((Sorry, for taking so long, I'm a bit preocupied.))

Alissa looked at the younger, boy. Well you're just full of engergy aren't ya. She thought to herself as she grabbed her bags. Then looked over at another boy who seemed just as happy. it also seemed that his sister, wasn't. She smiled slightly as she watched the girl kick him.

"Alright, I'll cut the perky crap now. I'm not one to treat teenagers like they're 5. Anyways, let's hurry up to the Orange Belt, we've got a busy first day. When we get on the bus, then, we'll head off." She heard the tour guide say. She quickly followed him and the rest of the group. She nearly bumped into the kid when he suddenly stopped. "Now, sorry, but if I'm not mistaken that is a Parasitic Jaeger!"

Alissa looked over at the bird. It's a stupid bird nothing to get excited about. She thought. She really hated birds, they're always up early chirping and making a bunch of noise while the whole worlds trying to sleep. She sighed slightly, as she made her way onto the bus and looked around. She twirled a strand of her purple hair and watched them. The boy, was still happy and excited as ever while his sister just seemed annoyed. And the other girl, well she just seemed bored.

She looked down and started to inspect her black nail polish, trying to look preocupied so none of the kids would talk to her.

Alec slumps down in his seat. This wasn't going all that great. Better just stick with his introduction and where they're off to and shut up.
"Marty, can you take us to Winneba Plain?" he asks the bus driver. Marty grins and nods.

"Alright, guys. Let's cut to it. I'm Alec Ghanala, I'm 14, and I work for Tropical Birding, obviously. We're going off to Winneba Plain."

"Birds that we're likely to see include Woodchat Shrikes, Flappet Larks, Simple Greenbuls, and one which everyone always loves, the African Firefinch. Scissor-tailed Kites have also been seen there, which is strange, because usually they live much farther away."

Alissa looked up when she heard a laugh. It was the girl who had seemed bored earlier. She watched as she went to talk to the younger tour guide. Which Alissa thought was odd, a fourteen year old tourguide who actually worked with a tour agency. But then again, she shouldn't judge. she went back to inspecting her nails.

"Hey, I'm Amelia. You seem like you don't want to be here."

She looked up at the laughing girl, who introduced herself as Ameila, when she started talking. She looked around and wondered who she was talking to before she realized it was her. Oh good god. She thought. "Oh, I don't." Alissa said looking away from her hand and at the girl. "I hate birds. I abosolutly hate them. But my mother thought sending my on this trip would make my like them more."

Amelia read the ex
pression on the girl's face. Kinda piffed off, she concluded. "Why do you hate them? And I despise when parents do that. My dad  tried to send me to camp once, wanting me to make nicer friends. I finally told him I'd get nicer friends if he didn't send me to camp."

Alec sighed, staring out the window and absently listening to Amelia's conversation with the other girl, who's name he didn't know yet. This was turning out disastrous.

"Why do you hate them? And I despise when parents do that. My dad  tried to send me to camp once, wanting me to make nicer friends. I finally told him I'd get nicer friends if he didn't send me to camp."

Alissa smiled slightly at the last part. "I guess I had a bad experience with bird when I was little. I was at the fair, and the seagulls and pigeons attacked me while I was eating my french fires. And also, they're always up early and chirping and making a bunch of stupids noises while the whole world is trying to sleep. It's rather annoying." She decided she shut up then. That was the most talking she had probably ever done in a day. Plus she didn't wan't to bore the girl as she went on and on about how much she hated the creatures. But then again it might make her leave her alone...

Oh thank God, Alec thinks as he tells Marty to hurry up and stop the bus. He could see the confusion on everyone's face.
"Everyone, as you probably don't know, considering most of you are unhappy to be here, the Scissor-tailed Kite has been seen recently around the Winneba Plain area. If you look a little to the left..."

"You'll see one of them nearby on that branch."

Amelia turned to look out the window. It was beautiful. So majestic. She felt the grin slide off her face when she remembered the comment Alec made. "Everyone, as you probably don't know, considering most of you are unhappy to be here,".

She turned to him. "Hey, Alec or whatever your name is, I happen to know all about the birds here in Ghana. I have a book on the birds and animals. Check out who wrote it." She dug in her bag for the book, then thrust it at him. The author's name sat clearly at the bottom : Amelia Grudenski. "No, that's not my mother, it's me, and plus, even if we don't want to be here, you had no right to say so. It also proves you were listening to my conversation with someone. Oh yeah, I saw you, don't think I didn't."

Alec nodded. Amelia was right, of course. He'd let his temper get the best of him.
"Alright, would it help if I said you were right I shouldn't have said that, and yes, I do eavesdrop. It's a bit of a habit you pick up when you grow up listening to the village elders always gossiping around. Maybe it'd also help if I said-- no stalkerishness intended-- that I was a 'fan' of your book on Facebook?"
