OoC: M'kay. Just makin' sure. I always worry it's what kills the roleplays I try to join. xD
... Yahhh. I have a friend who makes me feel like that. x3 She can write twice as much as I do in like, ten minutes. 'Course, she usually has a lot of typoes, but that's really the only way to tell she didn't take very long.
Must be really convenient.
Aaaaanyway.. Snap. Can't decide if I wanna be male or female.
I guess I'll go with female. It came to mind first for some reason when I read the plot. xD

Name: Jane.
Age: Twenty-seven. She'll punch you if you call her old. Teenagers..
Gender: Fee to the mail.
Artifact: Artifact? What? She calls you stupid and tells you to stop being cryptic. To get your head out of the kids' stories.
Appearance: Friggin' FAB. Oh. Well. She's.. somewhat lacking in height. Somewhat curvy. Still perfectly decent-looking though. Call her short or fat, and she'll punch you again. Twice.
She's got a pretty mature-looking face, though it's still round in places. Her hair's short and messy. Brown. Her clothes usually consist of just.. normal stuff. Jeans, a shirt of a random color. Occasionally she'll wear something a little fancier, like a dress with a belt and nice shoes, but usually that's just too much effort. And she thinks it looks silly if you do it every day.
Personality: Basically.. Jane isn't the most positive of people. She doesn't quite have a temper (she's like this all the time), but she's extremely judgmental and will get mad at you or think poorly of you if you cross her wrong. She can often come off as angry, snooty, and extremely self-centered. While she doesn't like the word snooty, she'd probably agree with you on the other two. She does not get along with most people.
However, she also has an odd curiosity for them too. It's almost masochistic - a person may annoy her in every way, yet something about them may also compel her to follow them and talk to them. It borders on obsession sometimes, and she'll openly admit this. In a blunt, negative-sounding way, of course.
History: Jane guesses she had an okay childhood. Nothing particularly bad.. Well. There was that one time she fell off a horse and broke her arm, but that got better. And there were those stories. She used to love 'em. Heroes, adventures.. all that stuff.
Then she realised it was just a story, like Santa. Reality and logic caught up. Her parents were a little worried at first at her gradually-changing attitude toward life, but they figured it was just some teenager thing, at the time. It kind of was. Man, she was a downer. Bad poetry and everything. She's mastered the art of negativity much better now.
Wait, no. She'd punch herself if she ever honestly tried to call it an art.

[[Who cares if it took a while to start, at least it did. I hate seeing good plot ideas die before they can even first lift...]]

Amber sighed, waking up from sleep. She wondered what she was going to do today... Maybe she would do something grand, like helping orphans or maybe she would just take a day off. Regardless, she would be unable to do anything while still was still in bed. So Amber got out of bed, got dressed, and made the bed. After that, she left the room to go to the kitchen and put a  pot of water onto the stove to boil, then went to the bathroom to brush her tangled hair.

The morning went on as normal for her, make tea and scrambled eggs, eat, play with the cat, ect. Oh, how boreing was being simply 'normal'. Amber hated it, having to live like a regular person. How she hated having to go to work and smile and do everything properly. But that was nothing compared to the worst ting, the people.

Amber hated people, all they cared about was themselves. They would complain about the smallest things that were nothing. And after they complained, they would try to push their problems onto someone else and blame other people. Not enough gas money? Lets complain and blame the president and the ecnomy! Lets try to rip the most people off and act like we're better with the least amount of brain power possible!

Amber got so worked up with he thoughts, she almost broke a gl*censored* cup in fustration. Almost, thank god, and she managed to get her temper under control.

(( XD  I love your character, Yoshi.  And what is masochistic?  Heck, I'm quite entertained just trying to pronounce it.  You and your fancy- pants words.

Yeah, been there done that, Rabbit.  The more elaborate rps always seem to move slower.  Then you get those rps that move at a mile a minute, which are usually about high school, or something boring like that.  'Cause that's exactly what I want to rp about when I come home from a long day at school.  More school.  Bleh.

Enough of my blabbering, though.  I'mma wait a while to reply to the actual rp again, to give others a chance to post.))

Xavier walked down the street with a sigh. Tomorrow was his little brother Novas birthday and the albino had been begging him for a cat. Don’t get him wrong, Xavier adored cats. They couldn’t get enough of him and he couldn’t get enough of them. Nova even considered him to be like one….
“You’re like a big cat Onii chan. You’re always climbing things and drinking gallons of milk. And you don’t even like dogs” He recalled his brother saying to him on more than one occasion. Not that he could disagree because it was all true. He liked taking naps in the middle of the day and was always lounging on a comfortable surface when he was bored. But then again he always found something to do.
He snorted at his thoughts. Maybe he was a giant cat. He stopped in front of the pet store called Happy Pets. It wasn’t a really big pet store but it wasn’t small either. He sighed and pushed the door open, and it made a small jingle.
“Welcome to happy pets!” said a teenage girl from the counter. He nodded as a greeting and started scanning the store with his sky blue eyes. He was an albino too but his skin was a little bit tan. He saw the cat aisle and walked to it with his hands in his pockets. “Ill get him a kitten so he can grow up with it” He said with a small smile.
He heard mewls and hisses as he turned the corner. He saw just about every type of cat. What type of pet store is this? He thought to himself. He walked down the aisle receiving large eyed stares from cats and kittens along the way. He stopped in mid step seeing an interesting looking kitten. It was a pure white and almost seemed to glow. It was curled in a ball so you couldn’t see its face. It had black paws and an interesting black design from its black tail to the middle of its head. The design went along his back. The tips of its ears were also black.
He turned fully to face the small kitten. He would be perfect for Nova He thought with a smile. As if the kitten read his thoughts it stirred and raised its head giving a small yawn. It looked at him with big bright red eyes. It uncurled itself and mewled at him.
“Hey there little guy” Xavier said softly in greeting. The kitten mewled again and got up getting closer to him. He smiled then saw something on the blanket that the kitten was laying on. The kitten seemed to notice and turned lifting up the blanket and showing him the map with a small mewl.

((New idearz-  Teh map be in fragments that must be pieced together.  I piggy- backed that from your post, Aoko, thank a-you~))

"I'm afraid this is only one part of the map, however."  Heidi continued, ignoring Sona's akward glances.  "The others...  Hmm....  Well, I have no idea where they could have gotten to.  But somehow, they will find their way to the heroes, I'm quite sure of it.  You may have this one if you'd like, I have no use for it."  And with that, she handed the map fragment to the girl and she grinned, taking a quick glare at her watch, which shimmered a silver tone.  "Closing time, or just about anyway.  Now where's your father, he should have clocked in by now..."  She trailed off, peering in either direction.

In a rushed manner, a rather tall and slender man appeared, smiling with a hope for forgiviness.  "I'm late, sorry.  Hehe...."  Sona observed her father's movements.  He was always so bubbly and fun, not much like herself.  She wished she were like him, and she often tried to mimmick his carefree personality.  No avail, however, for if she was Yin he was surely Yang.  She sighed, her smile displaying a somber note.  Her father seemed to notice her at this moment, his smile showing in a more friendly fashion.

After a quick catch up on their day, Sona's father decided he should get back to his duties, and Sona decided to enjoy the evening atmosphere.  She slowly paced her way to the exit of the museum, watching as the sun was making its escape beyond the horizon.  She sighed, though it was a sigh that hadn't reason.  She was prone to sighing, for whatever reason.  Perhaps this was a trait she'd picked up from her mother, whom she never did get to know well.

The sounds of the city were quite lively tonight, between the honking horns of impatient people returning home from work and the beautiful melody that sounded from the acordian that a man played outside a rather fancy looking Italian eatery. Lights shone from neon signs advertising the names of multiple bars and shops, as well as from the headlights of the cars that clustered the streets.  The city never did sleep, did it?

With an unusual burst of energy, Sona began to make her way down the sidewalk, just wishing to walk tonight.  The breeze was suttle, and yet so refreshing.  It was nights like this that made her worries fade, and overall allowed her to relax.  She pas.sed many stores and buildings, including The Cab- Inn, The Mamma Mia Pizzeria, and a little pet store titled 'Happy Pets'.  She gazed into the window at the large selection animals in various sized cages, each of them wanting the same thing.  A home.  She knew she couldn't have a pet though, and decided to continue on her merry way.

“Hey did you do that?” He asked with a chuckle. A cat drawing a map, that’s cool and weird, He thought to himself. The cat sat down and placed the cloth down as well. “No” it said in a ghostly male voice. Xavier rose an eyebrow; he looked left then right but didn’t see anyone. He looked back at the cat “Did you just-“
“Yes” the cat said cutting him off. Xavier staggered back “Holy crap that- you- a cat just talked to me!!” he said freaking out. The cat sighed. “Calm down before you make a complete fool of yourself, people are starting to stare.” Xavier turned seeing a few kids staring at him like he had two heads. He laughed nervously “It was a toy”. The kids shrugged and walked away. He reverted his eyes back to the cat.
“Listen to me, you have to Adopt me right now.” The cat said firmly. Xavier rose and eyebrow. “I was planning on it until you freaking talked. Cats don’t normally talk. I never had a real conversation with a cat in my life. Heck not even Garfield.” He said a little weary of the cat. The cat face palmed “Look, just hurry up and adopt me so that you can fulfill your destiny” the cat said with a sigh. “Not much of a rhymer are you?” The cat hissed. “Sorry, sorry, this is just new to me.” Xavier retorted. The cat nodded in understanding “It will all be explained in due time, wielder of the tiger pendant.” The cat said
“Tiger pendant? What’s that supposed to mean?” The cat’s eyes turned blue and it blinked in confusion. “Mew?”It said looking at him. Xavier raised an eyebrow but sighed. The girl from the counter came over to him “May I help you with something sir?” she asked with a smile. He sighed again “Um yes, I would like to adopt this kitten” he said returning the smile. She nodded and unlocked the cage grabbing the kitten and giving it to him. The kitten purred in his arms and snuggled against him. He looked at the cat and smirked. I don’t know if I’m going crazy or not, but I gotta feeling something big is about to happen He thought.
The girl took out the blanket “This is his favorite one, do you want to keep it?”She asked. He saw the incomplete map. “Yeah sure. He likes it so why not” he retorted. The girl nodded and handed it to him. I wonder where the rest of the map is and where it leads He thought.

OoC: I actually kind of hate fancy-pants words. xD If there's a simpler word for something, I'll prob'ly use it.
Buuut. A masochist is a person who enjoys pain. 'Course, she doesn't actually enjoy talking to people who annoy her - she just does it. That's why it's only 'almost'. x3

"Hey, Terry! D'you know if we have any more hamster pellets around here?" Jane peeked her head out of the storage room in the pet store. "We're starting to run- Oh, come on."

Of course. Terry wasn't at the counter. As usual. She was always finding some reason to run off - customer service, she always said. Right. Because bothering people while they looked for a new best friend forever was always more important than taking care of the animals. Jane put the squeaking lump of fur she was holding back into one of the pins, brushed her front off, and set out to find her missing coworker.

Ugh, it always took forever to find the girl, too. Happy Pets wasn't a very big store at all, but whoever designed the layout for the stacks of pins was either a junky for maximising space or just a complete idiot. Probably both, really. Even after having worked at this place for weeks, Jane still couldn't consistently find her way around. It was like a labyrinth. A furry, squawking, smelly, high-maintenance labyrinth.

"Terry!" Jane called out as she walked alongside all the kittens and bunnies and little rodent-type things, up and down row after row of fuzzballs. "Terryyyy! Would you please stop playing freaking hide-and-seek with me so I can ask-" Oh. There she was. Finally. But the girl obviously wasn't going to listen - she was busy handing some punk-haired, tattooed-up musclehead a kitten. God, was it hard not to bust out laughing at the sight. Jane definitely would have if it didn't mean getting fired for making fun of a customer.

"T.. Terry," she laughed ever so slightly. "Do you.." She coughed a couple times to cut off any more laughing. Be serious now.. "Do you know if we have any more hamster pellets? My shift's almost over, but.. agh. I know I'll be in the heap if I leave 'em hungry for whoever comes in after me."

Aaand Terry just kept talking to the customer. Great. Fabulous. Ignored.

Sona sighed, considering something as she came to a dead halt.  She took a step back, and another, peering into the pet store again.

"Dad won't mind if I get something small."  She as.sured herself, glancing down at the spending money her father had given so she could buy herself something, which she rarely had the treat of doing.  Her eyes widened in suprise.  "Sixty dollars!?"  She exclaimed, the money tucked proudly away in her left pocket.  It was about then that she noticed a note attached to a twenty, and she plucked the yellow sticky note off the bill.

'Here's a little something for yourself, I know I don't buy you much.  Go and get whatever you'd like.  With love, your father.'  The shocked girl read with an excited grin.  And with that, she sauntered into the store, taking a wide gander at the large seletction of creatures.

There were critters of every shape, size, and texture.  Big, small, fuzzy, scaly, tall, short, slimy.  You name it, it was there.  But what did this little albino girl want?  Perhaps something that shared her unique pale skin and red tinted eyes.  Or perhaps something of the exact opposite, with black silky fur and deep blue eyes.  The selection was virtually endless, or so it seemed to Sona, who'd only been in a pet store once before.

It didn't take long for the girl to realize she'd never be able to choose a pet on her own, so she began to look for an employee.  She noticed one who looked idle at the moment, and slowly she approached her.

"Ma'am?"  She shyly tried for her attention.  "Do you think you could help me find a good pet for someone who's never had one before?"  She wondered if what she'd said even made sense.  She decided it did, or partially at least.

((Where'd everyone go?  I know more than just the few of us joined this Rp :( ))

XAvier walked with the girl who gave him papers and he gave her money to adopt the cat. He picked the kitten up in his arms and it cocked his head at him. He smirked. "Im gonna get you the rest of the things you need before i leave"He said walking back to the cat aisle.

The girl nodded and heard her name being called. " I have something i have to do, if you need anything ill be around"She said with a small smiled and ran off. He shrugged and the kitten smiled.

Xavier looked around "See anything youd like?" he asked the kitten. The kitten mewled and started playing with a mout stuff animal. He chuckled "Guess were going with this, and what else?" he said looking around. He saw a black collar with blue designs and thought it would be perfect for the kitten.

He grabbed it and showed it to the ball of fur. "What do you think about this one?"He asked him. The kitten mewled happily in response. Xavier chuckled and nodded.

OoC: Nyehhh. I feel like I'm rambling so much. Not used to roleplaying in normal, everyday settings anymore. xD

Ugh, whatever. Fine. If Terry wanted to ignore her, then maybe Jane would just let the next guy on duty find the hamster food. It couldn't be that big a deal. They were all fat enough anyway. Like plump little pincushions, or Tribbles with faces or something. Yeah. They could easily pa-ss off as Tribbles. They squeaked constantly, they probably ate more than elephants and whales combined, and there always seemed to be a million of 'em. Perfect match.

But, standing around thinking about Star Trek sure wasn't as fun as it should have been, and while she was still in uniform she might end up stuck into doing more work. Jane guessed she'd just head back into the storage room, find her normal clothes, clock out, and go do.. oh, something else. Something that involved food. Man, she was hungry. Hungrier than elephants and whales com-

What?

Crap. Suddenly there was a little.. creepy-looking girl with red eyes, asking about pets. Jane thought about just ignoring her, but of course, she'd get in trouble. There were a lot of things she'd like to do that could get her fired, really - like making a monster out of vegetables and unleashing all the rodents to bring it down and eat its bones, like some kind of horror movie. Yep. The managers told her she couldn't. It sucked.

Oh, right. The scary girl. "Um. Well.." Jane floundered. She really wanted to say cats since they were right there, but she knew she was told during training that there were some that were great for beginners. It wasn't the lizards, no.. Wait. Rats, that was it!

"How.. would you feel about a rat? They're, uh.." Negative words filled her head. Terrible. Stupid. Evil. "Smart. And we keep ours pretty social - one of the guys who works nights 'round here always goes around and talks to all the animals." She couldn't help but laugh a little at the thought of him. He was such a freaking weirdo.

((Sorry, Yosh, it wouldn't be as much of an everyday setting if people would post their intros so we could actually get into the main story with the artifacts and such.  This is just a stall, honestly XD  I actually didn't even want it to take place in the city, but I find that to be the easiest place to just ramble on and make stall- posts about.

XP  Oh gawd.  I lol'ed when I got to that part about the vegetable monster.))

"A rat...?"  Her eyes squinted in a thoughtful way.  They seemed sorta...  Well...  Creepy?  That wasn't even the word to describe them.  She thought deeper, at the same time searching her surrounding for a new best friend.  Or more like just a best friend, considering she didn't quite have one, nor had she ever.

Not far away, she saw a teenager who looked to be older than herself and rather buff.  And he had in his hands....  A kitten?  How strange, but Sona wasn't one to critize, after all, she must have looked strange with her blood- colored eyes and her pale skin, which was comparable to freshly fallen snow.

Back to the pets, however, as she could tell the woman was growing impatient.

It was in the far right corner that she noticed an open pen, taking several steps in that direction to get a closer glance.  There was a wide as.sortment of rabbits, some hopping about while others were nibbling on stray carrots that seemed to be scattered along with a blend of other veggies.  A particular one caught her eye, a somewhat small one who, like herself, was albino.  It's fur was of medium length and pure white, not to mention quite sleek and silky- looking.  It's eyes, though, were not as harsh a red as hers.  Lucky rabbit.  And it looked to be well- nourished and healthy, not like she knew anything about rabbits, though.

The eager girl glared back, making sure the employee hadn't left.  "How about this bunny?"  She asked, pointed to the one she'd come to favor.

OoC: Bumpsman. I guess I could post, but.. well. Did everyone die? xD You're right - hardly anyone's posted intros. And only you and I have posted since a week ago.
It kinda makes me sad. This is like, the first new roleplay I've found in a long time where I actually fit in. I don't feel like a freak for making long posts. I don't feel like I'd have to worry about trying to keep my character from getting godmoded to the ground every other post if a fight ever came up. I don't feel like fun is going to take a back seat to romance and angst.
... And here it looks like it's dying. :C

((Aww, that's so kind Yoshi...  And yet sad.  Yeah, this is how all my Rps turn out.  I put some good time into thinking of a different, unique plot and several people join, only to be swept away by Romance and Warrior Cat Rps.  And then about a week after the thread dies I find one similar to mine.  I believe I was the first to create a Gijinka Pokemon thread, and after mine it all went south for those poor gijinkas.  Well, for the most part anyways.  I guess people just can't think of their own ideas anymore, and have to base their Rps off books, tv shows, movies, and such.

Well, here I am rambling again XD  I think this is about it for this thread.  I only wish people were more committed.  Sorry for the disappointment, Yoshi D; ))

OoC: Hm. Well. One more bump, just in case. x3 You might try commenting on people's profiles, even. I've done that before, and it usually worked decently. They just tend to forget they're in a roleplay sometimes 'cause they're in so many others too.
And if not.. well. I guess it's back to stalking the board then. P:

The kitten in Xaviers hand kept playing with a stuffed fish "Guess il get that"He chuckled. The albino looked seeing a girl who was he guessed, another albino with red eyes looking at him weird. He sighed. Ok it was weird that he, of all people, was carrying around a small kitten but he wasnt as dangerous as he looked. He was a softy at heart, was that so wrong?

He pushed his thoughts aside and focused on the kitten. He had gotten mostly everything he had needed. "Novas gonna really like you"He said with a small smile. He sure hoped he did. He was being gawked at like he had three heads for his sake. The attention made him feel alittle uncomfortable. Cant a guy buy a cat without people staring, ok kitten whatever.

He decided to walk around a little with the kitten. He was a bit bored anyway. He kept seeing the girl with the red eyes in the corner of his eyes. strange but cool He thought to himself. He had a knack for weird things, her eyes for example.
