"Well, I suppose a lot li-" her words turned into a half squel of pain before her eyes rolled back into her head and she fell limp.

Dawnfrost tilted her head to one side. "Her kits are coming." Dawnfrost said to her apprentice.

Rosepaw nodded. " That's what it sounded like." She said, quickly going to see her. Rosepaw was shocked." Dawnfrost, come quickly!" she cried.

Blackpaw got a banana leaf, used for scooping water, and pured water on her, gently. It was to be done slowly so you wouldn't put the cat in shock. XD. He nipped her ear. " stay with us, Spottedfeather." he said, nervously.

Starstepper stared at her wide-eyed. "Okay, dearie, you do that. Come through for us! just imagine the adorable bundles of joy that this pain will bring!" she encouraged.

Spottedfeather could faintly hear their voice and made herself push through the pain. As she opened her eyes again, she head a small mewling sound and bent around to she the first kit, a small white she-kit. "Fogkit." She barely had time to utter the word before more pain came. Two more kits came before it stopped. Spottedfeather pleaded in her head that it was over for good.

A large solid black kitten lied still near his mother's rump. He didn't move or make noise... He was the largest out of the litter, and last to be born.
After about thirty second, he wriggled around sliftly, as if trying to go back inside his mother.

____ Stood near by, on terrain a bit higher than the others, to make sure nothing went wrong. Her lumanesent eyes locked on her clan while her ears twiotched around like little radars, picking up every little sound.

Spottedfeather stood and turned, exaiming her kits, licking them until they were all mewling. One of them was white, one silver, and one light brown tabby with black stripes. "Fogkit, Moonkit, and Tigerkit." She nosed each one in turn and took one in her mouth, starting towards the Nursery Cave. As she entered, the other queens meowed congrats to her. She nodded and mad her way to the back of the cave and her nest, setting down Tigerkit.

Dawnfrost picked up Moonkit and followed Spottedfeather.

Spottedfeather whipped around to hiss at the apprentice, gently taking the small white kit and marching back to her nest, licking all five kits in turn and mewing thier names to them. She settled down beside them and let them suckle as she rested, purring happily.

Dreamfrost turned back to Rosepaw. "Why don't you gather a couple more cats and we can go on a hunting patrol."

Rosepaw nodded. She gathered five more cats and met Dawnfrost at a hill. "Ready?" she asked, the others mimicking her.

Blackpaw sighed and went away.

Angelkit remained silent. She stayed away from the others. She had already tried, and got trampled on.She just layed away, whimpering.

Starstepper looked at the kit. " Spot, in all my years, I have never seen a kit that small. Or that won't eat..." she said, concerned.

Spottedfeather nodded, equally worried. She picked up Tigerkit and moved him away, putting Angelkit in his place, nosing her up to suckle.

Dawnfrost nodded and lead the way out into the forest, towards her favorite hunting spot, Fox Rocks. This spot was a favorite because the prey that lived here were usually very fat and larger than most other prey.

Angelkit finally took it agter 10 mintues. She was expecting being trampled on, but decided it was safe.She was the smallest, and therefore, the weakest. She couldn't push other kits to feed.

Starstepper sighed. " She's still pretty small. I've never seen one this...puny. I hate to say this, but she probably won't last though Leaf-bare..." she said, sadly." 'She's too weak, she'll hold back the clan..' is what the others would say... but I have some faith.." she said, trying to build back up what she was tearing down.

DuskStar smiled as some of the clan went out to hunt, and made her way down to the Queen's den to congradulate SpottedFeather.

She smiled at every one as she walked in, keeping a respectful ditance between her and the newly born kits. "Congradulations SpottedFeather. They are all very beautiful." She said with a smile as she looked from kit to kit and back to their mother.

Shadow squirmed around on his belly, trying to locate his mother... Being he;d wondered to far away, he was having a hard time getting back to her.

SnowStar awoke before the others in the clan, she quickly made her rounds to make sure nothing was wrong in her territory.
Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, she slunk up to a large hill which stood in the middle of her land. It was the highest point in the terra, and provided the best view of the sky and her land.

She sat in silence, her amber colored eyes scanning over everything while her ears picked up ever sound, and her extended claws raked the earth to help pick up all vibrations.

ShaydedGaze awoke with a sharp jerk of his body. He quickly stood up and looked around him. He huffed to catch his breath for a second, then ventured outside of his den.

The cool morning air cooled off the sweating tom as he sat down outside the mouth of his den.
"Again... will they ever stop?" He muttered to himself after sleepily itching his ear with his hind leg.

He looked around him again, no one else in the clan seemed to be up yet, so he remained quiet as he walked through out the land.

FireBlaze sat near a small stream which cut through her clan's land. She dipped her paw in the cool water and cleaned her face with it.
"Sure is quiet this time of the morning..." She muttered to herself as she looked around to make sure no one else was around before walking into the small stream.

It was deep enough for her to swim around, as long as she went either up or down stream.

She continued to swim for a few more minutes before getting out and lying down on a large flat rock in the early morning sun to dry off.

Spottedfeather smiled and purred, nodding to her leader. "Thank you. I just hope Angelkit lives." She said, nosing the small kit. She mewed softly to Shadowkit, calling him over to her.

Angelkit nuzzled her back, and smiled softly.

ShadowKit followed the faint sound of his mother's call. He squirmed over to her, accedently bumping into AngelKit's side.

DuskStar smiled at the two kits. "I think she'll be fine." She replied with a motherly purr before looking away for a minute, hiding the sad ex
pression in her eyes.
She then looked back at SpottedFeather and her kits. "Well, I will leave you with you kits... I'll bring you food once the hunting party gets back... Till then, I bid you and your sweet kits adue." She said with a smile -all traces of sadness gone- as she stood up and walked out of the den.

She took a deep breath of the fresh foresty air and trotted off to a near-by stream to get a drink and clean herself.

Spottedfeather nodded and turned back to her kits. most of them had moved away from the teats and wear piled among each other, sleeping peacefully. Only Tigerkit, Angelkit, and Shadowkit remained suckling.
