((ALRIGHT. This post originally belongeed in FRONT of Nylat's post. But then I went and deleted it to add Julians part. Now it's all backwards. My raffy post belongs before Ny's last post. It should make more sense that way. xD ALRIGHT NYLAT. Just imagine this post in FRONT of your last post on the previous page. Make sense? xD)) ~~~ "What do you think I'm trying to do?" Raphael retorted to Dravius' half-command to get the dog-like brothers to fix their mess. He sighed, raising an eyebrow slightly in question as his Co-Master walked back over to the twins, before seeming to inspect the inside of the smaller boy's mouth; Moving onto the other shortly after and repeating the process. The reason he saw fit to do that, exactly, completely evaded Raphael, and he could only look curiously at Dravius as the slightly taller male stepped away from the two. "What exactly was the point in that?" The blonde Illusionist asked, frowning a little, glancing away when the brothers took off, directly towards the area where Maya's van was situated. Sharing a quick look with Kaera over his shoulder, he then followed shortly behind the twins, intent on keeping them in his sight and ensuring they caused no further harm or injury. He was seriously going to kill them himself if they did something stupid. The young healer paused only a mere second, throwing a quick, worried glance at Dravius, before following in the Ring-Master's footsteps. It didn't take long to reach the Butterfly's van, and both Raphael and Kaera slipped through the door after the twins, each of them stopping just beside the wall opposite the bed. It was clear from here just how fast Noh's poison had worked, and just how close they had come to missing their deadline. Maya was almost entirely still, laid more or less on her back, her face turned away, and her forehead pressed lightly against the cool wood of the nearby wall. The girl's hair was splayed haphazardly, casting little slivers of gold over the sheets where locks split from the main mas.s, cascading over the side of the mattress. The only evident movement was the slight fluttering of her chest and struggling heart, which was still clearly taking a great amount of effort to keep going on the girl's part; Her breathing still very shallow and laboured. The state of the bed covers clearly indicated the amount of thrashing around the young woman had most likely done during the worst of the pain, her body still visibly trembling despite her current stillness. It was almost painful to see, particularly for Raphael, and it became a little harder to endure when the boys got to work, not least because the Ring-Master was still very unsure about how trustworthy they were. Of course, it wasn't particularly pleasant to watch them crawl over Maya in the first place. The actual bite Yehs admitted caused a surge of overwhelming concern for the Illusionist, and he had to use every ounce of his willpower to force himself to remain where he stood. For all he knew, that bite could kill Maya instantly, being located so close to her heart. But he had no choice other than to let them go ahead with what they were doing. She would die anyway if this didn't work. Kaera, from where she stood just behind Raphael, made a little sound of distaste, her ex pression as severely worried as his. "I almost can't stand watching them do that," She murmered, wincing as Yehs dislodged his fangs from Maya's skin, trying to avoid looking elsewhere. "It's just... Downright horrible..." "Of course it is," Raphael responded quietly, keeping his eyes firmly focused on what was going on in front of him, his tone strained. "But we have no choice. Not unless-" He stopped, wincing visibly as he was hit in the side of the head with a rather sudden jolt of pain. "Are you all right?" Kaera asked, brows furrowing slightly as she looked up at the tall blonde for a moment. "Fine," He muttered, rubbing a temple. "It happens when I'm recovering. And not unless we want them to die." The Ring-Master waved it off, returning his gaze to the twins as Yehs moved away, and settled himself a small distance from the bed. He merely nodded slightly in respose to the boy's one spoken word, then watched as Noh completed the motion. Sighing slowly, and very much in relief, Raphael pulled two rather large slabs of meat from the bag he carried, throwing them just outside the van door. "You can have the rest once we've dealt the other members you've inflicted." He murmered, gesturing to the door before stepping out of it, and heading off to as.sist the other members. ~~~
Julian had completed his round sending out notices in a surprisingly short space of time. Fair to say, a lot of the town's people who had bought tickets that day were not at all happy when they spotted the noticed around town, but they were guaranteed a show tomorrow night, reserved for those who had bought tickets today.
The Sword-Master, once done, headed straight back to camp, and made for the area where he knew the group had last been seen. It was on his way there, however, that a hurrying Kioko pretty much ran into him, before dissappearing beyond the vans. It didn't take an expert to figure out how she was feeling. Though in truth, Julian had not exactly got a decent deion of what went down in the forest with Dravius and his... "Friend".
Staring off in the general direction where the Pyro had dissappeared, Julian sighed, then chose on a whim to follow her. He headed almost automatically to her van, as that seemed the most logical place for her to head to in her current state of mind. He approached the door just in time to hear the lock. He paused a few minutes, the gently rapped a knuckle on the door.
"Kioko, don't lock yourself away." He said through the door, sliding his hands into his pockets and glancing off as a couple of members sprinted past. His calm, quiet voice had lost it's sense of detachment, and now sounded somewhat warm and appraochable. It was a side he very rarely showed. "It's not good for you. Raphael seems to think talking about this sort of thing can help." He paused, then leaned against the side of the van door, crossing his arms. There was little point rushing her, if she needed time alone. Still ,he could wait. "I'll be out here if you wish to speak to me about it."
~~~ After the rather brief meeting with the funny little human kid, Zyano had been very much prepared to simply lay down and bask in the suns warm rays for a while, rays which were slowly beginning to cool with the onset of afternoon. In fact, he'd been laid out on his side when he heard those screams and yells, and pushed himself up, face looking back towards the vans, ears forward. My goodness... Perhaps the problem this Circus was suffering from still hadn't been resolved?... Although, admittedly... Those screams sounded serious. Pushing his huge, streamlined form into a sitting position, he kept his eyes firmly on the vans. Having still been situated where last nights party had taken place, he was some distance from the actual grounds, and so couldn't actually see much of anything. The giant hybrid had been on the verge of going to check out the commotion when it all suddenly seemed to die down, though he remained fully alert. "I wonder what all that was." He murmered, completely unsure of whether Erik or Daniel had heard those noises. Though they probably had. They were certainly loud enough. Flicking his ears, Zyano simply sat, amber eyes focused in the same direction for a good while, right up until the point Nylat appeared, looking worse than she had last time he''d been at the Circus. Clearly it was serious, then. The wolf chose to ignore the other hybird frosty look in his direction, making another decision not to bother asking her what the problem was. She'd probably just snap at him if he did. He watched her converse with the little human boy, then turned his head back towards the vans, tilting his head at the much quieter sounds. He only turned his attention back to the others when he caught Nylat's last sentence. Honestly. She couldn't be any more obvious. And, lucky for him, he could understand her, although it took some listening. His cheetah side, being cat-like, understood the language, though it was accented peculiarly. Probably because his cat side was of the wild variety. Sighing, he laid back on his stomach, mind full of questions as he delibrately ignored looking in Nylat's general direction. Just what was wrong with this place?
Noh had finished licking Maya's collar and shoulder, leaving a slightly damp but unhurt skin surface behind, coughing quietly, and sitting back on his haunches with a snort. He scratched behind one ear with a long nailed hand. It was really unusual to see someone's reaction who hadn't seen either boy fix whatever they had done. The bright one seemed a bit afflicted, and Noh was a bit worried, since if the bright one died, the tall dark one would probably be not nice to them. Noh whined and scooted a bit closer to the man, head down. Yehs had begun panting nervously. The heavy smell of raw meat was tempting, andboth boys were fidgetingback and forth, snuffling at the lady healer's legs. Both children sat at attention when Raphael tossed the meat out the door, grinning sharply. Without warning, both took off through the door, letting out huge barks. Each kid got a slab of meat in his possesion, but seemed to want the other's badly, growling through clenched teeth and circling each other slowly. Yehs let out a shreik and ripped a hunk out of Noh's piece, and sat down with his spoils, growling at his brother, who seemed to have extremely hurt feelings. Noh asked the bright man through a large mouthful of food, "Where is everyone else, then?" He looked completely unconcerned, arms crossed over his prize. -------------------------- Dravius raised an eyebrow at Raphael's question, then a look of recognition came over his face. "OH. I never told you. I don't think about it much." This last sentence was muttered, then he opened his mouth and pressed his tongue to the roof of his mouth, showing a large black numeral two seemingly tattooed on the bottom of his mouth, obscured when his tongue was lying flat. "Uh. I was just checking if they had marks. So now I know Vayne sent them. Happy day." He said, chewing his lip. Dravius looked up and followed his old friend into Maya's van, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood, and glare as hard as he could at the two boys. Once they left, leaving Maya just lying there, he looked conflicted for a moment, then crossed to the young woman's side, using his long sleeve to wipe the remains of Noh's saliva from Maya's shoulder, and sighed, looking at her drawn face. Hopefully those little weasels hadn't been lying. The marks in their mouths didn't reassure him at all. Considering the double didgets, Break had gone through eight kids in as many years. Dravius shook his head and sighed, looking at the children fighting over the food. It was almost sad to watch, so he directed his attention back towards the girlsplayed out on the small bed.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."
The reaction of both boys when Raphael threw the meat out of the door, was pretty much half-expected, despite the fact the tall blonde didn't know either of them on a personal level. Although he as.sumed you didn't really need to know them. It was their dog-like personalities that allowed him to guess how they'd react in any situation. Being who he was, however. He wouldn't just treat them as such, simply because they were still human. And he didn't know nearly enough about them to feel safe treating them as merely animals.
Sighing quietly, the Ring-Master glanced over his shoulder and back towards Maya's van, sincerely hoping this would work, and mulling over Dravius' words. Kaera had not continued to look for an antidote, so finding a successful one now if this failed would be almost impossible. As for Dravius... Well. He hadn't realised Break marked his brood. At least now, there was one way of telling them apart for definate. Athough they all seemed the same, anyway.
Turning back to the boys, Raphael raised an eyebrow at Noh's question, then simply gestured with a hand for them to follow, heading to the closest afflicted member he knew of. It wasn't hard for him to get the locations of the other six or seven people, and once Yehs and Noh dealt with the first member he took them in turn to each one, rewarding them with another slab of meat once they'd carried out their purpose.
Upon dealing with the final member, the Ring-Master, as per usual, dropped meat outside the van door, before testing the bags weight. He still had a good 60% of the stuff left, and looked at Yehs and Noh with a slight frown. He hadnt completely decided what he was going to do with them once he'd finished. He knew full well both Nylat and Dravius would probably be more than happy to get rid of them, permenantly. So would everyone else, most likely. Raphael, on the other hand, found that a hard choice to make.
Those two kids, after all, were exactly like Dravius had been. And it wasn't particularly their fault for being raised this way. On top of that... They had done him a great favour today... Although admittedly they'd caused the ruckus in the first place so it was only fair. Sighing, the tall blonde closed his eyes for a moment, then turned to look at the boys. "Follow me," He said shortly, walking away from the final members van and heading for the Circus boundaries. He stopped once he'd reached the center of a completely empty field, glancing off towards the woodland in the distance. "It's about time you left." He said flatly, glancing over his shoulder. "I'm going to give you fair warning. Do not, in any circumstances, return to this place. If you so much as take one single step beyond our borders I won't be nearly as lenient as I have been today. Here-"
He threw the bag, off towards where the woodland stood. "I mean it." He added, before turning away and heading back to the Circus ,pausing before he left the field he'd left Yehs and Noh on, looking back. It really was a pity, they'd grown up in a such way. The Circus, ironically enough, existed for people like that, people who needed that direction. And yet, there would always be those who couldn't be helped. Dravius, he thought, was a major success story. Well, more or less, he was still a little rough around the edges. Hopefully, Maya might just be able to pull him out of that one. But still.
Sighing explosively, Raphael immediately set out searching for certain members once he'd crossed the border. It was about time he dealt with his, quite frankly, appalling Circus security. Clearly.. .He'd been incorrect when he'd as.sumed a Circus didn't need such measures... Saying that, however... This wasn't exactly a normal Circus.
~~~
Kaera had watched Raphael leave with a slight frown, pulling her attention elsewhere when Dravius moved, clearly noting his torn ex pression. "Did... You want to go with the Ring-Master?.." She asked, glancing towards the girl on the bed. "If you want... I can keep an eye on Maya. I can let you know how she gets on. Unless, of course... You want to stay." She shrugged, looking at the Co-Masters back.
She paused, biting her lip a little. She had almost wanted to ask who this Vayne was, and just why he'd seen fit to send those little monsters here, thn thought better of it. Clearly Dravius was elsewhere. "What are you thinking about?" She asked a means of distraction, walking up to stand beside the Co-Master and give Maya the once over.
In all honesty, the butterfly's condition seemed to have improved marginally. At least, she wasn't struggling so much with her breathing, and the slight movements of her facial features clearly meant she was coming out of something. Kaera had to smile a little. Well, it made sense. When you had such a fast acting poison, you needed an equally fast antidote, otherwise you'd run the risk of over-stepping your time. "I think... She'll be all right." The young woman murmered, smiling a little at Dravius before settling herself on a nearby chair, one shehad brought in whilst keeping an eye on Maya earlier. It was a good 10 minutes or so later there was real sign of improvement.
The butterfly, who had endured a good amount of time in severe pain, had slipped into a semi-conscious state when brought in here by Julian. She had been able to react rather violently up until a point, and then her body completely shut off. Refusing to allow her any movement despite the fact her blood was still searing. Maya could notice nothing else in this state besides the pain, and the unbearable constriction of her chest, and the very moment that feeling started to ebb, she was able to regain control of her body. She almost didn't want to move, however, fearing doing so would likely bring it all back on her. It took her a good moment to muster together the will to simply grasp the bed covers in frustration.
She kept her head firmly where it was, her forehead still touching the wall, and she focused for a moment on her breathing. It didn't feel particularly tight anymore, though as with her movements, she was being overly cautious with breathing too fast. Once she'd realised, however, that the worst seemed to be over, she risked lifting her arm a little, and pulling her legs up so that she could place her feet on the mattress. Despite the actual pain having made an exit, Maya's entire body rang with an echo. Basically just an all body ache that made her wince with her movements, not to mention how tender her shoulder felt, and she was unable to stifle the sound that escaped her lips. A sound torn between a sob and a whimper. She probably would have outright bawled had she had the energy to do so. The most she could manage however were silent tears, as she forced herself to open her eyes, slowly. Though she immediately shut them again when the light proved to be just a little bright, lifting one arm sluggishly to hold it over her face, another quiet whimper barely audible.
Kaera started with slight surprise at Maya's first movements, walking to the bed to watch her for a moment, and then immediately left the van to go inform Raphael. It worked, was all she could muster. It actually worked.

Nylat was silent for a while, mulling over the day so far and feeling guilty about not taking care of things. She promised herself silently to not ever leave the Circus for more than a trip to town, and always be on alert. Setting her ears back, she glanced of in an arbitrary direction, catching a sight of the twins and quickly looked away, making a 'blegh' sound in the deep of her throat. Just the thought of those two sent the fur on her back into a ruff. She didn't want to get worked up over them. She glanced over at Zyano to find him pointedly avoiding looking in her direction, and she glared at him, before flicking her tail and sitting down. "So, what can you two do? Nearly everyone in this Circus performs at some point or another, though there are a few...exceptions." She hated even the thought of how she rarely performed anymore. But it always came back to haunt her. She shook her head, clearing her thoughts, before glancing up at Daniel. "Hey, Daniel, why don't you go find your brother? I'm sure he's somewhere around here. Don't want to worry him." She smiled at him, her fangs gleaming, and he nodded. "Okay 'ylat. I needs to askes him 'omething anyways." When he left, Nylat sighed, her grin fading. She just didn't want to end up snapping in front of the poor kid. Today had been too stressful already. If she did end up snapping, he shouldn't be around--he was only a short bit taller than her, and she worried over hurting him whenever he was around her.
"You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters."

Dravius had still been looking at Maya when he realised someone was speaking to him, blinking and turning towrads Kaera, tilting his head a bit. "No, I'm fine, but thanks." He replied, a bit slowly, his hands in his pockets. "I do want to stay." He added after a moment, turning back to the young woman lying on the bed. Dravius didn't turn at Kaera's next question, blinking slowly for a few seconds, then saying, "Nothing much, to be truthful. I'm just a bit worried, and angry." He shrugged and rubbed his good eye with the heel of his hand. "That's good." He murmered, almost too quietly to hear. He stayed standing, staring at the floor between his feet, a curious flatness to his eyes as he gazed into nothing. The entire ten minutes pas.sed with him not moving a muscle other than the slight rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. When Maya started showing signs of improvement, he seemed to snap back into reality, shaking his head back and forth for a few seconds. When Kaera left, Dravius expressed some sounds of discotent, but eventually just went back to watching Maya, a small trickle of blood from where he had bitten his lip evident on his pale skin. The painful noises Maya was making made Dravius' eyebrows furrow, and he sat down gently on the edge of the young woman's bed, and touched her arm gently with pale fingers, saying very softly, "Maya? Are you alright?" ---------------------------- Yehs and Noh had followde Raphael without much talk, healing stricken members with almost unsettling silence, together snapping up a staggering amount of meat, although Yehs usually got the lion's share of the meals. At the last afflicted member's healing, the children sat looking with curiosity at Raphael, panting slightly, reeking of raw meat. "Kay." they said together, moving forewards in unison, traveling behind the man, talking quietly to each other, speech punctuated by odd, animal-like noises, barking and growling. "Left?" Yehs asked, his odd, water-logged speech warping the single word. His head followed the bag of meat, but neither boy pounched on the food, sitting motionless. "Left?" Noh repeated once more, looking just a bit upset as the bright man left without another word, and then both boys lay down and looked at the circus, coughing quietly. They didn't seem in any hurry to leave, and stayed just a few steps outside the circus' boundary,hopping about and chasing insects when they grew bored, playing with each other a bit, with growling and much shoving over. They finally flopped down in a heap and fell asleep, not willing the leave theverynice place they had found.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

Disera tilted her head to the side as she listened to Kanec's rambling, quirking an eyebrow. "You're welcome. Sorry I forgot to give it back yesterday." Whatever else she was planning to say was cut off by the distant screams, and shared her own look of worry with the other shifter. "It never is good, around here," the blue skinned woman commented. Hurriedly shifting into a raven, she followed Kanec into the sky, quickly spotting the crowd that had gathered outside one of the vans. Spiraling downward, she spotted a grim faced Selvai hanging on the edge of the group, and she landed on his shoulder, eyes scanning the crowd. "What's happening here?" "From what I've heard the others saying, something attacked several members of the circus earlier," the magician explained, voice low as he watched the crowd intently. "And those affected are suffering from some sort of poison. Aside from that, I haven't heard anything else." ------- Unprepared for the rather loud screams from the direction of the circus, Erik jumped at the sounds, eyes wide. "Well. I didn't expect that." Clearing his throat, he causally eased his way behind Zyano. "The circus can handle itself, right? No need for either of us to become involved in whatever caused all of that." He nervously glanced over at Nylat and Daniel as they engaged in their strange animal speak, although the red head kept glancing in the direction of the screams long after they had stopped. "Well. As unsettling as that was, I do believe it's getting rather late, Zyano," He pointed out. "Are we spending amother night camping out, or do we properly introduce ourselves and ask to join? If whatever caused all that screaming is something that is on the loose, I really would feel safer inside during the night." When Nylat spoke to them, questioning the nature of their abilities, the red head smirked happily. "Well. I'm more than happy to show you, if you want to see." Taking half a step away from Zyano, he slowly twirled around in a circle, calling on his ability as he did so. When he faced the female hybrid once again, it was in a far different form than the one he had assumed so far. Olive tan skin peeked out from under a now too large outfit, it's owner smiling at the hybrid. Dark green eyes were framed by curly blonde hair, reaching the small of the shifter's back. Now several inches shorter, as well as smaller, his clothing hung off his (now female) frame, and Erik pulled at one side of his shirt, to keep it from sliding off his shoulder. "Rather unique, isn't it?" ------ Crying into her knees, Kioko was surprised by the sword master's voice, more by than actual tone than the words he spoke. Sniffling into her sleeve, the pyro raised her head and listened to the dark haired male's offer of a friendly ear. She rubbed at her wet face, moving the strands of white hair that had stuck to her damp skin, and trying to calm down enough to speak to Julian. A few minutes later, she felt okay enough to open the door, and reached up above her head to unlock it. Scooting around on the carpet, the pyro pushed it open, moving forward just enough to rest her legs on the top step. Leaning sideways against the door frame, she looked at Julian with swollen, puffy eyes. "Hi," she said listlessly.
"I WISH THAT PUNCTUATION HAD A PHYSICAL FORM SO I COULD SMOTHER YOU WITH IT."

((YES. This is my last post. But read it all. I've changed a lot of it and added my other charries. xD)) Hurrying through the Circus, Kaera made sure to very quickly check on the other members that had been bitten as she searched for the Ring-Master. It seemed all of them were beginning to improve some way or another, and the young woman was swept over with relief. Thank god for this.
Stopping short of leaving the last afflicted members van, Kaera caught sight of Raphael as he was walking, seemingly back into the Circus grounds. She smiled a little, then headed foward. "Raphael?" She asked, pausing once she got close enough for him to hear her. "I've got good news. Seems the twins got something right. The people bitten are showing increased signs of improvment."
Raphael, who had been looking at the floor looking thoughtful, looked up with a raised eyebrow. It took him a moment to realise what she had been referring to. "They're all right?" He asked, sliding his hands into his pockets and glancing at the vans. Kaera's nod made him smile, sighing in relief as he did so. "Good... I'll have to check on each of them later... Thanks for... Well, dealing with it."
"I didn't do anything, really..." The young healer sighed. "And I'm not sure I would have been that successful... Finding antidotes can take a lot of time... Half an hour was definately not enough. Those people would most ikely have... Well..." She paused, biting her lip and shrugging slightly. "It was just... Lucky... Those boys had a cure."
Raphael watched her, then sighed through his nose and looked over his shoulder. Although he wouldn't admit it out loud, he was thankful for the kid's input. He almost had to be. It was those two who had, after all, provided the means of reversing what they'd caused. And he still couldn't really blame them as he would an adult. Simply because of his experience with Dravius. The Co-Master, after all, had clawed his way out of that life. Shaking his head, he smiled back towards Kaera. "Still. Thank you, anyway. I should probably go and check on each of them later, at some point." He paused, then nodded "I'll see you later."
Waving a hand, Raphael strolled past the female healer, still very much intent on speaking to certain members about the security. He refused to take further risks.
~~~
Maya had seemed perfectly content to just stay where she was, keeping her arm firmly over her eyes. She couldn't however, as the wetness on her face was beginning to annoy her, that, and keeping still meant all she could focus on was how ache-y she was. The girl hadn't really been crying, the tears were more of a relieved reaction once she realised the pain seemed to be over... Well, most of it. She was still suffering the after-effects.
Groaning a little, she used her forearm to wipe at her eyes, slowly, dropping it to her side once she'd finished and breathing quietly through her nose. Every single little movement was a lot of hard work, and she was frowning slightly as though that would do something about it.
The touch on her arm was a little unexpected, as the young woman hadn't really realised there was actually anyone there with her. Wherever it is she was. And she responded to the question with a quiet "Mm.", feeling far better once she'd realised who that voice belonged to. Pulling her face away from the wall, Maya forced herself to shift, turning her body so that she lay on her opposite side, now facing the open room in her van. "Feel like I've been hit by a train, though." She added. Her voice surprisingly clear for someone who'd just been almost out.
Stuffing her face into the pillow for a moment, she complained loudly, without words, at the fact that just turning her self over made her feel like she'd done a 24 hour work out. Inhaling slowly, she settled her head back on the pillow, eventually managing to open her eyes and stare at the opposite wall for a moment before looking up at Dravius without moving her head. She smiled weakly at him, reaching out to grasp one of his hands with hers, and sliding her fingers through his. Maya felt rather strongly about not being left on her own at the moment, sighing queitly through her nose, her eyes focused on the Co-Masters hand.
It took her a moment to open her mouth again, and her voice had dropped in volume when she spoke, keeping her eyes firmly away from Dravius' face. "It was... Scary, Dravius. I couldn't... Do anything. And it hurt... It hurt a lot. It still hurts." She didn't particularly want to go over any of it, clearly portrayed by the slightly frightened look on her face. Unfortunately, she couldn't quite help but talk to him. It was a compulsion she couldn't fight. Sighing through her nose, she paused playing with his hand to look at him. "Are you... All right?" She asked, noticing the blood that resided on his lip. Despite everything, she seemed still very much concerned over Dravius' welfare.
~~~
Zyano had been watching the gras.s in the field as it swayed with the slight wind, flicking his ears to catch any of the nearby sounds. His ears paused in Nylat's direction as she asked her question, then his eyes flickered to Erik has he answered. The hybrid rolled his eyes. Such a show off, he thought silently.
"We'll find the Circus Master, and we'll talk to him." He responded to the now blonde human shifter. He glanced skyward, noting with a peculiar sense of surprise that it was somewhere late afternoon. To say he nor Erik had nothing, the day certainly had pas.sed fast. Flicking an ear back towards Erik and Nylat, he turned his gaze back on to them, before settling his head on his paws. "He's far more of a show person than I am." He yawned, closing his eyes.
"And I'm afraid I can't do much, show-wise. I can, however, pull my weight." Like Nylat, Zyano was incredibly powerful due to his mixed genes, and enhanced sense of smell, sight, and hearing, and well as long lasting endurance. Naturally, he was more than willing to play his part should one of the Masters allow them to stay.
~~~
Julian, at first, as.sumed that perhaps Kioko did not wish to speak of her ordeal, either because it was him there asking, or simply because she wished to avoid it. He had to silently agree with the former. He wasn't exactly... So openly compas.sionate. Still, he could not just leave her on her own. Not until she was actually with someone she wished to talk to, however.
Sighing quietly, the Sword-Master, as surprised as he was, glanced at the opening van door with no change in ex pression. Poor girl. She certainly didn't look happy. And leaving her there to mope wouldn't help. Sighing again, he settled himself on her other side, sitting himself on the step below hers and resting his elboiws on his knees. "Are you all right to talk about it?" He asked, looking sideways at the girl. "It's fine if you'd prefer someone else. But don't keep yourself locked up. Maya did that. It almost turned out disastrous."
Dravius had sat in silence at Maya's small movements, looking at the floor. He had curled his toes under his feet, and tucked them under the frame of Maya's bed. He was still barefoot, and his sleeves were pushed up around his elbows, quite a feat for sleeves that long. He looked concerned at the sight of the young woman's wet eyes, and sighed slightly. "Well, I thought you just got hit by two eight year old children?" He teased gently, touching the top of her shoulder. "Your shouldermight hurt a bit. Yehs kinda....gnawed on it. Also, I discovered that it's not just me you smell really nice to." Dravius leaned over slightly, giving Maya a weak smile. At her almost compulsory words, helooked just a little sad, coughing quietly. "I can only imagine, really." He looked up from his hands at her question, raising his eyebrows slightly. "All..right?" He looked confused for a moment, then scrubbed at his lip with the heel of his hand. "Yeah, I was just a little anxious..." He trailed off, looking a little guilty. The tall male rubbed his fingers against Maya's wrist as she put her fingers through his. The sides of his fingers had the enflamed colour of a recently healed wound, probably from the amount of skin he picked off of them on a regular basis. He took a breath and said, haltingly, "Uhm. I left because, uhm. A man took Kioko, and he, also, uhm, sent those two boys here, but all three of them are gone. Yeah." As he talked, specifically whenever he pronounced the letters "N" and "R", there was a short flash of black from the tattoo under his tongue, but it wasn't very pronounced, unless one was looking for it. It was one of those things where, if it was pointed out to you, you tended to feel a bit foolish for not noticing sooner. Dravius yawned widely, covering it with an elbow. "All three of the...troublemakers were my fault. I'm starting to think I'm more trouble than I'm worth." He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, brushing it back from his face and blinking once or twice quickly, eyebrows curved downwards in a worried ex pression. "Hopefully they're the last..." He looked at Maya and said, "Well, maybe...I could stay with you, here for a while? Maybe it'll help?" He looked hopeful, grinning sheepishly.
"... It felt a lot worse than just two "eight year old children"" Maya grumped in response to Dravius' words, pulling her legs up a little so she was half-curled on her side. She extended her wings a little, so that the black border brushed lightly against the wall, before pulling them back and looking incredulously up at the Co-Master.
"Gnawed...? On me?..." The girl immediately shifted onto her elbow so that she could quickly inspect both shoulders, noting pretty much straight away the tender skin on one. "What the heck do you mean, "gnawed on me"?" She asked, keeping a hand protectively over the sore joint, and tilting her head a little at the males following statement.
"The whole... I smell like a library thing again, right?" She asked, smiling slightly out of pure amusement. The smile faded as Dravius went on to answer her own question, and she glanced back at his hand, which she was still firmly holding on to. It was understandable, she supposed. He was, after all, the Circus Co-Master. This whole ordeal could have been incredibly damaging. Sighing quietly through her nose, Maya very gently squeezed the Co-Masters hand, listening as he spoke again.
She paused, head moving just a little too quickly to look at Dravius as he mentioned where he'd been. She had to close her eyes for a moment, stemming the sudden, slight dizziness, before pushing herself into a half sitting position, arms shaking a little as she kept herself upright. "Is... Is Kioko okay?" Maya asked, shifting a leg a little further under her so she had a little more balance and trying to get her hair away from her face without actually moving her head too much.
She looked at Dravius at his conclusion, smiling a little. More trouble than he was worth, hm?... "Huh... You're just realising that?" She responded with a quiet laugh, attempting to punch Dravius lightly in the shoulder and failing miserably. She really didn't have the strength for it, that, and she had to pull her hand back pretty quick in order to stop herself falling off the bed. "I, personally, have been through a lot of trouble with you. Why stop now?" She smiled at him, then blew a strand of gold away from her eyes. "And... It's not really your fault." She murmered, running her fingers lightly over the back of the tall males hand. "You had an awkward past... It just... Keeps catching up to you. I suppose... You chose the difficult way out of your way of living when you decided to stay with Raphael." Pausing when she finished, Maya had gone to focusing on trying to sit properly when the Co-Master spoke, and she blinked at him.
It was rather surprising how relieved those last words made her feel. Well, she wouldn't be on her own, at least, and right now. That was the last thing she wanted. Maya couldn't help but smile at his hopeful face, the big doofus. "'I'd... Feel better if you did. I can't help but feel a little unsafe at the moment." She responded, pausing for a moment, before adding. "... A lot seems to happen to me..." She sighed quietly, then continued. "How many people did those... kids hurt?... And where are they now?... And-" She stopped, eyes pausing on Dravius' torso, a jolt of fear hitting her square in the chest. "Dravius." She murmered, her ex pression alarmed. "Why are you... Bleeding, like that?"
Snorting a bit at Maya's reaction to being "gnawed on", Dravius blinked and furrowed his brows. To your two questions, one, yeah, you were simultaniously bitten and licked, quite a bit, and two, yes. A library that has ben set upon by a dozen people making pancakes." He seemed deadly serious, still tapping Maya's wrist, then looking marginally concerned as he saw her arms shake. "Her arm's hurt, and I can't say what it did inside her head, to be honest..." He trailed off after a bit, coughing quietly. He only looked more concerned at Maya's attempts at jesting. "Awkward...is not the word I'd use to describe it..." He murmered, brushing a hank of Maya's hair out of her face. "No, I get it. I kind of....need a place to stay anyways....those two kids kind of...ripped everything in my possession apart." Dravius said, haltingly. He sighed through his nose, and said, "I think six or seven. I only just got back, really." He seemed distraced, then, and was staring at Maya's wall at the young woman's next question. "Hmm?" He looked down at Maya, tilting his head, and then following her gaze to his torso. It was, admittedly, hard to see due to the dark colour of the fabric of his shirt. "Bleeding like what?" Dravius put a hand to the small tear in the fabric, and was more than a little worried to feel the slightly sticky wetness of blood. "Uh. I think I got stabbed, actually." He let go off Maya's hand and stood, tugging his shirt off the examine a rather wide, still bleeding heavily from it. "Oh, dear." He said, rather mildly, and then took a small jar of white paste out of his pocket, gently covering his open wound with it, and looking quite unconcerned. "It's not a big deal, I just have to patch myself up." He wrapped a generous amount of clean white gauze around his stomach, rubbing his eye with a free hand. "Taa daa.." He said weakly, wiggling his fingers. He still had wraps of gauze around his upper arms, and going diagonally from the top of his shoulder to the top part of his torso. If this continued, he would turn out like a mummy....
Kioko returned Julian's sideways glance, leaning her head on her knees. "I guess?" she said hesitantly. The young girl sighed, wrapping her arms around her legs and hugging them tightly. "I just wanted to go for a walk. I was bored," she mumbled. "Then I ended up getting kidnapped by that creepy guy, and everything just. Went wrong." The pyro leaned back suddenly, face in her hands. "I've been practicing trying to control my powers ever since I joined the circus," she continued randomly. "I thought I was getting better at it. And then, today... When Vayne made me go into the woods, I thought maybe, if I could summon enough flame to startle him, he'd lose his concentration long enough for me to do something. And, I would be able to stop him. Or, at least slow him down? But..." Her hands slid down, grasping at her shoulders as she curled up once more. "It wouldn't work. When I needed to use my powers, the only time I really needed them, I couldn't call on them. And then, Dravvy found me, and that guy used my powers, when I couldn't. I couldn't do anything except watch as he stabbed him," she whispered. "I just. Had to lay there. I couldn't even bl ink, or turn my head. It was horrible."
Nylat watched Erik curiously, her ears remaining back, only lifting slightly at his display. She tilted her head, snorting. "Definantly unique. You could surely perform with a gift like that." When Zyano spoke, she listened, an idea creeping into her mind. With a flick of her tail, she was suddenly grinned widely to herself, fangs flashing. "Ah, I could make a performer of you. Humans seem oddly attracted to feats of strength. I would know." She flicked her ear into a more comfortable, challenging position as she stood, looking at Zyano. "We'll see who's stronger eventually, I'm sure." After a moment, she started back off toward the Circus, before looking back over her shoulder. "Come on, you two. I'm pretty sure we can find you guys a van for the night. I'm notoing to bother Raphael or Dravius about new members tonight. It's been...stressful, today." ~~ Kanec was pretty much right beside Disera as they flew, and when she landed on Selvai's shoulder, he followed, landing on his other shoulder just in time to hear his response to her. He clacked his beak a few times before speaking. "Not good. Any idea the names of the victims?" He wanted to make note of who had gotten hurt so he could be sure to visit them later and make sure they were well. If they survived--as horrible as it was to think. He'd had run-ins with poisons before. Thankfully, his shifting had saved him. Bitten as a bird, shifted into an elephant and the amount was no problem to him. There were many cases of him being bitten, but usually as small animals. So he had survived this far. But the people that couldn't shift... He clicked his beak sharply to stop that train of thought and glared at the ground.
"You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters."
Throwing a quick glance in Kioko's direction, Julian merely nodded a little as she started talking, then went off to gaze at members in the grounds as she continued. "You are." Julian murmered quietly when Kioko mentioned about increasing her skill with her ability, before falling silent and continuing to listen.
Leaning lightly against the door frame from where he sat on the stairs, he frowned a little, dark eyes focused skyward. "That sounds... Like a problem." He said, still frowning slightly. "The ability to completely control someone else' person, hm?..." He pondered the idea silently for a moment. Poor Kioko. He could only imagine how frightening that was... Well. He'd have to go and ask Raphael to demostrate it if he wanted anything further than "imagining"... The Ring-Master was capable of recreating any kind of situation.
Sighing quietly through his nose, he looked at Kioko as she wrapped up her deion, before standing slowly and sliding his hands into his pant pockets. He watched her for a moment, blue eyes seeming to almost look straight through the girl, before he turned away. "That tends to be the case. Some can use their ability when put directly before fear... Others panic and are unable to use their ability if they don't have full control. Clearly your the latter if you were unable to call on your power."
He paused, then looked back over his shoulder. "That... Man. Must have understood your ability in order to use it. Now you need to do the same. In fact... I think I can provide a solution." He paused again, glancing off, before looking back towards Kioko, a strange, very slight smile on his face.
"Raphael."
~~~
Zyano had been laying, eyes closed, feeling quite content when he heard Nylat speak, only lifting his head to look at her when she mentioned performing. Performing?... He flicked his ears forward, and would have been frowning if he'd been human. Still, his ex pression was not really all that accomodating.
He could only watch her as she headed off. Stronger?... What the heck was she on about?... He was pretty sure he hadn't challenged her to anything, and to be honest. He didn't particularly want to. There was little point in it, and Zyano very rarely did anything with little meaning. Sitting up, he looked at Erik. "Did I come across as competitive, at some point?" He asked, turning his attention back to the female hybrid when he heard her speak again.
He flicked an ear at Erik, before standing. "Shall we?" He asked, before padding slowly after Nylat. He really did not understand that one.
~~~ Maya, having finally got herself into a decent sitting position, listened to Dravius' responses while warily eyeing the blood that now resided over the green of the floor. The severity of her earlier aches and pains had prevented her from really noticing it, although now that the sensation had dimmed she was able to think a little more clearly. The girl, rubbing her sore shoulder gently, mentally reminded herself to visit Kioko later when she got a chance. She'd been more than just a little worried about Dravius' words regarding her, and Maya felt, personally, she was probably the one understood most that girl's situation. At Dravius' mention of needing a place to stay, the young woman looked up quickly at him, frowning as he explained. "What exactly do you mean... Everything?" She asked, looking a little startled. She didn't particularly understand why those two kids would do such a thing, and it had to be pretty bad if Dravius was unable to remain in the thing. Biting her lip a little, Maya stared at the floor, listening to the rest of the dark-haired male's words. Six or seven people injured... That many people in her situation. Still, it could have been much, much worse, she supposed. Sighing quietly, the girl glanced up when she felt the Co-Master move from where he sat on the bed, watching as he revealed the extent of the injury under his shirt. Needless to say it wasn't pleasant for Maya to see him with a wound like that, and her heart sank at the sight of it. She wasn't, paculiarly enough, particularly bothered by the injury, or the blood, itself. Well, that was, essentially, the point of Dravius' act, so she'd become rather accustomed to seeing wounds such as that through her years in the Circus. No, what made her skin crawl was the fact someone else had done that to him, that, and the simple fact it was Dravius. Even though he was unable to feel it, he could still have been seriously hurt, and it was pretty clear by the girl's ex pression she was worrying because of it. "You shouldn't just brush that off..." She murmered in a concerned tone, furrowing her brows at Dravius, slowly bringing her legs over the edge of her bed. She managed to pull herself to her feet with surprising balance for someone who was aching so much, and she managed to keep herself fairly upright. She was still frowning heavily at Dravius as she placed her hands either side of the tall males waist in order to keep herself balanced. "You need to check it. Properly. You don't know whether they've hit an organ or... An artery... Or something. Just 'cause you can do it to yourself with little risk Mr. Perfect doesn't mean everyone else is so careful. Nnn." She stared at the red spot on the Co-Master's clean white gauze, gently "headdeasking" his chest before looking up again and tugging on his arm. She was making funny little noises of worry as she gestured with an arm to a small door against the wall that stood towards the front of the van. "Bathroom. Now. You can wash your shirt in there as well... Just... Soak it in the bath or something. I can... clean this." She waved a hand at the floor, pouting in the same direction before looking back up at Dravius. "All right?"
"Uhm." Dravius looked a little sheepish, leaning against the wall of Maya's van, still with his shirt off and white gauze standing out against his stomach. "They even tore my walls apart, actually. There's absolutely no words left." He said, with a heavy note of sadness in his voice. He shook his head and tried to smile, managing to come up with a tight-lipped grin. "And I'll be fine, really." He rean his hands through his hair again, brushing it away from his face. There were bits of hair ruffled up in the back, as if he had just rolled out of bed. Dravius took a step forewards as Maya got up, concerned about her standing on her own, although she looked rather steady. The fact that she was holding onto him might've helped... "Properly?" Dravius seemed genuinely surprised that Maya was so concerned over him, feeling the dull impact the young woman's head made in the center of his chest. It made him cough a bit, and followed her for a few steps as the butterfly winged girl tugged on him. "Wh-what?" He still seemed a little speechless, his head tilted to the side. "Uhm. Alright. Sorry about...bleeding all over your floor." He said, a bit awkwardly, rubbing the side of his neck with one hand, the other's wrist still held. Dravius pulled his arm away from the young woman and nodded, grabbing his shirt and slipping into Maya's bathroom, a clean white contrast to the usually dark, and rather shabby one belonging to him. The tall male turned the bright silver faucet on Maya's sink, putting his shirt in the main part and watching the red spiral down the drain. Leaving the garment to soak, he unwound the rather bloody bandage from his middle, examining the slim, but deep, wound. It was a rather sharp blade. Dravius sucked in a breath through his teeth, and gently pulled either side of the laceration, pushing his fingertips into the wound. It didn't seem to have damaged anything major, but was deeper than he had though before, although slim enough to stich up easily, which the Co-Master did, quickly, and biting the thread off with his sharp teeth. Winding a new la yer of gauze around the gently weeping wound, he rinsed his shirt out once more and wrung it out, hanging it gently over the edge of the sink. Dravius poked his head back into the main body of the van, then walked out, bare feet making soft impacts on the smooth floor of the dwelling. "Fixed it. It didn't hit anything vital, but I stitched it up just the same." He shrugged and sat down on the very edge of Maya's bed. There was a small black mark sitting low on his hipbone, the top half of an intertwined, rather stylized X and B twined together. The tall male leaned up against the wall of Maya's van and stared into nothing, looking through anything into the van at empty space. "Sorry...for bringing all of this to you..."
"Yes, properly." Maya snorted, going back to tugging on Dravius' before pausing to frown at him. "Why the face?" She asked, looking a little confused at his surprised ex pression. She blinked at his question, then waved away his apology for bleeding all over the place. Not that it was really his fault. Not delibrately.
"Oh, wait." Maya said, quickly slipping into her bathroom before Dravius, collecting a small tub of water and two old cloths, placing both onto the nearby chair as she emerged. "'Kay." She watched the Co-Master disappear into the room shortly after, then set about cleaning the floor with a sigh. He really should take better care of himself... Or at last have the motivation to check such injuries without prompting. He'd be helping no-one if he collapsed from blood loss, or something.
Lifting the water from the chair, the young woman placed it gently on the floor before kneeling beside it. Luckily, the amount of blood on the floor seemed minimal, probably due to Dravius' shirt and other clothing taking the brunt of it, and it took Maya very little time to actually clean it. Wiping it down with her second, dry cloth, the girl threw it into the tub of water as she finished, lifting the bowl before placing it back on the chair. She immediately made her way to her bed before flopping onto it, arms outstretched.
It took much effort, she concluded, grumbling through her nose about her aches and pains. She only turned her head when she heard Dravius speak, shifting herself up and into a sitting position. "That's good." She said, clearly relieved, and watching as the Co-Master settled himself on the edge of her bed.
"Oh... You know... I can help you with your van... Later, when you decide to start working on it. We could probably get a few of the other members to help. Uh. With the walls, and stuff." She suggested, watching a butterfly that seemingly appeared out of nowhere crawl up the side of the bed. She continued to watch the little insect up until the point she heard Dravius' voice, and looked up at him with slight confusion.
"All of this?" She repeated, quickly throwing a glance at the floor before looking back at him. Well. She'd had to put up with a heck of a lot ever since... Since Break. Since Dravius had chosen the Circus over his previous life. Sighing, she scooted herself up the bed so that she sat next to him, very gently waving a hand in front of his face. "It's not really your fault, all right?" She stated, pulling on his hair in order to bring his attention back. "I told you. It's just... Your past. It doesn't seem to want to leave you alone." She smiled slightly. "And it's not like you're delibrately directing this at me... I just have incredibly bad luck... Break... That was my own fault. Because I refused to leave you alone. This... Well... As far as I know... It was chance. I wasn;t the only one affected, remember?... Besides. You have to be worth all this bother if Raphael still has you here." She teased, prodding him in the arm, before returning to a more sombre ex pression.
"But really, Dravius. Don't worry yourself over it. Please?... Blaming yourself won't do anything." She paused, then smiled a little again, leaning forward slightly to kiss him on the cheek. "You're worth the has.sle, and I'll be all right. I promise. Besides... I'd probably be willing to endure far worse for you." She laughed, blushing furiously when she seemed to realise that last statement was probably very true. Well, it most likely was.
Dravius looked a bit despairing at more talk of his van. The image of everything decimated, strewn across the partially ripped up floor, was extremely depressing to him, and he sighed, slouching the put his elbows on his knees. "Yeah. We need...all new stuff, actually. They even pulled the springs out of my matress..." He trailed off, brushing something off of his shoulder, most likely a thread or something similar. He sighed, a rather shuddering sound. The tall male shot a rather disbelieving look at Maya, and said, with an almost annoyed tone, "Stop trying to pas.s blame to yourself. It's no one's fault but mine." He looked extraordinarily frustrated, almost to the point of being angry, and he had knotted his fingers together. He leaned away slightly when the young woman began tugging on his hair, trying to maintain a serious ex pression. When Maya began prodding him in the arm, he managed to come up with a thin smile, rubbing one eye witht he heel of his hand. As the butterfly winged girl continued talking, he looked supremely skeptical, and raised one eyebrow at her quick peck on the cheek. Dravius laughed quietly at her bright red face, giving her a quick hug before getting to his feet and stretching, the tips of his pale fingers nearly reaching Maya's ceiling. He made a discontented "Nnnn" noise, flopping down on Maya's floor, closing his eyes and letting his head flop to the side, his jaw tight. The male's palms were pressed to the floor, fingers splayed and flat against the green surface. He looked rather discontent, the muscles on his shoulder knotted so tight they stood out as cords running onto his collar bone.
"Thank you!" Erik beamed, ignoring Nylat's snort. "I'd be glad to entertain at this circus of yours, if your ring master doesn't ob ject. I am a very versatile sort of person, after all. No doubt I'll be of use during shows," the shifter said proudly. "But as you said, we should concentrate on our lodgings for the night." Grunting a bit as he picked up his suitcase with both hands, Erik began to follow the two hybrids in the direction of the circus grounds, shooting an amused look at Zyano's first question. "Not that I was witness to," he replied, making sure to let Nylat get a ways ahead of them before he continued speaking. Although his lagging behind was partly influenced in part by the effort to carry his suitcase in a smaller and weaker form. "You know..." the now blonde man (woman) drawled. "When little kids pick on each other like that, it usually means they have a crush on their target. Just pointing that out," he said airily. "Not at all implying anything by it. At all. Just stating a random fact that has nothing to do with the situation." ------- Selvai shook his head, careful of the pair of shifters that had taken residence on his shoulders. "I only just arrived here myself, so I can not be sure. There were several, at least six or seven from what I can glean from what everyone is saying." The magician paused for a moment, jaw clenching for a moment before he continued. "The victims were close to death, before an antidote was found. Appearantly, Maya was among them. She's been moved to her van, and Dravius is with her." "Ohgeez," Disera shifted from one foot to another in agitation, ruffling her feathers. "What did all the damage? It's been caught, right?" "I believe Raphael bound the culprit in one of his illusions? As I said, I missed the initial confrontation. I have recieved most of my information second hand from those who were actually here when it happened." Sighing, Selvai closed his eyes, rubbing at one line near his right temple. "I do wish I could provide the two of you with a more complete account. I realize how frustrating it is to be unable to find out the details of something like this, especially considering how severe it was." --------- Kioko slid her hands into her lap, lacing her fingers together as she watched Julian stand up from the steps. She listened to the dark haired male's suggestion, chewing her lip uncertainly. "I. Don't know," she replied shakily. Looking away when he glanced back at her, the pyro thought for a long moment about the sword master's solution. "I understand that I need to deal with this," she began, taking a deep breath to steady her shaky voice. "But, with all the things that happened today... I just don't want to take up his time, when he's probably going to be busy dealing with the damage and all the members that were injured." Plus, even though Julian had pointed out the flaws with it, the white haired girl wanted to do nothing else at that moment but crawl back into the van and lock the doors behind her. She finally returned his look, feeling Miyuki land on a strand of her hair and begin to crawl around. "I don't want to go outside anymore," she confessed weakly. "I feel like just locking the doors forever, and staying inside the van from now on." She dropped her head back to her knees to avoid having to see Julian's reaction. "I'm sorry. I don't think I can handle this right now."
Maya, having listened to Dravius continue about his van, and noticing his seeming aversion to it, decided to drop the subject there. She was, needless to say, a little taken aback by Dravius' following tone, and just a little hurt; Crossing her legs when he stood and placing her arms in the space between them.
The young woman barely reacted when he hugged her, then watched him as he splayed himself over her floor, before turning to look at the van door. She couldn't stand to keep watching the Co-Master like this, that, and she really didn't like making him so irritated. He'd never really been so towards her. He was also stressing himself far more than he needed to, and Maya truly felt she was unable to bring him out of it there and then. She didn't, couldn't, not after only just recovering herself from... Whatever it was that had happened to her. She always seemed to be trying to help Dravius whenever something happened, and it was usually after she'd had to face her own problems. The whole thing was only making her feel worse, and right now, she was bad enough as it is. And yet she was still very concerned about him going all solitary on them again.
Rubbing her sore shoulder lightly, and actually paying attention to her aching limbs,, the girl managed to uncross herself and slip from the bed silently. Well. The best thing she could do was be straight with him, simply because moping about not being able to help him would only mkae it worse.
Sighing quietly, the girl seated herself next to Dravius, being sure to keep far enough away that she wasn't actually touching him. She felt she'd made enough mistakes today, and she didn't want him to get angry again. Especially not towards her. Sighing again, she simply watched him for a while, noting his tense state, before she eventually had to ask. She couldn't talk to him if she didn't know exactly what was wrong. Well ,she could guess... But he needed to talk. Keeping it bottled was how he'd ended up in his van for eight month. And as tired as she was from her own recovery, she always seemed to put his problems first.
She reached forward, touching his shoulder tentatively, so much so that her touch might have pas.sed for a landing butterfly. "Dravius?" She asked, voice quiet and soft, pulling her hand back to rest it in her lap. "Talk to me... Please?... You're not..." She paused, inhaling slowly, and sounding almost on the verge of tears. "This is not your fault." She stated quietly. "Not your fault you... You were brought up by... Him. It's not you. You're not doing this on purpose, and blaming yourself is stupid, Dravius. It won't change what's happened. And... Please, just... Don't keep everything to yourself." She finished, glancing at the floor for a moment.
She risked a glance upward, then scooted forward a little so that she could reach him a little easier, placing the tips of her fingers on his shoulder, mimicking his earlier actions when she had been recovering. Her gaze was focused half-heartedly on his gauzed torso, her ex pression sad, and almost hurting. She needed to help him, to talk to him. It was the only way she could get what he was thinking, and right now... She needed to know.
Julian shook his head slightly at Kioko's words. "I didn't mean this very moment. But you should seriously consider seeig him." Looking at the pyro for a moment, the Sword-Master eventually turned his gaze away to just simply listen. He closed his eyes as she concluded.
"I understand. But that is only the start. You have to face it. It will, I'm afraid to say, escalate if you give in." He paused, opening his eyes to stare at the wall of a nearby van before turning back to Kioko. "It's hard, yes. But easier if you stay around people you know. Believe me. You lock yourself away now and you will only make it worse in the long run."
The dark male stopped there, a little unsure of just what else he could say. She had to understand, though he admitted that it wasn't that easy. Locking herself up would do nothing. Not to mention locking Nylat out of her own van might prove to be a bad idea. He sighed. What else could he do.
Nylat padded through the Circus grounds with the two following her, glancing around at the vans, trying to remember where the empty ones were. They were always spread out everywhere, depending on how they were driven here and by whom. Finally, she came across one, about as far from her van as she could manage, and jumped up on top, waiting for the two who had lagged behind. She sat down and flicked her tail over her feet, watching the two carefully. "So, I take it you two would probably prefer to share--but if you aren't, I can try and find another van. Anyways, this one is blank, and furnished as lightly as usual. You can paint the outside one of these days, and furnish the inside, both however you wish. Blah blah, stuff like that." She brought her head down, rubbing the side with a paw, as if she had a headache. She really didn't feel like this, but it had to be done eventually. It had been so long since she'd actually run through everything with a new member that she'd forgotten quite a bit of it. "If you want to know more, try asking one of us older members, or Dravius or Raphael. But I wouldn't suggest bothering those two today." She shook her head, clearing her mind, before flicking her tail around the other way. "Well, here's you van, enjoy it." With a flick of her ears, she jumped from the van, and padded away, her tail swishing slowly as she debated on visitng to see if Maya was feeling better. ((Fff. Unmotivated.))
"You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters."
Dravius heard the very faint rustling as Maya apparently slipped from her bed, and opened his one good eye to gaze at the underside of the young woman's bed, still working the muscles in his jaw silently. He could see Maya's bright gold hair from the corner of his eye, and sighed quietly, directing his gaze again towards the bottom of Maya's bedframe. He really didn't feel like talking at all, but he had the vague feeling that Maya desprately wanted him too. It was just something he didn't wish to explain, and his shoulder twitched as Maya touched it, lifting his head and looking at her flatly, a rather dull look in his eyes. "Talk to you...." He muttered, settling his head back down and staring at Maya's ceiling, with the many insects dancing in front of it. The male listened to Maya talking, her words becoming a dull buzz in his ears, and he pressed his hands harder into the floor. "Hmm? I thought we already a.ssertained that I wasn't all that smart." He said, rather seriously, sitting up slowly, rising first to his elbows. "It's not really something to talk about. I've never been good at feelings." Dravius drew his knees to his chest, still looking distracted, concentrating on his bare feet. "I hate seeing you worry about me." Dravius said suddenly, eyes coming back into focus, and eyebrows furrowing. "It bothers me. Just...worry about yourself. Not me. I'm fine. But no one seems to believe me when I say that." He seemed frustrated once again, and shook his head quickly, frowning. He gave Maya an exasperated look and said, "May, you need to rest. Please? I have good reason to be worried about you." Dravius got up, with a sigh, and leaned against the wall, rubbing his bad eye with a few fingers.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."
