"I'm not a doughnut. I can't even eat them." Dravius snorted, flopping onto his side and grinning up at Maya. The tall Co-Master's mood swings were like to give people whiplash, but at least he cheeered up quickly, as he was smiling hugely and he pushed himself up on his elbow, letting out a short laugh as the fluffy covering fell over his head, the white pillowed surface piling on his shoulders. The man shook his head, his shock of dark hair distinct against the duvet. "No, I'm alright. I'm not the 'just almost died' party in this situation." He used air quotes, laughing and scooting away from Maya's prodding, then standing up, ducking instinctivley, then straightening up, the top of his mussed hair just a few inches from the ceiling. Draivus laughed quietly, batting at the young woman's still poking fingers, raising an eyebrow.

"I guess I can go with Raphael," The Co-Master folded his legs on top of one another in the chair, leaning to put his elbows on his knees and look at the butterfly-winged girl across from him. "I need all new everything. It'll take me a while to replace all the instruments." He looked thoughtful, then leaned back against the backing of the chair, wrapping the duvet around his shoulders, toes poking out over the edge of the peice of furniture he was sitting in. "I have a feeling you're up to something. You get this look on your face, Raphael always called it 'The cat who ate the canary'..." Dravius gave a wolfish smile, sticking the corner of a chocolate covered pretzel in his mouth and then searching his pockets, pulling out the marbled vial of ink that he had tucked there earlier, then holding it up to the dim electric light on the van.

The light illuminated the creases of white throughout the black ink, and the CO-Master took a thin brush from a pocket and gently dipped the tip into the ink, leanin over the side of the chair to ink something in the shadows of the furniture. The darkly shimmering ink spelled out lyrics from a song, proclaiming, "One million and one thousand things are screaming in my head, and I can't seem to forget, can't stop thinking about you. I could ride across the sky in a bicycle built for two. Could you teach me how to ride, like you taught me how to feel alive?" in the male's spiky, scrawling, meandering handwriting, slanted upwards as if the words wanted to rise. Dravius nodded and sat back in the chair, settling in with his long frame folded to fit in the chair, eyelids lowering, before his breathing deepened and he snuggled his head into the corner of the chair and fell asleep, an unusually deep one at that, his pale skin almost seeming to glow in the dimness.

Having had absoloutely no clue how Dravius' inability to eat doughnuts related to him being a doughnut, Maya had been thinking over that sentence when his "dying" statement got her attention and she looked up with a raised eyebrow. "Oh. Thanks for reminding me." She retorted, still trying to jab him in the side before he moved off to settle himself on the chair.

"I hope you're not gonna try and get all your instruments at once," She laughed, sitting so that her back was pressed lightly against the wall next to her bed. "You might have trouble carrying a drumset and everything else. Even with Raphael's help." Reaching out with her hands, Maya spent a moment trying to straighten the duvet on her bed, which had still been somewhat all over the place due to her earlier situation. She paused only to look at the Co-Master when he spoke again, her ex
pression genuinely confused.

"Cat that ate the canary?" She asked. "I'd have thought that saying was more for people who had succeeded in something already. My day today has been far from successful." She snorted, smiling slightly and going back to trying to get her bed covers into some semblance of order. Failing to actually get anywhere while she was sat on it, the young woman slipped from the bed, deciding to tackle this particular problem the less complicated way.

It didn't take long, and she flopped back onto the now neat duvet just in time to catch Dravius finishing whatever it was he was doing on the side of the chair. Tilting her head, Maya had been about to ask exactly what it was he'd done, stopping herself short when she noticed that the tall male had already slipped into sleep. Blinking, she pulled herself off the bed again, and walked over to the chair in which Dravius was situated, crouching a little so that she could read what he'd written. The lyrics there were completely unrecognisable to her, but she couldn't help smiling at them all the same. Straightening herself up, she kissed the Co-Master softly on the forehead, before noticing that he'd managed to dislodge Brandon from where she'd left him on the chair the other day.

Picking up the giant squishy, she smiled at it for a moment, then walked back to the bed and clambered back onto it, keeping her arms firmly around the stuffed insect. Snuggling her face into the soft material, she very quickly slipped into a doze of her own, despite the little bubble of excitement and anticipation that lay in her stomach. Her wings flared sluggishly, almost unconsciously, before simply falling to lay over the bedcovers as she eventually fell asleep.

~.:Time Skip:.~

The morning after, as it usually was for the Majikus, was an early one. The only exception to this was show nights, in which the late finishing hours usually meant a late morning for the members the following day. Save of course, for those who chose to hit the sack before the performances ended, or even started in some cases. So there was always the select few who woke pretty much before everyone else.

Raphael, who had been one of the early risers, sat outside his van on the small set of stairs that resided just outside the door, sifting through a number of papers that held information about the performing members. He'd ensured that the members who had been planning to take part in last night's show were moved to tonight's, except for the one performing member who had been bitten yesterday. Although, admittedly, she seemed perfectly fine today, he had suggested she swap her slot with a member who was performing tomorrow night, which seemed to be fine with her.

Yawning, Raphael straightened the papers he held on a stair, before pushing himself to his feet and heading into the cool shade of his van. Despite it being early morning, the weather was proving, again, to be incredibly warm, and no doubt it was likely to only get hotter as the day wore on.

Sliding the papers onto his desk, the Ring-Master quickly double checked performance times and other such things, before heading back outside and re-seating himself on the stairs, waiting on the arrival of Dravius. He'd already spoken to Julian earlier that morning, asking the Sword-Master to deal with the minor runnings of the place until he returned from his promised trip into town. Julian, naturally, had no objections to doing it, though it wasn't a particularly difficult thing for him to do in the first place. The members usually did what he asked as soon as he asked it. Probably something to do with the way he looked at them otherwise.

The few members who had been keeping watch throughout the night had retired to their beds by this point, to be replaced with other members who had also offered to take up the post of security within and outside the Circus grounds. Raphael himself was debating whether or not he should invoke his own ability to heighten the strength of the security. The problem there was his inability to keep up two, very complicated illusions at once. He would probably have to forego his perfomances if he chose to use his illusions elsewhere.

Sighing through his nose, the tall blonde folded his arms behind his head, leaning gently against the side of the door and watching a couple of nearby members without any real attention. The current level of security would be just fine, he silently as.sessed, considering the sheer range of abilities now in place to safeguard the grounds.

Yawning again, Raphael inhaled slowly, waving in response to a few pas.sing members as they greeted him good morning before holding a hand over his eyes. It really was rather warm out here.

Erik woke up in a quite unusual way, cradled by a soft mattress instead of curled up on a patch of grass that was less hard than the rest of the ground.  A plush, clean smelling blanket was wrapped around him, and the shifter wriggled around in his cloth cocoon, getting comfortable again.  He allowed himself to doze for a few more minutes before finally deciding to get up and face the day.  He unrolled himself from the comforter and lazily made his way to the door, strolling outside.

Blinking at the early morning sun, Erik shielded his eyes with a hand as he looked for Zyano, soon finding the large hybrid stretched out beside the van steps.  "Morning, lovely!" he chirped.  Smiling, he settled on the top step, sitting sideways so he could dangle his legs freely.  The red head stretched his feet, snagging tufts of Zyano's fur with his toes and gently tugging at them.  "Are you awake yet?  I want to go see about meeting with the circus master today.  Oh!  And some of the circus members as well.  I bet there are lots of interesting people around."

Erik gave up pulling at the large wolf's fur and instead slithered off the stairs, landing in a heap beside Zyano, not caring about the dirt and grass that was gathering on his night clothes.  "Come on, Zyano.  I bet we'll meet Nylat again," he cooed.

-----

The white haired girl woke up with her eyes swollen and puffy, and a feeling of unhappiness and slight dread.  She rolled onto her stomach, pressing her palms to her face and rubbing at her eyes.  Facedown on the bed, it crossed the pyro's mind to go back on her word to Julian and simply stay in the van all day.  He probably wouldn't notice her not being around the circus grounds.  Yesterday had been pretty bad, everyone would likely be preoccupied with dealing with whatever damage the intruders had caused.  And Julian would undoubtably be among them...

Sighing, she reluctantly pushed herself up from the bed and shuffled to the small bathroom.  Kioko wash her face with cold water, scrubbing at the dried tear tracks on her cheeks.  Examining her face in the mirror, her mood was further dampened.  Her cheeks were a splotchy red, and the whites of her eyes were also a bloodshot red from the previous night's tears.  Wisps of her white hair stuck out wildy around her head, and Kioko used her wet fingertips to try and smooth them down.

She finally left the bathroom, smiling weakly at Nylat as she perched on the edge of the bed.  "Uh.  Good morning, Nylat."

Nylat knew it was going to be a bad day from the start. To begin with, she'd been plauged with nightmares about before. She hated it when she dreamed about them and there. It happened rarely, but it had happened after her run-in with Jevak, and now, after meeting Zyano. She guessed it was just meeting another hybrid brought the memories back up. Memories that she buried so deep she'd thought she'd forgotten. But she couldn't just erase eleven years of her life. That was her problem.

To add to her already-grumpy night, she kept waking up, trying to shake the nightmares, trying to slip into something more peaceful when she slept. But that didn't work. Then, when she finally did wake up, her side was killing her. Probably from all of her running around the day before, and then the restless night. She scratched at her side wealky, then buried herself in her blankets, groaning, her tail the only part of her visible.

When Kioko greeted her, she murmured something in a cat language, then grumbled, her reply muffled. "What's so good about this morning?" She flopped over on her side, still wrapped up in her blankets, and nosed her head out, shaking off the cloth that covered her eyes so she could look at Kioko. "Can I just sleep all day? It would be better than trying to face the world--No, I can't do that. Gotta be the peppy little hybrid everyone knows and loves." Her tone was harsh, and she slipped into the rough tones of wolf often, as well as the smooth dialect of fox. She sounded disgusted at the fact of acting happy, but she stood, shaking off the rest of her bedding, then sat, licking her side, wincing every time she crossed one of her scars.

Dravius had spent an unusually restful night folded up in the large chair next to Maya's bed, muttering in his sleep and generally managing to twist the duvet around him until only his face from the nose down was visible. He eventually awoke with a bit of a start, disoriented at the brightness of the van, the insects that had perched on the chair over night scattering from their sleeping places. The tall man unfolded himself with a series of cracks, blinking at Maya sleeping on top of the rather large butterfly he had made for her only a day before. The man laughed quietly and pulled a slip of paper out of his pocket and scribbled a note stating that he'd started into town with Raphael, and gently and carefully balanced the note on top of the young woman's head.

He ducked into Maya's bathroom to grab his now-dry shirt and pull it on, pushing the huge sleeves over his elbows and padding out of the van in barefeet, blinking in the early morning sun. Dravius was usually an early riser due to the fact that he was an awful sleeper. It was fairly late for him, as the sun was already hovering well about the horizon, and he could tell that it was going to be a wickedly hot day.

The Co-Master shaded his eyes and looked for Raphael, finaly just walking in a stright line towards his friend's van, blinking quickly. He looked rather groggy, his hair poking up in the back from rubbing against the back of the chair. Dravius grinned when he caught sight of the blond Ringmaster, waving and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "Mmmmhi." He mumbled, yawning hugely. "Why'd Maya ask you to go shopping with me?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. He could tell that Maya hadn't just been asking Raphael about members, and that was his next best as.sumption. He yawned again, covering his gaping mouth with a pale hand. "She looked like she was up to something, and frankly it makes me nervous." He laughed quietly and grinned at Raphael, blinking lazily in the strong sun. "Bound to be hot, nnn?" He asked, equally lazily, smiling lopsidedly.

Zyano had, initially, planned on snoozing outside his and Erik's new van for a little while longer than the red-head seemed to allow. The ring of the human male's voice made the hybrid groan a little, though he didn't bother to open his eyes, and instead just half flopped, half rolled onto his side.

Lifting his head only when he felt Erik pulling lightly on his fur, Zyano fixed the male with a bleary gaze, the fur on his neck bunched on one side due to the way he was laying. He pawed at the Shifters' feet. "Do you mind?" He asked, yawning hugely, before pulling himself to all fours and stretching; His size increasing substaintially with the movement. Flicking his ears forward, he glanced around the surrounding grounds, then looked at Erik, sitting on his haunches as he did so. "I agree with you. We have yet to meet anyone properly."

Yawning again, he watched the red-head as he slipped from the stairs, half snorting, half growling at his words. "Don't say it like that. I'd prefer to keep clear of that one." He looked off, keeping an ear facing Erik's general direction. "She seems to dislike my presence." He added. "And we are not going anywhere until you get out of those night clothes."

~~~
"Why, good morning." Raphael greeted, turning his eyes from where he had been gazing to watch as Dravius approached, standing and running a hand briefly through his blonde hair. "My, sleeping beauty, you look positively dazed this morning." He laughed, stopping short to listen.
"Huh." To be honest. He didn't know. Maya hadn't really said why she wanted Dravius out of the grounds, so Raphael's ex
pression was genuinely unknowing, despite the fact he felt the same. She certainly was up to something, but there was little point letting Dravius know that. "Who knows?" He responded, stepping down from his stairs and slipping a hand into a pant pocket. "I think she probably would have gone with you any other time. I can only as.sume, after what happened yesterday, that she plans to stay in bed all day. She had to deal with quite a bit afterall."
He shrugged. "Besides. I wanted to go out there myself at some point. Today seems a fine day to do it." He covered his eyes with a hand, glancing skyward, before smiling at Dravius. "I doubt Maya has the energy to be up to anything, and yes. Very hot" He laughed. "Come on. Let's go get your things sorted. We do have a show tonight, so the earlier we set off, the better."
Tugging lightly on the strand of blonde that ran over his shoulder, he pushed it out of the way, so that it ran freely down his back, before heading off in the town's general direction. "We probably won't be able to get everything in one trip..." He mused, looking over his shoulder. "You might want to just focus on the essentials today. Clothes and the like."
~~~

Maya had still been sleeping on Dravius' departure, and remained so for a few more minutes, only slightly put off by the peculiar sensation on her head. Yawning, she snuggled her face further into the squishy she was holding, her brows knitting together as something brushed her face.

Reaching full wakefullness with a slight start, the young woman pushed herself quickly to an elbow, eyes focused on a piece of paper that was currently fluttering onto the floor. Shifting slightly, she leaned over the side of the bed and snatched it up, falling back onto the pillow to read it. Her first reaction was a slight fear, simply because she had absoloutely no idea when Dravius had left, and if he'd left a long while ago, she might not have the time to do what she'd hoped.

Sitting up, Maya immediately looked up, reading into the thoughts of the surrounding insects, and letting loose a loud sigh of relief at the fact that the Co-Master had left barely 10 minutes ago. According to them, anyway. She had to giggle at those who had been a bit ruffled when Dravius woke up, and were currently fluttering around in a mood.

Brushing her hair behind her ears, Maya slipped quickly from the bed, proceeding to change into a pair of black capris and a plain white tank top. She chose to also tie her hair back, the mas.s creating a single river of gold, save for the side fringe that just wouldn't reach that far and remained blithely over one eye. Slipping on a pair of plain sandals, she put the spare duvet away, then walked to the door and peeked out of it. It didn't look like Dravius was out here, and with any luck he was probably on his way to town already.

Slipping out of the door, Maya closed it behind her with a quiet snap, then sprinted off towards Nylat's van. She paused outside the door, before knocking and entering, placing her head through the door first. "Good morning." She said brightly, stepping into the room, frowning a little when she noted the atmosphere in here. It was then she remembered what Kioko had been through yesterday, though she had no idea why Nylat was looking so out of sorts.

Pouting, she glanced between the two of them, then sighed, frowning at Kioko. "Are you all right?" She asked, before raising an eyebrow at Nylat. "And what's wrong with you?" Sighing again, the blonde shook her head, sitting herself on the bottom of Kioko's bed and smiling slightly. "What do you both say to helping me with something this morning, hm?"

Dravius gave Raphael a blank stare at his "Sleeping Beauty" comment. Wasn't Sleeping Beauty that woman in the pink dress in those disney movies? He shook his head and concentrated back on what the shorter male was saying, then responding rather sluggishly with, "Oh, I suppose that makes enough sense." He yawned right after his sentence was completed, still looking rather bleary. "I got up, like, five minutes ago. I'm still a bit....out of it." He explained, rubbing his eyes with both hands. "Mmmyes. Early to go, early to get back, no?" He stretched his arms above his head with a grunt, still getting the vague suspicion that Maya was up to something, but, at the moment he was too lazy to be obstinate enough to investigate.

"Yeah. I wasn't planning to haul a dozen instruments back," Dravius snorted at Raphael and began marching rather spiritedly towards down, hair still askew in the back. The town was not all that far away, a five minute walk at the most, although the change form gra.ss under his feet to stright concrete was a bit abrupt for Dravius, and he illiceted more than a few suspicious looks from some townspeople, who apparantly didn't appreciate the late cancellation of last night's show. The shoestore, only a few feet away, was were Dravius first hopped into, sifting through the huge wall of shoe boxes to tug out shiny new red converse, in a size nine, and held them up with an examining eye. He really only needed one pair of shoes, considering that he almost never bothered to wear them. He snorted and continued poking through the many shoes, humming the same tune he had been the day before, whose tune happened to be the one to the words he had written on Maya's wall, reaching out the reach the very top of the wall of boxes, tognue poking out slightly in concentration. He rebuked any attempts by the overly-friendly male shopwroker, insisting he didn't need any help finding shoes, and looking a bit skeptical. With two pairs on converse, one white and one red, he settled them on the counter and paid quickly, saying to Raphael, "Done with shoes, at least."

"Had to wake up eventually.  Of course, if you don't like the way I woke you, I could always go find that little Daniel boy from the other day and have him wake you up, if you want," Erik teased the large hybrid.  He shifted around, leaning against the side of the van as Zyano changed positions.  The red head pulled his legs up to his chest as he continued.  "Yeah.  I'd have thought at least a few people would have been curious about the new arrivals.  It's a bit disappointing, to be honest."

The shifter returned Zyano's snort with one of his own, rolling his eyes.  "That's alright.  I quite understand.  You're so overwhelmed by your sudden feelings of passion you can't bring yourself to face her right now.  Happens to even the best of us sometimes.  I won't push you into anything right now.  Just give yourself time to get used to them, then go talk to her," he replied with a vicious smirk.  "And I'll go get myself dressed while you're doing that," the shifter added, hurrying back into the van before Zyano could react.

It didn't take as long as he had hoped to change into a fresh set of clothing, and Erik eventually peeked out from behind the van door at the hybrid who was still sitting beside the steps.  "Well...  Ready then?" he asked innocently.

-----

The pyro cringed abit at Nylat's rant, dropping her eyes to her lap where she was picking at the hem of her shirt nervously.  "Um... I'm sorry?" she offered quietly.  "I didn't mean to put you in a bad mood.."  She sat quietly for the next few minutes, until Maya knocked on the door and entered.  Miyuki detached herself from the ceiling as the blonde entered, fluttering downward and around Maya's head in greeting before settling onto Kioko's head.  The white haired girl reached up to gently stroke the small butterfly before dropping her hand back to her lap.

"I'm... better than I was yesterday," Kioko told the butterfly winged girl quietly.  She brushed more hair out of her face as she listened to Maya's request.  Even though the idea of going outside still made her incredibly nervous and upset, her promise to Julian the day before was foremost in her mind as she considered.  "I suppose I could help," she said finally.  "What do you need me to do?"

Nylat glanced up at Kioko when she apologied, whining a bit. "Oh, no, it isn't you. Just problems of my own that seem to want to pile up on me today. She stood shakily and jumped up on the bed as Maya came in, and pouted. When she heard Maya's request and answer, she growled to herself. "My side, for the most part. And I had the nightmares again." She stretched herself out, only to immediately recoil, whining. She licked her side, curling up around it. "As for help, I'm not sure how much help I can be today. But I'll try." She sat up, biting back another whine, cursing in slight undertones of wolf. With a weak amoutn of effort, she smiled slightly at Maya, trying to ignore her side.

"You certainly look it." Raphael laughed, his comment directed at Dravius' statement about being generally "out of it". He snorted quietly at the Co-Master's following words, setting off at a paced walk as he replied in a thoughtful tone. "Not really. It's more of a, "set off early, stay there a little longer" sort of deal. It's been a long while since I've been in any sort of town simply for the sake of it. Last time I was was when you'd been pulled in by the police a week or so ago. Give me a chance to explore the place before you rush off anywhere."

Laughing quietly, the Ring-Master pulled his hand out of his pocket, then crossed his arms behind his head. He was wearing a very simple plain white t-shirt, donning a dark red tribal pattern on the chest that stretched towards each shoulder, mimicking something akin to wings, and a pair of plain, dark gray jeans.

He listened quietly to the taller male's words about hauling all those instruments back, then snorted. "I never thought you we're that stu-" The Ring-Master started, cutting himself short to think a minute. No. Wait. Maybe that statement wasn't entirely true. Clearing his throat, the tall blonde skipped a few steps forward out of Dravius' reach before adding- "Nevermind~" In a sing-song tone of voice, an amused grin on his face.

The journey into town was short, and like the Co-Master, Raphael noticed easily the rather dissappointed glares in their direction. Not that they needed to be that way. They were, after all, all invited to tonight's show seeing as they'd already purchased tickets. Watching them, he barely noticed Dravius enter the shop until he turned to look, and entered the shop shortly after, resting against a nearby wall as his younger friend went exploring. "No black?" He asked, smiling a little as he examined Dravius' choices, shrugging when the male stated he'd finished. "All right. If you're certain." He paused, then for lack of anything else to say, asked- "How is it going with Maya, anyhow?" He figured Dravius would know what he meant by that question, and pulled himself away from the wall to open the store door.

"You know..." He added after another moment. "I was thinking, seeing as were out here. Why not give a little demonstration to our... Ah, dissappointed guests out there?... Might get them excited enough to make them a somewhat pleasant audience tonight. It might stop them being all miffed at us, at least." It would also buy a little time, he reasoned, stepping swiftly out of the door and into the increasingly warm sunlight. He'd promised Maya a couple of hours, after all.

~~~
"I'm glad." Maya murmured, looking slightly concerned at Kioko's current ex
pression and smiling fleetingly as Miyuki fluttered around her head. Once the little butterfly had settled back with the pyro, the butterfly winged young woman glanced at her own gauzed arm, wincing a little before sighing.
She turned to look at Nylat as the hybrid spoke, looking more concerned at her words. "Maybe you should have Dravius take a look at it. Your side, that is." She suggested. "He's usually very good with that sort of thing, particularly if it hurts. For a guy who can't feel pain, he's very good at dealing with other people's. Or hybrids" Smiling slightly, she stood and walked to Nylat when the Hybrid sat herself up, crouching to stroke the fox behind an ear. "And it's okay. You can just keep us company if you want... It shouldn't take too long."
Glancing over her shoulder, Maya blinked at Kioko's question, then sighed through her nose. "Everyone seems... So down, lately. You, Nylat here... Dravius, too." She paused, then looked off towards the door. "He was talking to me yesterday. And it just seems he worries far more than he should. I also heard his van's a bit of a mess, and I just... Want to lighten the load a little, you know?" Maya had chosen delibrately not to go into detail about what Dravius had said, there was little point. That, and what he had said had taken a lot of effort for him to say. He'd told her in confidence. Having everyone else worry about him wouldn't help at all.
Smiling at Nylat, she gave the hybrid a quick scratch behind the ear, then stood. "I want to sort his van out for him." She answered Kioko, looking thoughtful. It only just now occured to her how severely damaged his van might be. Looking at the door, she glanced back towards Kioko and Nylat, before opening it. "You don't have to come out if you don't want to. I just thought... It might be a good idea. It would take your mind off things."
Stepping outside the van, Maya glanced over her shoulder. "I'll meet you at Dravius' van if you want to help." She said, smiling confidently, before taking off at a sprint towards Dravius' van. It was probably a good idea to check what she was dealing with after all. It was only when she reached it that she had to stare. To say it was a mess was an understatement. The outside was bad enough, most of the metal scratched and gouged. She'd really need to contact Zephyre for this.
Looking slightly alarmed, and more than just a little nervous, she managed to open the somewhat ravaged door before stepping quickly inside, narrowly avoiding stepping on a number of the Co-Master's previously hidden nails, a few of which were now very visible with parts of the floor missing. The walls, completely covered in mas.ses of ink, obscured all the writing that used to be there, and everything else was a complete mess. Furniture destroyed, tatters and splinters everywhere.
The young woman ran a hand over her face. It was very possible she'd got in way over her head here, she hadn't expected anything quite on this scale. It took a moment for the girl to realise what she was seeing, and immedaitely crouched to obtain the splinter of wood that had caught her eye. She recognised it as part of the box that she had pas.sed on to Dravius on Valentines day, and there was a terrible sinking feeling in her stomach as she looked at the wall. The inks up there were just as easily identifiable, and Maya very suddenly had a strong urge to just mope over the loss of it. Not over the thing itself, but more the fact that it stood for everything she felt for Dravius. She had, after all, had the damn thing two years before finally managing to get it to him on the day she was supposed to hand it over.
Feeling more than just a little upset by this point, the young blonde dropped the splinter of wood before heading back outside. It really was depressing, sad to think that every one of hid possessions had just... Gone. She had been very much on the urge of giving up by this point, only to remember that leaving it wasn't what she wanted. The thought of Dravius immediately put a stop on any temptation of giving in, and the girl looked back over her shoulder with a determined ex
pression on her face. She could have this done in an hour, if she had help. The Majikus, after all, was no ordinary Circus.
"Nope, no black this time. Trying not to be as depressing or scary. People always seem to be scared of me. Maybe less black will help." Draivus shrugged and paid quickly. He slid the boxes under one arm and grinned at his friend, then letting a slightly confused ex
pression come over his face. "Demonstration?" He coughed quietly, looking at the surrounding people. "That's true. I hate having people mad at me..." He trailed off, looking slightly worried. "We could do it. I suppose." He shifted his feet and stepped outside the door, blinking in the blazing sunlight. Bloody hot already.
Dravius set his shoeboxes down next to the shoestore, and reached into the box for a moment, coming up with a long white shoelace. He also fished several small, darkly varnished boxes lined on the inside with glas.s from his pockets, full of a bright blue liqiud that was actually a strong antiseptic. He dipped the shoelace in the antiseptic, watching the cloth fizz slightly, then dipped a long, wickedly pointed skewer in the strong-smelling stuff. He was still humming that tune as he prepared four more metal rods, then stood up with them inbetween his fingers, and stuck his tongue out to it's full, unnatural length, tying the shoelace onto the end of the skewer.
Picking a spot on the bottom of his purple tongue, he gently pressed the skewer to the dark flesh, suddenly shoving hard enough to travel through the entire height of his tongue, pulling the fiber shoelace after it, untying it and pressing it to the side of his jaw, calmly twisting the metal through his face, poking it out on the other side of his face, protruding just above his bottom set of teeth. More than a few people stopped and stared with slight looks of revulsion and fascination as the tall male worked another peice of metal through the skin between his bad eye and his nose. He was still humming, the shoelace snaking out of one side of his mouth. With all five skewers in his face, Dravius sterilized a needle and a length of thread and started sewing something up the length of his forearm with short, prescise strokes. He was completely relaxed, eyes slightly hooded as people gathered around. The word "THE" had already been embroidered on his flesh, with an "M" forming swiftly.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again."
"Depressing or scary, eh?... Unless I'm very much mistaken, your entire being practically lives to be like that. Your act certainly isn't doing you any favours if you're wanting to be all fluffy and loveable." Raphael laughed, watching as his Co-Master paid for his purchase, and rolling his eyes at the lack of an answer to his question. Figured, really. The Ring-Master hadn't really expected all that much.
Following the slightly taller male out of the store, he raised a questioning brow, looking slightly bewildered by Dravius' very sudden business-like manner as he retrieved a shoelace from the box. "Uh. Yeah... I'm sure they'll get over it." He murmered, continuing to watch Dravius and looking slightly amused by the faces of the surrrounding crowd. He'd suggested a demonstration, yes. But not immediately and outside a shoe store.
Glancing away from the male, he winced as he looked up,  covering his eyes to shield from the sunlight''s strong glare. It certainly looked like the weather was going to hold out, probably all week. Maybe longer. Pulling his eyes back to earth, he managed to catch the tail end of his younger friends demonstration, silently questioningly why he'd chosen to embroider that particular word on his arm. Shrugging to himself, he went back to watching the audience's reaction, grinning a little at the looks on their faces. They, as they usually were, were completely engrossed in what Dravius was doing.
"Ah yes. Just one of our many acts at the Majikus. I sincerely hope you're all planning to visit some point this week. We'll be in town an extra day due to the cancellation of last night's show." Raphael said from where he stood just behind Dravius, causing a number of the gathered audience to momentarily pull their eyes away from the Co-Master. Many of them just as swiftly turned their gazes back to him.
One of the spectators, however, looked at Raphael with a contemplative glance. "And what is it you do?" He asked, his tone of voice that of someone who wasn't entirely sure he wanted to know, and his rather fleeting look in Dravius' direction proved how uncertain he might have been.
"Oh, now. That would be telling. Although I suppose it wouldn't ruin much all things considered." He paused, eyes slightly distant looking before he shook his head. "All right. Describe a scene. Any scene." He stated, looking around at the others present. The spectating male took a moment to seemingly think it over, before describing a scene. Probably a scene from some lame video game or movie of some sort. Raphael should have known better than to ask. No-one seemed to have much of an imagination these days.
Sighing quietly through his nose, the tall blonde crossed his arms, thinking a moment, before shrugging. "All right." The ground beneath Raphael morphed swiftly into what seemed to be brown stone, the effect spreading very quickly in all directions. The surrounding shops and other buildings dissappeared into mist, to be replaced by small mountains and giant cracks in the earth; Scalding rivers of red ran past, creating a peculiar sort of oval around the gathered group, and the thunderous sound of what was unmistakeably an erupting valcano on the horizon. There was literally no trace of the town, and the new scene of utter devastation seemed to stretch forever in all directions.
The group, with muffled yells and terrified expressions, had pretty much just pressed themselves together, eyeing the lava flows carefully. The severe heat had increased tenfold due to the change in scene, and many of the people were starting to look uncomfortable being so close to those boiling rivers, though many of them couldn't seem to help but look slightly awestruck by whatever it was that was going on.
Raphael allowed them to get used to it, before cutting the Illusion short and looking over at Dravius. "I think we should carry on with what we came out here to do." He suggested, his smile amused as he caught sight of the way the townspeoeple were looking. Almost as though none of them seemed to really believe they'd seen what they had. Many of them were looking at Raphael in a slightly scared way, before switching to look at Dravius, expressions not changing in the slightest. My. He certainly did love the reactions.
"Like I mentioned. We're here for a week. They'll be tickets on sale today for tomorrow' show, if any of you are interested in coming to see the rest of what we have to offer." The Ring-Master added, before clapping Dravius on the shoulder and heading down the street, leaving the group behind him to stand there looking bewildered.
~~~

Having finally had a chance to as.sess the damage within Dravius' van, Maya chose there and then to get certain things sorted, before, and if, Nylat annd Kioko decided to show up. She headed immediately for Zephyre's van, which was rather a plain looking one when placed next to the other members. Knocking quickly on the door, she sincerely hoped he was in just as he answered the door, white-blonde hair hanging over his eyes.

"Oh. Good morning." He greeted brightly, opening the door to it's fullest extent and leaning against the door frame. "To what do I owe this unexpected visit?"

"Uh... I need some help." Maya responded, smiling sheepishly. "Along the line of van repair." The blonde male laughed, then quickly jumped the stairs and pulled his door closed.

"All right. Let me guess. Those bothersome little monsters from yesterday?... I've been called out to a few already... I hadn't realised they'd got into your van as well."

Maya looked a little confused, then waved her hands. "Oh, no. Not mine." She said, looking over her shoulder. Sighing through her nose, she vey quickly explained her situation, to which Zephyre agreed to as.sist, before running off in another direction.

The girl spoke to another member by the name of Clarisse, who had the peculiar ability of being able to replicate everything exactly as she saw it with one glance. Well, there was no way Maya was going to be able to redo Dravius floor what with all the holes needed for those nails. She also managed to get another couple of members to supply Clarisse with the needed wood, which was an incredibly dark style, and to which she got immediately to work after one glance of the pattern of holes in Dravius' current, half demolished floor.

Zephyre had been stood looking at the side of the damaged van when Maya finally apprached him, looking a little out of breath. "Don't push yourself too much." He suggested, smiling slightly before turning back to the van.

Maya just pff'd at him, then also looked at the van. "I think most of the major stuff is sorted already. The floor and the outside... You can fix it?" She asked, looking a little concerned as she focused on one of the deep slashes in the wall.

Zephyre nodded. "Easily." He said. "Although admittedly I wasn't expecting it to be quite this bad. The other vans were just scratches, but this... I'm afraid there's not much I can do about the paintwork, though."

Maya sighed quietly with relief. "That's all right... The painting's about the only thing I can do myself." She laughed, pointing to a couple of bucket's she'd managed to bring back with her. One contained black paint, one that contained a purple sheen when looked at in the right light. The other contained a dark, dark red. "Hopefully... If Kioko shows up, I can convince her to help."

"What about the furniture and the rest of it, then?"

"Oh. There's furniture everywhere here, that won't be a problem. And candles, the bed frame... The new chair. I think... We can find most of that stuff here already. Or make it, if we need to. You're handy with wood, right?" Maya responded, tilitng her head as Zephyre got to work on the outside of the van, laughing at her last words and dipping his fingers into the metal as though it was water. "That I am." He responded, proceeding to almost "spread" the metal around. It looked almost as though he was pulling along a silk curtain as he manipulated the metal into a smooth surface, covering the gouges with very little effort. The job took about 10 minutes, and Zephyre looked rather proudly at it as he finished, despite the fact most of the paintwork had been pulled off by his meddling. Maya, by this point, had gone to helping Clarisse with the new floor and walls, pulling out the old stuff with her and setting the new just outside so that it could be replaced once they'd finished.

"Oh.  Okay.  I'm just... On edge today, I guess," Kioko responded.  "Yesterday was not a nice experience," she continued, more quietly.  When the hybrid joined her on the bed, the white haired girl gently ran her fingers through the fur on Nylat's neck, making sure not to touch her sore side.  She paused for a moment when Nylat began to move around, lifting her hand as the hybrid sat up completely.

"Um.  I'll help," the pyro volunteered after hearing Maya's explanation.  She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear as she looked up at the blonde woman.  "I guess you make a good point about needing to take my mind off of things... And Dravius does alot for the rest of us.  We should do something for him."  Kioko returned Maya's smile as the other left the van, although not as brightly as the butterfly.  "I'll be there soon.  I just need to get myself sorted out first."

It took only a few minutes for her to change out of her night clothes and run a brush through the tangles of her white hair.  She splashed a bit more cold water on her face before leaving the bathroom to speak with Nylat.  "Uh.  I'm going to go help Maya, now, Ny,"  she informed the hybrid.  "I guess I'll see you there."  She stepped out of the van, heading toward what was left of Dravius'.

Dravius had quietly gone on with his embroidering, although he was getting a terrible itching sensation on the surface of his tongue. Probably from the cloth. He flicked his eyes to Raphael for a second, a brief smile making the skewers twtitch. He had no visible reaction to the abrupt scenery change, blinking once very slowly and taking the place in. It seemed vaugely familiar. It was probably stolen from something, if any other towns were a judge. He snorted at the shrieking townspeople, biting the thread that had completed the name of the Circus on his forearm in blood red thread. Uff. Why did Raphael pick somewhere so hot? He wasn't exactly dressed appropriately for it. Shoving his sleeves up even farther, the tall male sighed internally. Turning his head to his slightly shorter friend, and returned his short grin, his with the bright white shoelace still snaking out from his sharp teeth.

Dravius snorted again when Raphael moved on, raising an eyebrow at the still as.sembled crowd. "No, no, I'll just march around with skewers through my face. Better not give me any time to pull them out or say, stitch them up, you twit." He called teasingly, wrapping the shoelace around his fingers and giving it a sharp tug. It came out slick with blood, and a few of the more squeamish townspeople let out small screams as he stuck the length of cloth in his pocket and eased a skewer out of one side of his face, other hand ready with thin medical thread and a suture. His stitching was so swift the blood barely had anytime to start ozzing out of the wound befrore it was stitched up, on both the outside and inside of Dravius' cheek.

The other skewers went the same way, and the Co-Master worked his jaw back and forth. He hadn't bothered to stitch up the hole in his tongue, so a thin trickle of red was working it's way from either side of his mouth. "Well then, pip pip cheerio and all that." He said quickly, pivoting on his heel and walking away with both pairs of shoes, quickly catching up with his friend and shoving him to the side, snorting, "Gee, no, thanks for waiting up." He flicke dhis head to get a lock of hair out of his eyes and raised his eyebrows at Raphael, grinning hugely.

"Oh now. You're old enough to know that pulling those skewers out of your face is probably a good idea. You don't need me to tell you." Raphael snorted with a smile, lifting a hand without looking over his shoulder. "And I can call you a twit without adding that first part." He laughed, just as the Co-Master got close enough to shove him.

"Aww, come now. Would you rather I carried you?" He asked, still laughing and returning his younger friends shove with a light punch to the upper arm. "You might want to wipe your face, by the way. Otherwise your attempt to make yourself any less scary is going straight down the drain."

Smiling, the Ring-Master slid his hands into his pockets as he walked, becoming very interested in the surrounding scenery. It had, indeed, been a long while since Raphael had had much time to explore any town outside the Circus, seeing as he was usually busy elsewhere. This was, admittedly, a rather pleasant change, and the weather only served to make things more so. Yes, it was rather warm, but still. It wasn't too hot. Yet.It was only likely to get warmer, though.

pulling his hands out of his pockets, the tall blonde stretched them above his head, crinkling the tribal wings that resided on the front of his shirt. "You know." He said, looking at Dravius, arms coming to rest behind his head. "Maybe you should, while you're out here, get ahold of some more t-shirts. In weather like this your long-sleeved choices can't be all that comfortable." He shrugged, portraying his sentence was only a suggestion, before pausing outside a nearby store.

The street itself wasn't too busy, the sidewalk glowing with the strength of the sunlight and the plant life vivid in colour. The shop was rather large, the huge window displaying any number of shirts and other clothing, in a huge number of styles. "Oh. Why don't we take a look in this one?"

~~~
The entire process of recreating Dravius' holed floor didn't actually take all that long, despite the sheer of holes needing to be drilled into the dark wood. Clarisse, who had memorized the nail pattern from a mere glance, had had most of the spaces drilled in a short space of time with both Maya's and Zephyre's as.sistance.
While the new floor stood outside the van, Clarisse went on to completely remove the old, ruined, paint spattered floor, as Zephyre suggested going to find and retrieve the new furniture and wardrobe doors, as well as a new bed frame and other bits and bobs, such as the candles and whatever else.Maya watched the blonde leave, about to follow and help, before catching sight of the oncoming Kioko.
She looked momentarily surprised, then smiled hugely before running up to the younger girl. "Hey, Kioko!... Where's Nylat?" She asked, stopping to look over the pyro's shoulder. She had thought the hybrid would have come along with Kioko, but going by how she looked this morning, the butterfly hadn't been too sure about her showing up. She sincerely hoped she would, though.
Sighing through her nose, she looked back at Kioko and smile again, a warm, reas.suring sort of ex
pression on her face. "Come on," She said, hugging the girl briefly before gently taking hold of one of the pyro's hands, careful not to pull in case she'd taken hold of the previously injured arm. Maya had still remembered what she'd been told, and she didn't particularly want to accidentally agitate the girl's bruises, having known exactly how she felt.
"We've done the floor." She pointed out, smiling brightly at the pyro over her shoulder. "Clarisse is going to fit it once she gets the old stuff out. And the outside is done, too, more or less. Zephyre's gone to search for furniture." The butterfly stopped outside the van, smiling at the now smooth metal before brushing wood dust from her black cargo-style capris; Probably due to when she'd helped drill those darn floor holes. Pausing, she looked thoughtful for a moment, trying to count things off the list of "to do" before walking over to the black bucket of paint. She brought it back, then gently placed it on the floor beside the van.
The outside was almost done, thanks to Zephyre and his ability, so all that needed doing on this end was the painting. The inside needed a lot more work, though most of that was being completed with the introduction of the new floor and a few new wall panels. The walls weren't so bad... 'Cept for they needed repainting. And then, there was only the furniture to go.
Feeling like they were finally getting somewhere, Maya very gently eased the lid off the bucket, then looked at the van. "If you want..." She murmered, standing straight and smiled widely at Kioko. "You can help paint the outside?... I don't want you to hurt your arm too much by pulling things around... Not unless you want to and you feel you can. I'd like to help Clarisse with sorting out the inside, then I can help you."
Maya looked at the bucket, then walked off only to return with a couple of brushes. "I know it'll take time." She murmered, looking somewhat sadly at the younger girl, before bending slightly to dip the brush in the black paint, catching sight of the little marks on her ankle that had almost been fatal. "It's not easy to forget some things. But being busy means we have less time to think about it, right?" She added, standing straight and holding the brush out to Kioko, the orange gauze wrapped firmly around her healing wrist bright in the light. "It'll get better. Promise."
~~~

"No thank you. You're enough to put up with in the morning." Zyano yawned, flopping back onto his stomach and resting his muzzle on his front paws. He watched a few members as they pas.sed, seemingly out to enjoy the weather. That was good for them, he supposed. Unfortunately, he had no way of removing his fur, which could, naturally so, become rather uncomfortable in such heat.

Sighing through his nose, he lifted his head to look at Erik, thinking for a moment before speaking. "Indeed. In any other situation. But I told you, the last time I was here, that something was going on. And yesterday, you were there when something else seemed to be happening. It would seem these incidents required more attention than we do, at the moment. Not that we can blame them for it, really. It sounded rather serious."

He paused, growling a little at Erik's next words. He didn't bother to respond, clearly, doing so just riled him further into making more of these ridiculous comments. As the red-headed shifter dissappeared into their new van, the hybrid stood on all fours, before carefully padding around to the front of the van and jumping up onto the hood.He made his way swiftly to the roof, taking a quick look at the grounds from this vantage point, before hopping down in time to catch Erik as he re-emrged.

"Sure. I'll leave you to decide where we head first."

Kioko returned Maya's sudden hug with her uninjured arm, smiling in spite of her anxiety.  "I told her I was coming over here... I guess her injuries might be slowing her down?" the girl guessed with a shrug.  "She did seem to be in alot of pain.  I hope she's not too sore to move."  The pyro frowned as she suddnly thought of something.  "I should have asked if she was okay to make it here on here own.  I was so wrapped up in myself I didn't even think about it."

She was brought out of her thoughts by the touch of Maya's hand on her own, and responded by gently squeezing the hand in her own.  The white haired girl looked over the semi-repaired van while Maya listed the tasks that had already been completed, as well as what everyone involved was currently working on.  "It's looking much better than I remember.  From the outside, at least.  It looked like the van had been caught in a tornado last night," Kioko commented as Maya brought the bucket of black paint and pried off the lid.

"I'm not that bad off," Kioko said, managing to smile weakly a bit as she rubbed her injured arm.  "It's just bruised.  Really sore and bruised, but I can handle lifting a paintbrush, I think."  She took the offered brush and began to spread black streaks of paint across the metal side of the van as she listened to Maya speak.  The pyro remained oddly silent, brow furrowed as she processed the butterfly's words.

Having run out of paint, she dunked the brush back into the bucket, wiping the excess black paint off on the rim.  She stood, looking at the side of the van for a moment.  When Kioko spoke again, it was in an usually solemn voice.

"I know.  I'll get over it in time.  I always do, you know.  A few bruises aren't that bad.  They'll fade after a few days, after all."  She applied the paint much more sloppily this time, a few drips of black landing on her shoes as she continued talking.  "It's worst if something is twisted, or broken.  That hurts alot worse, especially when it goes a few days without being set.  Then you have to deal with the bones being moved around when they've started to heal together already," the pyro said in an almost conversational tone.

She stepped back, looking at the portion of the van she had already painted.  "It's kind of streaky," Kioko said suddenly.  She looked over at Maya shyly.  "I think we might have to put on a second coat of paint.

-----

"Oh, of course not.  Must see to the homestead first and all that."  The shifter jumped a bit when Zyano landed in front of him, but quickly covered for it by adjusting the hem of his white and orange t-shirt, coughing slightly.  "Anyway.  So I'm the leader today?  Sounds fun," he smirked.  "Although I don't really know where anything is here... So, how about we just walk around and get our bearings first?  Find out where everything important is and all that.  Maybe we'll run into someone who'll be willing to give us a tour while we're at it."

Stepping down from the van steps, Erik took a moment to curse the bright sun.  "I'm going to have even more freckles after this, I can already feel them forming.  Ugh.  Remind me to buy a parasol or something similar next time we come to a town, Zyano.  I refuse to have my skin marred even further by those horrible blemishes."  Still grumbling, the red head headed off in a random direction from the van, occasionally muttering something about his skin and sun damage.  "Why don't I own any hats?" he wondered aloud.

-----

From his spot in the shade of a tree just outside the circus grounds, Selvai watched Disera out of the corner of his eye, glancing back to the book in front of his face every so often.  The shifter had been acting unusual the entire morning, casting strange, secretive looks at him whenever she thought he was distracted by something.  The blue skinned woman had even followed him to this field when he had decided to indulge himself with a book, instead of finding and spending time with Kanec like she would have usually done.

He caught her looking at him once again, and Disera smiled innocently at the skeptical magician before plucking a few blades of grass and shredding them with her fingers.  Selvai watched her intently for a full minute before returning to his book.  After a few more minutes without any movement, or sideways glances from the shifter, he began to relax and concentrate fully on the story.

He'd become so absorbed in his book, he barely realized that Disera had moved until a small reflection of sunlight off metal caight his attention, and he had to duck to the side to avoid the shifter who had suddenly lunged toward him.  There was a metallic snick close to his head, and a chunk of black and white hair fell to the ground between the two.  Disera grimaced, still holding the scissors outward.  "Damn, you moved."

Mouth agape, Selvai's gaze traveled between the strand of hair on the grass and the scissors in her hand, and back again.  "What..?"

"You need a haircut," Disera declared, as if diving at another person with a sharp metal ob
ject were completely normal.

"So you lunged at me with scissors?  You could have seriously injured me!"  Book forgotten, he hurriedly pushed himself to his feet.  "And my hair is- was- perfectly fine!"

Disera snorted, also scrambling to her feet.  "I know what I'm doing.  Mostly.  You just need to stay still long enough for me to finish.  Now, get back over here."

"I do not need a haircut," the magician insisted, bringing his bandaged arm up between as if that would stop her.  He began to retreat backward as the shifter advanced, a determined look on her face.

"You look like a woman!"

"I do not look like a wo-DISERA STOP RUNNING WITH THOSE SCISSORS!"

Watching with a slight smile as Kioko took the brush and started painting, Maya remained where she was a moment, before being on the verge of stepping away in order to go and help Clarisse; Stopping short to listen as the white haired girl continued to speak.

It wasn't really the conversation, more the tone of voice; And that sound made her ex
pression take on a slightly concerned look. Maya had been in the Circus long enough to recognise that tone and the topic that was usually spoken in it. Anyone else, that is, the newer members, might not have realised the same thing unless they were around people like them constantly.

The young woman's face was almost sad as Kioko continued. It was all the more painful for her because she couldn't relate, not on a personal level. Maya had, after all, been brought up by a parent who very much loved her. But she knew full well the reality of some of the others, and how often it could affect them. Raphael, Nylat, Dravius. They could all probably relate more than she could, but still. She'd been here long enough to feel like she'd been through it herself.

What hurt the most, was probably the conversational tone that followed. How she could talk like that about her past was anyone's guess. Perhaps, a distance thing. The last words from the girl's mouth. however, made Maya look at the van almost as though she;d only just realised it was there.

With a quiet snort of sad laughter, the butterfly winged young woman, on impulse, reached forward and pulled Kioko into another hug, keeping her arms firmly around the younger girls shoulders. "You won't need to worry about that here. There;s no such thing as neglect." She murmered, smiling slightly, pulling away only when she heard Zephyre's voice, a good few minutes later.

"Hey. Turns out we got a lot of dark furniture." He said, raising an eyebrow slightly and putting down a rather tall table that he'd brought with him.

Maya smiled thankfully at him, then blinked at Kioko. "Oh. Uh. Zephyre?... Would you mind helping Clarisse with the floor and walls inside?" She asked, walking away from the pyro only to recieve a second brush before walking back, smiling at the white haired girl. "I'm going to stay out here."

Zephyre paused, then shrugged. "Sure. But you owe me." He laughed, strolling off to enter the van as Maya surveyed the outside.

"You know." She said, raising her eyebrows. "II think you're right about that second coat. We'd better get on with it then." She laughed, coating her own brush in paint before continuing where Kioko had left off.

Nylat had remained silent until Maya had left, and had remained where she was when Kioko had left, acknowledging her with a flick of her tail. She stared at the floor, debating on whether or not to follow. Finally, with a sigh, she pulled herself to her feet. She grimaced as she stood up on her back feet, pushing open te door. She stepped out, snapping the door shut with her back feet. Of course, by now her side was killing her, so she just sat outside for a short while, until the pain subsided into a dull throb. Then she got back up and started off toward Dravius's van, meandering at a clam pace, not paying attention to anything around her, not even noticing Erik and Zyano as she passed them. When she caught sight of Maya and Kioko panting the van, she grinned to herself, then summoned up what energy she had and dashed forward, dipping her tail in the paint as she passed and jumping up on top of the van, flicking her paint-coated tail over the side of the van. "Miss me?" She grinned, looking back over her shoulder at the two, letting the slight flash of pain in hr side subside.

~~

Kanec yawned, displaying unnaturally sharp teeth, two long fangs the crown of them all. He'd wken up extremely early that morning and moved onto the roof of his van, falling asleep as a sabertoothed tiger. However, one thing had changed since he'd fallen asleep. He hadn't fallen asleep with Daniel leaning against him, but here he was. Kanec sighed, slipping out from under the boy, careful to not wae him as he gently lowered him to the roof, jumping to the ground. Under other circumstances, or with any other kid, he's have been morecareful about leaving him alone, but Daniel had yet to run off and not come back, and he'd taken care of himself for years. So he didn't mind leaving him alone. Anyways, he had his kitten and rat to take care of him. They seemed to do pretty well in guiding him.

He shifted into his 'normal' self, shrugging his shoulders a few times before taking off, wheeling a few times to stretch his wings before shifting into a bald eagle, flying higher with stronger wingbeats. He then glided on the wind currents, just enjoying the warm air and the updrafts it created.

"You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters."

"I could call you worse, but May always tells me not to swear." Dravius shot back, ruffling Raphael's hair into tangles at the top of his head with one hand. "Like you can carry me. I might be light, but you make up with that with being weak." He teased, scrubbing the blood off of his face with his wrist, shaking his sleeves over his hands and sneezing violently, blinking hard after it.

"Nnn. I must be allergic to something," Dravius muttered, shaking his head like a wet dog and looking back at Raphael. "Yeah, a little uncomfortable in heat...." He echoed. "You're probably right. Also need to get more hats. They even ripped those to shreds. Y'know, I'm REALLY not looking foreward to starting to clean up my van." The tall male sighed, sticking his hands in his pocket and pulling out his sweets box, stuffing another chocolate covered pretzel in his mouth.

Dravius followed Raphael's gaze to the shop window, immediately drawn to some of the shirts in the top corner of the window. He grinned and nodded, ducking in and quickly collecting a large heap of clothing ranging from his usual black cargo pants to t-shirts in a variety of colours. All this took him maybe fifteen minutes, and he dumped the clothing on the sales counter, staring at Raphael. "Didn't you say you needed something?" He blinked once and paid, watching the teller place items into a large bag, which he hefted and slipped his shoes in, turning back towards the door and pausing on his way out. "We should head back. I feel like I should check on Maya." He looked slightly confused, batting an insect away from his face with a free hand.

"Never bring that horrid drink here again."

"It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

"Clearly her telling you not to do something hardly works. I've heard you swear." Raphael laughed, trying to flatten his hair once Dravius' had finished messing it up. "And rather recently, I should add."

He snorted, raising an eyebrow at the Co-Master's following words. "Actually. I probably could, and pff. That's only because your body refuses to aknowledge any pain inflicted upon it." He snorted again in as much of a disaindful manner as he could muster, looking highly amused. He''d gone back to looking at the shop display, "mm"-ing in reply to Dravius, before frowning slightly at the younger male.

He'd completely forgotten about the current state of Dravius' van. "Yeah. I wouldn't be looking forward to it either. If you want, though, I can help you out with it." Having had absoloutely no idea of what Maya was doing, Raphael naturally had no idea he probably wouldn't need to help out. But because he was as much in the dark as Dravius, his offer was entirely sincere, and he truly was readying himself to help the Co-Master. Frowning at the thouught of completely needing to redo everything in the younger male's van, the Ring-Master followed as he walked into the store.

As the Co-Master practically flung himself around the shop like a tornado, the tall blonde Illusionist merely watched, slightly surprised by the sheer speed in which Dravius seemed to complete buying everything he needed. Really. Smiling to himself, he raised an eyebrow as the Co-Master directed a question at him, then paused to actually think about it.

"I probably do. Unfortunately my memory seems to have deserted me." And it genuinely had. Shrugging, he grinned at Dravius. "If I need anything later, I'm sure I'll be able to convince Julian to head out here."

He made to follow the dark haired male out of the store, pausing when he did. "Oh?... I think she can manage without you for a couple of hours... Though saying that we've been out here a while..." Quickly checking the time, he slipped out of the store in front of Dravius. He was pretty certain they'd been out here long enough, but just in case. "All right. But there;s no rush to get back. Let's make one last visit. Do you want to get a few of your instruments today?... I can carry them for you if you do."

It was a short while later when Maya, having been painting the outside of Dravius' van, put down the brush in order to help Clarisse and Zephyre  set the floor and walls. The new floor and wall panels looked amazing once they'd been set, and the young woman had to pause to look at it before she stepped outside the door.

The floor, previously paint splattered and scarred, was now a new, dark, burnt wood, completely free of scratches and any marks; Save for the holes that allowed for the nails to move without a problem. The walls, also previously battered, were completely smooth, though they still needed painting. The bed frame had already been fitted in the same position as the old, same colour as the dark floor, as well as the new wardrobe doors and other bits and bobs. Maya had spent only a short amount of time helping the other two, seeing as her injured wrist didn't allow for her to do too much, though it was finished in a short space of time, anyway.

Almost throwing her arms in the air with how successful this was turning out to be, Maya immediately left the van, almost walking into Clarisse as she did. A very quick conversation ensued, in which Clarisse let the butterfly winged woman know that Zephyre was needed elsewhere, though he'd return to help later, before she offered to deal with the painting inside the van. Moving the furniture in would come after.

Practically glowing with excitement by this point, Maya swiftly made her way back to Kioko, picking up her brush and contuing with the second coating of black paint. "You need to see it in there." She said, her voice portraying her excitable nature. "It's brilliant. All we need to do now is the painting, though Clarisse offered to start that already." She paused, then smiled hugely at Kioko. "Maybe you can help me set up the inside once the furniture is in?... The candles and things?... You don't need to move anything too heavy."

She went back to focusing on the painting, pausing only when Nylat appeared. Maya barely had time to even greet the hybrid before she'd practically ducked herself in paint, then leapt onto the roof. "Of course we missed you, Nylat. It's nice for you to join us." She replied with a laugh, pausing to look at the fox' tail with raised eyebrows, though she continued with painting. "Are you sure that was a good idea?... It might be a little difficult to get this stuff out of your fur."
