Jace walked up to her, concern flickering through his one good eye. "What's the matter?" he asked, looking around quickly. He hadn't seen her, or heard her. ____ Josh took in a shaky breath, trying to find his head. "Just....Give me.....A minute...." he gasped, pinching his eyes shut tightly. He tilted his head to the side and spit out a mouthful of candy-sweet venom. He groaned quietly, shaking violently from head to toe.

Deomi lay on the ground, heado n her paws. Her nose was no longer bleeding, she licked the blood from her paaaws and lip, still keeping a watchful eye on Josh.

Josh's eyes rolled back into his head, and he fell to the side limply. His body gave one more jerk, and then he grew still for a minute. All was silent, and then he shifted with a loud howl.

"Uh?" Nanami looked up and back at Jace from her place on the floor then blushed red, sitting upright her face hidden behind her hands. "Nothing, nothing... I just... it was a mouse" she laughed. "A mouse ran over my hand and startled me, guess I'm kinda on edge" she sighed. Blush dying down to a light pink she pointed at the little clutch of rocks "it ran under there I think."

Deomi rose to her paws, watching Josh. She barked once, to see his reaction, and her wings emerged from her back, they folded neatly at her sides.

Jace wrinkled his nose. "Mice. Well, I'm not even sure their edible, so we'll leave it. Ugh, I hate mice." _____ Josh twitched, sitting upright in a fluid moment. He growled, pulling his lip back over his teeth, black eyes narrowing angrily.

Deomi tentativley padded toward Josh, Head lowered and ears pinned back. She whined low in her throat and stopped about two yards away, not afraid of attack, but scared that the real Josh was lost in the beast.

"I think mice are cute" she said with a soft laugh. "So, I'm guessing you didn't find anything?" she asked her head tilted to the side. "That's okay... ya know I was thinking, maybe if we look around for cracks on the walls we could chip at them open with a rock or something and see if there's any light on the other side." She didn't know where the idea had come from, it'd just popped into her head.

Jace couldn't sleep; he was too tense and aware his surroundings for that. Instead, he took Nanami's hand without waking her and studied over carefully. It seemed small and delicate compared to his.

((Er... Improv post! ^^)) Nanami didn't stir from sleep but her hand moved to grasp his, squeezing gently as she let out a contened sigh and muttered something uninteligent her head settling more firmly against him her hair falling over her eyes.
