She stood, shaking out her skirts. "I believe that tomorrow we should make our rounds to 'announce the weddings and introduce Melody to society' and mayhap, drop a few bugs in ears on our ways. Possibly we should also see Lord Matthias and King Jareth as well. It could not hurt to have the goblins on our side. What say you, ladies?"

Also, I got distracted by what I thought was a Chinese boy band, but is, in reality, a Thai girl band where all the members are frighteningly androgynous.

Eirian clapped with delight, though in a manner considerably subdued. No need to attract the attention of the men quite yet. "Oh, Cousin Jareth! I'm sure he'd love to stop in, if he can get one of the sidhe nearby to act as regent until he's heard our story and made a decision." Nikki looked from one to the other, her eyes wide."You mean... Jareth, as in... Jareth, the Goblin King? From that movie I watched as a kid? He's real?" With a giggle Eri patted the girl's shoulder, smiling. "Well, darling, of course he is! That crazy singer who played him in the movie had the sight. So did that Jim Henson character. They used a true story for what everyone believed was a children's fairy tale. Actually, I remember that my cousin took quite a liking to that man... David something-or-other. They had quite the tryst, it was said. Anywho, he's not nearly as bad any more. Seeing the story through the eyes of another made him realize how Unseelie he was being, and he changed his ways immediately. So, the Meri's, Jaelyn, Jareth, and Matthias. Quite a group we have amassed."

  Faile gave a bright, brittle smile. "Indeed! Shall we away to the scrying dish to make our calls overseas? For the others, it will be fine to just stop by, if we send a retainer first" She wrapped her arms around the others shoulders and began the walk to the scrying room. "They actually got Jareth's look spot on, amazing thing. Though his pants are not quite as tight as they are portrayed." She shared a laugh. In the scrying room, they gathered round a low ceramic basin filled with crystal clear water. Faile touched just the tip of her finger to the water's surface and whispered, "Matthias..." The water became cloudy, swirling in shades of green, gray, and blue. Slowly, it cleared, leaving behind the image of a tall sidhe dressed all in black. His long hair was bright blonde, almost metallic gold, and his eyes were tricolored, sky, sea, and midnight. Behind him was a field of wet green and rain.

  "Yes, Lleweloth... Oh, Faile! Hello! I see you are to be the new mistress around there, congratulations. What can I help you with? Of was this just a social call?"

  "Thank you, Lord Matthias. Yes, we only became betrothed last night. I am afraid to say that this is more than a social call."

  "Yes, I see." The fae put a finger to his nose. "Is that a human standing beside you? Whatever is she doing there?"

  "Lord Matthias, I will allow Eirian to explain, if it pleases you." Faile stepped back, allowing Eirian to take up the majority of what the male could see.

Eirian nodded to Faile, then smiled warmly to the man in the water. Through all this Nikki gawked, awed as always by fae magick. "Pleasure to see you, Lord Matthias. Well, you see, this is our young companion Nicole O'Danaan. I would have you emphasize her last name, for I know you studied closely the orders of mortals that alligned themselves to the Old Gods, and that you know the O'Danaan is a surname that would belong to a family who closely worshipped our own Earth Mother. Thanks to her closeness, her family has been gifted with the True Sight. She has always been thus blessed. Naturally, Lleweloth and I took her under our wings early on to prevent someone less savory from taking advantage of the gifts she has been endowed. Yesterday we met a young man in the woods, who also had the Sight. Through a lovely adventure we followed him to his half sister, who is our dear Lleweloth's long lost daughter by a human woman, brought her back to the Hollow, and brought the other two into our world. Now the two young ones are engaged, and the girl's mother has refused them her blessing.

So in a fit of bravery the father, who is the one from whom she recieved her blood right, ccame back with her to us. Shortly thereafter he told us of how a certain daughter of a certain High Queen used him as a toy, then dumped him as one would last years fashion. We have come to gather allies who will support us and act as witnesses against this shallow, viscious creature in a Right of Family. Since you have always been a dear friend, we thought you might like to know of this insult." Still she smiled, the ex
pression betraying turning her bright gold eyes molten.

  Faile smiled as well, her eyes pleading. "Please, Lord Matthias. We dearly need your help. There is reason to believe that there may be danger to our little Melody, as well as the other young ones." The older fae sat stoicly, staring at them for a few moments.

  "I believe, my dears, that I must come for a visit. Eirian, love, prepare my room and a good supper tonight!" He saluted the ladies and dissapeared from view. Faile laughed a bit hystericly. 

  "Ok, Eri! Your turn to make the call!"

  Faile laughed with her, feeling something like relief flow through her. Her shoulders sagged slightly. "Come along, girls. We should all go and inform our menfolk about our guests. Hopfully Lleweloth will not be angry with me." She led the way out of the scrying room and proceded down to the Hall of Portraits, where they found Melody laughing and using both her father and Nicole's as a jungle gym. Faile smiled at the sight, moving towards them in a swish of skirts and calling out jovialy, My Lord, we are to have guests this evening! Lord Matthias and King Jareth!"

Scott nd Lleweloth, who had both been having a nice laugh, stopped at Faile's announcement. However, the light stayed in Llew's eyes, and both men continued to support Mel's swinging. "My Lady, that sounds wonderful. It has been quite some time since I've my dear friend or my beloved cousin." He snapped with his free hand, and instantly Logart appeared, alert and smiling. After acknowledging him with a smile, Lleweloth nodded. "Mr. Logart, if you could prepare the usual suites of Lord Matthias and Cousin Jareth, I would be eternally grateful. We shall be recieving them by dinner." Logart's smile widened, as he was obviously pleased greatly by the news. "Of course my lord."

He disappeared forthwith, and Llew chuckled. "It seems as though everone is pleased that  finally end my self-removal from society. Including myself. Well, My Lady Faile, I can guess your motive for bringing those distinguished gentlemen, since I see that conspiratorial look in my cousin's eyes, and Nicole can't hide anything. However, since this was obviously a decision made by the women, I shall leave it among you. I'm just glad that my standing as a knight can be of use at least."

Scott looked around at the gathered, piecing what he could together. Something in Nicole's eyes told him that he didn't want to ask any questions, so he nodded, smiling brightly.

  Faile gave Lleweloth a brilliant smile, her whole face lighting up. Dropping into a small curtsey she said, "Thank you, my Lord. I shall go and see to the dinner directly. And I believe I heard report that Garrett should be arriving home soon. We shall have to prepare rooms for our mortal guests as well..." she was ticking things off in her head as she moved away, leaving Nicole and Eirian with the men. Soon, there was a heavy clumping of combat boots as Garrett strode into the room in uniform. He dropped his duffle on the floor as he went to Melody and Nicole and swept them into his arms lovingly.

  "Hello, my lovely ladies. How are you doing this evening?"

Nicole squealed with delight at his embrace, practically leaping into it. "Garrett! I've had a lovely day plotting the down-fall of an empire as well as a lovely dinner with -drumroll please- None other than Jareth the Goblin King, and apparently Eri and Llew's cousin. Isn't that just the craziest thing? He's really, really, REALLY real! And apparently he's even better looking than David Bowie's portrayel. I just can't wait to meet him." Behind her Scott coughed, and a blush swept across her cheeks.

"But I'll be ten times happier every time you walk into a room. How was your day on base, my handsome soldier?"

At Garrett's reaction Eirian giggled, casting a joking look to Nikki. "Nice save." Nikki laughed openly, her face unshadowed in her happiness. Llew nodded, smiling. "Well, I'm slowly discovering that everyone in my life knew I was miserable and alone except me." With a chuckle, Scott shook his head. "Isn't that always the case?"
