Nylat flopped out of her pile of blankets, yawning widely. She rolled her shoulders, stretching, but then glancing at her injured paw. Shouldn't be too long now. She seemed to heal slightly faster than the other members. She didn't know whether to owe it to being an animal, or being a hybrid. Shrugging, she leapt up on the spare bed and laid down, staring blankly at Kioko. She had nothing better to do, why not just wait to say good morning to her van-mate? ~~ Kanec had ridden on the top of his van as they'd traveled, shifted into a rat and hiding in a small hollow made by a long-ago hailstorm. He'd never bothered with having it fixed, it wasn't a major problem. Anyways, he hadn't wanted to get sick, since Daniel had. He'd spent probably three hours total in the rain, sneaking out when he hadn't been paying attention. He'd earned an 'I told you so' from his older brother after he'd gotten sick. On occasion, Kanec would shift into his human self, flying high enough to seem a bird. It was cold up that far, but he had his jacket, so he'd been okay. Now that they were stopped, he still sat on his van's roof, watching the sky. One or two clouds pas.sed by, but not enough to make him think of rain. It was nice. After a moment, he slipped from the van roof, arching his back and stretching his wings, before stretching his arms, and twisting to pop his back. After he was satisfied, he peeked in the van to see Daniel lying on his back, staring at the cieling. "You gonna be okay alone for a while, Daniel?" "Yea." "Okay. Well, just send Snap if you need me." "Okay." Slightly put off by his short answers and monotone voice, he grimaced a little, before retreating and shtting the van door quietly. After a moment, he opened the door again, quietly grabbing a book from his desk before leaving. He flipped to a seemingly random page, studying the dragons upon it. He'd finally decided on a shift. He guessed it would take him a while, seeing as there were many types of dragons, but he liked the challenge. He read the book as he meandered through the Circus grounds, not paying much attention. ((It would be quite funny if he ran into Disera.))

Dravius had also spent the greater part of two days in his van, stil feeling vaugely ill. He had gotten bored on the second morning, and poked his head out, squinting in the bright weather, decided he didn't like it yet, and retreated back inside. Now, he had finally gotten it together enough to climb on top of his roof, and lie on his back to try and absorb the sunlight. A member had given him the new records not too long ago, and they seemed to be in order, aside from a few mssing things. A few footnots in the margins fixed that, and Dravius dropped them beside him in a stack, weighing them down with a thick, hardcover book. Yawning, he slid down, stretching his arms out in front of him. The town that they had set up by seemed familiar to him, bur he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Shrugging, Dravius slid off of his van, blinking slowly in the almost thick light. He yawned so widely that his jaws creaked, and shook his head quickly, flicking the longer hair out of his face. It was entirely too clear out, with zero chance of rain. Dravius huffed slightly rolling up the sleeves of his already three-quartered shirt. It happened to be bright white with a cat in the bottom right corner. It was adorable. After wandering about for a few minutes, talking pointlessly to a few circum members, Dravius stopped short in his tracks when he spotted Zephyr hugging the puppet toting oddity from a few days before. A look of extreme confusion crossed his face before he turned in his tracks and promptly walked the other way. Not worth finding out what was going on here. Zephyr's hugs were mentally scarring. Thus, he circled around and stood next to Raphael and behind Maya, reaching out a hand to snitch some of Maya's fruit. He waved as well, slipping a blackberry in between his lips, picking it apart segment by segment. He muttered something about sunlight, and stuck his fingers back into Maya's fruit bowl.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

Raphael, after spending a few minutes gazing at the sky, eventually turned his attention back to Maya, who was still concentrating entirely on the fruit bowl in front of her. He smiled slightly, only looking away when he heard Violets voice. "Oh. Good morning, Violet," He greeted with an inclination of the head. "Not particularly... The tent has already been finished... I suppose you could always help clean the place, but there are members doing that already."
He waved a hand, then slipped both into his pockets and shrugged. "Of course, you can always go ask another member if they need help, if your intent on being helpful." He smiled, before glancing over his shoulder again at the main performance tent. A few Circus members we're leaving it, signalling that the cleaning and final touches had all been completed. Well, that was good.
Lifting a hand out of his pocket, he ran his middle finger over the bridge of his nose, before crossing his arms and catching sight of Dravius' approach, returning the silent wave as he went and stole his lunch. "Nice shirt," He greeted, laughing quietly.
Maya, who had only glanced up to greet Violet with a smile, had returned to her fruit in full force, looking momentarily confused when a hand snaked over and helped itself. Sure, she hadn't seen Dravius in the last couple of days, having been resigned to her own van and he to his, but she was feeling just a little unforgiving that he was stealing her fruit. Probably an after-effect of the illness. Grumpyness.
Pouting, she glanced over her shoulder as he helped himself again, then got to her feet and held out the bowl, now only holding a few mixed berries seeing as she'd pretty much finished off most of them. "Would you like some?" She asked sweetly, a hint of sarcasm in her tone and her ex pression slightly amused. Raphael snorted quietly as Maya seemed to decide that acting like a grumpy old woman towards Dravius was probably a little unfair, and resorted to hugging him around the middle, still keeping hold of her bowl.
The Ring-Master still hadn't got to the bottom of whatever was going on with those two, and mentally reminded himself to talk to Dravius later. Sure, he had ideas, he simply wanted confirmation. Inhlaing through his nose, he scoped the area around him, pausing when he caught sight of Maccus and Zephyre, rolling his eyes slightly. He'd as.signed Maccus a van, though the male still seemed entirely uncertain of whether or not he actually wanted to stay with the Circus, and there was no obvious sign of either... Maccus seemed intent on thinking about the decision for a while.
~~~
On the outskirts of the Circus' border, Karene had pretty much finished setting up the barrier. One that would preferably keep out unwanted visitors. She rubbed her hands together, making sure by walking the border she'd cast the charm fully, before sighing in satisfaction and glancing townbound.
As far as she knew, the Circus' performances started tomorrow night, so in the meantime, all the members had the choice to do what they wished. It usually involved visitng the town, or setting up recreational activities around and about. Yawning, Karene had been about to head back into camp when she caught sight of an oncoming couple, one much shorter than the other.If she'd had Julian's eyesight, she probably would have seen who they were long before she actually did.
Florence. She recognised him, and was actually rather surprised to see him. The little girl who accompanied him, however... She was pretty sure she'd never seen before. Lifting a hand, she gave the two a silent permission to enter, though no doubt Florence would have gotten through the barrier anyway. He was a recognised Circus member, the act was more for the benefit of the little girl.
"Good afternoon," She greeted, crossing her arms and raising her eyebrows. "Surprised to see you here, Florence. Who's your little companion?"
"That's the problem," Violet said with sigh, holding her hands up. "Most of the people got out earlier than me and the older members already have jobs around here." Scowling for good measure she crossed her arms and pursed her lips in an unforgiving way. "And I don't really want to be a bother," she muttered, looking edgewise. Huffing she stomped one foot angrily. "I feel so useless but there's nothing for me to do," she exclaimed. "I mean, I'm not poking at Maya or Dravius, it is nice to see them together, but I can't actually slack off like them," Violet said hopelessly, throwing in another wild hand gesture to get her point across. "I was useless enough last time I was at this place, and my conscience isn't letting me off this time." [Derp. ><]
Had it been any other day or so situation, Maya probably would have let Violet's comment slide. In fact, it wouldn't have bothered in in the slightest. At the moment however, the young womans very recent recovery from her illness made her irritable. She dropped her arms from where she;d been holding onto Dravius, before looking at Violet. It was a good thing Raphael spoke first. "Uh... Violet..." He murmered, raising an eyebrow. "There's no need to get worked up. The construction of the tent really doesn't take all that long, and really... Most members help out when and where they can. Your not being a bother just 'cause your here," He laughed. "Look. Setting up the tent was the only major thing that neededdoing today... Most of the members will just make the best of the time they have before shows start." Maya, who had still been watching Violet, felt a little offended Violet's words. Slacking off?... She wasn't slacking off... Besides, once the main tent was up, no members really had much to do unless they felt like it. It's just how the Circus ran. But really... To make it sound like none of them did anything. Alright, yes. The blonde haired butterfly was being way too easily irritated by this, and she knew it too. But to have her and Dravius brought into it... Wait. What did it even have to do with either of them anyway?... Had Violet said this before she got ill, Maya probably would have simply said what Raphael had, smiled and waved it off. Sighing, the girl put the bowl she carried into Dravius' hands, despite the fact she'd wanted to finish the fruit. "Excuse me," She smiled slightly at Raphael and Violet, then walked off, flaring her wings as she did so. The young woman came to a stop not far from where the Ring-master and the others were, looking up at a nearby tree before using her wings to settle herself into it, sitting on a lower branch and crossing her legs, one over the other. She could see the town from here, and was tempted to go and visit it, though was stopped by the fact she very rarely went anywhere on her own. Leaning against the bark of the tree, she sighed quietly through her nose, suddenly feeling a little stupid for even being bothered by what Violet had said. Ugh. She blamed the illness.
"I'm not?" Violet asked softly. "But I'm not doing anything..." Shaking her head Violet looked towards Maya, who was looking decidedly offended. Preparing to apologize for her words, though the behavior was a bit uncharacteristic for the butterfly-winged teen, Violet blinked and opened her mouth, only to have Maya stalk off in what seemed to be a huff. Violet flushed a deep red, her entire face lightning up. "I...I," she stuttered embarra.ssedly, her eyes worried. "I should probably go apologize," the necromancer said softly, rubbing her cheek with one hand as if the simple movement would stop the scarlet flames burning in her cheeks. "It wasn't r-really fair for me to say that," Violet muttered. Removing her hand from her face she ran her fingers through her hair, preparing an apology for Maya. Looking at Raphael quickly Violet walked hurriedly over to Maya, who was sitting on a branch in a tree, unconvienently higher than Violet's head. Craning her neck the girl frowned. "Hey, M-Maya, sorry for about what I said...you don't need to talk to me if you d-don't want to." Crap, she thought with a sigh. I get my stutter now?
Having still been watching the nearby town, chewing lightly on her lip in agitation, Maya barely noticed Violets approach until the girl spoke, and the young blonde glanced over her shoulder looking momentarily confused. "Oh... No... It's alright," Maya smiled, crossing her arms to rub her upper limbs before turning her gaze back to the town. "I'm sorry for taking it the wrong way, which no doubt I did," She continued, looking confused again and tugging lightly a strand of her own golden hair between her fingers. "It's just... I'm not sure. Something's bugging me and I can't put a finger on it." She paused, then sighed and released her hair, allowing it to simply fall with the rest down her back. "... Maybe I'm just not as recovered from that illness as I thought." She shrugged, then stretched her arms above her head, the movement causing her wings to flare again slightly, flopping against the tree bark again with a quiet huff. ((I'll stop posting now... o-o))
Dravius had raised an eyebrow as Violet began speaking, resting his elbows gently on Maya's shoulders, before his brows suddenly slashed downwards, as did the corners of his mouth. "Slack?" He murmered, dangerously soft. If it was something he couldn't stand it was someone insulting his working, especially with such a casual tone. When Maya promptly let go of him and shoved the rest of the fruit into his arms, his face relaxed, and he turned to follow her movement. "Yeah, she seems a bit...teed off." Dravius answered Violet's most likely hypothetic question, shrugging and eating the rest of the berries in the bowl. As the girl stormed away, he shrugged again, and said quietly, "Well, I guess I don't merit an apology." He began spinning the bowl on his finger, huffing slightly. "How're you, by the way?" He asked Raphael, holding the empty container in his palm. "Uh. This town is, uhm. Really familiar feeling to me. Are you getting it, or am I slowly going crazy?" He asked slowly, looking out at the town. It was almost creepy how much he felt like he knew this town, like something important had happened. It was so frustrating to feel like that and not remember anything definitive about the place. Dravius huffed again, more quietly, and rubbed the side of his head. "Anyways. It's probably nothing." With a shrug, he turned, tossing the bowl from hand to hand, and wandered over towards Maya and Violet, giving Zephyr as wide a berth as possible. He pulled himself up into the tree, sitting an a limb next to Maya, and saying quietly, "This place seems important, but I can't remember why." He chewed on a pair of stitches near the base of his palm, sighing through his nose. "S'odd," He said to himself, through his clenched teeth.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."
Kioko snuggled into her blanket, curling her knees toward her chest. Rolling over, she opened her eyes, blinking at the hybrid staring at her. "Uh. Hi, Nylat." Scooting away from her van mate's blank stare, the pyro sat up, singing her legs off the bed. She flexed her ankle gently, checking to see how it was feeling that morning. Looking over her shoulder at Nylat, she smiled. "It's not that bad today. I guess it's almost healed." The pyro combed her fingers through her white hair, trying to get it to lay right. "So, any plans for today? I was thinking about going for a walk, or going into town to look around at things." --------------- Glancing over the top of his book, Selvai sighed slightly at the blue-skinned shifter, currently sitting cross legged on the other bed with a scowl. She had been in a foul mood ever since the night before the move, coming back to the van later that night and going to sleep without as much as a goodnight to the magician. Her mood had barely improved over the next few days, and she was now pointedly ignoring him in favor of one of her romance books. The magician closed his book, frowning. "Disera." She glanced up at him, an annoyed look on her face. "What?" "Are you still upset? We were simply teasing you, Disera. I'm sorry if it made you feel uncomfortable." "I'm fine," she huffed, going back to the book. "I shouldn't have made fun of your feelings for Kanec. I know you haven't had any experience with those kinds of relationships." The magician placed the book on the bedside table. "I'm sorry." "Gah!" Disera shut her book, jumping up from the bed. "I don't like Kanec! Why does everybody keep saying that!" she flailed, book still in hand. "I'm going outside. So SOMEONE will leave me alone!" Stomping out the door, the disgruntled shifter marched around the circus grounds, too upset to pay attention to where she was walking. Turning a corner of a circus members van, she had to stop short to avoid slamming into Kanec. "Hey! Be more careful! You almost walked into me," she yelped. Face burning, Disera looked away from the other shifter, spotting her book on the ground where it had fallen from her hand. "Great." Picking it up, she tried to brush the dirt off the cover. "Oh, and my bookmark fell out, too. This day is just perfect." ------------- Selvai rubbed his forehead as Disera stomped out the door. It seemed the only to be done was to wait for her to calm down before trying to speak with her again. Grabbing the book from the table, the magician tucked it into the sling beside his bandaged arm. With Disera gone, there was really no reason to stay inside the van any longer. And now that the weather had finally changed into something more pleasent, it would be a waste not to enjoy it. He walked toward the edge of the circus grounds, heading for a stone wall that bordered a portion of the field the vans had been parked in. The magician picked a low spot in the wall, barely reaching his waist, and carefully balanced himself before his novel out of the sling. Opening the book, Selvai found his previous spot and was soon oblivous to the rest of the circus. ((Ny you creeper))
[[Dravius you will not be able to escape the HUGS. no one will.]] Florence saluted Karene as he strolled up, and Ana followed more cautiously, looking at the woman in front of them and down at the Circus members milling about or working. She didn't think this whole Circus thing would work out. It's not like she was an orphan— though she might as well have been. She would probably just cause trouble and get sent home. She sighed, and looked up at the two "adults" standing before her.
"Hallo, I'm surprised to be here," Said Florence, "What, this?" He looked down at Ana. A mock, hurt ex pression came over his face. "Can't you see the resemblance?" He gestured at Anaconda and then at himself. Ana stared, stony-faced, at both of them. Florence pursed his lips. "No, I guess not. Truth is, I found it. Thinking about keeping it." He rubbed a hand over his cheek, "Not sure if it's house-trained though."
He paused to look as if he were contemplating something, and then turned back to Karene, and leaned in a bit close. "Actually, she's more of a... niece? She's my brothers cousins kid. Something like that. Decided to run away... figured this would the... hmm, well, the safest place for her to be while she thinks it over." And there's no way they'd say no to his request! They let him stay. That was a big enough mistake.
Florence stepped back, and then waved his hand. "Anyway! Yes, Anaconda, Karene. Karene, Anaconda." He smiled, and then pointed at the raven. "And that's DeeDee."
DeeDee squawked at him, and Ana gently brushed a hand at the bird. He'd finally undone her hair tie. She hummed as she retied it, and then looked back at Karene. She seemed like an alright lady. And it seemed she wasn't going to suffer a violent death. That was a nice change. Ana wondered how well she knew Florence, and if they were friends. They were friendly enough to be on a first name basis. "How do you do?" She asked, giving a little half curtsy. "And I prefer "Ana"."
((Am not)) Nylat flicked her tail, grinning. "Well, that's good. And a walkin the town might be nice. Wish to have company?I have no plans of my own." She jumped from the bed, biting at her paw, whining once irritably. It itched like no other. She was halfway tempted to just unwrap it, but then Dravius would find out and she'd have to wear it longer. And she's end up hurting herself even more, anyways. With a sigh, she bit at it again, still itchy. Ohwell, she'd deal with it later. ~~ Kanec stopped when he heard Disera, somewhat confused about her rather irritable behaviour today. With a flick of his ear, he shifted into a wolf, following along beside her, his book in his teeth. As he caught up, he tossed his book up in the air to land on his back and looke dup at her, tilting his head with ears flat. "What's wrong? You aren't you today. You seem very upset. Any way I can help?"
Kioko walked carefully over to the dresser, digging out her comb and properly untangling her hair. She returned Nylat's grin with her own smile. "I'd like that. Since you're not doing anything, we could go whenever you're ready." The pyro threw her comb back into the drawer, and turned back to see the hybrid chewing at her bandaged paw. Biting her lip, Kioko walked over to the other bed, kneeling beside Nylat. "Is the bandage bothering you?" she asked softly. Taking the hybrid's injured paw gently in one hand, Kioko used the nails of her other hand to scratch at the wrapped limb, being careful not to apply too much pressure and hurt her. "How's that? Any better?" ---------- Disera ducked her head down, wrapping her feathered wings around her. "It's just people and their dumb ideas. Stupid, dumb, wrong ideas," she muttered. Risking a glance over at Kanec, she locked eyes with the other shifter as he looked up at her. Disera looked away quickly, feeling her face starting to burn. "Uh. Actually, you can. Wanna get away from the circus for a little bit? I need some space without so many people in it."
Nylat shrugged. "I'm ready whenever." She knawed at her bandage until Kioko came over, and sighed contentedly when she scratched under the bandage. She set her ears back in pleasure. "Much better. Was getting on my nerves. It's gonna be healed soon enough." She licked her paw and ran it over her ear, flicking her tongue out to clean her muzzle. ~~ Kanec laid his ears back as she vented, somewhat worried at this point. In the short time he'd known Disera, she hadn't lost it like this before. He was about to answer when she met his eyes, quickly looking away. Flicking an ear up, he shifted into his human self, his wings furled and his ears laid back. When she made the suggestion of getting away from the Circus fo a bit, he flicked an ear up in interest. "Sure. Anything to help ya out." ((Fail. But I'm drawing a blank here. *sleeps*))
Stifling a yawn, Raphael glanced towards Violet with a frown as she walked away, heading in the general direction Maya had left. Oh dear... It was most unlike Maya to act that way towards anyone, so it was no wonder the recently returned Violet felt a little put out with the Butterfly's reaction. Sighing quietly, the blonde Illusionist crossed his arms, watching the interaction between the two girls some distance away before turning his attention towards Dravius at the sound of his voice. "Ah... I'm alright. Glad to get out of that weather, I guess." He answered with a quiet laugh, pulling one arm away from where he'd crossed them to run a hand through his hair. He dropped both his arms and slid them into his pockets as the taller male continued to speak, the Illusionists ex pression becoming somewhat thoughtful. "Familiar?" He responded questioningly, looking off towards the town and tilting his head slightly. "Hm... It does seem that way, doesn't it?... Perhaps we've performed here before?... It wouldn't be the first time we've revisited a town." Looking back at Dravius just as the younger male took off towards where Maya and Violet had headed, the Ring-Master echoed the Co-Masters shrug, then glanced back towards Maccus and Zephyre, both of whom hadn't seemed to move; He also caught sight of Selvai, settling himself some distance from the Circus with a book in hand. With a small shake of the head and an amused smile, Raphael looked back at the town, thinking over Dravius' words and looking more than just a little contemplative. How peculiar. ~~~
Still feeling a little guilty about taking off in such an uncharacteristic huff, Maya had resorted to staring down the tree bough she currently resided on as a means of trying to distract herself. That constant, nagging sensation was still bothering her somewhat, and the young blonde glanced off towards the town, frowning a little. Thinking about it didn't help, really. She still couldn't quite point out what it was.
With a slight pout, she went back to staring at the branch, shifting her focus onto her splinted wrist when she caught sight of the dusky orange bandage. She kept her eyes on it for a moment, jumping when the Co-Master, true to his nature, appeared seemingly out of nowhere. The girl flared her wings quickly to keep her balance, and more importantly, keep herself from falling out of the tree, clinging tightly to the trunk and huffing at Dravius over her shoulder.
She would have said something to him, but chose not to on the grounds that it was probably her own fault for having her mind wander. That was usually the case most of the time... Though of course it didn't stop her blaming him previously. It was another one of those habits, she supposed.
Exhaling slowly through her nose, she managed to get her speeding heart rate under control, before shifting herself so that she sat a little closer to Dravius, listening to him with another frown. The Butterfly glanced townward as he spoke, looking thoughtful. She hadn't really as.sumed that the town was what had been bugging her, but now that she looked... It was rather familiar. Though, admittedly, she couldn't decide whether that familiarity was positive or negative. For some reason, thinking she might actually know the place was making her very nervous.
"Important, huh?" Shaking her head, Maya looked back at the Co-Master just as he started chewing on his stitches, sighing quietly and sliding her hand between his palm and lips. "Stop chewing on yourself." She said, gently pulling his hand away from his face, and holding it in her own. Smiling slightly, she threw another glance in the towns direction, watching a few moments before letting go of Dravius' hand and standing, grasping a higher branch to help keep her balance.
"I think... I agree with you," Flicking her wings, she let go of the branch above her head and placed her palm against the tree's rough trunk. "Maybe we should go take a look?" She suggested, looking back at Dravius and biting her lip slightly. As compelling as it was to go and see the place, the idea was still making her nervous. Almost as though she wasn't entirely sure she wanted to know why the place seemed familiar. Still, she probably wouldn't settle unless she went. Slipping from the branch and flaring her wings, Maya landed smoothly below where she had been previously sat, before looking over her shoulder at Dravius with a smile. "Are you coming?"
~~~
"Ah. It's nice to know your here simply by coincidence, in that case." Karene laughed in response to Florence's words, before following the direction of his gaze and watching the little girl who accompanied him. She glanced momentarily back towards Florence as he explained the situation, raising an eyebrow at the mention of the family connection. "Oh I see. So you just came across her out here?" She paused for a moment, then blew a strand of caramel hair away from her eyes, her face curious. "What about the rest of her family?"
Karene bit the inside of her cheek a little, then waved a hand quickly in dismissal. Whatever. They'd find out later, most likely, seeing as Raphael would probably want to know if Florence was planning on keeping her here a while. As the dark haired Clown went on to introduce his little companion as Anaconda, Karene smiled again and inclined her head slightly. "Nice to meet you, Anaconda. And you too, DeeDee." She watched the girl deal with her hair ribbon in silence, then laughed quietly at Ana's next words.
"I apologise, Ana." She responded, looking back up at the Dark Clown with a twitching lip. "She's awfully well mannered. Are you sure she's related to you?" Throwing another glance at the child, Karene straightened herself up and exhaled through her nose, her entire manner slightly intruiged. The girl didn't really seem all that old, yet her attitude hinted otherwise. She seemed very mature for someone who looked so young.
"I suppose we should go speak to Raphael," Karene mused, pulling her gaze away from Ana and back towards Florence. "No doubt he'll be happy to note the return of the Circus' Dark Clown." Smiling, the caramel-haired woman turned on her heel and started walking the way she had come, back towards the main tent, pausing momentarily to look over her shoulder at the two. "Well?" She asked, a warm, welcoming smile on her face."What're you waiting for?"

"That's good. It must be hard not be able to use all four of your limbs," Kioko said. Standing up, she pulled on her cloak and retrieved her shoes from where they were sitting next to the bed. She eased her injured foot inside, and laced them up, wincing a bit when she pulled the laces too tight against her sore foot. "Ow. I guess I should take my crutches when we go. So I can keep most of my weight off of it." The pyro looked over at Nylat, still on the bed. "Do you want to have breakfast before we leave? Or wait till we come back? I'm not very hungry, but it's up to you, of course." -------- Disera smiled gratefully at the other shifter. "Thanks." Looking around for someplace the other circus members weren't already scattered around, she spotted a small patch of woods, far enough away that no one from the Majikus would be likely to go exploring there. "That looks like a nice place," she told Kanec, pointing to the woodland. Unfolding her wings, Disera launched herself into the air, flying toward the group of trees without waiting for Kanec. It took a few minutes to reach them, and the shifter finally touched down a few yards from the edge of the trees, folding her wings and waiting for Kanec.
"I WISH THAT PUNCTUATION HAD A PHYSICAL FORM SO I COULD SMOTHER YOU WITH IT."

Nylat nodded, bobbing her head. "Yes. It's rather hard to walk on three legs. But I have better balance than someone in your case would. Only one leg... I couldn't live with even two." She listened and watched, flicking an ear up. "I'd take the crutches. Nothing else, I can carry them if you decide you don't need them. As for breakfast, I'm fine. I'll hunt later." ~~ Kanec nodded, and as soon as she pointed out the patch of trees, he'd shifted into a cheetah, and was running across the space between their location and the trees by time she was in the air. He preferred ground to air at a short distance because it was all in all more convenient. His book was left carelessly behind where someone could trip on it, but since he was the only one who ever carrid around books on animals of any sort, he was sure it would be returned to his van. He stretched his limbs as far as he could, reaching out a good distance, and covering it at great speed. This was much better than his morning stretches. Maybe he should run more often. He reached the trees just as Disera did, having to stop in a skidding-jogging sort of way. After he'd come to a complete stop, he shifted back into his human self, flaring his wigs. That was the thing about land creatures. His wings never got stretched with them. After a moment of trying to pop the joints to relieve some tension, he gave up and furled them, hearing the satisfying crack of the elbow of his left wing. Felt much better. He walked over to Disera, raising an eyebrow in question. "So, what seems to be bothering you?" ((Lol, Inorite? Well, Kanec was sorta absorbed in his book, and Ny hasn't lef ther van, sooo...))
"You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters."
