The mongoose drove towards a group of grunts pinned down behind a destroyed ghost. There were several combat forms firing at them, including one with a fuel rod, and dozens of infection forms swarming around them.

Several combat forms died. The combat form with a fuel rod and another with a needler shot at the mongoose, but no hits were scored. The grunts shot at the attacking infection forms.

A combat form jumped onto the front of the mongoose and smashed the marine off. The mongoose slowed to a stop and three more combat forms ran up to it. Several of the grunts ran screaming, chased by infection forms. The remainder were quickly overwhelmed and infected.

(With the fuel rod?! XD) The explosion ripped the combat form-and the mongoose-apart. The other three combat forms were out of the blast radius.

Another combat form died. The last one jumped into the air. The infected grunts had become carrier forms and ran towards the marine, who fired at them with his assault rifle.
