The infection form gurgled and burst, defeated. The other Elite minor yelled at the Jackals too, but in Sangheli and with more death threats. The Jackals hissed some orders at each other and got back into the fighting, using their plasma pistols on infection forms and Carriers while the Jackal snipers dealt with the combat forms.

The Flood began to overrun the group, killing several jackals, when several Sentinels made Strafing runs over the group. Another Wraith exploded nearby and over the ridge a Sentinel Enforcer could briefly be seen smashing a flood-driven Ghost

The last few carrier forms all detonated at once, the infection forms swarming in all directions, disorientated by the giant cloud of themselves. The Jackal's laid into the infection forms. One of the snipers stuck an infection form with a grenade, but it popped so the grenade simply landed on the ground and exploded.

The infection form swarm quickly dissipated, killed by the groups fire, although two Jackals were infected. Sergeant Harrenly head-shotted both Jackals with his needle rifle.
