Quietly Darien watched the demonstration, making connections in her head. Garrett could, if this worked, manipulate earth, Sable wind, Jake fire, Niccolai water... But what did she and Jad do? How did one control life and death? She shuddered, looking to her stone. Feeling the buzz of power running through her veins, the girl was suddenly and inexplicably terrified.

Making the same connection as Damien, which was apparently made on her face, Jade became intrigued by her power. She was dieing to know how such a thing worked, could she point her finger at someone and have them just fall down dead? The thought sent a shiver up her own spine, the thought scaring even her. Still she had to know. "Miss? How does mine work? I don't really understand how I could have control over Death and Damien over Life. It's all rather confusing." She couldn't believe how calm she was being about this whole power thing. They had teleported from a clas.sroom to another planet or something. And now she was just curious about all this, she should have been terrified.

Jake too, was worried about his sister's power. The elements couldn't be that hard to figure out, you could easily see it coming and dodge... But Life and Death? It was just an idea, something that had been given a name but no deffinate answer to. How did one escape the wrath of Death in battle. It was all very confusing. And it wasn't even something he should have been worrying about. 

Niccolai stared down at his chest with wide blue eyes, then moved to face the fountain as he was told. He narrowed said eyes and focused on the shape that was in the stone, willing the water to change into the shape he had seen. When it began to do just that, Niccolai jumped, the water splashing back into the fountain. "How..." After that, he began speaking in rushed, startled Russian, his eyes wide as he took a step back. How had he been able to do that?!

  Sybil sighed at Jade's question. She had known it was coming, ever since she had done the reading that told her who these students are. Quickly, she went round the circle, taking cards and pressing the stones into their correct places; top of the head for Jade, third eye for Darien, throat for Sable, slightly above the navel for Jake, and base of the spine for Garrett. "Each of these stones is an amplifier for your power. It is a part of you. Four of you can control the elements. Two of you control the force of life and death. I would never have wished this upon any of you. Jade, to answer your question, yes. You can cause death with a touch. But only if the person is near death, or desires death. Never without some bridge to death. Dairen, you can bring a person back from the brink of death, save them from the very last breath, but only if they truly want to be saved. You two girls have the greatest responsibility out of any of us. I am confident that you will keep it with grace and integrity. You might not ever need to use your powers. We can hope, but we can never know. Now, my young elementals, play to your heart's content. This is my garden, planted and designed with you in mind. Use your powers to do as you will!" Sybil stepped back, drawing Darien and Jade with her, while Garrett was the first to begin to play. 

  He stared at the ground for a moment, concentrating with all his might. First, there was a low rumble, then a hummuck rose from the ground, growing untill it was the opening to a cave. "Yes!" the young man yelled, excited by his accomplishment. "Niccolai, Sable, Jake, come see what you can add to this!"

Niccolai moved over, then exhaled softly and began to slowly move his hands to direct hiis water better. He directed a stream of water, then started to make a shape out of it. "Sable, do you think your wind could freeze this?" he asked, grinning at the other boy rather happily. He wasn't sure if he could do that...but the result was going to be awesome!

Sable watched in amazement as the Sapphire was pressed into Niccolai's chest with the flash of light, then as he caused the water to rise out of the fountain. Sable wasn't sure how to react to all this. A different world? Strange powers? What was next? Some sort of shadow king trying to destroy all of Andrall? He felt a numb indifference to it all from the shock.

He shrunk back slightly when Professor Sybil tried to put the Topaz in his throat, althought he didn't actually dodge it. He closed his eyes for the flash of light and, once it eased, his hand immediately went to his throat, his eyes wide in surprise. It was much weirder having it happen to you then watching it happen to someone else. He slowly lowered his hand when he was sure having a gem in his throat wouldn't cause him to keel over and stared at both his hands. So... he could control wind now? He closed his hands into fists. He couldn't say he felt any different.

His eyes flicked over to the Professor as she finished putting the stones into the others, his eyes narrowing suspciously. All this was no coincidence nor accident. She was planning something, he just knew it from how prepared she'd been with these magic gems and how she seemed at ease here. But... she seemed like such a nice teacher. Surely she wasn't trying to do something bad to them. "A dangerous journey..." he murmured, the form of his The Fool card appearing cleary in his mind's eye.

Niccolai calling his name caught his attention, and Sable's head snapped up, his eyes wide as if he'd been startled. "Freeze it?" he murmured, going over to Niccolai's side to start at the form of water. "I could try." How did he control the wind, though? It took concentration, that was a given, but how did you control something you couldn't see? He closed his eyes, calming his mind and focusing on the energy flowing through his body. He expanded his concentration, focusing on the air around him. There was a slight breeze already, so he focused on that, extending his energy to it. It gusted around him, whipping his hair and clothes. Once he was certain he was in control of it, he visualized where the water was, and focused the wind on it. It gusted past him and he flinched, a chill going through him, but when he opened his eyes, the water was frozen into crystal-like ice. "I did it...." he whispered softly, looking stunned.

Jake looked about, searching for his element. He couldn't  see it, but he felt it, it had to be there somewhere. Suddenly his eyes rested upon a fire pit, already lit and blazing. "That's what I'm talking about. Easy as pie." He grinned, trying to control all of the fire from the pit. With a grin he tried to force it around but it fell out of his reach and landed on the ice sculpture or a... Polar bear? What ever it was, the heat from his flame melted it in a cloud of steam. The excess embers fell to the gras.sy earth and lit it on fire, which Jake tried to take control of by making it encircle the mini cave mountain thing. Finaly, after getting more control, he lifted the flame back up above the cave and shaped it into a star. "There. See that wasn't so bad." He looked around to see everyone else's reaction, but he noted his sister's face. Her jaw had dropped all the way to the ground.

"Why did it have to be fire? Why?" She sighed with a face palm. "Yo Jake! It's sweet that you want to help Darien practice her new abilities but please try to NOT kill us?" She shouted as she inched away from her brother nervously. "Fire, of all things it had to be fire." She stated again. 

  Sybil's face blanched when she saw Jake attempting to use his powers. "Oh, dear... Well, hopefully someone knew what they were doing when they selected this bunch. She sighed and led the others into the cavern, hoping that Jake would not set them all on fire when she handed him a torch to light.

  Inside, Garrett created a bench ringing the small space and a small fire pit in the center. "Come on in, everyone. I want you to ask all of the questions you have while we are here. Very soon, we will be ventureing outside of my home and garden and I want you to be prepared," Sybil said, gracefully taking a seat after gesturing Jake to start the fire and Niccolai and Sable to cool the tiny grotto.
