"No, no, I'm really not." Dravius said to Raphael, looking back at the van. "He's probably melted down my drumset or something. Or taken all the screws out of the van. " Sighing, he nodded as there was a noise of metal against wood, something being dragged across the van. "I don't really need him with me, but I don't think it would be wise to put him with anyone else," Dravius added, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'm fairly reluctant to see what he's done to my van. Something with chemicals and heat, no doubt." Rubbing the side of his neck, he breathed in deeply as a rather delicious scent that seemed to be issueing from his own truck. "And why am I smelling chocolate?" Dravius asked confusedly. The door to Dravius's wagon creaked open, and gem poked his head out, his square glas.ses fogged over and coughing slightly. The smell of melting sugar and chocolate had doubled when the door had opened, and still hung in the air when Gemini pulled his head back in and shut the dark door. "I'm as.suming he's made candy?" Dravius asked no-one, rubbing the side of his arm. "What do we still need to do?" He asked Raphael, inspecting the grounds and the lights that glowed a few feet off the ground, going all the way up to about seven feet. They had a particular member in the Circus who made these, and the lights moved constantly, moving in lines to the main tent and back to the sign that blared proudly, "The Circus Majikus"

"Oh, he knows what he'd doing," Julian murmered. "He'd almost have to, running this place," He yawned, then pulled a dagger from the belt around his waist. He'd almost forgotten he was filling in for Maya... With a quiet sigh, he looked back at Zinc, listening to the boogeyman talk. He certainly could talk, that was sure... Julian was pretty certain that if you found an interesting topic, Zinc himself, for example, the guy could probably talk all day, and probably would, too. He glanced over at the main tent. "Intruiguing," He murmered in response to the tall, pink haired male. He'd completely ignored the guys change in tone, balancing his loose dagger over his fingers, before throwing it a few inch into the air and catching it. "Alright," He said, glancing at Spider, before turning Selvai with a slight inclination of the head. "Julian Elois," He replied by way of greeting. "Pleasure," He added, glancing off towards where Dravius and Raphael stood. "Excuse me for a moment," He turned and walked towards the two, coming to a stop not far from the owners. ~~~ Raphael frowned slightly at Nylat, then looked at Dravius. Well, he was probably right... Leaving Gem with anyone else was likely to cause more than just a few problems, and that wasn't really what they needed at this moment in time. With a sigh, he ran a hand over his face. He dropped his arm when Dravius mentioned chocolate, raising an eyebrow in the direction of thr younger males van. He kept his eyes on the van when Gem emerged, only looking away when the Co-master asked about whatever was left to do. "Yeah... Uh, Dravius. You know what?... Leave me to it... You might want to go and prevent any further damage to your van," He laughed quietly. "Just head to the main tent in 10 minutes or so," He glanced dubiously at the van, then sighed and crouched, placing both hands on each side of Nylat's head. "Keep an eye on Maya for me, alright?... If you can, bring her to the tent. It's probably best to not leave her on her own," He said quietly, a small worried smile on his face. At that moment, Julian approached, placing a loose dagger into his belt. "Alright. When was Maya's slot?" He asked, glancing between Dravius and Raphael, then looking at the Co-Masters van with a strange ex pression. "The final one," Raphael replied lithely, standing up. "Dravius will meet us in there... He has, uh... An issue to deal with," He shook his head, then turned on his heel and headed towards the main pavilion. Julian blinked, then looked at Dravius. "The glow-eyed guy is staying with you?" He asked, feeling sorry for the white haired kid already. ~~~ Grumbling under her breath, Maya made her way across the grounds, pausing for a moment outside her van. With a sigh, she entered, and proceeded to change herself into new, and much dryer, clothes. She sat herself on the bed, her eyes on the splint that resided on her wrist. It still hurt, but she absoloutely refused to ask for help, from anyone... She just didn't want to be surrounded, not now, and not anytime soon. With a wince, she fell forward onto the mattress, her hair splaying haphazardly over her back, her wings extended; One of them resting against the wall beside the bed, the other slanting towards the floor. She didn't feel able to do anything, she didn't particularly want to. Thinking hurt too much, and walking around the camp grounds or even just being here made her think. She didn't want to think... Her mind seemed unable to pull away from the one thing that hurt most. With another sigh, she lifted an arm to cover her face, silent tears landing on the mattress. Why had everything turned out so hard?...

Nylat, having been zoned out again, flicked her ears back at the sound of metal and wood scraping against each other. She perked up when Raphael gave her her task, and seemed almost to excited about looking after her friend. She sprinted off with a considerable boost in spirit, glad that it wasn't raining. It'd make it a bit easier to find Maya. When Nylat zoned out, she paid little attention to anything. After snuffling about for a few minutes, she was finally led to Maya's van, and she unsheathed one set of claws, setting her paw lightly on the van door. She drummed her claws a few times before sheathed them and setting her paw down, waiting for a response. After a bit with no response, Nylat carefully opened the door, padding inside with silent steps. She turned and closed the door, careful not to catch her tail in the doorway like she'd done many times before. She flicked her tail, before padding over to Maya's bed, jumping gently up beside her, careful not to step on her of her wings. "Maya...?" ((Lol. Selvai was smart. Fallow's overly-touchy. And after having exploded on Kanec like that, its gonna take a while for her to cam down. XD))

((Poor Fallow. xD)) After a few silent moments, her eyes closed and her face in the mattress, Maya sighed, roughly attempting to wipe away the tears., not that it did much... God damnit, if the other Circus members didn't think she had fallen in to some kind of depression by now ,she'd have got off lucky. Not that she cared, she couldn't really care less at the moment. With an agitated flick of the head, most of her gold hair fell over the side of the mattress, revealing the thin, jagged scratches that resided on the left side of her neck, thanks to Alto's little lapse earlier that day. It felt like so long ago. She jumped somewhat at the sound of knocking, and with one move, managed to flop herself onto her side, facing away from the door, her wings flared. It was a futile attempt really, seeing as she wouldn't stop anyone walking in on her unless she got up and locked the door. Unfortunately, she just couldn't find the energy. After a moment or two, she heard the door open, and kept her eyes shut. When she heard Nylat's voice however, she glanced sideways up at the hybrid, then focused her eyes on the wall in front of her. "Hm?"

((XD Yep. Fallow's the one I mess with. Just because.)) Nylat flicked her tail, whining a bit. "You okay? You seem awfully anti-social. More so than earlier, even." She knew it was an obvious question--almost as obvious as the worry in her voice. All of the worry that had been building up, it all spilled out now, and the hybrid took on a very upset appearance. her ears drooped, her eyes were soft and glistening with the beginning of tears, and even her pelt seemed duller. She whined again, laying her head on the side of Maya's. "You're making me depressed, you know. And us two were a couple of the happiest souls in the Circus." She blamed it partly on herself. She'd brought it all up, and though it seemed like years ago, it'd only been about a day. She was not impressed with the impact, like she thought she would have. It had taken a completely wrong turn. And if she hadn't brought it up, it may never have gone this direction.

((How mean are you, Nylat. xD OKAY. Last post for Maya tonight~>)) She kept her eyes on the wall, listening to the hybrid in silence. She twisted her head slightly to look at Nylat, her violet eyes concerned. She didn't want to do this, make the others, specifically Nylat, worry like they did... But what could she do?... With a quiet sigh, she looked back at the wall. "I'm sorry, Nylat. Everything just feels so pointless," She whispered, closing her eyes, fresh tears visible on her face. It wasn't quite the outburst of despair... More a silent suffering. With an unbelievable amount of willpower, the winged teen lifted herself onto an elbow, eventually coming to sit with her back to the wall, facing the door of the van; A golden veil shading most of her face. "I didn't know... It'd hurt so much," She shifted slightly, one glistening eye visible, as she pulled her knees up, wrapping her arms around them as she so often did."I can't let it go... I thought... Maybe.. I could forget it," She shook her head, then slouched forward slightly, her forehead on a knee. She hadn't realised this was the most she had spoken since yesterday. Yesterday.. Why did it seem so much longer?... She glanced upwards, watching a number of butterflies flutter half-heartedly above her. There were a few in the van, and they always seemed to react to her mood. "I don't know what I can do..." She laid her head on her knee again, biting her lip, her face anguished.

Nylat moved carefully as Maya shifted herself around, catching every word with a flick of her ears. She listened intently until she was sure she was done talking. She wanted to address it all at once. "First of all, nothing is pointless. And no need to apologize, that's my job." Deciding not to go further on the point unless prompted, she continued on. "No one knows anything 'til it happens. And, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but things are hard to forget." With care, she curled herself up next the Maya, whining a bit. "There is little one can do. All events are planned. The road is built. All you can do is continue on the road, albeit bumpy, and hope it smooths over." She flicked her tail over her eyes, lifting the tip away for a second to gaze at her with a still-shining eye. She then decided to flick her tail away, pinning it under her front paws. "If not for anything but peace of mind. And no matter what, never, ever forget--I'm here for you."

"Alright, Raph." Dravius said, trotting over to his van and opening the door. The scent of chocolate and melted suger redoubled again, permeating the entire camp with a sweet, delicious smell. Gem poked his head out and pointed back, his even usually pointy hair sticking up in what seemed to be sugar-coated spikes. Dravius put his hand to his forehead and said in a rather loud voice, "You burned the stand my drums were on?!" The glow-eyed boy nodded, polishing his glas.ses. Dravius shook his head and headed in, shoving Gem out with a wave of his hand, along with a metal stand that held a huge butterfly made of different colored sugar, which seemed to be the source of the smell. The giant insect was still warm, and Gem had to try to support it as the tips of the wings started to droop. Dravius sat back in thwe large chair in his van, eyeing the pile of drums and cymbals piled in the corner, with the smouldering remains of his drum stand in the corner, next to dozens of very sticky glas.s jars. "I cannot believe him!" He groaned, picking up a loose cymbal. His entire van was hot and thick with the scent of melted sugar, which was starting to make his head spin. Dravius leaned his head against the wall, coughing slightly and jumping up when a glob of sugar plopped onto his forehead, waving the sugar with a, "HOT! HOT!" <~>~<~> Gem dragged the now-cool butterfly accros the gras.s, his thin arms straining to pull the heavy confection. Gemini eventually made it to Mayanna's van, knocking on the doors while panting slightly. The wings of the butterfly were almost a carbon copy of the girl's even though the glowing boy had only glanced at them before he entered Dravius's van. Gem had a bit of a photographic memory, and he had noticed the sad state of the girl and Wolfe, so he figured that closer study of those broken hearts would be beneficial. Pulling out his pen and notebook, and putting back on his polished glas.ses. "Hello?" He called flatly, knocking rather impatiently. He frowned slightly, which almost seemed unnatural on his expresionless face.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

((Would that heat not be clas.sed as pain? xD And pfft. Gem. xD Oh. Forgot to reply to Selvai. Dx *Edits post*)) With a shrug, Julian watched Dravius leave for his van, smiling slightly at the kids luck. If Gem's personality was anything to go by earlier, the Co-Master had an eventful journey ahead of him, and probably very probing. He glanced at the main tent. The show probably wouldn't start for another half hour or so, Raphael would simply be laying down the order and the acts. Scratching the back of his head, he turned to look at Zinc and the man who had introduced himself as Selvai. He didn't need to head to the tent, not yet, seeing as Maya's slot was the final one. With a shrug, he walked back towards the two of them, only pausing to watch as Gem emerged from Dravius' van, pulling along what seemed to be a giant butterfly. "What the-" What the hell was with this guy?... He frowned, watching the glow-eyed male make his way to Maya's van, unsure of whether or not to intervene. He was pretty sure however, that Maya didn't need him, of all people, trying to read her at this moment in time. Besides, wasn't Dravius supposed to be keeping an eye on him?... He wasn't doing much of a job, hm? "Sorry," He murmered, stopping in front of Zinc and Selvai, his eyes on the latter. "Nice to meet you," ~~~ Maya closed her eyes, her wings left to simply lay beside her, before she glanced again at Nylat, then glaring at the ceiling of her van. She wasn't really all that agitated, but she couldn't look at the hybrid without it hurting her. Great... It wasn't enough she had to suffer, now she was making the others do so. This conversation really wasn't helping... But that was Nylat for you... Blunt. With a sigh, she folded her good arm over her knees and hid her face, not bothering to wipe her eyes again. Well, it was kind of pointless... She didn't respond to Nylat. She couldn't... What could she say to that?... It only made her feel worse. Afterall, to Maya, this road would probably remain bumpy. At Nylats last statement, however, she glanced at the hybrid. "I know," She whispered, hugging Nylat as best as she could without hurting her wrist. She eventually leaned back against the wall, her eyes again on the butterflies in the van. At the sound of knocking, her eyes focused on the door, still unwilling to answer for anyone. Nylat was probably the only one who would enter if she refused to answer, so she felt sure she'd be undisturbed. The voice that spoke, however, was unrecognisable, and she became unwillingly curious. With a glance at Nylat, she ran a hand over her eyes, ignoring the fact it did little good, then slipped off the bed and walked to the door. Upon pushing it open, she paused, momentarily surprised by the males appearance. She didn't recognise him, and his ex pression was somewhat disturbing. Her eyes flickered to the candy butterfly, her mood nor ex pression not really changing at the sight, though she was surprised at the complexity of it under her despair. What the?... She didnt know this guy, and he shows up out of nowhere with this confection, the detail recognisable... She suddenly felt very nervous, and on top of everything so far, it was likely to push her over the edge. "Hello?" She murmered, her eyes back on Gem.

Nylat looked up at Maya, purring softly. But that was cut short at the knock, in which she switched to a defensive growl, almost glaring at the door. She was quite variable. Purring one second, growling the next. it all depended on the situation. As Maya got up to get the door, the hybrid debated on wrapping her forelegs around Maya's own legs and pleading for her to not answer it. She had a bad feeling. But sense controlled her--this time--and she didn't, she just waited, her growl growing deeper and deeper. Just as her friend opened the door, Nylat stood and lapt from the bed in one swift motion, her growl turning into a momentary silence as she sighted Gem, before it returned to defensive, with a slight hint of hiss in it. She didn't know the guy well, but he creeped her out, and with the very...familiar candy, it only creeped her out more. She moved beside Maya, at her full height--measured at the shoulders--with her ears laid back and her head lowered. She glared hardly at Gem, her eyes giving the appearance of stone. ((Pff. Nylat, stop scaring him!))

((He can feel heat, but it doesn't hurt. it just surprised him.)) Gem looked up from his paper when the door was opened, sweeping his eyes over Mayanna briefly before muttering to himself and writing quickly. The muttering was mostly too soft to hear, but every so often a word would escape, such as, "Monarch, I believe...golden..." Looking up after a minute or so, he seemed to notice the looks both Nylat and Mayanna were giving him. Pushing up his slipping glas.ses, Gemini coughed slightly, saying in that odd, monotone voice of his, "Hello, I am Gemini Marks. I have come to observe heartbreak in a female. In adavance apology, I've constructed this sugar sculpture." After the first few words, though, Gem's eyes moved from Mayanna to Nylat, tilting his head while writing faster than ever. "Cat, dog, fox, human..." Gem murmered, eyes back to his book. "May I come in?" He directed towards Mayanna, taking his checkered glas.ses off and picking a glob of cool sugar off of it. "I'm afraid the pests will get to the confectionary if I leave it much longer." Putting his gla.ses up on top of his head, he rummaged in his bag for a second, coming up with a few harp strings, another pen, a couple of pom-poms, before finding what he needed, a hat with rather ridiculous earflaps and a fuzzy pom-pom on the top. "Much better." Gem muttered, resuming his writing.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

((She's actually a queen butterfly, or that's the species I stole the wings from anyways. xD And. Gray. D:)) She watched him in silence, this Gemini Marks, her face impas.sive and her ex pression still despaired. Maya seemed to pay very little attention to what the guy was actually saying, though what he did say didn't go over her head. She heard, rather than saw, Nylat approach, and felt a slight reas.surance at the hybrids growls and hisses. She didn't feel quite so vulnerable knowing the hybrid was there, but her current state left very little patience and capability to handle anything else. The words "observe" and "heartbreak" quite literally pushed the butterfly winged being off that edge. Her eyes narrowed sharply, and in an uncharacteristic fit of absoloute anger, flared her wings to their full extent; A resounding crash echoing throughout the camp site as any number of things smashed in the wake of those blazing wings, many Circus members glancing around in alarm. "Observe"?.... He wanted to "observe"?!... She wasn't an experiment, one to be watched while she gave in to her own freaking despair. Who the hell did this guy think he was?! Every single painful emotion quite literally flooded the girls eyes, narrowed in anger and dull with anguish. That was it. She needed out. Right now, if only for a while. In one move, ignoring whatever had been smashed on the floor of her van, took one swift step out of the vehicle; Her wings menacing in the way she held them. She stormed past the glowing eyed male, fresh tears, both angry and torn, sliding from her eyes. It took all her self restraint to stop herself smashing that freaking confection there and then. She simply kept walking, away from the camp and the people in it, Julian turning just in time to see her leave at the sound of that resounding crash. Maya had finally had enough... The pain was enough, and the anger made things ten times worse. How dare he... Like she hadn't suffered already without people asking to intrude. It hurt, too much... Everything was just too much. She didn't pay all that much attention to where she headed, coming to stop a good distance away from the Circus, falling heavily against an old oak and sliding to sit at its base. She held her arms over her torso, a wail of nothing but utter anguish escaping her lips as she closed her eyes; The energy she had left simply dissapeared, her wings splayed on the damp earth either side of her. She'd stay out here tonight if she had to... Despite Raphaels preference to have them all in the grounds after dark. There was no way she was going back, not yet... Not for a while. Compared to how she felt emotionally at this moment, her wrist was literally nothing, despite the fact the anestesia had completely wore off by now.

((Oh noes, Grayvs >~<)) Exhausted, both mentally and physically by the days events, Kioko removed the crimson cloak from around her neck. Folding it into a makeshift pillow, she kicked off her mud stained sneakers and curled up on a small cot placed against the wall. As much as she had wanted to watch the Circus' opening performance, she could barely keep her eyes open at this point. Her head cushioned on the cloak, Kioko drifted off to sleep. ------------------------------------- "Ah, nice to meet you as well, Mister Julian," The mans collection of daggers made Selvai a bit uneasy, but he appeared to be rather friendly. Not everyone subscribed to his pacifist way of life, after all. Selvai intended to ask about more about the Circus, but a young woman with butterfly wings flaring from her back and tears in her eyes stormed out of one of the circus vans and marched past them angrily and away from the circus grounds, disappearing into the woods. "Oh, my," Selvai murmured in concern. "Is that young lady alright?" he asked Julian. "She seemed rather ill at ease. Perhaps someone should check on her..." [[misery loves company. my college + communication = "LOLOLOLOL WHAT COMMUNICATION :DD" grr. I'd have Spider go talk to Maya but... yeah. don't wanna move in on Nylat's territory. DD;]] Zinc clicked his tongue hollowly, at first irritated that Julian didn't find him as interesting as he should, and then because Raphael walked up and ughh he didn't wanna talk to his face. So instead he looked at Selvai. "Yo. Newbie. Nice to meet you. I'm Zinc. Yaaaay." He said this all with the enthusiasm of one who had just stubbed his toe. He was too busy staring intently at the hideous thing that Gemini was dragging toward Maya's van-- you know what, that's it. Sure. Pick on Spider. But pick on the nice girl that has already had a bad week... no. No. He turned abruptly to Raphael. "So, you've got a kinda... ixnay on iolencevay thing, am I right? Because, see, I kinda wanna strap that Gemini to a pole and light him on fire. I have a feeling you'd disagree with my methods. Perhaps, however, he could just... magically disappear in the woods. I could just set him up to take a walk with Yama... let things solve themselves." Hopefully they'd kill each other. Two birds. One stone. - - - It hadn't been that hard finding his suitcase, and Spider picked it up with relief. He stepped out of the food van, apologizing to any he might have bumped in to, and then started walking away. It was a bit too crowded near all the vans and tents... and he wasn't too excited to see the show. So he moved away from all of the tents and things and stood on a rock. It wasn't a very big rock but he felt the need to stand on it. After a moment, he sat down on the rock, because standing was kinda silly. He hummed thoughtfully, popping open his suitcase and examining the contents. There was a small, square piece of paper there that he hadn't noticed before. Curiously, he picked it up. In light, cursive handwriting was the little note "Dear Clyde". Spider didn't know who Clyde was, so he flipped the note over. A wax seal? Hm. Well. Normally he'd probably have read it, even if it hadn't been addressed to him. But he wasn't going to break the seal and let everyone know he had. Spider put it back in his suitcase, wondering who Clyde was and how the little letter had gotten into his suitcase. Xetem had been the one to fold all of his things... could she have dropped it? The urge to rip the letter open tore at him, but he resisted. Had anyone else been in his suitcase? He couldn't be sure. But it took his mind off how utterly terrible he felt, so he was glad for that.

Gem had followed a bit behind Mayanna, continuing to write, before giving a small shrug before the wail rang throught the campsite. "What a sound..." Gemini murmered, turning back and writing down more unknown things. "Seems quite fragile." He remarked to himself, snapping shut his book and slipping it back into his bag. Looking Nylat over, he shrugged and said, "Well then, I do believe she doesn't wish to be studied." Turning on his heel, Gem walked back to the main tent, muttering numbers and fabrics under his breath. Looking towards Wolfe's wagon, he saw the owner of it stepping down the steps, before grabbing him by the top of his hat and growling, "What...did...you...do?" Gem launched into his explanation, filled with many long words and scientific terms, which boiled down to, "She was interesting, so I went and asked if I could stare at her and write things down." Dravius growled again and dragged Gem back to his van quite literally, shoving him inside and slamming the door with a slight snarl. Walking over to the knot of people, he stood for a second and wheeled back to his van when a crackle of flame could be heard, and he shoved his head inside and yelled a few four letter words at Gem, before slamming the door and heading to the main tent, rubbing his forehead. At the sight of the sugar butterfly, he pushed it over and muttered, "Juvinile and unrealistic." Upon touching the ground, the confection shattered into tiny peices, skidding through the gras.s. Smilng sadistically, he entered the main tent, tapping a long sword against his palm, the flat of the the blade glinting in the dim lamplight.
