Wrapping his arms around Claire in return, Calamity gave her a tight, quick squeeze, then pulled away slightly, just so he could face her. "Not a problem," Calamity said with a grin. "I'll hug you anytime." Then, after a moment of thought, his grin broadened. "Well..." He rubbed a hand into his hair, his grin growing sheepish. "Yeah, probably. You have a brother?"

Claire shook her head, "Yeah, I do." she unwound her arms arom around him, pulling away. "I'll go get him some clothes, then." She said, and walked towards her brothers room right after saying she would. Once she arrived, she pulled a shirt and a pair of plaid pajama pants (andboxersbutwthman.) from his dresser. She figgured the clothes would be a bit big, but not too much. She strode to the bathroom door, cracking it open just a bit and tossing the clothes onto the sink/counter. Claire quietly closed the door again before she headed back towards the living room.

Having found the clothes and realized that they were his to borrow, Severin changed into them and walked back out. Of course, he'd decided on wearing Calamity's shirt rather than Claire's brother's shirt; for one thing, body heat still lingered on it, as well as heat from the shower he'd taken. Second, he disliked wearing so much clothing that belonged to his girlfriend's brother. Third, he preferred the familiar scent.

When Severin entered the living room again, every-so-often shuddering from a chill only he could feel, he was greeted with a weak smile from Calamity. "So..." he began, furrowing his brow at his younger brother. "Did'ja swim here?"

"No, I'm an angel," Severin answered with a scowl. "I fu.cking flew here."

Calamity's ex
pression turned irritated for one second, but Severin only continued. "Yes, I swam. A little. I caught a boat on the island that was heading back to the harbor, and I dived out before they got back. Then I swam."

Severin rubbed his arms, trying to find some warmth as he looked all around. Birthday decorations. Pretty, happy, birthday decorations. Well, Calamity was always the type who had to stick around and try and make things better. He always had to try and keep people together, always had to try and make people happy. Usually he forgot about himself when he did that.

"So, um," Maybe he was rubbing his arms, looking around wildly with widened eyes, shifting his weight from leg to leg every second, and shaking for a different reason. But, he needed to hide it. "It's Claire's birthday today," Severin said, gripping hard at his biceps for a moment before continuing. "and Calamity was just about to...to do something. Just do it."

He looked at Calamity, who cleared his throat audibly. "Right... Well, Claire should cut the cake," he said, holding the knife out to her, handle first. "it's her's, after all."

Severin followed close behind, head ducked down slightly as he walked. When Claire stopped, he did, too, and proceeded to wrap an arm around Claire's waist, coming around loosely, but tightening slightly just as it settled. He brought her closer to himself, then looked over his shoulder. Behind the two of them, Calamity stared with the most apathetic look on his face.

"Calamity!" Severin snapped irritably.

The older male blinked out of his stare, hurrying to stand at Claire's other side and then smile encouragingly at her. "Go ahead, cut the cake." he said.

Claire had her face tilted down towards the gound a bit, grinning. She placed her hand on his side, looking up at him just to see him snap at his brother. She didn't have the chance to get close to him since he got back, mostly because Calamity was there, and that made it too awkward to hug or kiss or touch him. Now that he finally did just that, she had to pull he hand away and do what Calamity said.

Claire did as she was told and sliced into the cake, smiling back at Calamity; even though she was a bit irritated that he had practly ruined whatever was just going to happen. It didn't matter, it was probably better that nothing had happened infront of him, it would've ended even more awkward than it had.

"Yay," Calamity clasped his hands together, smiling a tight smile. As soon as his hands clapped, one parted from the other to push into Calamity's hair, and he sighed. "Oh, gosh, I have a headache." he mumbled, turning away from the two.

Severin glanced back at his older brother, and his eyes stayed on him for a bit, as if analyzing him. "You always seem to have a headache when I'm around," he said, looking back at the cake and the incision Claire had made in it. He put his hand over Claire's.

"There's gotta be a reason for that." Calamity said with a laugh that sounded a bit forced.

Claire frowned a bit to herself, she was a bit irritated that Calamity was restricting her from doing the cute, touchy, boyfriend-girlfriend things she wanted to do. Like, hug him without feeling awkward. That would be nice.

Claire didn't even care now. She didn't want to get mad at Calamity, he didn't know she wanted nothing more than for Severin's lips to be crushing her's, but she was determined to get her kiss without feeling awkward.

Claire loosened her grip in the knife, letting it fall with a small cling. She wove her fingers though his, turning to face him, holding his and her hands in place to as.sure his arm would wrap around her as she turned and she could still hold his hand, even thought it was at an awkward angle. She wrapped her free arm around him, pulling herself close to him.

A hug is fine, too.

Calamity sighed, thinking, Cute, very cute. and shaking his head. However, the moment would be crushed not too long afterwards. Severin could spend the night, that was it. Then, he would have to return, and Calamity would see to it. If Severin didn't have to go back, that would have been amazing for all of them. But, he did. He did, and it was just too bad.

As Calamity thought about all that, Severin slowly returned th hug, feeling completely awkward and unprepared. Of course, he wasn't one for affection. He needed to prepare -- or rather, brace -- himself for affection before he engaged in it. So, their hug was awkward, and Severin's grey-white face was a light rosey color for a bit before he pulled away. "Wanna try the cake?" he asked in a squeakey, breathless voice.

Severin jumped. "Did you get the plates?" he retorted. He looked down at Claire's hand, disregarded it, and turned Claire around. "You're right. It's your birthday, you shouldn't have to. Hold on." He turned her around again. She was facing the wrong way, he had to go that way.

He took a total of three brisk steps to get to the plates, then three steps back to set them down on the table. His gait was unusual, the way he walked and all. Usually he'd take longer to get somewhere just for the hell of it. "Calamity?" he said.

Calamity took the knife. "I'll serve us," he told Claire with a smile, and looked at Severin. His ex
pression was one that looked a bit like he was saying, "What the fu.ck is wrong with you?" Severin stared back with wide eyes.

( Some day. I'm going to draw Severin with a sign that reads, "NO VIOLATING." around his neck...or waist. eue )

Calamity did as he said he would, and Severin flinched at the sound of stainless steel touching ceramic plates. Just as Calamity was about to set the last slice of cake down, Severin snapped.

"Will you fu.cking shut up already!?" Severin shouted, pushing Claire out of the way and scaring the crap out of his older brother.

He jumped, dropping the slice onto the floor and almost toppling over the table. "What the hell is your problem, Severin!?" he yelled. "You made me drop the cake!" That was indeed what he was worried about.

"You are!" Severin tried to shove Calamity back, but he flipped Severin's arms away just before they reached him. "You're annoying! You're noisy! You're nosy! Get out of here! Get out!"

For a moment, Calamity processed what his brother had just said. Then, he punched Severin hard enough to crack his head to the side and actually cause him to lose his footing. "Stop it! Stop trying to ruin everyone's day!" he shouted, grabbing Severin's collar and yanking him up before he could fall down.

Severin jerked away from Calamity's grip, glaring at him through his messy hair and panting a little. It was the same case for Calamity. "Stop." he repeated to Severin.
