Tilting his head in confusion, Maccus examined the two, a huge wolf-thing, and a butterfly girl. He doubted they were psychos, but something about the butterfly girl confused him. Unlike the amusement radiating from the wolf-thing, this girl just radiated confusion and wariness. Stuffing both puppets back into his jacket pockets, Maccus raised an eyebrow. "I'm not a psychopath." He murmured quietly, somehow staying dry despite the rain. "In fact, if I was, I'd probably could've killed you by now... Unless Tinkerbell or Wolf-thing here is immune from insanity, or blades, or gruesome images brought to life by puppets." Raising his hands, he dug into his pockets and pulled out the two puppets again along with a new item; his switchblade.

Dravius tucked his pen back into his pocket as Raphael laughed, smiling along with him. "Does ten minutes in a tree count?" He shrugged, raising one eyebrow. "I never woulda guessed. Wonder where he was before now." He answered, his eyebrows slanting slightly downwards, before relaxing once again. "Yeah, it broke around dawn." He nodded a few times, tugging on the tip of his sleeve with sharp teeth. "I'll run a booth. I'm kind of running out of things to do. Almost out of paper and ink," Dravius remarked, taking the cloth from his lips. "Vi always was one to stay in late," He smirked slightly, twisting his spine back and forth quickly. The series of cracks that resulted was wince-worthy, and as Dravius unwound his back, he waved goodbye to Raphael, white sleeves fluttering in a breeze. As the first drop of rain twisted through the air and hit the cloth on his shoulder, Dravius grinned and looked upwards, smile growing as the rain picked up. Soon the drops were pounding down, slicking his hair to his forehead and neck. He turned and trotted towards where he had seen Maya travel, picking through his many pockets. Rounding a van, he could easily spot Maya's wings and Nylat's striped coat, but they both seemed to be peering at something....or someone sitting on the ground. Dravius approached slowly, brows furrowed and eyes narrowed. He saw a man wearing a full tuxedo, with a puppet over each hand. What? Dravius raised an eyebrow as the young man drew a switchblade, lengthening his strides to stand next to Maya, lip curled in the beginnings of a snarl. "What're you doing." It was more of a statement than a question, voice soft and low. All of his body languge screamed hostile, even in the pounding rain. His hip brushed against Maya's as he took another step forewards, body coiled. The water running in rivulets down his shirt made it semi-transparent, the red handprint standing out almost in a relief.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

Nylat hissed at the appearance of the blade, a growl deepening out of that. At Dravius's appearance, her only sign of acknowledgement was a slight flick of her tail. Despite the rain that was falling heavily on her pelt, her fur on her spine stood up, and her ears were flat. She was stiffer than a board, and yet, ready to dart away at any moment. With a barely-calm voice, flushed with anger, she spoke, not taking her eyes off the man. "Put up the blade, and no one will get hurt. Neither us...nor you." Her voice was full of menace as she said this, and after she was done, she swiped her tongue over her teeth, baring them for a moment to show their points, her two slightly longer fangs standing out. "And though I don't want to, I will fight. And it definantly takes more than a switchblade to take me down." After a moment, though, a thought struck her. He wasn't 'normal.' Well, not in the everyday human sense. He hadn't freaked out at her speaking. With a sudden change in demeanor, she straightened, ears pricked forward, and fur lying flat, her head tilted curiously. "Wait a minute...You aren't a regular human, are you? Most would have freaked out in some nature after hearing me talk, but..." Her eyes never left the blade and, despite her somewhat relaxed stance, she seemed even tenser, ready to spring. If indeed he was a 'freak' and he meant them ill....She tucked her injured paw closer. No use keeping it close to the ground. A useless paw was one more thing to stumble over.

Having gotten no response from Yama's van, Kioko had finally given up and hobbled back to retrieve her bag and Sid. Cramming the large, furry cloak into her backpack, she slung it over her shoulder before picking up her crutches. Looking around carefully to make sure nothing was left behind, the white haired girl smiled gently at Sid. "Ready to go back?" she asked. Pulling open the door, she let the little pup run out ahead of her before shutting it, and walking down the wet steps. After limping across the muddy circus grounds (again) and letting herself into Nylat's van, Kioko tossed the pack on the empty bad and retrieved her brush from it, untangling her hair before unpacking the rest of the items she had brought with her. The few clothes were placed into the small dresser, along with everything except for the candles, which she placed on top of the dresser. She tossed the brush in with her clothes, as the sound of rain pelting against the van began. "Looks like the weather's going to be nasty for awhile, hunh Sid?" She sat on the bed for a moment, wondering whether to brave the new bout of rain in order to make it to the food van. If it was just her, Kioko would have probably waited for the storm to subside before leaving the dry van. However, Sid pobably wouldn't appreciate the wait for his breakfast. Sighing, the pyro stood up and retrieved her cloak. She picked up the small dog, tucking him under the cloak to keep him from getting soaked. The pyro decided to leave the crutches propped by the bed. It would be easier to carry Sid without having to juggle between him and the two crutches. And even though her ankle was still sore, it was healed enough that she could walk on it for a short bit. Head bowed against the rain, she hurried to the food van, placing Sid on the floor once she was inside. She retrieved the dog food and water bowl from a circus member working working behind the food trays, sitting them close to the pup before getting her own plate of food. Kioko took a seat at the table, ignoring the renewed throbbing in her sprained ankle in favor of listening to the downpour outside. "You don't care if we stay here till the rain stops, do you Sid?" she asked the dog. "Cause I need to rest my ankle for a little while before we go back to the van." ------------------- "Yes. I overheard your name at the food van yesterday," Selvai explained to Violet. He raised an eyebrow slightly at the curious way she looked at him. A low roll of thunder from the storm outside caught his attention, and the magician grimaced unpleasently. Shuffling through his dresser, he pulled out a dry jacket, shoving his arms through the sleeves and zipping it closed. "Craaap." Disera whined from the floor, rolling over onto her back, all four legs stuck straight up in the air. "Selvaaai. Make it stop raining. I don't want to walk around in this." "I can only wish I could, Disera." The white haired man picked up the pillow the shifter had slept on, replacing it on the bed. Smiling, he knelt close to her, extending one hand. "Here." "Meh. Fine." Shifting into a gerbil, Disera climbed into his open palm, burrowing under his jacket sleeve and scurrying up his arm until she reached his shoulder, where the shifter settled. Standing carefully to keep from disturbing Disera, Selvai smiled at Violet. "Well, if you're ready, shall we make our way to the food van?" He pulled the hood up on his jacket and stepped outside, immediately pelted by cold raindrops. Without waiting to see if Violet was following, the magician headed in the direction of the food van, the muddy ground squishing under his boots as he hurried. Inside the food van, the striped haired magician gathered two plates of food for himself and Disera, and took a seat at the table opposite Kioko. The magician nodded a greeting to her, pushing his jacket hood back with his uninjured hand, before lowering his arm to the table. Sliding down his jacket sleeve and onto the table, the shifter scampered over to her own plate, which Selvai had placed in front of the seat next to his. "Mornin', firebug," she greeted the pyro, perching on the edge of the plate and nibbling one of the slices of melon Selvai had picked up for her.
"I WISH THAT PUNCTUATION HAD A PHYSICAL FORM SO I COULD SMOTHER YOU WITH IT."

Making his way swiftly across the grounds and towards Julian's van, Raphael pulled up the hood of his jacket with one hand, huffing a little at the weather. Figures. Well, at least most of the tent construction was done... Would probably save members from getting soaked later. With a shrug, he carried on walking, waving at members as he pas.sed and glancing at Kanec when he felt the shifter land softly on his shoulder."Keeping it free of pests?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "That would depend. I'm pretty sure you could discuss it with Karene." He smiled slightly, running a finger lightly over the birds head, before pausing outside a black van, covered in sharp, glinting silver tribal patterns. "She's usually the one to ask when it comes to keeping people out," He rapped lightly on the black vans door. When there was no answer, Raphael simply slid the blade through opening the door slightly, then closing it after him. "Well, Kanec. I need to go look around the grounds. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding Karene," ~~~ Karene, having got up early that morning, had splayed herself on her van roof, arms crossed behind her head and her eyes closed. She was simply feeling lazy, and as such, felt very much like just staying in that position all day. She probably would have too, had the rain not started. With a small, irritated huff of breath, the woman sat herself up and slid on the coat she'd taken up with her on a whim, being sure to pull up the hood. She caught sight of Will and Spider, raising a hand fleetingly in greeting before slipping off the van roof. Making her way arcross the somewhat soggy Circus grounds, the young woman headed straight towards the food van. May as well get some breakfast while getting dry, she didn't quite fancy staying out in this. Exhaling slowly, Karene stepped quickly into the van, lowering her hood with one hand and looking over her shoulder and out of the door. Pffff. Weather. Catching sight of a small flash of red, she pulled her focus away from the rain to look at Kioko, smiling slightly and waving a hand. "Good morning. Kioko, isn't it?... The girl who had the dog?" She asked, with a quiet laugh, before raising an eyebrow at gerbil Disera. "I hope your keeping out of trouble," She added, still smiling, before she headed towards where the food was situated, engaging in conversation with another of the members. ~~~ Maya had still been watching the strange young man with a little frown, catching Nylat's look and shrugging slightly, eyebrows furrowed. She shook her head at Nylats words. "I really... Don't know. We should probably let Raphael or Dravius know..." She bit her lip, then glared skyward when the rain started pelting. Figured. And she'd left her cloak in the van too. With a sigh, the young blonde pulled her wings close to her back in an attempt to try and keep them from getting too wet. The vivd red had darkened slightly due to the water, as had the girls hair, now looking more like molten gold than anything; The long strands rolling down her back in gentle waves. Using a hand to slightly move the now soaked hair that resided over her left eye, crossing her arms. Despite the wet weather, it wasn't actually cold, and not too uncomfortable. Well, sort of. The dress top she wore was beginning to stick to her skin. Ignoring that, she continued to watch the man before her, inhlaing when he revelaed his switchblade. Oh great. Another one of those. The girl took a small step back, ready to run for it if need be. For some bizarre reason, however, she didn't get the feeling he was going to use it. Still... Maya kept her arms firmly crossed, jumping slightly when Dravius spoke. She hadn't really noticed him arrive. Sighing in slight relief, she looked up at him, trying to deduce whether or not he'd been cured of his fever. He certainly seemed ok enough. Looking back at Maccus with concern, she watched Dravius step foreward, looking at Nylat as the hybrid spoke. She'd have thought it pretty obvious the guy wasn't normal, but chose not to say anything. Instead, she simply grasped a hold of the back of Dravius's soaking shirt. She didn't particularly like seeing him so wound up, and the events in town yesterday were more than enough trouble for him this week. Besides, despite pulling out a knife, there didn't seem to be an air of hostility radiating from Maccus, it was more... Well. He seemed to just be trying to prove a point. ((Uh-huhu. I can't think today. ;~; This post is awful. xD))

Chuckling slightly insanely, Maccus flicked open the blade and showed it to everyone, even the hostile newcomer. Then he peeled it apart, and turned it inside out. After doing this thrice, Maccus turned it back into it's proper shape, but it became clear that the switchblade wasn't the real thing; it was a puppet. Throwing it towards a tree, the felt blade of the knife scrunched up in the way loosely stuffed fabric does when thrown hard against a solid surface. Chuckling again, he pulled out another puppet, this time a clown. After making it walk cautiously towards the direction of all three newcomers, he nodded it's head and put it's little wooden arms up in the air. He was slow, cautious even, when he showed the three what he did to the blade. Maccus knew one false move would utterly destroy his chances of being- no staying- alive. Cautiously, he nodded at the wolf-thing's words. "I am... what you call, a freak. So thus yes, I am not normal. What I do is different. But in a sense, I am different. Not as different as Butterfly Girl or You, but I am different...." And as if response to the other one's hostility; the man, he turned his head. Tilting his head slowly, Maccus pulled on another hand puppet; this time, one of a simple Ringmaster's outfit. "Fear me not." He stated softly, voice suddenly mimicking that of Nylat's. "I mean no harm." (( ;~; My head hurts so much. ))

"Oh, yeah~" Violet said quickly, and dashed out of the van after Selvai and Disera. Jogging to the food van she couldn't help but grin in a melting sort of way at the succulent scents that drifted out of it. Grabbing her own small plate of food she padded over to the table almost hesitantly, before making up her mind about where to sit. "Sure beats KD and water for breakfast," she said with a smile as she sat in the other seat next to Selvai. Nibbling on a piece of pineapple the necromancer wondered who the other girl sitting across from Selvai was. The girl could have been familiar, but honestly, after being away from the circus for so long, Violet didn't want to sound like an idiot telling the other girl she thought she knew her. It would sound just a bit more than mildly creepy. [Again, I'm positive my posts don't make sense. ><]

Nylat tensed up a bit at his antics with the knife, but sighed and turned away when it was obvious it was a puppet. Really? She knew the guy was off his rocker, but to try and threaten possibly hostile people.... He was insane. She flicke dher tail and walked back behind Dravius, not as tense, but still just as wary. "Well, up to you, Mr. Co-Master. What's your opinion on what we do with him? He says he's different...give him a chance?" ~~ Kanec nodded and jumped from Raphael's shoulder, beating his wings to get airborne. It was rather difficult, considering he fact that the rain was beating him down, soaking his feathers with heavy water. In between wingbeats, he shifted into a seagull, who's feathers were better made for water. After a short rise, he spiraled around, looking around for Karene, to find her scurrying to the food van. He dove as she went inside, and pulled up, shifting into a human as he landed. He opened the door and walked in, shaking water from his wings. He walked over to Karene, and after a few quick words with one of the chefs, was soon eating a small steak. Between bites, he managed to get his question to Karene about possibly keeping his van from being a part of those overrun when the 'normal' people started swarming in.

Freezing up at Nylat's words, Maccus stuttered out, "T-th-the Co-Master? What is this? A zoo? I'm not some specimen you find at a lab! What is this?" Taking a cautious step backwards, Maccus promptly tripped over a root and fell backwards, hitting his head with a loud THUNK. "Not.. specimen..." He groaned, and thankfully pa.ssed out. It was snowing. Maccus groaned and awoke to a wintery wonderland. He didn't feel the cold, nor did he feel the biting wind. A swirl of snowflakes brought an image of his sister. Still clad in her wedding dress, she took a step towards Maccus. "Laura!" He screamed, running towards her, but it was too late. She fell backwards- like she had done 2 years before- and screamed. "No! Laura!" He screamed, knowing it was fruitless. Like a ghost, the wind swirled once more, and Laura disappeared.

Dravius's look of hostility changed to one of wariness, then to simple confusion. "W-what?" He muttered under his breath, scrunching his eyebrows together as he watched Maccus mess about with puppets. "How...many puppets can someone hide at one time?" He asked Maccus, cocking his head to the side. He seemed more intruiged with the man than concerned at this point, and brought his head back to it's original position. Dravius twisted to look behind him when Maya grabbed hold of his shirt, and muttered something incomprehensible to himself, before coming up with one of those collapsible umbreallas you're supposed to be able to fit in your pocket but no body actually carries it like that, and held it out to Maya. "Little belated, but better late then never, huh?" He snapped open the umbrella, which happened to be black with little pink hearts all over it. "Well, he seems harmeless enough....although the constant puppets are kind of....odd," Dravius shrugged, shaking his head vigourously, momentairily ridding his hair of some water, although at this point, the rain was coming down hard and fast, sticking in Dravius' eyelashes and dripping off the ropes it had made of his black-and white hair. It had lengthened his hair by a bit, slicking it against his face and neck. "Ang I'm unsure about slogging around in a storm wearing a tuxedo, but..." He shrugged again, wringing out the free cloth at the ends of his sleeves, and then brushing his sodden hair out of his face. Dravius grinned hugely as a flash lit up the sky, followed by a huge crack of thunder. "What a great storm," He remarked, looking at the snaking forks of intermittent lightening spiralling across the sky, then jumped at Maccus' reaction, raising one eyebrow at the now-unconscious male. "W-what?" He lightly picked up Maccus, setting him against the tree and saying slowly, "I think we should get him inside. Wonder why he freaked out?" He shrugged one shoulder, throwing Maccus easily over his shoulder and setting off towards his van.

Well. That was unexpected. The knife hadn't been real, and Maya was pretty certain she probably should have known it wasn't the real thing, but heck, she'd been too interested in the guy himself to really note his fake weaponry. She had been looking somewhat confusedly at the puppet now on the floor, only looking up at Maccus when he spoke. So he was different. That much could be as.sumed. And he meant no harm?... Alright. Maya tilted her head slightly, glancing sidelong at Nylat before turning to watch Dravius. When the Co-Master acknowledged her presence, she looked slightly taken aback when he gave her the umbrella, blinking at it and kinda just looking at it. "Uh-hu. I guess," She responded with a slightly amused smile,a thick strand of hair falling across the girls face. "I'm a little too soaked for this to do much though," She added quietly, waving the umbrella slightly and looking back up at Maccus. She had time to roll her eyes at Dravius's storm remark, then watched Maccus as he seemingly fainted. Lowering the umbrella, she stepped forward a little, a small splash signalling her movement. "Is he alright?" She asked quietly, her face slightly concerned. Sure, the guy had just brandished a fake knife at them, and was more than just a little weird but... No-one deserved to be left out in this when they were like that. Blinking, she watched in silence as Dravius picked up the strange being, then headed off towards his van. She was torn for a moment as whether to follow him or not. Heck. She hadn't even had the chance ask Dravius if he was feeling better. Eventually, the girl simply shook her head, then trotted after Dravius, matching her pace to his once she caught up with him. "Do you think he'll be okay?... It's not serious is it?" She asked, looking at the form over dravius shoulders, sneezing once and wiping water from her face. The umbrella hadn't once been placed over her head. Well, there was little point, considering how wet she already was.

Nylat, with a flick of her tail, bounded after Dravius and Maya. As she caught up, she walked along on the other side of Maya, matching their pace. "I heard him say something about a zoo, but that was it. What anything I said has to do with a zoo, I'm not sure." She flicked her ears back, only to flick them forward again. At a thought, she shook, fluffing her fur out. "I'd offer to let him stay in my van so I could keep an eye on him, but I'm not sure how well Kioko would like that. There's also the matter of my window...." ((I believe Ny has no idea that Juilian replaced her window. At least, as far as I remember she doesn't. AND THIS POST IS FAIL))

Dravius stopped under an over hang on his van, dripping heavily on the wood of his steps. He slid down the set of long nails poking out from the sides of the dwelling, slipping inside and pausing to light several candles around the room. "He didn't break the skin anywhere, so he should be fine." He answered Maya, gently setting down the pas.sed-out figure on his rather unkempt bed. "As soon as he comes around, I'll check to see if he's got a concussion, r' something." Dravius lifted one of Maccus' eyelids and judged it's reaction to the dim light. Crossing to his thin closet, he pulled out four fluffly red towels, scrubbing his hair vigorously, until the towel was soaked, instead of his hair. He tossed a towel over Maccus, although he seemed quite dry, and handed one to Maya. "Come in an' dry off, May." His hair was, although dry, sticking up in every which direction in stiff spikes. At her sneeze, Dravius raised an eyebrow and decided to just tug her gently in through the door, taking the other towel and rubbing her hair dry from the tips up, twisting it up into some sort of bun-like contraption. "There we go," He murmered, settling the towel around Maya's shoulders. What he had done to her long, still damp golden hair kept it off of her neck, although he had missed bits near her ears. Turning, Dravius took up residence at the wooden chair near the table full of candles and streaked with wax. He sat on his knees, feet tucked under him. Rummaging around without getting up, he unfolded a dry shirt, with the same long sleeves, but black-and-white striped, and tugged it on, along with some thick socks. The rain could be heard thudding hard against the roof, booms of thunder echoing throughout the camp. Dravius closed his eyes momentarily, sighing quietly.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."
