"No, it's fine. It's just a bunk of stuff." Dravius poked a foot out to push around some papers, other knee holding his chin on top of it. He sighed quietly, grinning at Maya's reddened face. "It was really quite nice..." He remarked, eyes half-closed. "And it really is, if you compare it to anyone else's," He grinned again, this time sheepishly, and stretched his back, arching it until the top of his head brushed the wall behind him. "Yeah, I am tired. Ten minutes in a tree doesn't count as much sleep, and I'm still kind of sick," Dravius answered, setting his heel against the side of his bed, toes still flat on the floor. He grinned as Maya chucked a towel at him, rubbing his head quickly, before tossing the cloth back to her. Dravius cocked his head to the side as Maya began speaking, yawning halfway through her question, but otherwise paying rapt attention. "You don't have to seem so nervous, May. Fine with me, and I'm sure Raphael won't ob ject. Calm down." He tugged gently on a strand of Maya's long, golden hair, pinning it up again, this time with the help of many bobby pins. He smiled vaguely as she burrowed under his arm, rubbing his own cheek gently on her pinned-up hair. "I'm gonna fall asleep..." Dravius muttered, rendering the statement almost true as he closed his eyes and yawning heavily, teetering on the edge of snoozing while leaning against the wall. Suddenly he poened his good eye and grinned a sharpish smile, pressing his forehead agianst Maya's, then he said quietly- "We should go outside once it stops raining." He kissed Maya genlty on the lips, before resuming his previous position.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

When Maccus responded to Raphael using the Ring-Masters voice, the tall blonde raised an eyebrow and pulled his gaze away from the wall he had been looking at. It was uncanny just how well Maccus could imitate... First Maya's voice, and now his, and the Ring-Master stood with an amused ex pression on his face.
"Different like you, different," He responded, keeping his eyes on the stranger. "No doubt you've noticed a few of our members at least," He watched in silence then as Maccus pulled out a switch blade, not so much as flinching. The illusionists eyes were genuinely curious, he hadn't yet seen anyone with this sort of ability. And he had seen a lot of abilities. Of course, he was even more interested in the fact that Maccus could seemingly change his puppets at will, as the blade became an exact replica of Nylat. He was pretty sure the voices could change like that too, going by what he'd heard so far.
He listened to Maccus' next words as he watched the puppet, only turning his eyes on the puppeteer at the word "illusionist". "Puppet Master?... Quite a fitting ti tle for someone who can accomplish what you seemingly can," Raphael laughed, then shook his head. "Illusions I can understand, although I doubt could control puppets quite as well as you, or mimick voices with such accuracy." He paused for a moment, one finger on his chin. "I told you earlier we're exactly like you. And we are. My own ability is the manipulation of people's senses. I'm the Illusionist of the Circus, if you will." He waved a hand, then laughed again.
When Nylat flopped into a corner, Raphael threw her a thankful smile, then turned his attention back to Maccus. "Alright, Maccus. I've told you what you wanted to know. This place is a home, for people like us. We allow people to leave whenever they wish, should they choose to find their lives elsewhere. And those who live here are all a part of the community that keeps this place running." He raised an eyebrow. "... Is that all you wanted to know?"
~~~
"Ten minutes in a tree?" Maya asked, lifting her chin from Dravius' shoulder and blinking at him. "Oh..." She remembered seeing him earlier that day climbing the tree. So that's what he was doing. Smiling slightly, the blonde prodded the Co-Master in the side, before leaning against him again and pulling on the sleeves that were just too long for her. "You should probably try to get some decent sleep at some point... Your always tired." She pouted, still tugging on an over-long sleeve. "Can't be good for you."
"And I'm glad you think that way," She added, letting go of the sleeve and looking up at Dravius with wide eyes. "I already told you... Raphael knows, I just... Never had a chance to sort it out. Music and stuff... It all needs sorting," She sighed quietly, rubbing a sleeve over her face. Her head had started hurting.
"I don't think I'll be able to do anything this week anyway-" She paused, sniffling at Dravius when he mentioned falling asleep. "See?... You need a sleeping schedule or something," She pointed out, smiling at him. Her ex pression became somewhat confused when Dravius seemed to pull himself away from sleep, placing his forehead lightly against hers and mentioning the weather. She was still a little un-used to Dravius being at such a close proximity, though she had absoloutely no objections whatsoever to it, and she flushed slightly as she smiled at him in response. The kiss only served to make her blush more, and she resorted to smushing her face into the tall males chest as she pretty much just clung to him. "Alright," She murmered in response to Dravius' last statement, shifting her head so that she could breathe again, listening to the Co-Masters beating heart through the material of his shirt.
She spent a few moments simply listening, and looking at the wall in front of her, reading through a number of the lyrics that the male had scrawled on the wall. With a small, content little smile, she glanced quickly up at Dravius, then returned her gaze to the writings, her head still laid lightly on his chest. After a moment of thought, she spoke in a quiet voice, saying the one she had not yet voiced to Dravius herself.
"Dravius?..." She murmered, lifting her hand to brush his jawline lightly, his heartbeat still evident from where her head was situated, though she had shifted slightly to look up at him. "... I love you."
"I twisted it the other day, when we were at the beach," Kioko explained to the other girl when she caught sight of her ankle. "I got upset and ran into the woods, and ending up tripping when I didn't watch where I was going. But it's getting better." She smiled warmly at Violet. "Two years? And you just came back recently, right? You must have alot of catching up to do with your friends from before, then. And, yeah, I am a new member. I kinda stumbled into the Circus a few weeks ago. Although it feels like I've been here for months, to be honest." She looked over at Karene, surprised that she hadn't noticed the woman returning. Well, she had been preoccupied talking to Violet. "Um, I like it, Miss Karene. People have been really kind to me, especially Maya and Dravius." The pyro lowered her eyes, fiddling with the hem of her cloak. "And. No one is afraid that I'll burn them or anything. It's... nice here." ----------- The magician returned Karene's slight smile. "Still. You were under no obligation to protect her. No one would have faulted you for staying out of a fight that you had no stake in." He tilted his head in acknowledgement when she mentioned not needing to be repaid, but spoke anyway. "I know myself Cersis can be... a bit vicious, in both words and actions, when he is angered to the point of fighting. I can't imagine that he was too polite when the two of you dealt with him. My offer is still valid, if you ever wish to take advantage of it." "Wait. Kanec has a kid with him?" Disera interrupted. "Who is it? I didn't think Kanec had a child," The shifter dropped her hands to her lap, twisting the fabric of her dress nervously when she spoke to Karene. "Are you alright, Disera?" Selvai watched her closely from his seat, glancing down at her hands with a curious look on his face. "I'm fine. Just didn't think Kanec would have a kid, that's all." "She didn't actually say it was his child, you know." The magician was now looking at the shifter with amusement. The corner of his mouth twitched upward, as though he were trying not to grin. "The only thing Karene said was that Kanec had a child with him. You as.sumed he was the child's father." "Um." By the way Disera's face darkened suddenly, going from it's normal blue to a shade of indigo, Selvai could guess the shifter was blushing violently. "Be quiet, magician," she declared suddenly, poking him in the nose with one nail.
"I hope your ankle gets better," Violet said with a kind smile. Leaning back in her chair she nodded. "Yeah, I know the feeling of belonging. I was there for six months, a bigger stretch than you, and I swear, getting back into the real world was hard. It feels nice to be back somewhere familiar and homely...uh, well, as homely as the camp can get, considering it moves all the time." Picking at the nails on one hand Violet frowned. "I never knew Dravius's nice side. But then again, I didn't really talk to him. He would've creeped me out but, you know, I'm kind of used to odd things, being a necro and all." Sticking out her tongue as she tried to scrape the last bit of pale nailpolish off her thumb Violet glanced up when Kioko mentioned burning. "Pyrokinetic?" she asked curiously, having never met an elemental user before. "I'd say it sounds like fun, but it's obviously a hellish power to deal with."
"Pff. Yeah," Dravius grinned sheepishly, watching Maya tug on the long sleeves of his sweatshirt. "I just...sleeping gets boring." He shrugged, wrapping a hank of Maya's hair around his index finger, looking at the golden strands glint in the dim, flickering light. "We've got plenty of people who can play instruments, and I wouldn't mind at all playing. As long as I knew the songs beforehand, or had sometime to work them out." Dravius nodded, noticing her pained ex pression, and rooted around in his pockets, pulling out a flat, silver box, and placed in Maya's lap. "Take two if your head hurts," He said quietly, sighing as she pressed her face into him. Dravius looked rather stunned at Maya's proclimation, one eye going wide for a split second, then he grinned widely and kissed her hard, saying, "I love you too." He hugged her, simply breathing in the wonderful maple-paper smell that surrounded her, mixed with his own mint and gra.ss scent from the clothing she was wearing. Just having her in here seemed to brighten the room any more than sunlight or electricity could. Dravius drew back slightly, putting the devil-horn hood over Maya's head and grinning slightly. "You're wearing the wrong sweatshirt." He laughed slightly, pressing the side of his torso to hers. He could feel her body heat, and he was acutely aware that his skin probably felt similar to touching a snake, or something like that. He sighed, settling his chin on Maya's shoulder.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."
((You can all post again nao. I'll time-skip once you do, in my next post. :3))
Listening in silence to Kioko's response to her question, Karene's lips twitched slightly. "Theres' no need to refer to me as miss," She laughed, smiling warmly at the pyro. "And that wouldn't surprise me. Maya's a naturally caring sort of person, and Dravius... Well. He might look scary, but he's just as soft as the rest of them. I'm happy to hear your liking it here though, despite what I've heard."
At that moment, the young woman looked over her shoulder, and waved over a member working behind the counter, requesting cups of hot chocolate. When the member returned, Karene took the tray of steaming beverages from her, smiling in thanks before turning back to Kioko and placing the tray on the table, taking a cup as she leant back against the counter. "It probably wasn't one of the best introductions ot the Circus," She added, staring into her cup before taking a sip, shuddering as the hot liquid burnt her throat slightly. It was actually rather pleasant, considering the terrible weather outside. The thunder hadn't ceased in the slightest, and the rain could still be heard pounding on the van roof.
At the girls last words, Karene actually laughed. "I think your okay with that. Most people here have probably had more to fear then being set on fire during their lives, and many of them are more than capable of protecting themselves."
Still smiling slightly, Karene turned her gaze back on Selvai when he spoke, shrugging. "It would have been heartless of me to leave her. Besides, no offence to your brother, but his attitude was grating on me." She paused as he continued, then snorted quietly, waving a hand in dismissal. No offence?... That wasn't right. That moron didn't deserve such words. Still, she didn't want to upset Selvai. She was unsure of how he felt about his brother.He was probably in a somewhat difficulat situation, being family and all. When Disera spoke, Karene looked at her, about to answer her question when she, seemingly like Selvai, noticed the shifters sudden nervous bout. Raising an eyebrow, the caramel-haired woman decided to keep quite for a moment, watching the interaction between the Shifter and her Summoner.
She decided to occupy herself with her cup again in order to avoid laughing. She watched Disera, an amused smile on her face. "Oh deary me. You certainly don't seem comfortable with that idea... Whatever's the matter?" Smiling from behind her cup, the young woman eventually cracked out laughing. "Pff. Your a terrible liar. And really. You shouldn't get so worked up. The kid is his younger brother as far as I know, besides..." She paused, then raised an eyebrow, one corner of her lip twitching. "Kanec's still very much single."
~~~
Well, that wasn't nearly as hard as she thought it would be. She'd as.sumed for some strange reason it would require a lot of effort, considering the time-scale between Dravius saying it and her coming out with it. Still, Maya was actually rather proud of herself for telling him. As far as she knew, she hadn't said it before, despite him already knowing.
Admittedly, she was a little concerned at the Co-Masters initial reaction, what the the obvious surprise. She'd almost thought she'd completely blown it by that point. Said something she probably should have kept to herself. The blonde haired teen didn't really have much time to worry or react though, Dravius had pretty much moved on before she got that far.
That second kiss took Maya completely by surprise, though it wasn't so much the act as the sudden change in tempo. It felt, to her, entirely different from such previous contact with Dravius. It was just a tad more intense, deeper, though she had absoloutely no problem returning said kiss. The sudden jolt of butterflies in her stomach had the young woman suddenly feeling very warm and just a little lightheaded, and when the Co-Master pulled away, she felt rather dazed and simply looked at him in a dumbfounded, wide-eyed sort of way. She was feeling just a little slow all of a sudden. Her oncoming illness was not helping her either... At all. Despite being off in her own little world, feeling ridiculously happy by this point, she managed a very bright smile at the tall males verbal response; Sliding her arms around his waist when he hugged her. She was pretty certain here that she could probably stay there all week.
With her head pressed lightly against the front of the Co-Masters shoulder, she "hm'd?" at him when he shifted slightly, blinking when he pulled up the hood of the sweater she wore. Being a little behind in her head, it took her a second to realise what Dravius meant by "wrong sweater,", and promptly snuffled a laugh into his shoulder as he shifted closer to her again. Sighing quietly, Maya reset herself against him, arms still around his middle, waiting until she felt a little more... Stable and up to date... To speak.
With another little sneeze, she sighed, then started picking at the material of his shirt again with one hand. "I wouldn't mind... You doing the music. Your very good at that sort of thing... The instruments..." She paused, then glanced up at him. "But is it okay when you have your own performances to do?"
Smiling slightly, Maya winced when the general rush faded slightly to reveal her still aching head, and started fumbling around for the flat metal case Dravius had handed her earlier. Finding it, she quickly took two of the pills, then placed the case to one side and started snuggling into the Co-Master's torso again, yawning once and looking back up at him with that never-ending smile. Well, it certainly felt that way, despite being physically impossible. She could certainly give it a try though.

Nylat, after a moment, grew bored, and slipped out of the van, wincing as the rain pelted her. She'd just gotten warm again, too. She debated on going back to Dravius's van but decided against it--the food van was closer. She wove her way through the vans, and hopped up the steps to get inside. When she got inside, she flicked her tail, trying to find a good conversation to butt into, and decided upon bothering Selvai, Disera, and Karene. She made her way over slowly, frustrated that she couldn't just bound over, but that would result in her falling flat on her face. As she leapt up into a chair, she sat down, glancing at the other three. "So, what're we talking about?"

Dravius titled his head at Maya's wide-eyes, the corners of his mouth turning up. "Are you alright?" He teased, rubbing his forehead into Maya's blonde hair. Her arms around his waist were a comforting weight, resting on the thin bones of his hips. He grinned wildely when Maya pressed her face into his shoulder to laugh, plaiting a short section of Maya's hair that had broken free of the pins and tucking it behind her ear. "It'll be fine. My act doesn't actually take that much effort, it's just the cleaning up afterwards," Dravius nodded, flashing a sharp grin. The temperature in his van was slowly rising from the many lit candles, and it was almost the same temperature as the outside world. The shutters on the window blocked out all light, so the pas.sing of time was difficult to teel inside the dwelling, especially when all was mostly quiet outside. Dravius twitched his head to the side at the sight of Maya's huge smile, returning with one of his own. She really was beautiful. He sighed and pressed his face against hers, staying motionless, until it seemed he was dozing sitting up, breathing even and eyes closed gently. In fact, he was sleeping, pressing his weight half agianst Maya and the other against the wall. It was odd, the way he could stay awake for days, then fall asleep at the drop of a hat. His body just eventually shut down, demanding rest, or sustenence.

"Thanks," Kioko returned the necormancer's smile. "It already is, though. I was able to make it here without using my crutches. But it's starting hurting again, so I don't know if that was such a good idea." She placed her arm on the table, leaning sideways against it. "I don't really know about "homely". I've only really had two or three places that you could call "homes", and after my parents left me, I didn't really have anywhere to go. I'm used to sleeping in parks and empty buildings when I can find one." The pyro frowned, glancing down at her bandaged ankle. "Dravius does look kind of scary. I was afraid of him when we first met, but he's not really as bad as he looks." She watched the other girl picking at her nails. "And he took care of my ankle when I sprained it. He's nice." Kioko blinked as the girl suddenly looked back up at her. "It's hard to control, sometimes. Especially if I get upset." She looked back down, picking at a loose thread on the hem of her cloak. "It's been kind of a problem in the past. Before I came to the Majikus, I mean." Looking back up when Karene spoke, Kioko tried to return her smile. "I'm sorry... It just feels weird to call you just Karene. I'll try to get used to it." She took one of the cups of cocoa, drinking it without bothering to try to cool it first. Well, it wasn't as though it could burn her throat or mouth. "Things were rough at first," she continued. "They still are, sometimes. But, I'm okay. This isn't the worst thing I've ever been through." ----------- "Nothing. Nothing's the matter at all." The shifter dropped her hand away from Selvai's face, pulling one of the cups toward her and curling her feathered wings around her slightly. "Hmmf. Worked up. Like that wanna be elf could get me worked up. I was just surprised a little kid didn't go running away crying when they saw that ugly face of his." Selvai smiled in amusement, shooting a conspiratorial wink at Karene while Disera was busy glaring at the unfortunate cup of hot chocolate. He took a sip of cocoa before responding. "You did seem rather flustered after your contest with him. And when he reminded you of it later." He smothered his laughter behind his hand when Karene spoke. "Why would I care if Kanec is single or not?" The shifter grumbled a bit too loudly, pouting at the mug in her hands. "It doesn't matter to me. At all." Glancing up at Karene, she huffed, sticking out her tongue at the dark blonde woman. "Seriously. He could be going out with- with Raphael, and I wouldn't care," she protested vehemently.

(( :U I'm alive. Just in time for the grand skip. )) Shrugging, Maccus grinned lopsidedly. "Sure, you've answered all my spoken questions but I've got a hundred thousand questions for every answer you give me. But humor me one last time. You call this a Circus... What exactly do you do to earn enough cash to feed, clothe, shelter, or even just care for the.. the.. residents of this here place? I'd call it a town, but that wouldn't make enough sense. Is this place like a gypsy camp, where the foolish wanderers come and become amused for a short time while everyone steals what they can from the hapless traveler's pockets, or more like a legit circus, where one can buy popcorn and sit down to watch a show?" Catching the word "senses," Maccus looked surprised. "You manipulate other people's senses? How do you do that? Is it more of a physical manipulation, where you use your power to control the brain and it's nerve functioning doohickeys, or is it more like a hypnotist's power, where the power of suggestion and belief plays a part in the 'spell'? And you say you're the Illusionist of the Circus? So does that mean your powers are not limited to other people's feelings, can you say, make others believe there is a purple giraffe about 6 feet in height and 22 feet in width charging at the with the strength of a rhino and the speed of a cheetah?" (( :P Purple giraffe. Purple midgety giraffe. Purple midgety obese giraffe. Purple midgety, obese, steroid taking giraffe. ))

"I'm... Alright," Maya responded to Dravius' question with a warm smile, tightening her arms a little around his waist when he buried his face in her hair. The idea of having the Co-Master perform alongside her was a pleasant, albeit unexpected one, and she listened to his words with a quiet sigh. "That's good then," She continued quietly. "If you're sure." She nuzzled her face lightly against Dravius' shoulder, before she settled to staring at the wall in front of her, only pulling her attention back to smile at him again. Smiling had suddenly become very, very easy, she silently noted. Listening pas.sively to the constant thudding of the still heavy rain on the van roof, Maya shifted so that she could pull the sleeves of the sweater she wore a little further up her arms, before settling back against the white haired male, sliding her arms around him again. The young blonde looked momentarily surprised as Dravius placed his face very close to hers, before shortly dropping off into a seemingly deep sleep. It was unusual to see him sleep like that... And it was usually very easy to tell with Dravius whether or not he was bound to be out for a few minutes or a few hours. Smiling, Maya settle her head lightly against the Co-Masters jawline, watching one of the nearby flickering candles before closing her own eyes and shifting slightly so that her weight countered that of Dravius. With a quiet and content little sigh, Maya dozed a little while, her breathing just as even as the Co-Masters as she leant against his form. She had never, ever, felt as happy during her life as she did at that moment, so she believed, and the young blonde slowly slipped into a sleep of her own; A very small, but obvious, smile on her face. ~~~
Raising an eyebrow at Disera's obvious irritation, despite the protests that she wasn't, in any way, bothered, Karene hid another somewhat amused grin behind her cup. Of course she was bothered, the mere way the Shifter stated otherwise proved that. With a quiet laugh, the caramel-haired young woman took another sip of the hot beverege she held in her hands, before glancing at Kioko. "Yeah... That sounds like our Mr.Wolfe. He's not one to leave people if they're hurt, no surprise really, I guess. He's only felt pain once before I believe, and that most likely left an impression he can't quite shake," She shrugged, then placed the cup quietly onto the food counter. "Or maybe he's just a very nice guy. And I can help you back to your van if your ankle hurts. If Dravius told you to stay off it, it might have been a good idea to follow his advice." Karene smiled, letting Kioko know with a look that she wasn't holding it against her at all. As much as many people tried to follow the Co-Masters medical advice, sometimes they did forget, it happened. Glancing quickly at the van cieling, the dark blonde deduced that the weather was still turbulent, going by what she could hear, and sighed quietly as she turned her gaze back to Disera and Selvai. A smile pulled at her lips as she listened, looking just a little too thoughtful when she caught the Magicians wink. "Oh, what's this?" She asked, raising her eyebrows at Selvai's next words, before turning her green gaze on the Shifter. "Competition?" She murmered in question, her face amused as she listened to Disera's following outburst. The poor woman was digging herself into a hole here. Karene responded to the Shifter's stuck out tongue with a quiet laugh, waving a hand in dismissal. "Oh. Of course not, that wouldn't bother you at all." Lifting herself away from the counter, Karene glanced fleetingly out of the food van window, then sighed. Well, no point heading to her van. She may as well remain here and continue to banter with Disera about her painfully obvious attraction to the Circus's other Shifter. It's not like there was much else to do today, anyway, besides, who knew how long this weather was going to last? (('Kay. Time-skip tiem. 8D))
It was only a couple of short days later that the Circus prepared itself to move again. Turns out the authorities of that particular town were really not all that accomodating to a Circus of freak performers. Usually, with any other town, those who really did not like the Circus' presence merely stayed away from the place, and it was rare enough anyway to have people who really felt that strongly with them being there. In a town this small, however, word tended to spread, and naturally, the authorities would always take action should enough of the population feel uncomfortable in the presence of the Circus and it's inhabitants.
Raphael, being who he was, simply took it in his stride, and within a day, the Circus was packed up and ready to go. The drive to the next town was a good few hours, and they reached their new destination around mid-day; Settling on a large, open field just outside the towns boundary. This town, unlike the last, was quite a large one, so it was likely that the Circus could reside here without having to worry too much about the complaining residents.
The field itself in which the Circus had stopped was completely open and very, very large, with a few, sparse trees and open gras.s that surrounded the camp on all sides; Other fields resided beyond that one, seperated by low stone walls and broken wooden fences. It was a very pleasant sort of place, the town laying in front of them, and more open fields behind. There was even a small woodland, quite some distance away, only barely visible as a little, deep green smudge on the horizon.
Raphael, as soon as they had stopped, ordered for the performance tent to be erected, leaving the Sword-Master to his usual task of displaying and distributing the flyers in town. The actual construction of the tent took very little time, and the Ring-Master left the completed structure with a smile.
"Looks like we're going to have some decent weather for a change," Karene, having just emerged from her own van, approached Raphael with a wave, and a small yawn. "Nnn... I think I've had enough rain to last me a long while." She continued, glancing skyward and watching a lone cloud make it's slow, sluggish way across the vast expanse of warm blue. It was probably a good thing they'd been forced to move on from that previous location... The caramel-haired woman had been getting rather bored of the constant rain, though admittedly, it had started to lift a little as the Circus began it's journey onwards.
"Ah, yes, understandable," Raphael laughed, sliding his hands into the pockets of the black pants he donned. "I think I also prefer it out here. It's been a while since I've seen an audience quite so unenthuastic about one of our performances."
"Yeah well... You know how some people are. They just can't stand the thought that people exist in this world who are nothing like them. And then there's the whole "slave" thing. I honestly think if you or Dravius forced anyone to work for you, you wouldn't just have the "normies" to deal with. It should be pretty obvious that no-one stays here against their will." Karene huffed a little, blowing a strand of dark blonde out of her face.
The Ring-Master chuckled, then shrugged. "It's bound to happen. You can't stop people on the outside thinking what they do." He sighed quietly through his nose, then looked over his shoulder at the erected tent, before he turned his gaze back to Karene when she spoke again.
"Well. I'd better go get this spell casting done. I'll be back in a few." Waving a hand, the blonde turned on her heel and headed off towards the Circus bounderies, leaving the Ring-Master to head back towards the vans just as Maya approached, wearing her usual white dress and walking barefoot, holding a bowl of mixed berries in her hands.
"I see you got your appetite back," Raphael laughed, waving pas.sively at another of the Circus members who had taken part in the main tents construction. "Your feeling better I take it?" He glanced over his shoulder at the girl, an eyebrow raised slightly. The young blonde nodded, then lowered herself slowly onto the gras.s and started picking out a number of berries and eating them. "A bit." She replied after swallowing, throwing him a smile before returning her undivided attention to the bowl in front of her. The illness she'd come down with had lasted both days of the Circus being stuck in the last town, and the teen had spent most of her time in bed, her face smushed into her pillow, responding to any visitors with unintelligable mumbles. The medication Dravius had provided earlier had probably held off the worst of it. This was the first morning she'd left her van since falling ill however, and she certainly did look a little better for it.
"That's good." Raphael watched her for a moment, smiling at the girls uneeded concentration on the bowl full of berries, before jerking his head in the direction of the town. "Will you be wanting to go take a look around now that your up and about?" He asked, scratching a temple.
Maya paused, looking up at him with a cherry in her hand, before following his gesture and looking at the town. "Maybe. If I feel I can get enough energy together to walk that far." She smiled at him again, then went back to the bowl, using an arm to move her mas.s of hair over her shoulder so that it was out of the way. Looking back at the fruit, the young womans face became slightly mopey as she finished the cherry and picked up a raspberry.
The tall blonde Illusionist shook his head with a quiet chuckle, then raised an eyebrow at the girls change in ex pression. "What's the matter?" He asked, an amused smile still tugging at his lips as he crossed his arms loosely over his chest; Crumpling the light gray material of his shirt slightly.
"I never got to go back for that crystal butterfly." Maya responded, putting the raspberry in her mouth and pushing around in the bowl for another. Raphael blinked, then laughed quietly. "Is that all?" Maya looked up at him for a moment as though he had completely missed the point, then stuck out her lower lip and went back to her lunch. Well, she'd been ill and it had been raining. She'd had very little chance to do anything really, least of all to head back into that last town to go buy a glas.s sculpture. Raphael, still laughing slightly, turned his gaze back over his shoulder towards the erected perfomance tent; Before turning his face skyward. He was pleased to note that this week was looking like it was going to be a pleasant one. Well, weather-wise, anyway.

Strangely enough, Maccus had moved with the Circus. He wasn't even part of it, yet this was the closest place he could think of as home. So he stayed and followed, a seemingly inconspicuous shadow, flitting from one member to the next. But he mainly followed Raphael. After all, he was the only guy that had treated him like a decent person on his own terms. Not like Maya, who probably only felt sorry for him, nor like Dravius, who's rough demeanor pissed Maccus off. No, Raphael was the safest to be near. You know what they say about birds of a feather... Maccus thought wryly, remembering Raphael's ti tle. However, Maccus was proficient enough in the art of staying unseen (or so he though) so he trailed behind Raphael, close enough to see every detail of his hair, but far back enough that he wouldn't be noticed as a lurker. Maccus watched as tents were set up, and he had helped in his own way; finding lost tools or fliers and placing them back where they belonged, placing extra rolls of tape near those who needed it, and much more. And all without getting caught, nor seen. Maccus didn't want their sympathy, not that they'd give him any anyways. But Maccus felt wrong about staying and watching the commotion without helping a bit.

Violet yawned and stretched as she stepped out of her van, her eyes half-closed with weariness. "Oof," she muttered, unused to the long transfer rides of the circus. Straighting out her rumpled clothing the girl struggled to look presentable, attempting to finger comb her long, thick black hair. "Drat," she muttered when her fingers got stuck in a tangle, amounting to much swearing and tugging before her hand was free. Giving up on her hair, which was luckily naturally straight so it more or less fell in ordered waves, Violet trotted over to the main area of the camp. Realising she didn't really have any duties yet (and Raphael had yet to as.sign any to her), Violet to it to her own to find something useful to do. Namely, bothering some other member to let her help. Looking up Violet smiled lightly at the sight of the tent, towering over her in the center of their camp. "I can't wait for the shows," she whispered to herself, crossing her arms and smiling again. Stretching her arms above her head she walked over to Maya and Raphael, the first of which who was eating her breakfast with a rather sullen ex pression on her face. "Any way I can help out?" Violet asked quietly, sidling up to the two in what she hoped was an unobtrusive way.

[[still tweaking bios but eh. new bios on page 2.]] Maccus wasn't the only one intently following someone. He thought he hadn't received any attention, but he had. Zephyr had been awake at four, helping set everything up, and was feeling oddly bubbly and mischievous today. Usually he'd go take a nap until he was needed for anything else (which wasn't often). But as he'd been conspicuously walking around he noticed Raphael. Oh, he'd seen him this morning. Nothing interesting about that. But then he'd noticed Raphael's shadow, and it was clear that he now had to follow the shadow around until either Raphael noticed he was being followed or the odd boy Zephyr didn't know noticed he was being followed. Zephyr was standing idly, trying to look as uninteresting as possible, as he watched Maccus, who was also standing idly and trying to look as uninteresting as possible (at least Zephyr a.ssumed that was what he was trying to do) as they watched Raphael and Maya. Oh look, and there was Violet. Zephyr didn't really know her either. He remembered her name and face but... hm. Was he here before she left? He couldn't remember. Despite Zephyr trying to be inconspicuous, that was a bit hard. He was after all, one of few Circus members that had horns jutting out of his head. In his case it was one horn, but it was still quite noticeable, even though the tip had been broken off. Having blue and pink hair, cloven feet and a tail only added to it. He was also one of few members that practically radiated sparkling happiness. There was something wrong with this stalker boy. Zephyr deduced the problem was a horrifying lack of hugs. Perhaps he'd have to remedy that. Sure was tall though. Why'd everyone have to be so darn tall? Zephyr pouted, momentarily. Then he shrugged and skipped out from his hiding spot. Which wasn't really a hiding spot at all. He didn't make any sound as he skittered up behind Maccus, and promptly threw his arms around him. "Hi." Zephyr said, and he squeeeezed tighter. Zephyr's hugs were a bit similar to being caught in a bear trap. But less painful. "You looked like you needed a hug." - - -
Three travelers were walking down the sidewalk in town. They received more than a few glances, but the one with the dark eyes made most people stop gawking. The one with the dark eyes was a man, absolutely average and yet somehow more interesting than anyone ever. At least, that's what he fancied telling himself. Walking beside him was a little girl, in a banana yellow sundress. She did not look happy. But then, she rarely did. She was carrying a small bag, and on her head was a large black bird. A raven, with gla.ssy black eyes and a croaky voice. It was currently eying the man as it pulled at the ribbon tying the girls hair back. "Why do they have to move around so much?" The man asked the empty air, and then grumbled to himself. DeeDee watched as he started to fish something out of his front pocket, and then went back to pulling at the ribbon. His young companion looked up, ignoring the little squawk from the bird as it flapped its wings and tried to steady itself. Her green eyes narrowed as she watched him pull out a small rectangular box. It wasn't an easily recognized brand, but it was unmistakable what they were. "You said you quit." The little girl said mildly, and averted her gaze to the ground. Florence looked down, hand hovering over the lid to those dreaded cancer sticks. "I did." He said, and rolled his eyes. "Pfft, for me? No no no, I got these out for you." He held out the box and shook his head. Anaconda stared at the box, and then promptly ripped it out of his hands. She tossed it in one of the trash bins as they walked by. It happened so fast that Florence didn't have time to react. After a moment he sighed, and then laughed, patting the little girls head (avoiding hitting the stupid bird). "Well played." He said. "Oh look, I can see the stupid tent from here. Were you one of those kids that wanted to join the circus?" He asked, glancing down. "I wanted to be a princess." Ana answered, and crossed her arms. As far as she was concerned she should still be treated as one, royal blood or not. It probably wasn't the best idea, to go parading to the circus with a man you didn't really know. I guess when you're all alone and you have nowhere else to go you get pretty stupid. Ana couldn't help but frown, and be angry at herself. It wasn't like she had nowhere to go. Her brother would have taken her in. But if she went there, he would have had no choice but to send her home again. So she ran away instead. She had been run away for exactly three hours. It was probably a good thing that she ran into Florence. Though, anyone who knew Florence would have said that would have been the worst thing. But he was a friend of the family. He'd just been missing for awhile. Many had thought he was dead and others thought he ran off to some tiny town to open a flower shop (his dream). Turns out he just joined the circus. What a coincidence that the Circus swung by while he was on vacation, tidying up his home. It didn't make much sense to Ana, but she believed he really had joined the circus. There really was a tent and vans. What good would she be at the circus, though? Florence said it would be a good place for her if she planned on running away. Food, living quarters, bunch of freaks. Wonderful place. Ana wasn't so sure. But she knew she didn't want to go home. "Mr. Adder," She said, looking up. "What do you do at the circus?" She tried not to stare at the gaping hole in Florence's face— a mar only she could see. The grin Florence gave her only made the horrible wound worse. "I'm a clown." He said. Anaconda found that hard to believe.
