The Warthog returned and Patrise got into the turret. He immediately began firing at several combat forms pursuing the Warthog. Sergeant Harrenly picked up the dead Jackal's needle rifle and holstered the plasma repeater. "Lets move! Resnov, keep at a slow speed so the Jackals can keep up. Jackals, follow us and watch our back. We will take care of any robots that approach. Understand?"

Sergeant Harrenly grabbed on the back of the Warthog and put his feet on the bumper. "Back to the UNSC base." The female marine-Resnov-drove the Warthog forward, making sure it didn't go too fast. Patrise fired at a Sentinel that flew overhead. It malfunctioned and spun to the left and up, slamming into one of the gravitated aircraft.

Patrise fired his turret at some enemies in the distance. After a few seconds he stopped, whatever his target was having been killed. A sentinel flew down to the Jackals. It spent a few moments assessing them before firing at them. Several more flew down to aid the original Sentinel, dividing their numbers appropriately between the Warthog and the Jackals.

The other Jackal fired at the Sentinel. The Warthog turret fired constantly, whipping around between Sentinels. Sergeant Harrenly fired his plasma repeater one-handed at a Sentinel. Resnov swerved the Warthog and smashed a low-flying Sentinel going for the Jackals.
The Sentinel shuddered slightly before returning fire, it's beam disabling a Jackal's shield in moments then torching the Jackal. Sentinel beams fired past the Warthog, two scorching the side.

The Sentinel, riddled with plasma scorches and un-exploded needles, exploded. Two more strafed the Jackals, slaying a Jackal with a needle rifle. Two Sentinels exploded, destroyed by fire from the Warthog and Sergeant Harrenly.

The other Jackals also took cover, two getting their shields knocked out as they ran. The Jackals poured fired into the Sentinels from behind their rocks, but the Sentinels were moving very quickly. One of the Sentinels hit Sergeant Harrenly in the side and he fell off the Warthog, although he wasn't too badly injured.

Sergeant Harrenly took out his needle rifle and pumped several shots into a Sentinel, although it was finished off by several overcharged plasma-pistols.

(Wow Soz, it's not like he saved your life or anything XD) The Warthog turned around and headed for Sergeant Harrenly, nearly hitting a strafing Sentinel. Patrise destroyed another one with the Warthog turret.

A chunk of the rock melted right beside Soz's head. The Sentinel flew over the rock and hovered in front of Soz for a second, ignoring the plasma charges striking it's side, before firing.
