((Introduction))

As I drew back the arrow loaded into my bow and aimed it at the deer in front of me, I heard the slightest of noises behind me. The deer picked its head up, and peered over at me, or rather the thing that had made the noise, which was behind me. The deer ran off, disappearing into the brush. I growled, and turned around to face what had made the noise.

I was not expecting what I came face to face with. A demon. And a powerful one at that. His red eyes stared into mine. He looked fairly human, other than how pale his skin was, and the marks that were on it, along with his blood-red hair.

"What do you want, demon?" I said, glaring at him.

"Hello, daughter," he said, brushing some of my hair out of my face with his clawed fingers.

"Excuse me? You must have me confused with someone else." I pushed his hand away from my face.

"Layla, I would never confuse you with someone else. Why do you think that your eyes are an inhuman gold color?" He grabbed my shoulder, looking a bit woozy. His eyes got a look of pain in them, and then he fell on top of me.

"Ugh!" I said, pushing him off of me. "What's your problem? And how do you know my name?!" I almost growled.

"You're my daughter, Layla." He transformed into a human, who looked very much like me, except older, and that he was a boy.

I gaped. "Wh-what the hell?!" I backed up, falling over a tree root so that we were eye level. "Is this some sick trick, demon?"

"I wouldn't fool my own daughter. You have my blood running through your veins. You would know if this was a trick, Layla. Have you ever seen a person with eyes like yours?"

I thought about his question. The truth was, I had never seen anyone with golden eyes like mine. "No."

"That's because you're half demon." He reached out, his fingers reaching for my head. I pulled back, but it was all in vain. He grabbed my arm, and forced me to allow him to put his index finger on my forehead.

Immediately, I understood. This man- no, demon- was my father. And he was about to die. After knowing hardly anything about my heritage and my family, it all flooded through my head, passing over my eyes.

He pulled back, and I gasped for air. By this time I had tears running down my face. "No! You can't die! I've finally met my father, and now I'll never get to know him..." I sniffled.

"Layla, don't cry." He let out a weak smile. "Do you know what your task is?"

"Yes, father. I have to find the blood stone, and stop the imperial army."

"But you won't do it alone. You'll go and find the other demons' children. Place your finger on their head, and they'll know everything, too."

"But how will I know if they're the demons' children?"

"They won't look normal, Layla. There will be something different about them. Whether it's a strange birth mark, the color of their eyes, or the color of their hair. They won't look human."

And at that, my father took his last breath, and died with a smile on his face. I stood up, and prepared to look for the others. I had to leave tonight.

((Plot))

The evil emperor of Rionara has started to form the strongest imperial army ever seen by man, and only the six demons know about it. He plans to use the army to take all freedom away from the citizens of Rionara, and force them to follow his every command. Only one thing stands in their way; demons.

In the land of Rionara, the demons roam the land freely. The demons have two forms; demonic and human. The demonic form is simply horrifying, while the human form is attractive. The demons occasionally have... affairs (Let's just say that...), and produce half-demon, half-human offspring. All of the demons are male, but their offspring can be male or female.

However, the demons, which actually protect the land, are dying at the hands of the imperial army, because they knew about the evil emperor's plan, and only one found it's offspring. That demon was the demon of memory, also known as Akalien. He had a daughter named Layla. He passed on memories of what she needed to do, and how she was to save the world from the imperial army. But to do that, she will need help from the other half demons in order to find the Blood Stone.

The Blood Stone was known as merely a legend, but there are rumors that there are clues all over Rionara as to where it is hidden. However, the clues are written in the language of the demons, and only demons, and their offspring can read it.

The demon children have an important quest to fulfill. Many dangers lay ahead of them. It won't be easy, but they must do it for the sake of Rionara.

- This is a literate roleplay. If you aren't literate, don't even think about joining. Sorry if this is a bit blunt, but I worked hard on this thread. I don't want it to be filled with one liners.

- Join as both a male and a female. If you decide to make two females, make two males. Get it?
- We are only playing as the half-demons. The imperial army and the evil emperor will be NPCs.
- No gay/bi/lesbian characters.
- If you have a mini-plot in mind, r-mail me about it. If I like it, I will tell you it's okay to put it into effect.
- Yes, this roleplay was inspired by a Japanese song called, "Scarlet Demon of the Pavement".
- Don't just join this roleplay and drop out a week later. That will make me very, very angry.
- No Mary/Gary Sues.
- Don't make your character super special.
- There are limited spots to this roleplay. If you don't get one, don't throw a hissy fit.
- I play as the Demon of Memory's offspring, Layla.
- When you ask to join, post which demon's offspring you want to be.
- Each demon's offspring has two. No demon has the same power. When the demon dies, he passes his powers on to his offspring. That is how the demons' offspring get their powers.
- You may only join as one of the demons' offspring listed below.

((Setting))

Rionara is a land full of mythical creatures. There are demons, unicorns, pegasi, griffons, dragons, and many others that live along side the more realistic creatures such as deer and dogs.

The Countries:

All of the countries are ruled by the one evil emperor mentioned in the plot. However, the countries have gotten out of hand, and are at war with eachother.

Flainde- Flainde is a large country full of desert. There is one particular lake in the middle that is said to have a sea monster in it that will kill anyone that ventures into the deep. Gypsies roam the land of Flainde, and set up caravan cities where you can buy goods. The capitol of Flainde is the largest caravan city you'll every come across, Jylairn. This is the only place in Flainde that the relics made out of stone have been converted into hotels, and are working perfectly. Electricity is rare to find in Flainde, but it it plentiful in Jylairn. Sand fish are plentiful here, and you must be very careful about the giant sand scorpions. They are very dangerous, and are reputable man killers. Antelopes and camels roam the land along with coyotes.

Kaleila- Kaleila is a mountainous country full of small villages. Some gypsies can be found around this area, but they aren't anywhere near as plentiful as they are in Flainde.  There is a lake at the top of a mountain. Large villages can be found around the crater, and there are large fish that are good for eating in the lake. Be careful of the wolves, though. Mountain goats, mountain lions, and hardy cattle roam the land. The capitol city, Mech, is found on the northern side of the lake.

Thelaiw- Thelaiw is a country covered in very dense forests. There are small paths through the trees that lead to the capitol city, Girolly. Bandits lurk in the forests, prepared to attack, rob, and kill you. Deer are plentiful here, and so are wolves. However, the wolves are a bit more mellow here than they are in Kaleila. But don't get too comfortable, because wild boars roam the land.

Aikiila- Aikiila is a very cold country. It is plagued by very, very harsh winters. Polar bears and penguins are plentiful here, along with the seldom-seen pegasi. Be careful of the places where there is open water. The lake fish are very aggressive, and have mouths full of teeth. The capitol city is Frigira. This is the one place where electricity can be found in this cold, cold area. The emperor has an under ground facility that he is preparing the imperial army under Frigira.

There are many more countries, but these are the main ones. There are oceans separating most of the countries, and all of the countries don't really like the others.

*Note: All of the demons' offspring are in Kaleila. Once Layla gathers all of them up, they will begin to journey to other countries in search of the Blood Stone.

Gender: Female
Appearance: Layla is a petite girl. She stands at only 5'4", and has pale skin. Layla has thick, wavy black hair that trails down to her mid-back. Layla's bangs occasionally get in her face, but she doesn't mind. Layla's eyes are an inhuman gold color that almost seems to glow and pull you in. Layla's outfit consists of a light brown dress that has a dark brown belt around the waist. Due to her dress being quite short (It's basically a shirt with flowy edges.), she wears a pair of dark brown shorts underneath it. Layla's feet are usually bare, but if she was to wear shoes, she would wear a simple pair of leather moccasins. Layla wears a black leather bracelet around her left wrist.
Personality: Layla is persistant, forgiving, and can be a bit emotional at times.

Appearance: Jason stands at nearly six feet tall. He is quite muscular, and plans on keeping it that way. He has a well-built torso, and long, lean muscles along his arms and legs. Jason has light blue eyes that seem to almost be white, but they don't look freaky. Jason's skin is nicely tanned, and his hair is as white as snow. It is shaggily cut, and occasionally covers one of his eyes. Jason usually wears a black v-neck t-shirt, faded jeans, and a pair of black converse.
Personality: Jason mainly stays quiet, and he tends to look at the glass as being half-full. He is very caring, and loves animals.
History: Ugh.

Name: Alessandra Nyoka

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Alessandra is no conventional beauty and loves it that way. She stands proudly, being fairly tall at 5'7", and has pale Caucasian skin dotted with freckles here and there. Though they are pale and overall there aren't many, most of them are concentrated on her nose and cheeks, with a few spotting her arms. She has strong features that includes a straight, slightly too-large nose, plain eyes and grinning lips. Her eyes are bright blue in color that darken towards the center, where they are ringed with bright orange. Alessandra is very lithe and athletic, with a wiry body rather than willowy. She has few curves and tries not to 'flaunt' herself in front of others. Alessandra has dark black hair that she keeps in a short and messy cut. It just barely reaches her shoulders. Her only unique aspect is the fact that she has two 'mini-fangs', or sharp canines. They are not as pronounced as they would be in an animal, but sharp enough to tear skin should she bite someone.

She prefers wearing plain dark-gray shorts that reach her thigh and a plain dark blue v-neck shirt. On her feet she has old running shoes that are fairly worn.

Personality: Alessandra can be sharp and cutting or can be sympathetic and kind. It really depends on who the other person is. She's a sucker for children and loves the crazy things, doing whatever they want with little thought for herself. On the other hand she is reserved around people her age and even more so to older adults. While not shy around men when she gets into an intimate encounter with one she does have a minor panic attack. She hates proximity when it asks for more than just simple comfort. Alessandra also has a fiery tongue, though it doesn't often come into play (due to my failure as an rper who can't role-play witty combacks :U).

Gender: Female 

Appearance:

She has long, wavy brown hair which curls slightly and bangs which hide half of her face. Sometimes, her hair can seem to have an almost red look to it. Her skin is dotted with freckles and is slightly tan. She supports dimples when she smiles, and her cheeks usually beam a nicy rosy pink hue.

She is tall, being 5'7", although her legs make up most of that height. She is nice and thin, but not underweight. Almost perfect that way. Almost. But all human forms for demons are supposed to look angelic. If only she were.

Maya has eyes which reflect her powers. They are whistling gray with flecks of silver in them. Her pupils seem like a pale, ashy gray color. She has great vision.

Maya is the kind, wouldn't hurt a fly type of person/demon. She abhors violence of all kinds, and will go at all lengths to stop it. She is generally timid, and hates meeting new people. She keeps to herself, and doesn't really talk very much. Although she had friends, she still cosider's herself to be a social outcast.

Maya is a history-nut, and knows everything and anything to do with the subject. In school, she got all A's there, and passed with high honors. If you want to know something about the history of someone, thing, place or anything else, she's your girl.

Other?:  She has a wonky knee which sometimes causes her pain while running. She's not entirely sure how she got the injury, only that she's had it for years.

Name: Alyssa Ring
Age: Eighteen
Gender: Female
Appearance: Alyssa has a fair skin tone, with pale freckles dotting her nose, cheeks, and few in places like her arms and legs. Her hair is a simple brown, not light brown nor dark. She keeps it a little past shoulder length and it is straight, with it center part. Her build is slender, and she is tall, standing at 5'9''. Her legs make up most of her height, and most people ask her if she runs or plays basketball. 

Alyssa has always hated her eyes, which are literally a light purple color, similar to a lilac shade. She has always received compliments about them ever since she was little, and she hates attention drawn to herself.  

Personality: Alyssa's pretty much a loner. People know her, and she's not neccessairily a 'loser,' but she doesn't like to talk much. It's more that she's super-paranoid about everything and everyone for no reason aside from the fact that she always feels like people are hiding things from her. If you are one of the lucky few that break through Alyssa's paranoia, you'll know that she has a rather dry, sarcastic sense of humor and is surprsingly sly and cunning.

History: It's been pretty normal so far. Grew up with just a mom, since she obviously didn't know who her dad was.

Appearance: Aaron, being her twin brother, obviously looks a lot like Alyssa. He has fair skin, freckles on his nose and cheeks(he has more than Alyssa), and plain brown hair cut in this fashion. He's not as skinny as his sister, being a little more muscular but not really burly. He is, though, tall like Alyssa, standing three inches taller at an even six feet. Also like Alyssa, he has those unnatural lilac-colored eyes, but unlike his sister, he enjoys them.

Personality: As cliche as it may be, Aaron is almost the opposite of his sister. He's athletic, sociable, and friendly, and enjoys other's company. He can be a little full of himself at times, and his sister is always keen to remind him of that. Aaron's also a big flirt, and enjoys it when girls go crazy over him (See? Full of himself!). He's intelligent, humorous, and very persuasive.
