Rue was astonished, for Ryu had done it again. He changed so suddenly. Although, it wasn't his fault and Rue knew that. Through his whole rage and blow out she kept reminding herself that it was all her fault, though she wanted desperately to yell back at him. She held his gaze for as long as he would allow. She wondered if he could see the sadness in her eyes that has started to grow. She has been such a burden on him from the beginning, she understood that, but his words weren't making sense. She had apologized and told him that she was the one at fault, so why was he yelling?
Rue let out a silent sigh. This is why I don't talk to guys, this is why I don't talk at all! The words I say are never the right thing and it all just gets into a mess!! I can't take it! Her thoughts were fierce, but she held them in this time. She hated seeing Ryu like this, and when he tore his shirt so she could see the faint white lines that mapped him, she tore her eyes away from him and looked in the opposite direction. She couldn't stand to see his painful memories, she felt even worse for what she had said, but at the same time she wanted to yell at him for being so stupid.
In her head she yelled; Gah! Haven't you heard a word of my apology? I said sorry and it wasn't your fault. You say that your the one who is messed up, have you seen me? Have you even met me?! I yell at you for no reason, and it's because I'm afraid to trust you! How stupid can you be? Why cant you see that there is no need to apologize?! You say that you are your emotions aren't right but through all your yelling and outburst, you still find a way to show your kindness. You just blamed yourself for what I should be at blame for. You really are stupid.
Her heart was pounding at a rapid rate, and by the time she was done with her rant to herself, she was surprised. Rue was surprised that she hadn't said any of it out loud, but she was curious why. Then Kuma started to meow. Rue looked down and realized that she had been petting him the whole time, she also realized that through her rant in her head, that the room had been filled with a heavy silence. A smile lit on Rue's face as she tried not to laugh, and through her efforts giggles escaped, she was delighted that she had some control over her blunt personality.
She stood up from the bed and put Kuma down where she was sitting. Then Rue walked the short distance to Ryu, and sat down next to his defeated body. Hesitantly she ran her fingers threw his snowy locks. She took her time doing so, and tried to be as gentle as ever. With a smile on her face she said, "Your right they are soft!" She looked down at her hand that was just in Ryu's hair, "It's funny, I can still feel the softness in my hands." Then she turned towards Ryu and hoped she was saying the right things. She chose each word carefully, "There is nothing to be sorry about. Every one makes mistakes, right? You, me, even that little girl that caused this curse." She sighed and looked Ryu full in the face, hoping that he would meet her eyes, "You shouldn't be sorry for who you are and what you are. The fact that those humans cant recognize a good soul when they see one is their loss. I know I shouldn't be the one to talk, but I meant what I said about your hair and you, though I am not going to repeat one bit of it." She tried to sound teasing in the last part of her sentence, but she was serious, "Anyways, arguing isn't going to solve anything, if we want to make a change and not be treated like this anymore, we have to find a way to reverse the curse." She sighed again, "Ryu," She let his name float in the air for a while before saying softly, "Are we friends? I-if that's the case, I don't want to lose my only friend by the hastiness of my words and emotions. I will try to become better and be kinder, but will you promise me that if I yell at you again, you will try to ignore my words, or else knock me to my senses?" It was ironic, Rue was now the one to say things so suddenly.

((Sorry guys. My mom has been in the hospital so I was busy doing the daily things. Laundry, cooking, all that. Sorry I took so long. And I'm gunna make two separate posts.))
Nova gave a little giggle when she started talking about her hair, like she wanted someone to just ask her about it. He couldn't help the smile that spread across his face at the knowledge of her hair color. He didn't miss the reach out, but he wasn't going to bring that up, just in case. White huh? Wait, white? That boy! There was a boy here with that same colored hair. Maybe it wasn't the fact that the barrier was keeping her hair from changing, maybe.. No.. His hair was like that all the time, he was sure of it. Or.. Nah, he couldn't be like her. Each dryad, or so he was told, had something different about them. He had two different eyes. She had hair that changes based on the seasons. And that boy must just have white hair.
When she asked him a questions, he shook himself from his mind ramblings. He looked toward the town center, though he couldn't exactly see the tree from this particular alley. He noticed that tree too. It never really wilted or lost its leaves. People could throw trash at it, but the trash seemed tone gone the next day. It never got watered, but stayed green and healthy, where other plants start wilting. He blinked a couple time. That tree was weird, right? "Yeah.. I noticed it's not that normal. I mean, I've watched humans for a while and they don't go near it. They don't even walked by it. I mean, kids won't even go near it." He shrugged.
"Quite honestly, I don't know what's up with that tree. Even the old woman I normally talk to doesn't talk about the tree. I've asked, but she always changes the subject to what I observed for the day." He sighed and dug through his pack, pulling out the pastry that was now squished all over its wrapping. He tossed it into the dumpster and stood up. "Ya know, we should either go see what's up with that tree, or get somewhere safer." He really didn't wanna be outside,

Ryu rubbed the heels of his hand in his eyes, not wanting more frustrated tears from falling. This girl could seriously get under his skin like nobody else. She was the only person he ever talked to, sure, but she just pushes all the right buttons. It annoyed him to no end that he just met her and already she knew just how to break down his walls. He hissed to himself and when he felt a hand in his hair, he jumped. He flinched away from her and grabbed his coat i his hands. He may have made the wrong move, but he had forgotten she didn't run away.
His eyes softened a bit, brightening to their normal green color. He kind of looked like a kicked puppy or how he looked when the villagers gave him a rather harsh time. He looked down at his arms and noticed they were uncovered. He showed her! He hastily pulled the Ackerman on while she spoke and when he got that on, he felt Kuma brush against him. He looked at Rue and blinked before smiling again, reining in his emotions. He nodded softly to her question. "Yes. We are friends.. I can't promise that though.. I'm not sure u could ignore what you say to me." He shrugged a little.
He looked down at his Lao, where Kuma decided to stay. "I'm sorry for my outburst. I don't mean to be angry at you or anything like that. I swear it. I mean, you're not at fault for my outbursts." He sighed slightly.

[[Awe! I'm sorry Ru, I hope your mom feels better. Take as long as you need to post, kay?]]
Rue sighed. Her attempt to never make Ryu mad again was a complete failure. "Well, I guess it cant be helped then," She said softly. She really didn't want to have little disputes with him all day. She wondered if it was because they are Dryad and are forced to live this way, in solitude, that their emotions were easy to toy with. She giggled a little and her eyes slowly drifted to Kuma who looked quite content now that both of them had made up. A soft smile lit her face as she once again spoke, quite softly, "I'm just curious how many time we will have our little outbursts today." Her curiosity was mainly to herself, but she spaced and spoke aloud.
Luckily she caught her mistake, "Anyways, about what you said before, about the barrier, maybe we wouldn't have to bring it down to get out?" She ignored his apology, he wasn't the one at fault, and no matter times she told him, the words seemed to go directly over his soft white locks. He was so kind, but he seemed stubborn not to accept what she told him over and over again. But aside from that matter, she continued, "I mean, we should try anything possible to get out. We only have a year to live. And like you said, the Dryads, our mothers, got in and out quite easily, and we are part of them."
Rue sighed, it shouldn't be that easy. She tried to think of ways to get out of this retched place. She thought about the apple tree and the power it possessed. "Maybe we could use a part of the apple tree to get out. It holds great powers right? Maybe if we take a leaf, it will hold off the barrier while we escape? Sort of like fighting fire with fire." She sighed again and ran her fingers through her raven black hair. It was nothing like Ryu's hair. His was soft and clean, while hers had a rough feel to it, like you were running your hands through tree branches with a few soft spots, as if the branches had flowers on them.
She looked down at her hand that she had just ran through her hair, the same hand that had ran through Ryu's. Rue remembered his reaction to this very well, and it pained her to think that he was the one running away. However, the pain was filled with the idea that Ryu was her friend. Friend. now that is a word that brings back horrible memories.
"You know, when I was younger, and when my eyes started to darken drastically, the kids at the school I had used to go to would tease me. Their parents all warned them that I was dangerous and an outcast and that I was the one that would kill them all, one of these days." Rue didn't know why she was telling this story, but she couldn't help herself, the words were pouring out of her mouth. She paused for a second and realized her eyes were on his scar, she quickly brought them back down to Kuma. However she was itching with curiosity about how he got his scars. Her eyes tried to avoid them at all cost, not wanting to pry on his past, but as she was taking about hers, subconsciously her eyes took in the sight of them, "Some of the kids were afraid, and threw rocks from a far, but the ones who were determined would come up to me. The boys would beat me till I was down and the girls," She chuckled a little trying to hold back the tears, "the girls would go up to me, they would act all nice, and help me up and tell me that they were my friend, and say that friends do things for each other. I was so happy that I had friends, because at the time, I didn't know why I got kicked out of school or why no one was nice to me. I didn't know about the curse or any thing. I guess when these girls were kind to me, I trusted them blindly. Anyways, these girls said they would only become my friend if I took an apple from the apple tree in the middle of the village and eat it. At this point I would do whatever they ask. And so I proudly started to walk towards the tree, and when I got there I asked the guy guarding the tree to pick me an apple so I could eat it. He laughed in my face, and when he realized who I was he knocked me out cold. I was unconscious for a whole day, maybe two, I am not sure. I remember waking up with new bruises and aches and cuts, I was unsure how to act towards all of this. I didn't know whether to cry or hate, be angered or to forgive."
Rue blinked, she felt as if her throat had a lump in it. There was a point she was trying to get at through the story, but she lost herself on the way. The memories of the past was burning like a fire in her heart, she felt the same way she did when she woke up after being unconscious, lost. She sat in silence for a few seconds before she spoke again, "Oh sorry, I have just been babbling," She laughed nervously and forced, "there is a first for everything I supposed. Anyways, the point I was getting at was that while I was unconscious I have heard a lot of the rumors and history about the curse. That's why I had the idea about the leaf, and about how we could just waltz out of here, because we are Dryad, but it seems too easy, eh they were just stupid ideas..." She rushed though what she had to say and fell silent. Her cheeks felt hot and she dropped her eyes from his scar and stared that the floor, bracing herself to be made fun of, or for Ryu to double back like he did when she touched him. Old habits die hard.

((Thanks. :) she's out and doing fine, so I'll be posting sooner, sorry this is so long! I really got into it and wasn't paying attention. O.o))
Ryu sat there, on the floor, petting Kuma as a way to calm his nerves after what just happened. He felt like a cat that got rubbed the wrong way. His skin being pulled and fur bent. It wasn't the best way to describe how he felt, but with Kuma in his lap, it was all that came to mind. He couldn't bring himself to look at her completely. His nerves were still frizzed and he had just recoiled from her touch. He didn't feel like looking at her for fear of seeing rejection on her face from his actions. He pet Kuma, calming with every stroke and every feel of soft black fur beneath his fingers and palm. He heard what she said, about the tree. He noticed that tree too. It was in the middle of the village and people didn't go near it, except the guys that were forced to guard the tree from people. Maybe she was right. Maybe it could be that easy to get out of here. They could leave and let the humans die like the cursed barrier intended them to. Maybe not a leaf... But what about a whole apple from the tree?
He stopped his ramblings when she started talking about her past as a kid here. When all the dryads were just learning about who they were and where they came from. The villagers did a little educating without violence, but most of what they learned came during a beating or while things were thrown at you. Words were yelled, rocks thrown. He listened to her tale of woes. Well, not woes, more like tragedies. He couldn't relate directly to her tale, since it wasn't his eyes that set him apart from the other kids. From the entire village at that. He couldn't help but to touch the scar on his cheek. He didn't really remember the day too well, but he did remember that it hurt. A lady caused it. And he thinks a knife. Or was it a fork? It was sharp. That's all he knew. He looked down at his now covered arms. The burns and scars, new and old. He couldn't help himself that he was different. It just happened.
"It's not stupid.." He paused, hoping she knew what he was referring to. "To think we could get out of here easily. The tree. People don't go near it for a reason. The fruit it bares, never falls for people to grab and eat. They just wither on the branch and a new flower is born from it. I can't explain it, but maybe it is a key to get out of here. Maybe not the leaves from the tree, but the harder to obtain. The fruit. The apples it bares may allow us out since we are half dryad." He smiled a bit, thinking about being able to lay in the lush grass that was just outside. Be in the shade of healthy trees and eat their fruits. The freedom that came with being able to leave and be under the blue sky once more. It was liberating to think he could actually do that, until reality hit. He couldn't get out. He didn't know how. Maybe they couldn't get out. He shook his head.
"Your eyes set you apart from the kids at school. I was set apart because of my hair." He stopped, mouth open like he was going to talk again. Should I tell her about myself? She told me about her own experiences.. It's only fair, right? He drew in a breath before speaking again. "My hair wasn't always this color, in fact, it was actually a midnight black. Inky like a starless sky. I was normal, except for the dreams I kept having. They scared me because I didn't know what was happening, what was going on. Who was showing me these things from a long time ago? I didn't know. I ignored the dreams. At school, I had friends that would say they would always be my friends. What I didn't know, was that there was a hidden message in that. They were my friends, so long as I was normal, human, natural. They never said they were my friends no matter what." He stopped and looked down at his hands, closing his eyes. His white lashes brushing his cheek bones just a little. He opened his eyes after a bit and drew in a shaky breath. "The first day my hair changed, some girls said I looked like I was getting old. I had strands of white hair amongst the inky black. They stood out, catching the sun better than my natural hair. I was teased, called a 'little old man' and people started to stop getting near me. It went on like that for weeks. Weeks passed and little by little, white strands turned into white highlights. People would ask my parents why they would allow me to 'bleach' my hair. They denied they allowed it." He ran a hand through his hair, getting a few loose strands and tossed them to the ground. He looked up at Rue, his green eyes a bit dull. Sadness crept over him but he managed to give her a smile.
He returned his gaze to Kuma and swallowed, wetting his dry throat. He didn't know why, but talking about his past brought a bad taste to his mouth. "My lashes started to change color too. At first, it looked like there was snow on the tips, all the time. But it was spring, turning summer, there wasn't any snow. People called me a freak and weird. My 'friends' started to stay away from me. A girl would occasionally come up to me and play. She was nice and didn't listen to the others. She thought the highlights were cool. She was my last friend. Or, so I thought. The day after, my whole head was white. No more black. It was pure, snowy white. I freaked out. I couldn't tell why this was happening. I went to school and people just stared. Parents scowled and told their kids to stay away from me, that I was a monster. I couldn't be trusted and I couldn't have friends. They listened. Nobody came up to me. Nobody wanted to be near me. I was told to stay outside by the teacher the expelled for something I did t even remember doing. I wasn't allowed back in." He swiped at his eyes, making sure he wasn't crying. He wasn't. He brushed against his scar and gave a broken laugh. "This was the first thing they did. Parents walked by and threw rocks. They hit, but they didn't do much damage. Until I passed the butchers wife. She was chopping something and using a fork to hang it up. She saw me and screamed. I panicked but before I could run, there was a group of adults around me, blocking me. I begged for them to let me go. They didn't listen. They shouted names and a few men threw punches. The butcher's wife came back and she started swinging the knife. It caught my hands and arms with cuts, nothing big. But she grabbed me and said I 'deserved this' before she practically stabbed the knife edge I to my skin. Twice. It was agony."
Ryu pulled his cloak tighter around his body, like it would keep out the negative thoughts in his head. "They left me after that. Nobody came by to pick me up. I laid there. Im Sure I was unconscious for about a week. My body healing itself. I was tossed in an alley the second day. I remember that. They cold stone floors and wet puddles of gods know what." He shook his head. "Sorry.. I just thought it'd be fair to tell you about my past, as you've told me about yours."

[[Whoa that is a lot, haha on my phone when I was reading it, it was super long, but I thought it would shrink when I was reading it on my laptop, but its still long haha. I like long posts though :)]]
Rue's head shot up when Ryu spoke. His words caught her by surprise, she was sure he was going to make fun of her or think she was crazy. Her mouth hung gaping, she was truly amazed that he accepted her ideas that easy, especially since the air between them felt a little tense. There was now no doubt in her mind that he was the kindest person on Earth, though she would never say that to him directly. However, while he spoke she wondered how much he exactly knew about the tree. Her knowledge on the apple tree was bountiful, though she was unsure about how much was real and how much was just her imagination running wild.
Rue brought her eyes to Ryu. Even though they had cleared things up between them, he still looked defeated. She wondered if her words had really beaten him up this bad, or if his words just backfired, causing him pain. It was hard to tell, but either was she felt responsible, she felt as if it was her duty to bring Ryu to his former glory. They sat in silence for a while, and the whole time her mind raced on quick ideas that would cheer him up. But once again, she had failed.
Ryu had spoken again. He said something about her eyes and his hair. Rue was confused at what he meant, his mouth was open so she waited for him to elaborate. But when it clicked that he was going to start to talk about his past, it was too late. He had started his story, and it would be rude to interrupt. Right? Although, while he spoke, Rue wanted nothing more than for him to stop. She didn't want him to remember painful memories, for if he did, she feared he would never smile cheerful again, nor would his kindness ever reach her again. I am being so selfish. She thought to herself, knowing it to be the truth. The only reason she wanted him to be happy was to make herself feel better. She felt guilty for feeling this way, but she couldn't make that yearning subside. So along with her desire and yearning, guilt also clouded her heart.
A small sigh escaped her lips. His story was such a sad story, filled with incidents that was bound on leaving scars. Not just physical scars, but emotional scars. Only by listening to his story did Rue understand him a little better. When there came a pause in his story, she was about to speak, telling him that it would be best if he didn't continue, that she didn't deserve to listen, but when Ryu looked at her, she was shot. The dull and sad look in his eyes paralyzed her. She felt like she was the one who got defeated now. Although Rue knew perfectly well that if she was going to make Ryu happy again, she would have to be the one with a smile on her face. The task at hand seemed hard, considering today was the first day she had ever graced the world with the slightest smile in 10 years.
The room fell into silence again. The tense atmosphere that lingered in the old cabin was now replaced with the sorrows of the past. Rue was sure that if you looked closely you could see the despair in the air. Her time wasn't worth doing something as useless as that. Instead she gathered up her courage and lightened up on her thoughts. "There was no need for that." Her voice was soft, she feared if it was any louder it might frighten him. He looked like a fragile little boy, trying to hide away from the evils in the world. If Rue wasn't thinking so lightly, she would become embarrassed and probably grow harsh towards Ryu because, for some strange reason, she found that Ryu looked cute like this.
Her words continued in its soft and careful matter, she even crawled the distance towards Ryu, who had retreated over here from her touch. "The last thing I would have wanted was for you to share your past. Forget fairness, I spoke subconsciously," The images of her story flashed between her eyes as she spoke. But she was determined not to let her sorrows enter her heart and her selfish yearning. The corners of her lips started to curl up so that she was smiling kindly at him. She sat back on her feet and looked him in the eyes and grabbed his shoulders so he was aware that she was looking at him. Even if he refused to look at her, her touch would still get him attention. Rue just hoped, with all her heart, that he wouldn't retreat once again. "If it causes you pain, then you don't have to tell me. I don't want you to feel obligated to tell me anything just because I blabbed. I-I-" She lowered her head. Her embarrassment was rising and her confidence was dropping, she needed to finish what she wanted to say quickly, "I just want you to be happy, now that you got me, now that you have a friend. I'll watch your back and you will watch mine." her finishing words were barley audible and she didn't know if he could hear her. She placed her hands in her lap and her head was still hung. She thought about speaking on behalf of the tree and curse, but it seemed that she didn't have the voice to do so.
Rue finally understood, so this was trust.

[{Snap bro... I forgot i never replied.... FAIL. But i will reply right now. And I'm working on a pic for tle="" href="http://incubus-charm.deviantart.com/art/Dryad-Ryu-347455245" target="">Ryu. :D And Nova. :3}] Ryu listened to her as she spoke, not once wanting to interrupt her. She wasn't the kindest person in the world, but then again, nobody would be as kind as they normally would if they had been subjected to the same kind of pain as they had been subjected to for a majority of their own lives. The images of his past would flash in his head and then leave before he had time to even think about it. The only thing that he did think of was the scar on his face. That was the most obvious one of his many wounds. On his face. How much more obvious can you get? He shook his head out and kept his hands on his cat and his eyes on his hands. He wanted to look up at her, but couldn't find it to do so. He sighed in defeat and finally decided that it was now or never. He gulped, though it wasn't audible enough for her to hear him. He looked up at her, his eyes less broken but not happy either. He nodded. "I don't think that it would have been fair anyways. I mean, if one tells the story then teh other should at least give some kind of insight as to their own upbringing, no matter how harsh or sorrow filled it is." He gave a shrug and grabbed his cat in his arms. He pushed himself up with his knees and then to his feet. He stood and dusted his pants off, holding Kuma tightly. The cat mewled and looked between teh two dryads in the room. Ryu, his master wasn't as sad as he had been, which was a plus, but the girl. She seemed to be down. Ryu looked down at the girl and smiled slightly. He didn't want to make her feel sad any longer. "Yeah. You watch my back and I'l watch yours. That seems logical. We don't have anybody else really. Unless there are more dryads out there. Thought at this moment, i don't think there are." He sighed and placed Kuma on the counter by the sink. The cat could sun himself while he tried to bring air into the house. It wasn't exactly going to be the most efficent way, but it would work. He went to teh window and pried down one of teh boards. Light flooded teh room and air rushed in. Crisp, fresh, slightly cold autumn air. He shivered slightly and ruffled his hair. "So, Rue. What do you propose we do. I mean, we can't exactly leave like this. Or, I can't. You might be able to pass as a human if you kept your eyes a bit closed. Ya know? Like.. sleepy looking? I'd have to cover my whole head pretty much." ((sorry, this one is short.... :( and i was doing so good too!! >:( ))

[[Haha its fine. O.O that picture of Ryu is so good! And you drew that!? Awesome~ Your art is so good!]]
This morning seemed so long ago. Every incident that has happened up until now seems like a lifetime of memories, both good and bad. However, there was a pathetic fear and sorrow that has been tugging at the back of Rue's mind for a while. That pathetic fear and sorrow was directed towards the idea that the lifetime of memories were going to stop. No, Rue knew that they were bound to stop at some point, just like everything else she has came to know.
When Ryu spoke and stood up, Rue was jerked from her thoughts as more came into play. Is he retreating again? Rue's heart started to pang, she was worried that her repulsive attitude has started to push Ryu away. Her hanging head shot up and looked at Ryu, her dark black eyes grew bigger and her ex pression turned to curiosity. Her face was no longer red from the lingering feeling of warmth on her palms, but now a flushed color that has never gotten the chance to know Rue's face.
When Ryu spoke once more, her face went back to being the ivory color she was born with, with the exception of the pink that has stained her cheeks ever since she met Ryu. Although curiosity now seeped in her thoughts and shimmered a little in her eyes. Did he really trust her or was he just doing what he thought was "fair" and "logical"? One thing for sure was that Ryu wasn't to his former glory, but he was still being kind, which was, more or less, okay with Rue. However, since when was Ryu the one who started to bring it all down to business? That pathetic fear and sorrow made her heart pang once more, what will Ryu do once we have escaped the border? Will he go claim his freedom and let me claim mine, my lifetime of memories finally stopping? But then suddenly Rue realized that it didn't matter, she has been alone for 10 years and had no problem taking care of herself, she didn't care what other people thought and didn't care about other people period. But now? Now Rue couldn't even remember how it felt to be alone again.
She pushed those pathetic thoughts out of her mind. The open window allowed the wind to carry her thoughts far, far away, though surly they would come back. The sound of her name being rolled off Ryu's tongue made a shiver dance up her spine, and she forced herself to smile. "Hm, an apple might be able to work, you know, to break the border, well at least for us hopefully. However, have you heard the story of the little girls father? Since there is no way for us to die in the tedious place, the girl's father picked an apple from the apple tree and ate it, thus killing himself and bringing the village one year closer to their death. What I am trying to say is that what if once you pick the apple, the village dies? Since that is the last apple." Rue's voice was small when she spoke. Although the wind took her worries and thoughts away, there was still a haunting feeling that crept in her memories. Her curious black eyes stared out the window, the sun was on its decent from the heavens, "We could also wait till night fall to make any movements..."
They beginning of the day might have seemed so long ago, but in all that time Rue has slowly started to open her eyes up to the world. She has begun to listen to her emotions and feelings and trying to listen to other peoples as well.

Ryu knew this wasn't the best morning, though it seemed to drag on forever. It was the longest morning he's had so far. Maybe it was the fact that he was just now meeting someone like him or maybe it was all the fighting they were doing. He shrugged it all off and looked at Rue. He rubbing his eyes and sighed. They hadn't gotten off on a good note and it seemed to be dragging this on for a while. He ran his hands from his eyes to this hair and then dropped them to his sides. He sighed a little. "Rue, I'm going to say this now, but I apologize for all this. Our meeting wasn't the best and neither was this whole morning. We've doen nothing but fight and every once in a while we come to some sort of understanding. I apologize for any future fights too, as I feel like we won't be civil forever." He sat down on a stool and rubbed his arms a little. He felt awkward about the whole thing.
He looked up at her and smiled slightly, wanting to at least make her feel better about the whole situation. His eyes darkened and his smile split into a grin. It was kind of creepy if you've never witnessed his grins. He stood up and looked down at her. "If we pick an apple and the village dies, who really cares? We'd be free and they would see that they abused us far too much for our sympathy. They don't deserve to have us break the curse and then they go back to tormenting us because of what we are or who we are. I mean, we're all humanoids. We're humans. They treat us like animals and yet we hold thier lives in our hands in some way. They can't live if we leave and take the fruits. If we break the curse, they can be free. If they think they can continue to walk all over us, then they should think twice." {ugh! FAIL. I only could think up this... :( in all that time.. So sorry! and Unique, who made you're banner?}

[[Alrighty here I go. Blech, I feel so out of character right now, so excuse anything that might seem strange for Rue's character.]]
The words Ryu said took Rue by surprise. His apology was different from before, he wasn't apologizing from what happened earlier that morning, so much as apologizing for our future arguments. Now, this is an apology she could actually accept, it was "fair" and "logical" and there is no harm in making amends before hand, right? Rue's fake smile turned slightly warmer and slightly more realistic, "Well if you should apologize, then I suppose I should too." Rue thought about going in depth with her futuristic apology, but she knew all too well that Ryu wouldn't listen. Hesitantly she added, "A fight isn't just a one sided deal, you cant argue without someone arguing back," Rue knew she should have ended it there, but she dared herself to add a small little part, "And plus, it is usually I who says something wrong." She said lightly.
Rue tore her eyes from the view outside the window and looked up at Ryu from her seat on the floor. He still seemed different, somehow... there was just something. It wasn't until he spoke again, that Rue's suspicion was confirmed. He started to talk of such nonsense. There was a dark gleam in his eyes and his smile was converted into a grin. She was taken aback by the negativity that he was giving off. It was strange and it made her angry that he should say such a thing, and with such a dark seriousness. However, in this ironic situation, Rue couldn't help but laugh. It was so abrupt, her laughter, and so out of control. She didn't know the last time she had laughed this hard, better yet, laughed in general.
Her eyes started to tear up from such hard laughter, that she had to wipe them away before they could spill on her cheeks. Ryu must think that she was crazy, but in a few seconds he would hear an ear full. Rue started to calm herself, she tried to hold back her giggles, only for her to choke on them. Once she had finally settled down, her sides ached. Rue stood up stretched her sides a little. She didn't bother to look at Ryu, she feared that the look on his face would cause another abrupt emotion to bubble up. So Rue just diverted her eyes, trying to find an interesting ob ject around the room to keep her interested. Nothing held her interest so she gave up and locked eyes with Ryu.
"How ironic," She said, her voice a little raw from her laughter, "that you should say to forget humans and leave them here to die in their shame." She scolded. "You talk about how we got off on a bad foot this morning, when in actuality, I thought it went grate! I would hardly speak to you this morning and I was rude and cold, but you were the one who always forgave me and gave me a second chance." Rue was wandering off from the point she was getting at, but quickly redirected herself, "Don't you think that's what the humans deserve too? A second chance? Why should I be given a second chance with your trust when they don't get one? What makes me so different than them? Because I am part Dryad like you? But you just said we are all humans in some way, so don't go sinking down to their level." Rue was almost done with her little speech, and hoped, so much, that she wouldn't lead them into, yet another argument, "This morning, you said that you aren't blinded by hate filled notions. You said that you don't let those spiteful words get to you. You said that you think for yourself and see the good in most people." Her voice softened and so did her eyes the bore into his, "They deserve a chance to win our trust, even if we have to be the ones to extend our hands first. They may not see it now, but like you said, we are all human in one way or another, we just act more civil than them. Right now they are acting like savages and we need to bring them back to our side, I suppose that's what nearly a century will do to a person."
By the time she was done with that fiasco she noticed that all her rage was uniquely placed in her words. She didn't blow up on him like she had in previous arguments. A sense of accomplishment filled her. However, Rue wondered where all her selfishness went. Was the selfish intentions she had earlier now converted to thinking of the humans politely? When really she had the same thoughts that Ryu spoke of, earlier this morning, heck, her whole life. No, I am still selfish She thought, The only reasons I say this is because I can't take this obnoxious new Ryu who is so gloomy and moody. I want the Ryu I met this morning who was happy and kind. Yes, that is what I want and that is the only reason for my attitude, right?

Ryu blinked and his eyes went back to the vibrant green they were before he started to ran about the humans and how they shouldn't have a second chance at gaining their trust. They didn't really deserve it, but then again, he was the person who said that he saw the better in most people. He was being hypocritical. He cringed slightly at the thought. He hadn't meant to be so. Then again, that side of him hadn't reared its ugly head in so long that Ryu forgot that it even existed. He sighed and looked at Rue, catching most of what she was saying, though not all of it. He got the best of it though. He shouldn't have seaid that. well, maybe he shouldn't have let his emotion run rampant. He knew what happened every time he did that. He blinked. "Sorry. I didn't know that would happen. I honestly... Okay. Honestly, if my emotions get too high, then they take over. I have split personality for anger. That about it. Anything else is fine. I haven't gotten mad like that in a while. And at least not mad enough to make that part of my emotion rear it's ugly head. I mean, that normally doesn't happen." He ran his hadn through his hair and looked at Kuma, who was hissing at him, scoldng him in his own way. He reached down adn grabbed the bobtail before he placed the cat in his hood again. He felt calmer when the cat was near him. He sighed heavily this time and looked at Rue with sorrow filled eyes. "Honestly i am sorry. I don't let that side of me take over much. I mean, it's not pretty." He gave a small chuckled as if to laugh off his own personality sidorder. He turned his attention to the outside. He wanted the sun to set already, but he knew it was probably just turning noon by the way the shadows were being cast on the dead trees outside. He thought about that lone tree in teh middle of teh village, maybe they shoulgd go take a look at it. It wouldn't do any harm really.
