The grunts swore at her and kept running. One of the Ultras chased the grunts down and killed them. There was a large explosion-like sound and the body of an infected Skirmisher landed beside the Sergeant. "Jiralhanae Chieftains." One of the Ultras grumbled. The Brute chieftain smashed another combat form. The brutes around him fired into carrier forms. The brutes were headed towards the group. The Jackals headed off to help some grunts.

The Sergeant followed, taking out a combat form with a stream of assault rifle bullets. Two combat forms shoulder-charged Rhi and smashed her to the ground. The other combat forms continued to chase down the grunts, occasionally dying to plasma fire.

The flood gurgled as they died. Two of the combat forms jumped up to the Jackal, killing two before being overcharged in the head. Sergeant Harrenly whacked a combat form in the head, but was simply smashed back by the combat form, falling onto the corpse of a grunt.

The combat form was killed by the shotgun blast. Two other combat forms ran at Ebony. The other three combat forms killed the last of the fifteen grunts and turned their attention to the Jackals.
