Not hearing any response howls, Alyce picked up the sound of a frightened, or possibly hurt, fox. Without even thinking that the noise could be a trick, she began to run in the direction the noise had come from.
She quickly picked up Naomi's scent and followed it.

Reyna sat quietl;y on the bench until the train pulled up. She walked down the carts until she found an empty one. She hoped in one, and a few homeless human were in there. She walked past them and lay down on the hay, falling asleep. "Finally, I can get away from these humans!" The homeless guys then began to chase Reyna away, so she got off the train. The Conductor then saw reyna and started firing his gun at her. She growled and ran off in the woods. Then she saw that fox. |

Naomi yawned as she stretched and poked her head out of her den. It was a gorgeous, sunny day. Water dripped down from the trees. Spring was on its way.

Naomi yawned and stretched her legs. She emerged from her den, happily greeting the day. Spring was finally here. The birds chirped and the sun shone brightly...
But the quiet was soon disturbed...
Naomi's ears pricked up. She could hear loud noises approaching in the distance. Whatever it was, it was not very far from her den or the other animals. She went to investigate.
As Naomi trotted along she stopped dead in her tracks as she saw humans standing before her.
The humans seemed to be doing something she's never seen them do.
They were marking trees with orange paint...
The large tractor they rode into the forest on made a loud roar and the humans left the area.
For now...

Mick blinked himself awake, twisting his head as he ruffled his feathers. He gave his wings a good flap, just to stretch them, then folded them neatly against his sides. The annoying sound of beeping machines could be heard in the distance, and although he knew very well what the sound of the lumber vehicles meant, he had little concern. There was always more land, more territory. For him, at least. The few weeks he had spent around an near humans as a chick had taught him a lot, he knew what was to come with the paint that so marred the bark of the trees.
The end of these woods was coming. The two that had been seen around the day before were scouts, or something similar. Soon there would be more. There always came more. In fact, it had been these animals that had destroyed his nest and his two chicks along with it. His mate had later died at the hands of the fire that they used to clear out the stumps of the decapitated trees. Still, to him it was nothing more than a change in the wind; something that might threaten to take you somewhere you didn't want to be, but also something that could be avoided and fought if you only spread your wings far enough.
(( By the way, I plan on incorporating more in future posts; I am against these deforesting projects, but need too integrate it into my character slowly, or it may end up being to corny. Also, a 'woot woot' for my 1,600th post. xD ))

Reyna focused on the fox until she saw human with a brush painting the tree orange. now, that's an ugly color for a tree, Reyna thought. She watched as the humans left, and a loud noise erupted in the distance. Reyna hadn't slept for about a day and a half, so Reyna was pretty pissed off that the humans were painting trees orange and making all sorts of noise. She stalked behind the humans, ready to pounce.

Spirit trotted around and looked for some food. Her brown and barly white spotted coat glissened in the light shinning thru the trees. She trotted away to the feild and looked around. She lowered her neck and nomed on some grass.

Alyce sighed and walked out of her den. It'd been so long and still no one came near her land. She once again gracefully lifted her muzzle towards the sky and let out her own melodic howl. "Hopefully the other wolves near by will respond." she thought to herself with a slight smile.

Reyna heard the little fox whispering at her, trying to get her to not to attack the humans. Reyna whispered back, "Their going to cut down that tree, don't you see? If I don't attack them, nobody will, and they will continue to cut down trees until the whole forest is gone!" Reyna turned around and crept right behind the human and pounced on him, biting his leg.
