Sidera wondered what on earth dextro DNA was, or why it would have any impact on him. Or why she had videogames about aliens, as if he even knew what they were, but he guessed they were some kind of electronic appliance that she enjoyed using. What he didn't understand was why they included aliens, but she had seemed rather surprised when he explained about him being an alien, so they were probably unheard of here. Or thought to be made up, and used for entertainment purposes.

He was, however, pleased that she wouldn't feed him poison. That in the least seemed like a good thing.

He looked a little bemused when she walked away, and he didn't know what to do, so chose simply to stand there and wait for her return. He didn't want to irritate her, after all. She looked very different when she returned, but not necessarily bad. He was even more confused when she said they were both the best, because if one thing was the best, how was the other one the best too? This was just getting more and more difficult to understand...

''Ah... Whichever. I don't mind.'' He looked uncomfortable and puzzled, so decided to look down at the floor and avoid looking at her.

"Hey cheer up buddy." Ellowyn smiled when she saw the clearly umcomfortable look. "Look you'll enjoy the food, cross my heart."

She hurried over to the door, the sooner she left, the faster she could come back. "Now, feel free to do anything as long as it inside." she said as she pulled on her boots. Don't open the door for anyone, don't touch anything sharp and don't burn the house down. I'll be back in ten."

She felt as if she was talking to a five year old. "See you Sid." She hurried out the door and bounded down the steps, debating for a moment whether to take the car or walk. Car would be faster. She walked over to the garage and got into her car.

The town was busy, it was normally never busy. Ellowyn knew army vehicle when she saw them, she had seen enough when she was little. She sucked in a sharp breath, there would be only one reason why the miliatry would be here. Sid's aircraft. She thought chewing on her lip. Just get the food and get gone

She made it to the dinner with relative ease, though the big thing was when she went in. It was full of men in uniform having a break, few dicussing in hushed voiced.

"Winnie! How nice to see you again!" came a voice from behind the counter. Ellowyn smiled and made her way over to the counter, she would keep her cool. "Martha how are you?"

"Well I'm just fine darlin', will you be having you usual."

Ellowyn nodded. "Uh huh, with extra fries-"

"Extra cheese, extra bacon, I remember. Now is that all?"

"And a grilled cheese, to go."

The woman nodded and hurried to the back to tell the cook. Ellowyn slid herself onto the red stool and pulled out her phone, she didn't get service here of course but she need to busy herself with something so she wouldn't stare at the officer that was watching her.

He got up and sat himself next to her, waiting for her to look up at him. She raised an eyebrow expectantantly. "Well little lady you gonna eat all of that. That's a big order." He said. Something about him was rubbing her the wrong way, which often didn't happen, she was normally unfazed by everything. "Well I eat a lot so..." she said turning her head back to her phone.

"I mean, one girl like you couldn't eat all that. Not when you're so skinny."

"Well I can, ask Martha she'll tell you." She looked at the waitress for help and she readily did. "But you can't-"

"Look is there something you are getting at Sergeant, I'k trying to get a cell signal." She finally snapped. Big mistake, they didn't like when civilian talks down to them.

His eyes flared but his face still had a fake smile. "I'm sure you've heard something about the crash." She rolled her eyes. "If you're planning on grilling me on something you might as well get it out. I only came here yesterday afternoon after, that meteor or bomb or satelite fell from the sky. And yes I saw it fall."

"Orders up." Martha said. Ellowyn sighed and spun around raching out for the bag of foam containers. "Thank Mar, give my best to Tony." she looked back at the man, but he only a nodded a brief good-bye.

It took all of Ellowyns will not to run out to her car and speed up, but somehow she managed to keep her breathin in check and went up the road at a normal pace. She let out the breath she had been holding since she drove out of the dinner. "Holy crap muffins." She muttered to herself as she pulled up to the cottage.

"Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap," She said as she hurried up the stairs. "Sid I'm back!" she yelled as soon as she opened the door. After fumbling with the lock for a while, she walked into the kitchen. She didn't realize she was shaking. She couldn't stay here with him, they'd have to get back to the city as soon as possible. She pulled the food out of the bag and opened the grilled cheese container. "Sid!"

Sidera wasn't quite sure what she meant by crossing her heart, but he decided to trust that he wouldn't die. Why would he die? Humans weren't all that different, right? He did attempt not to move after she left, just in case he should do something that might result in the house burning down.

Eventually, though, he got bored and decided to take a closer examination of his surroundings. Glancing around the kitchen, he saw what he thought were openings in the wall, and pulled on them. Apparently, they were drawers, and when he opened the top one there seemed to be silver-looking weapons in it. What kind of a person kept that many weapons in their home? He decided to see just how effective they were, and removed a long silver instrument with prongs at the end. We would probably know it as a fork.

After discovering that aiming it at things proved fruitless, and throwing it at walls only made it bounce back and hit him in the head, he placed it back into the drawer and continued looking around. Near the center of the wall was a large, black box, with circular patterns on its surface. On the front of it were a lot of nobs and buttons, and twisting one of these resulted in an instant burst of heat, although it perhaps wasn't noticable for humans.

Being rather adverse to heat, he decided it best to turn it off before it became worse, already getting a slight headache. He opened another cupboard and found an electronic mixer, which he held by the mixing end instead of the handle. Looking at it closely as he turned it on, the handle of course spun around instead of the mixer, and managed to smack him in the face. Dropping it immediately, it turned off and he returned it to where he found it.

Glancing around, he saw a roll of something white, decided to look at it in the living room, and for the next few minutes amused himself by unravelling it, attempting to find what it was hiding. By the time he found the cardboard tube in the center, he had kitchen roll draped over himself and along the floor, as well as on the couches. Sitting down amongst the absolute mess, he sat examining the tube, trying to discover what was so special about it.

By the time Ellowyn returned, he had still not figured it out, and smiled when he heard her. He wasn't aware, of course, that most people didn't like having paper towels all over their home.

''I'm in here, attempting to work out this device. What is it, and what does it do?''

He held up the paper tube, a curious and confused ex
pression upon his face. He wasn't sure what to do with it, but he was amazed that their technology could be so compact for such a primitive race.

"Sid...?" Ellowyn said slowly when she heard his voice. She walked backwards from the hallway and turned and looked at the living room across from the kitchen. How the hell had she not see that mess when she walked in?

Her mouth fell slightly open and her hand soon went to cover it. "Holy crap." she muttered from behind her hands. There was paper all over the damn place. "Oh my frickin god." Elle said dropping her hands and pushing some curls from her face.

She looked over at Sidera and his confused face. He couldn't be serious right now. "Sid..." Ellowyn sighed running a hand through her hair again. "That's roll of toliet paper, human's use it to wipe their ass." She said shaking her head. She was pretty upset but she just couldn't bring herself to punch him. He was just like a little kid, just without the annoying small bodies and shrill voices. Though that wouldn't stop her from hitting a kid, but he was an alien so she let that pass.

"Sweetheart get up. Let's unravel you." she said stepping towards him and motioning for him to stand up. "You made a giant mess. You're lucky you're an alien Sweetheart, other wise you'de have a bruise."

Sidera was highly confused, but gathered that Ellowyn was not very happy. Maybe he shouldn't have tried to figure out what it was... He wasn't really listening to anything else she said, until she stepped towards him and motioned for him to stand up. He reluctantly obliged, his shoulders slumped, not meeting her eyes. He wasn't quite sure what she meant by having a bruise, but it was clear she wasn't as happy with his little discovery as he had been.

Ellowyn had helped him when he had been turned out by his very own people, and for that he was greatful. He didn't want to be anymore trouble for her than he was already. ''Ah... I'm sorry... I didn't realize you'd be so... Sorry.''

When he did eventually look up to her, his eyes were sad and confused. Even then, he didn't look for long, and looked back down, where he proceeded to stare at his feet. He didn't look at her eyes properly even when he did look at her, in case he'd see the same disappointment he'd seen so many times already from his own family.

Ellowyn sighed and pulled the toliet paper from the the boys slumped shoulders. She tugged the paper off of him and tried to calm herself down. It was relatively easy though once he looked up at her with that said ex
pression. She couldn't help the slow smile spreading across her face, he was just so clueless it was the most adorable thing.

"Aww Sweetheart cheer up." She smiled pushing his chin up lightly with her finger. "It's an understandable mistake. Look why don't you go sit over there so I can clean the rest of this up. You're food is in the open container. Don't eat the white thing okay?"

She wondered if she needed to tell him that the food went in his mouth. Nah, I'm sure his people eat with their mouths, she thought. She wouldn't want to know what they ate with if it wasn't the mouth. She bent over and pulled the paper off the furniture. This was a mess, and she hated cleaning. That was why she planned on never having children. Looking after her father, and brother were enough for her. She gave up, she didn't feel like sleaning anymore. She'd get around to it, after she ate.

"How's the food?" she asked walking to the other side of the counter and opening her own food. She tried not to pass out from the lovely sight of the cheesy bacon on her burger. She picked up a fry and placed in her mouth and looked up.

Sidera couldn't understand why she was smiling all of a sudden, but he was just glad that when he did look at her, she didn't seem as incredibly disappointed as he had expected. He decided to do exactly as she said from then on, so he didn't do anything else wrong. He walked over to where she said and sat down, poking the strange looking 'food'.

When she walked back over, he decided to at least try and look like he was enjoying what she seemed to like so much, so he could be more... human for her. It had to be strange, having an alien in her home. He wouldn't have liked it any more if an earth person had come to his planet and he had to look after her.

He picked up the item, awkwardly at first, shrugged, and took a bite out of it. A strange ex
pression came to his face; he had known he wouldn't be used to the food, but this was worse than anything he had ever tasted. He wasn't to know that on earth people ate meat as well as vegetation, but he thought it was a taste he'd get used to. Of course, nor did he know it wasn't possible for him to deal with that much protien at once, wasn't possible for his system to adjust to eating meat.

He made himself continue eating, in case he offended her, despite feeling increasingly sick. His skin, which was already slightly unhealthy looking, gained a slight lilac tint, but it wasn't as if he noticed that. After a couple of bites he had given up altogether, and replaced the food into the container, holding his hands in his lap and looking down at them. How was he supposed to tell her that the food she thought was the very best quite literally made him sick? Maybe if he just stayed quiet, she wouldn't notice, despite the fact his eyes were glazing over.

Ellowyn watched him poke around at the food for a while before she picked up her own burger and taking a giant bite. Man, Tony did good. Her burger was perfect and he even put the bacon and cheese inside the actual burger.

She wipped the side of her mouth with her hand before delving into her fries. She looked up for a moment and noticed Sidera taking cautious bites out of the burger.

The second time she looked up was a huge surprise. In a matter of few minutes she had wolfed down all of her food but he was sitting there sheepishly. "What the hell?" Elle said, her face going into a puzzled ex
pression. She blinked a few time and rubbed her eyes. This couldn't be right. She squinted and noticed that his skin was a light purple colour, there was no hiding it. "What the hell is up with your skin Sid?" she finally exclaimed. "Your skin, it's purple!"

Sidera looked up, wondering what was wrong with her. Was it really so obvious that he wasn't feeling well? At her last statement, though, he himself became very confused. ''... P-purple?'' He was beginning to feel light headed, and his words were coming out strangely, as if his tongue was tied or twisted.

''... I don't... I don't feel very well...'' He closed his eyes for a moment, feeling terrible in more ways than one. She'd probably hate him for insulting what was obviously an important part of her culture, for disgracing something she clearly adored.

''I... I'm sorry, but... But I don't think your food... I don't think it agrees with my... With my system.'' He looked truly miserable, his shoulders slumped and his eyes distant, hazy and misted, staring at something unseen. The light lilac colour was darkening to a slight violet, and his head was pounding. Besides that, he was feeling increasingly warm, and he hated feeling warm.

"Holy crap." Ellowyn said hurrying over to his side and placing a hand on his purple forhead. She pulled back, he felt really warm. "Hey Sid, why don't we go over to the window there, maybe get you some air." She motioned to the nearest window. "If you vomit, I really don't wanna clean it up so how bout we just go to the window."

Ellowyn wondered if she was being mean, but she honestly didn't want to clean up throw up. She already had to clean up his decorating the living room with a roll of toliet paper.

Sidera flinched slightly when Ellowyn placed her hand on his forehead, but otherwise made little response. He didn't want her to have to clean up after him any more than she already did, so stumbled to his feet, his vision fading in and out. He leaned on the table for a moment, feeling dizzy.

''... Sorry...'' He mumbled, walking over to the window and leaning against the cool glass, closing his eyes to stop seeing the world spinning and swaying. It made him feel a little bit less nauseous, anyway.

Ellowyn instantly felt horrible. "Hey don't apologize. It's not your fault I probably should have asked what you ate on your home planet." she said sheepishly running a hand through her hair.

He was turning purple because of her. She turned and opened the cuboard, pulling out a glass before going into the fridge and pulling out the Brita pitcher. "Here, have some water." She said moving towards him to hand him the cool glass. "You do have water on your planet right?"

[[ROFL. WHAT. It's what I would do. XD]]

Sidera was surprised she hadn't got mad at him for insulting her culture yet, but he was still expecting it and waiting for her to say something. He was even more surprised when she told him not to apologise, and smiled nervously, mumbling something incoherent.

He opened his eyes when he heard her approaching, closed them again for a moment and then looked straight at her. He didn't know why he was looking at her, analysing her features, but it only lasted for a moment, after which he nodded and lightly took the glass from her, getting a small sip of the cold water and feeling slightly better. Now that he had stopped consuming the food that was damaging his cells, he would go back to normal on his own, even if he'd feel tired for a while. His skin was still a light lilac again, but it was improving.

Ellowyn raised an eyebrow when he studied her, wondering what might possibly be running through his mind, but he took the glass from her. She wondered how long she'd have him for. He said forty years, but...would she have to keep him for forty years? He didn't know about Earth, hell he did a TP job in her living room. And the thought of him in her New York apartment, with her dog.

Oh that would be funny, she mused. Him meeting Duke, that would be a riot. She smiled slightly and looked back up at Sidera whos skin was slowly going back to normal.

"I probably shouldn't have given you a fatty burger and expected you to just eat it with no problems." She sighed plopping herself down on the nearest seat. She ran a hand through her hair again. "Feeling any better?"

Sidera nodded and smiled, trying to reassure her. Why exactly she cared, he wasn't quite sure, since he would probably be less problematic for her if he had died. Then again, she seemed like a very nice person, and for some reason he found it doubtful she would see things exactly like that. Even so, she had to have some idea of how much easier it would be for her without him around.

''Yes, very much... It's not as if you could... It's not as if you knew, after all...'' He paused, wondering if all earth food would do that to him. Maybe it was just that kind of food... If it wasn't, he didn't know what he'd do. ''What... What kind of plants was that, anyway?''

A small smile came across Elles face when he said he was feeling better, but an eyebrow raised when said the next thing . "Plant?" she repeated, giving him an odd look. She ran a hand through her hair again, puzzled. "Sweetheart that was beef. Meat." she said slowly, looking up at him her blue eyes clearly confused.

How could he not have known that was meat. She personally had never seen any 'plant' that looked like meat, unless she took into acount veggie burgers, but she wasn't to sure about those things.

"Did you not eat meat on your planet?" She asked, her head tilting a bit to the side. If he didn't eat meat where did his people get protien from. Couldn't be the plants, could plants even give protein? Plus the people of Earth had been eating meat for years, since the dawn of time. And if they really somehow decended from his people...she was going to give herself a head ache if she thought of it any longer.

Sidera felt a little bit more ill when he heard that. He of course knew what meat was, he knew animals' and people's flesh were sometimes called meat by grotesque people, but to think they ate it reguarly here... To think he had just been eating what had been a living, breathing, moving, creature... With a heart beat and a mind and thoughts... It was a little too much.

He sank down to the floor, deciding he would never get used to this planet. Their food literally made him sick, they were quite literally barbaric in their choice of sustenence... How would their cultures compare? How could he hope to survive here, if there was even that big of a difference in something so small? His skin had returned to its normal colour, albeit it a little paler, if that were possible, but his ex
pression was one of shock and just a little bit of horror. His legs were drawn up slightly, if only a little, and his hands rested in his lap.

''No...'' He shook his head, wondering what kind of creature it had once been. How did they raise their food? Did the creatures even get spoken to, get clean, safe environments, recieve love, or get freedom, like the animals on his home planet? Very few wild animals existed where he came from, and even those were treated with more respect than hatred. ''What kind of... What was it, that creature...? Did it suffer?'' He looked to her then, his eyes questioning with a need to know. How did they go about killing the animals? Were they simply put to sleep, or was it a more primitive method?
