The poor kid looks horrified as he sank down to the ground and Ellowyn felt bad. "Well uh, they are called hamburgers but they're actually made from beef...So cow I guess." she sighed rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.

She sighed, this was going to be awkward to explain. It was common knowledge that the animals weren't always treated humainely before being butchered. Though that actually didn't stop the companies from carrying on the way they did. Plus cows didn't really do much beside eat, sleep, and produce methan farts that killed the environment, but she didn't really want to explain that to the sad alien infront of her. "I'm pretty sure they don't suffer Sid, it's quick. Humans eat meat but we're not total barbarians, we don't cut the animals up alive."

She stood back up and wandered over to the window and looked out for a moment, watching a chipmuck dart up a tree. Wondering what horrible thoughts she had just given the poor guy. She turned back to Sidera studying the shocked alien. He looked much better now, his skin no longer purple. "Hey, atleast now I know you don't eat meat." she shrugged, hoping that might shut him up about asking about what other animals they ate. She'd have to remember that he wasn't human, no matter how much he looked the part. His system might have been extremely different from hers. "When we get back to the city I'll make sure to do some shoppping at the Vegan store up the street. I'm sure they'd have stuff that wouldn't damage your system too much."

Sidera supposed it was something, but how many innocent creatures did the humans eat on a daily basis? From what he'd learned, there were billions of people on the earth. They reproduced rapidly, rather than staying at a steady rate of two children per couple, meaning they had already almost caught up to the alien population. There was no way they could kill that many helpless creatures, was there...? Was it really necessary for them to do that?

''Ah... Okay...'' At least the animals were killed quickly, even if that hadn't been the kind of suffering he was thinking about. What if they didn't only eat animals, but people, too? In his mind, people were only a small fraction higher than animals. What about these people? Did they believe in canibalism? It was an even more sickening thought, and one he decided to just forget. There was no way he wanted to know the answer to that question, any more than he wanted to know the answers to any of his other questions, but he needed to know.

''Your people... I thought, for a while there, maybe we weren't so different... Maybe I could learn to be like you, with a little practice... But there's just so much... So much difference, I don't know if I can...'' He looked down at the floor, wondering how it would be possible for him to be like her people. Like her. Suddenly, an idea came to him, and he looked up sharply, directly at her.
''Uhm... Ellowyn, could you... Would you mind... Would you mind teaching me how to be like you? Like your people?''

Ellowyn raised and eyebrow and leaned against the wall, wondering where he was going with this, but he stopped and looked down at the floor. She sighed lightly and turned her gaze back out the window, through the tree she could see the army truck in the distance. She sucked in a breath, but before she could say anything Sidera was talking again.

He was looking up at her intently. She smiled slightly and shook her head, trying not to laugh. She looked at him. "Well Sweetheart, that may be a hard thing to teach. I've never had to teach someone about being human." she shrugged, running a hand through her hair. "I'd say the best way you could learn was from TV, but I don't get cable here."

This was going to be hard, humans had a wide range of cultures. And then there were sub-cultures withing the cultures. How was this going to work out. She ran her tongue over her lips as she thought. She looked back at Sidera. "But I guess I could try." she grinned. "First thing, humans don't turn purple, so if you turn any other colours you should probably let me know now. For future reference, we wouldn't want you turning green if a girl was hitting on you."

She'd have to start somewhere.

This guy was just too cute. Ellowyn couldn't help but smile when his glowing eyes literally lit up. All the thoughts of how hard it would actually be to take care of this alien left her mind, for the time being. She was sure stuff would start popping up sooner or later.

"Well for the eyes, I'll just get you some sunglasses. It worked you that guy with the lazer eyes in X-Men." She shrugged. "Unless those were special..." That wasn't important, and she was sure that he didn't have the slightest idea of what she was even talking about. Running a hand through her hair she thought about what he had said about the plants. "Also about the blue fingers, just don't do that in public. It would be really hard to explain why your finger tips are blue and it's hot enough to cook an egg on the sidewalk." Again, she was sure her humour was lost on him.

Shaking her curly head at her own joke, she pulled her phone from her pocket and checked the time. It was just past one now, she wondered how long it would take for the those military men to show up on her doorstep to ask questions. She chewed on her bottom lip and her eyes scanned the room. It would be hard to explain why her living room was TP'ied.

"Look Sid, I don't mean to alarm you..." She wasn't exactly sure how to put this exactly. How was she supposed to tell him that men where looking to capture and probably conduct expirements. "But some scary look men are probably going to arrive soon. So you can help me clean up all the paper, or you can find a good hiding spot and don't come out until I say its safe."

She closed her eyes for a moment and realized what she said sounded totally horrible. She wouldn't be surprised if he totally just freaked out.

Thermal imagery? Part of Ellowyn wondered how he knew about that, but she guessed aliens probably advanced like in the movies. She scratched her head as she thought about it. "I sure as hell hope not." She eventually said. They wouldn't use thermal imagery to scan a house would they? Maybe to scan the woods near the crash site but the town? Who would help an alien? She even wondered why he did. It was going to be a lot of work.

"We should just clean up." She sighed bending over to start picking up the toliet paper. "I'll worry about when they get here. I'll think of something."

She would have to think fast, and once the military was gone. They'd have to leave and go back to the city. She smiled slightly at the thought of how Sidera would probably freak out by the strange sights, sounds and smells. That also reminded her of another question.

"Hey Sid." She said, pausing her work. "How come you speak English?"
