Charlotte's eyes scanned the area around her. "It's getting smaller," she whispered. "And there's more water on the ground. That means we're going deeper into the ground." Her heart hammered. "We're getting closer to the Underworld."

Charlotte nodded, though she didn't think so. "I'll be okay. I'm just...nervous." A better word would be terrified.

Hunter looked around the dark cave,"I never dreamed of being in the underworld...At least not while I was still alive." He said.

"You don't want to be," Charlotte said flatly. Her father'd never abused her, but just to see everyone else's torture..and to look into Tartarus... She shivered again; the air around them seemed to warm up a little.

"Maybe we should come back with the others...It might be safer then...You know incase we meet Hades or something." Hunter said looking around.

Charlotte shook her head. "Hades wouldn't be caught dead in a place like this." She sighed, "Besides, he's busy anyways. And what can it hurt? At least in the Underworld, we're free." Her eyes flickered. "And from there, I'd know a way out."

Her eyes got dark. "No," she mumbled. "It's too dangerous for me to go back and forth through the Underworld. He'll know I'm there, and well..." she took in a shaky breath, "He'll catch me."

"I can't leave then...Can't we go back and get the others then escape?" Hunter asked not wanting to leave the others here when they might be able to escape.

Charlotte let go of his hand in disgust. "Don't you get it?" she snapped. "Too many people, and we'll be noticed! Besides, I don't even know if that's where this tunnel leads. I'm probably wrong anyways." She started to jog down the tunnel without him, aware that he could hardly see.

Hunter sighed and started to follow. He put his hand against the wall following it. He took a look back,"I wonder what Johnny would do." He thought. He shifted into a wolf trying to see if he could see any better.

Charlotte was nearly knocked out as the scent of death hit her. She started to slow down, peaking her head into the large cavern in front of her. Numerous skeletons of all shapes were scattered around the room, and cobwebs were strung between bones. She dropped to her knees and started to sob. This was horrible....

Hunter looked around still not able to see. He walked some more ,his pelt brushed against the wall. He heard Charlotte crying and shifted back,"Are you okay?" He asked not seeing the skeletons.

Charlotte stood back up, and pulled Hunter into a tight hug. Her face was pressed against his chest, and she sobbed uncontrollably. "What..happened...to..them?!" she cried. "How..long..have..they..been..here?!"

Hunter looked at the skeletons,"Probably for a long time looking at the cobwebs." He said his voice sad. He didn't like to see Charlotte crying like this.

Realization struck her hard like a blow to the stomach. "We're never getting out of here," she sobbed. "We're going to end up just like them." Tears soaked the front of Hunter's shirt.

"No we will find a way." Hunter said,"You said you knew a way out through the underworld right? We just have to find the underworld." Hunter said determinded. He looked down at Charlotte,:It will be okay." He said trying to comfort her.

Charlotte took a deep breath in. "None of these tunnels will lead to the Underworld," she cried, "Just watch." She stopped breathing when she heard one of the skeletons start to stirr behind her. Things don't tend to stay..dead..around me... Her own words echoed in her head.
