Sara sighed and grabbed the tv remote. She flipped it on the news and heard an article about her disappearance.

"Thirteen year old Sara Lilith was last seen with her boyfriend, Arashi. They believe that Sara is still alive and well, but is hiding somewhere in New York City."

She turned it off. "Looks like they're still searching for me."

"It depends if you want to be found"He looked at her.

"I don't know. They have vampires on their side too now." She pulled her head away from his hand, something unusual for her. She pulled her knees up to her chin and wrapped her arms around her legs. She looked down and frowned at the thought of being dragged back to her house. Her parents would find out she was a vampire. The guys would drool over her and bug the crap out of her. She shuddered and pushed those thoughts out of her mind.

He is Sara's brother.

Dessen walked quietly through the city, his brown hair covering his eyes partially. Girls with hearts for eyes p*censored*ed him and stared. He'd look in their direction and nod just to hear their squeals of joy. He then caught scent of something, his sister. He walked to the area that the scent was strong in, the hotel. He walked in and walked to the elevator. He pushed a random button and walked towards the smell. He could smell her in one area particular, a room. The room was also filled with the scent of two animals and a male vampire. He gently knocked on the door and smirked. His sister was coming home.

Sara jolted at the sound of someone's hand on the door. She pushed herself off of the couch and walked quietly to the door. She looked throught the peephole and saw her brother's face. She opened the door with tears in her eyes. Dessen looked at her and smiled. She sniffled and threw herself into his arms sobbing. She hadn't seen her brother in over a year, so she was quite surprised to see him here.

Dessen had been recently turned, so the scars on his neck were clearly visible. Sara pryed herself off of him and wiped her eyes. "You, You, me." She couldn't speak in a straight sentence.

"Yes, I know, I know." Dessen looked at her and frowned. Something wasn't right. Something was different. He then redirected his attention over to Arashi. "Who're you?" His voice was fearless and protective.

"Dessen, Sara's brother." He said back plainly. He turned around to Sara and smiled. "Ready to go home, sis?"

Sara took a step backwards and frowned. She shook her head.

"C'mon sis." Dessen took a step towards her and held out his hand. "Mom and Dad'll be so happy to see you."

"Don't come near me if you're going to talk about bringing me back." Sara's fangs flashed with every word.

"Oh, oh my." Dessen's eyes widened. "I smelled it but I didn't believe it was true." He couldn't believe she was a vampire.
