In a large chamber of an abandoned castle, there was a round panel inlaid into the ground. At ech point as there would have been on a clock, stood a spire, each engraved with a sign of the Zodiac. Ares at twelve, Taurus at one, Gemini at two, Cancer at three, Leo at four, Virgo at five, Libra at six, Scorpio at seven, Sagitarrius at eight, Capricorn at nine, Aquarius at ten, and Pisces at eleven. From each pillar ran a vein of gold, which contributed to a stand at the center that held a giant pearl, it's surface ever-shifting. Despite the ruins around them, this chamber was not destroyed, only the roof broken slightly, a single ray of moonlight falling on the pearl at midnight. But it was not yet midnight.
On each of the pillars, or around, in some cases, there was a creature. On Ares, a ram sat in front of the pillar, very solemn and quiet. Taurus had a shy-looking bull standing behind it's pillar, and Gemini had two human twins sitting on the pillar's flat top, both garbed in wolf pelts, and both arguing with the Cancer. Cancer had a giant crab sitting on it's top, arguing with anyone he could. Leo had a lioness on it's top, seeming rather amused at the antics going on, while Virgo's goat was trying her best to get everyone at peace from her perch at the pinnacle of her own pillar. Libra's pillar was dominated by a huge white dragon, and the stone itself was covered in gouges. The dragon seemed to snicker at the going-ons, and even encouraged it, the Scorpio's scorpion glancing at all of them mischeviously. Sagitarrius's cenataur was pacing calmly around it's pillar, and Capricorn's, well, capricorn, was watching the pearl lazily, his finned tail waving back and forth. At the top of the Aquarius pillar sat a simply-clothed man, a cape billowing around he rock below him, and he glanced over at the Pisces pillar often, where a jug of water sat on the top, two kois circling each other endlessly.
The bickering and arguing continued until the moon rose to its peak, and the moonlight illuminated the pearl in the middle, the light flashing to lay a beam on the sign of each pillar. The chamber went silent. It was the dragon who spoke up first.
"My friends and my enemies. I have called this meeting, off of schedule, to alert you to the danger of the world. Humans are trying to capture us, trying to control our power. We are strong, but if enough try, we cannot resist. Now that this is at attention, are there any ideas as to how to stop this?"
The Lioness stood, yawning widely. She purred softly, fixing the dragon with gentle eyes.
"Why do we no just be kind to them? Maybe then they will leave us alone?"
"Oh, and wait for them to decide that 'Oh, they're just pushovers, let's go get them'? I THINK NOT."
It was the crab who spoke, quite loudly and rudely.
"I say, since humans are lousy and worthless, and no one needs them, we just destroy them. I mean WE ARE THE CHOSEN ANIMALS. WHY NOT?"
The goat looked troubled, and soon spoke up to the a.ssembly.
"But was it not us who were told humans would save us?"
After that, the goat and crab argued, until the dragon roared, gesturing to the pearl.
"It is not long until the moon leaves the pearl. Now, what shall we do?"
They all turned to look at the ram, who'd gotten to the top of her pillar, and now stood quietly, looking at the moon through the hole in the roof. Everyone looked to her as a leader, as she was the oldest of them.
"I think I have a solution. Humans are trying to get us, right? Not each other. We should each take a human host. I have known this was coming since our last meeting when I had to take a long route home to avoid humans. I have thought, long and hard, and consulted every resource I have. We must take human hosts. It has been done before."
This started and uproar, but the dragon interrupted with a roar.
"Let Ares finish."
"Thank you Libra. Anyways, we would lose most of our memories, but upon the first blue moon of our host's 18th year, we would be drawn here, where we would regain our memories, and, if we wished, leave our hosts. I propose we do this."

WOO! Random plot. Anyways, there are 12 teenagers, each 18 or about to be 18, and each born of a different star sign, only thing is, while they are regular humans, they hol their hiding star sign. Due to the Zodiacs' power, their traits come out in their host. Ex: The Pisces kid loves to swim, the Sagitarrius kid loves to ride horses, etc.
But, the blue moon is next month, and none of the kids know anything about the supernatural beings they house.
