(("Ya look like somebody made a smurf get it on with a deer." OMGLOL. You just made my day... Ah. The common town hooligan. We get them everywhere.)) Maya had been quite content to just sit there wearing Dravius' fedora when the Co-Master saw fit to remove it, and she retorted to his actions with a pout, though she was still looking rather amused. "Oh. Guess most of your hats are buried under all that paper and other artsy stuff you have then. Would explain why I never noticed them." She replied in a sarcastic tone, a quiet hint of laughter in her voice. "And sure. It saved me from doing anything with it."
She gently pulled a gold strand over her shoulder, fidgeting with it between her fingers. "And it looks nice." Throwing a thankful smile at the Co-Master, and watching him as he obtained the beverage from the buffet table. She looked at her glas.s, and had barely any time to do anything else before Dravius almost choked on his first mouthful of the stuff.
The butterfly blinked at him, then looked contemplatively at the glas.s in front of her. Spiked punch. Even in a Circus of Freaks, it was bound to happen at some point, she supposed, and she actually bit back a quiet laugh. It was a real shame she didn't really drink alcohol. She giggled lightly as the tall male flailed a hand at the punch bowl.
Gently using a hand to push her glas.s a little further away from her, she addressed Dravius, her voice amused. "Your the boss." She said, grinning. "Why not just order someone to bring out some fresh, non-alcoholic stuff?... Or ask, at least." She nudged him gently in the side, sliding an arm around him when he hugged her. The golden haired teen could only agree with his next statement.
"Probably. Ink and paint seem to have formed an unbreakable attraction to you." She paused, then laughed. "Or your clothes, at least." Maya went back to looking at the glas.s of punch, only returning her gaze to Dravius at his next comment. She glanced fleetingly at the quickly growing fire, then stretched her arms above her head, flaring her wings involuntarily, twisting to ensure she didn't end up hitting the Co-Master in the face. His slight dip in mood had not gone unnoticed. He must really like his punch. She watched him scribble the notice card, then laughed quietly.
Smiling, the girl kissed him briefly on the jaw, simply because she didn't bother to lift herself onto her toes and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. "Do you want to go ask about some more punch?" She said, gently leaning her chin on his chest and smiling at him.

Kanec, as Disera's departure, shifted into a bluejay, gliding through the town, looking in the storefronts, windowshopping, it could be called. He was looking for both objects of is search, but when he finally found one, it was quite unexpected. He hadn't been sure what it was he'd wanted exacty, but when he saw it, he knew it. He shifted quickly, landing even as he slipped through the door. After much haggling on Kanec's end and goggling on the clerk's, Kanec handed over some money and swiftly left with his purchase, shifting into a gyrfalcon and grasping the bag in his talons. He found what else he needed rather quickly, and was soon flying high over the Circus, before diving straight at his van, pulling up and shifting before slipping inside. He set the first item on his bed, wrapped tightly as it was in its bag. He then removed the contents of the second bag and was soon emerging from his van in dark blue jeans, a light blue long-sleeved shirt, and a navy blue dress jacket, both of the latter having slits cut in the back for his wings. He rolled his shoulders, trying to get used to the jacket. Before long, though, he beat his wings, gliding silently over to where he'd seen Disera waiting on his flight in. He landed nearly as silently just behind her, his backstrokes lightly ruffling the gr*censored* with a breeze. He smoothed out his hair a bit as he walked the last short distance, covering it in a few strides. He glanced over at Disera, about to comment on the dres when he noticed she looked a little less that happy, or pleased, as she had been earlier. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, glancing over at her with rooping ears. "What's wrong?" ~~ Nylat waited impatiently as Kioko changed, ficking her tail and twitching excitedly. She even got to the point where she was chasing her own tail, before Kioko finally retuned. She grinned wolfishly, bounding off in the general direction of the party, stopping every now and then to wait for Kioko, bt overall being way too enthusiastc for her to be just happy about the party. She was obviously looking forward to something, though what was the question.

Dravius looked slightly concerned at the idea of bothering anyone else enough to make more punch. "Not really the boss. Just Second-in-Command." He shrugged, tucking a hand in a pocket, the other's fingers still twirling the ring around and around, in a steady rhythm. "And anyways, I feel like I don't do a very good job of it most of the time." He paused his constant movement to examine the ring, twisting it off of his long finger and watching it glint in the almost-gone natural light. Dravius smirked at Maya's teasing, decidedly crooked smile showing a glint of teeth on the right side of his mouth. It might just be the thicker skin from healed over scars that made his grin turn out like that, but with most of his hair covering the right side of his face, combined with the dimness of the surroundings, it was hard to determine. He grinned even wider at the quick kiss he recieved, returning her embrace in kind, then taking a deep breath after her question, watching her head rise and fall with his chest, and feeling the almost constant nag of constriction from the fact that almost all of the skin on his upper chest, especially that surrounding his heart, was covered in stiff, non-flexible scar tissue. The male went back to twirling his ring around his fourth finger, some distraction from anything else he usually did, like tearing at his cuticles or biting the inside of his mouth. It would probably be annoying for anyone else to have to watch the constant movement in his hands, although Dravius seemed to do it unconsciously. "No, I can survive without punch." He joked, flashing a grin at Maya, then humming along with the tune of the music. "Would you like to dance, Mi'lady?" He asked, hugging her close to him. Or would you rather just stay here?"
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

Kioko followed behind the hybrid, grinning herself. "You're really excited about this, hunh?" she asked. The pyro walked a bit slower then her companion, her ankle still slightly sore. As they reached the party grounds, she spotted Maya and Dravius at one of the tables, and waved. She headed straight for them, taking a seat at the table. "Hi guys," the white haired girl chirped happily in greeting. -------- Disera turned around when she heard the rustling of Kanec's wings as he landed. She smiled slightly as she watched the other shifter fiddling with his hair. As he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, Disera leaned into him, sighing at his question. Her first thought was to just brush it off, tell Kanec it was nothing and drag him to the dance. No use in ruining the night for him, after all. Looking up, she noticed his drooped ears and frowned. "You won't listen if I say I'm fine and nothing's bothering me, will you." Sighing again, she rubbed her hands together nervously before beginning. "It was just... Some stupid people, that's all. First some jumpy clerk at the dress shop acting like I was going to attack and eat her, and then a group of drunk idiots when I was on my back to the circus. Had to shift and scare them off before they'd leave me alone." The shifter glanced downward, scuffing at the gras.s with one foot. "I suppose I should have just stayed at the circus and waited for you, If that's the reaction I'm going to be getting from normal people. Save the circus alot of has.sle from townsfolk and such." Her lips twisted unhappily as she looked up at him. "Guess this is one of the reason's Selvai's kept me away from normal people all this time, hmm?"

"Dravius. You know as well as everyone else your not just "Second in Command". Raphael doesn't clas.s you as that, and neither does anyone else. You run half this place... And you are good at it." Maya pouted, keeping her chin where it rested on the Co-Master's chest. "Co-Master is just a ti tle. And if you were crap at your job I highly doubt Raphael would still have you here." She paused, then smiled slightly. "I think it's amazing how well you handle this place. I'd have trouble with everything if I had to deal with as much as you do."
The butterfly sniffed quietly through her nose, arms still firmly wrapped around Dravius' torso. She giggled a little when he grinned at her. Pff. He had such an adorable crooked smile. Maya then resorted to nuzzling into the tall males chest with cheek, only turning to put her chin on him again when he spoke. "Oh. Okay." A small smile tugging at her lips. "No punch for you then."
The blonde had been about to return to nuzzling him when he asked his question, and she had to stifle a quiet laugh. She threw a quick glance over her shoulder, watching the members around the fire and noting the light shade of blue on the horizon that signalled the end of the actual sunset. She turned back to Dravius, her ex pression amuse and her smile still present.
"Actually." She responded, pulling her arms from around his waist. "I do. In a little while." She laughed, a little, tinkling sound, then slipped her arms around his neck and hugged him; Keeping her arms over his shoulders when she pulled away. "Whatever happened to "I'm not much of a better dancer" anyway?" She asked, trying to keep her face from looking too amused.
At that moment, Maya heard another voice, and glanced quickly over her shoulder at the oncoming Kioko; She pulled her arms a little away from Dravius, though she kept her hands on his shoulders. "Oh. Hello, Kioko." She greeted with a warm smile as the pyro sat herself at a nearby table. "You look nice. Is your ankle okay?"
~~~
She couldn't believe she was doing this. Really. It was a good thing Kisa had already seen her like this. She'd proven her wrong, at least.
Karene huffed, stood in her van and as.sessing herself in a... Ugh. Dresses. It was a pretty little thing, she had to admit. Lilac in colour, ending just above the knee, rather floaty and light, and tied behind her neck. The colour complemented the young womans caramel hair rather well, which was up, as usual, though in such a way that it fell freely over one shoulder. She was also wearing flat simple sandals.
Ugh. She still couldn't believe she was doing this. Oh well. With a bit of luck, it'd be worth it. Maybe.
Sighing quietly, she ran a hand through the hair that ran slanted just over one eye, before forcing together enough will to walk outside. She made her way swiftly to where the party supposedly was taking place, pausing as she pas.sed a van to look at Julian. It was clear he hadn't even made an attempt. But she hadn't really expected him to. Glancing off, she noted the party area some distance away, then sighed again, alerting the sword master to her presence.
He took one look at her, then snorted quietly. "You should wear dresses more often." He said, his quiet voice easily audible as he closed his eyes, leaning against the van.
"Don't make me kill you." Karene grumbled, crossing her arms and watching the fire. It was quite a distance away from the vans. Still. She needed motivation.
((Hehe. Karene's so iffy. Hey Ny! Go complment Karene! xD)) Nylat flicked her tail as Kioko enthusiastically greeted and joined Maya and Dravius, while Nylat followed at a slightly slower pace, humming happily to herself and walking with a sort of weave in her step, her tail barely touching the gr*censored*. Her chin was up and her eyes closed and, if anyone didn't know better, they'd think her proud of something. She sat quietly beside Kioko, still humming, but watching the proceedings carefully, particularly Maya and Dravius out of the corner of her eyes. Her tail was flicking in the jerky manner of a cat who was content, but her pricked ears gave away that she was more than content. ~~ Kanec shook his head at her first question, listening intently as she explained. His ears were flat by time she finished. He bit his lip for a moment before replying. "Well, as with the clerk, that's the reaction some of us get half the time. I sometimes envy those like Dravius and Raphael who can go into town pretty much unnoticed. As for the second incident...No explanation other than they were drunk, but that's not really an excuse." He sighed, ruffling his wings with distaste. He never got what people found in alcohol. "But that's no reason to not go into town. Just a reason to not go alone. People seem less likely to pick on us when we're in groups. It's why no one storms the Circus camp itself. Or tries, at least. And Selvai had good reason to keep you from the normal world. Its just, eventually, you were going to have to interact with them, one way or another. You happened to have just a bad first go." His ears drooped a bit, and he siged again. "I take it you wouldn't listen if I said to try and not take this to heart?"
Dravius made a short "Pfft." noise at Maya's pouting, wrapping the girl's hair around his fingers several times, smirking slightly. He had an equally amused ex pression on his face, and grinned wider when she laughed. It was a wonderful sound, and he answered, "Well, I can do slow dancing better than regular. At least with the slower stuff, there's kind of a structure you can follow." He shrugged breifly, corners of his mouth still turned up. Dravius, facing towards Kioko, lifted a hand from Maya's back and gave a curt wave, grinning, although it was like watching a shark smiling next to a dolphin, to compare his ex pression with Maya's. "You do look pretty," He nodded, blinking slowly in the lack of light. He looked quite content to stay where he was, and actually looked rather drowsy, good eye half-lidded. His other one was always a little more open, but both still looked slightly sleepy. "Mmm, Kioko, someone's put something wicked in the punch." He added, flicking a hand towards the large bowl. Dravius began gently rubbing the skin where Maya's delicate wings met her body, settling his chin on top of her head. "Mmm, hi, Nylat." The male grinned quickly at the hybrid, taking his arms away from Maya for a few moments to extend his arms, making the "Uuumph" sound as.sociated with stretching. Moving his head to settle the side of his face on top of Maya's hair, feeling the heat of the fire on his back. He sighed happily, moving his face to the side to yawn hugely, cosing his eyes breifly. "Oh, Kioko. Meant to ask you. We need to take a picture of you soon. For records." He nodded, rubbing the inside corner of one eye. He took his fedora and, leaning back, plopped it onto the girl's head, watching it slip over one of her eyes.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."
Waiting on Kioko's answer, Maya glanced fleetingly at Dravius when he spoke, then laughed. "I guess it is easier than regular dancing. Simple enough for even you to get. You can show me how good you are when a new song starts, huh?" She prodded him jokingly in the ribs, moving her hands from the tall male's shoulders to go back to holding him around the middle. "Oh. Hi Ny." She greeted, waving one arm before resuming it's previous position.
She'd gone back to smiling at Kioko when Dravius spoke again, and she shook her head. Figures he'd go on about the punch. She snorted quietly. Maybe she'd have to go get some herself, later. Some fresh stuff, that is. Looking back at the Co-Master, the butterfly noted his content and seemingly drowsy ex pression, making her grin a little.
The contact on her back sent a little shudder through her body, and her wings flared a little involuntarily due to it. The girl just as quickly pulled her wings back, however, ensuring they were pressed lightly against her body before resting the side of her head on Dravius' chest; Her eyes on the Pyro and the hybrid. She kept her arms around Dravius when he stretched, leaning against him again when he'd finished and smiling slightly as she felt him place his head on hers. Well. If he didn't want to move, she was more than happy to just stay here too.
She listened in silence to the Co-Masters words to Kioko, looking a little surprised when he pulled away and dropped the fedora on her head. "What." She said with a smile. It wasn't really a question, more a simple statement. She pulled her arms from around Dravius, feeling cold air hit her skin which had previously been pressed against the tall males body as she shifted the fedora so that isnt wasn't compromising her vision. "Shall we sit down?" She asked him with a grin, leaving the hat on her head as she walked over to the table, her long, cream coloured dress flowing as she walked. She idly noted that other members had begun to dance by this point, as well as clustering around the fire laughing and chatting. Pausing before sitting, Maya headed to where Nylat sat, wrapping her arms firmly around the hybrids neck. It was nice. The cool night air wasn't touching her arms anymore. "I see you took your cast off." She murmered, unwrapping her arms and sitting on the closest chair. "Are you okay to walk around like that?... It doesn't hurt you, right?" She knew Nylat well enough to know that she would probably suffer through anything if it meant not relying on any form of help. Frowning a little, she reached forward with a hand, stroking Nylat between her soft ears. "It's nice to see you looking so happy though... What's up?" She laughed, leaning over to hug the hybrid again.
"Drunk, and idiotic," Disera commented. "I guess I can overlook the clerk, though. Was actually kinda funny watching her get all jumpy. But those other guys..." The shifter shook her head. "Maybe I'll take your advice and go in a group next time. Sounds alot safer. Especially with those kinds of people around." She looked up at Kanec, smiling a little at his last words. "You kind of sound like Selvai, saying something like that." The blue skinned woman leaned her head against his shoulder, being careful of her antlers. "I'll try not to. It's just hard to forget the kinds of things those guys were saying." Stepping away from him, Disera grasped Kanec's hand, sighing. "I've kind of ruined the mood, hunh? Sorry about that. Guess I do kind of attract trouble." She smiled, looking the other shifter over. "You look nice, by the way. Ready to go join the party?" Disera asked, jerking her head toward the direction of the bonfire. "Looks like we'll be a little late, but I doubt anybody will care." ------ "Thank you, Maya, Dravius." Kioko said, smiling nervously as she played with the hem of her shirt. "You look really nice too, Maya," she continued. "And my ankle's okay enough to walk on. I took my crutches with me into town, but I don't think I'll really need them anymore. You can have them back if you need them for someone else, Dravius." When Nylat joined them, Kioko brought one hand up to the hybrid's head, gently scratching inbetween her pricked ears. "Something wicked?" she asked at Dravius' warning about the punch, looking over at the innocent looking bowl of liquid. The pyro simply shrugged. "Okay... I guess I'll stay away from it then." She went back to scratching Nylat's head, pausing at the co-master's second statement. "Alright, just tell me when you need me to take it." ------ Selvai headed in the direction of the bonfire, pausing occasionally to pick at the folded right sleeve of the dark blue dress shirt he was wearing. Not that it needed to be adjusted- he'd decided to simply fold the sleeve back over his cast and leave the sling behind in the van for the night- but he'd been slightly nervous about the entire ordeal since leaving the food van a short while earlier. Of course, Karene had appearently been intending to ask him first, and had accepted when he'd taken the initiative and invited her to the dance. But that was only after being confronted and challenged, and Selvai suspected that if not for the white haired Kisa, Karene would have gladly skipped the night's festivities. It seemed likely that the Reader would be unhappy with the whole night, considering her reaction to the thought of wearing a dress. Sighing, Selvai shook his head, the action causing the loose ponytail he'd gathered his two toned hair in to sway slightly. Or perhaps he was reading too much into the entire thing, and should simply try to enjoy himself. The magician realized the two of them had never discussed whether or not they would simply meet at the party, or beforehand, and groaned quietly to himself. Debating whether or not to continue in the direction of the bonfire, the magician paused when he unexpectedly spotted Karene and Julian not far from the party area, near a random van. Altering his course, he strode over to the pair, waving in greeting. "Hello, Karene, Julian."
"Gee, thanks." Dravius grinned as he was poked, laughing quietly at her surprise when the hat touched his head, and yawned when she pulled away, covering it with the inside of an elbow. He had a small smile still on his face, the right side of his face curled upwards. It was a look that made him look lazily amused, and he sat down immediatly next to Maya, shaking his head quickly, and seeming a little more alert. He leaned forewards, folding his thin body in half, stretching out to scratch Nylat breifly behind an ear, ruffling the fur in between the said ears of the hybrid, leaving the hair spiked up on one side. Dravius looked towards Kioko, yawning quickly before flicking a hand towards himself, getting up and saying, "Mmm, C'mere. Let me see your ankle." He took an appraising look at Kioko, rubbing an eye for a moment or two. He blinked and held his eyes open for a second, then shook his head back and forth. He noticed Maya seeking to not have any skin touch the cool air, and held up a hand, trotting over to his van, snatching a bright green jacket and returning at speed, making a mock bow and handing the too-large jacket to Maya, grinning wolfishly. "Cold?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. He went to stand behind Maya's chair, looking towards Kioko. He had also grabbed his camera, and waved it, saying, "Say....I don't know, just smile." He held up his camera, grinning in example.
Nylat shook her head, yawning slighly. "No, I'm fine. A few days is more than enough time for me to heal. It wasn't that bad anyways." She fluffed out her fur in the cool air, burying her chin in her chest fur. At Maya's question, she flicked an ear up, silent for a moment as she scratched her between the ears. "Because, if I recall, I said to someone somehing a certain someone else wouldn't. And as such, the two someones are here together, are they not?" She shivered slightly, and the slightly longer fur along her spine rose a bit involuntarily. ~~ Kanec listened intently, his ears flat. He laughed a bit when compared to Selvai. "I don't quite know how to take that. And if it bothers you that much, just tell me, and I could maybe arrange their regretting it." He flared a wing, and furled it befre answering. "You haven't ruined any mood at all. And thank you, you look great as well. And, as the saying goes, better late than never, eh?"
Yawning, Julian, who had remained sat against the nearby van with his eyes closed, could only snort quietly at Karene's barely veiled threat, opening an eye to look half-way amused at her. Her tone wasn't really that of someone who was probably going to mope over this all night; But more someone who was trying to get all the moping out of the way now so she didn't have to do it later.
Inhaling slowly through his nose, and still looking faintly amused, the dark haired Sword-Master pushed himself to his feet, slipping his hands into his pockets and shifting his gaze to watch the members around the fire. It seemed most of the Circus was over there by now, though surprisingly enough it didn't look crowded at all. Probably due to the huge amount of field space they had. A few members were already dancing, others were settling themselves at the number of little tables or by the burning fire. And of course, there was the odd couple or two walking outside the camp bounderies where they wouldn't be so easily seen.
Karene, who had gone to watching the ongoing party earlier, merely glanced at Julian's movements before returning her eyes to the dance. She barely noted Selvai's approach until he spoke. "Oh. Good evening." She said, looking quickly at him over her shoulder and waving a hand, just as the Sword-Master inclined his head to the Magician in greeting. She had to admit, he certainly wasn't all that bad looking dressed up like he was. Not that he was bad looking anyway but- She knew what she meant.
Exhaling, the young woman blew a strand of hair away from her eyes, then smiled. She'd pretty much got all the negative feelings out of her system by this point, though she was still a little iffy about the dress. Well, the party wouldn't last forever. She'd live through it.
Julian, having greeted Selvai, had gone back to watching the fire with an ex pression that clearly stated he'd spent enough time out here. "Well. I'll bid you two good night." He murmered, resting his gaze for a moment on the Magician and the caramel-haired woman. "Enjoy your dance." He added, smiling fleetingly, before strolling away from the open fields and back towards the center of camp. Karene watched him go, then shrugged, before looking at Selvai with her smile still in place.
"Shall we?"
~~~
"Thank you, Kioko." Maya smiled at the Pyro's compliment, then listened to the girl's following words. "Oh. Alright. So long as it's not hurting you." She went back to gently stroking Nylat between the ears, idly listening to Dravius and Kioko, before smiling at the Hybrid when she responded to her earlier question.
She nodded lightly, then blinked, looking a little confused as Nylat continued. It took her a few moments to get it, and when she finally did she blushed and pouted simultaniously. Well. It wasn't like she refrained from saying anything on purpose. She'd wanted to. She just... Hadn't been able to. Sighing a little, Maya couldn't help but snort quietly at the Hybrid's voice. She seemed so proud of herself, or at least, that's how she came across as being. No wonder, really. Considering Nylat had been the one Maya had confided in most.
Laughing quietly, the blonde slipped from her chair in order to hug the Hybrid again, keeping her arms firmly wrapped around Nylat's fuzzy neck as Dravius seemingly disappeared. She watched him leave, then, smiling slightly, nuzzled the warm fur in her arms for a minute before re-seating herself in the chair. She had barely any time to do anything else before the Co-Master returned, presenting her with a rather flamboyant bow and a jacket.
"Not entirely." She responded with a laugh, taking the jacket from him and looking at it; Holding the thing out in front of her at arms length. "It's not too cold at the moment... You just kept my arms warm earlier. I might need this later though." She smiled thankfully at him, then placed the jacket over the back of her chair, before watching the Co-Master as he addressed Kioko. She eventually turned her gaze to the dance, where many of members had finally gotten themselves ready to enjoy the start of the night.

"Don't worry about them. If I hadn't been in a hurry, I would have done worse than just scaring those drunks. They're just lucky I needed to get back and change for the dance," Disera boasted. She took his other hand as he flared his wing, smiling at his words. "I'm glad... Today's been such a nice day," she said, blushing slightly at his compliment. Releasing his hands for a moment, the female shifter spun around slowly, the hem floating upward slightly as she showed off the dress. "Do you really like this one? There wasn't much left to choose from when I made it to the shop." Once again taking Kanec's hand, Disera quicked brushed her lips against his before heading in the direction of the party, gently pulling him along. "Well, can't keep stalling, can we? Maybe if we're lucky Selvai will be too distracted by his own date to bother us." ------ Kioko twisted sideways in her seat when Dravius stood up, lifting and placing her leg on the bench so the white haired boy could inspect it. She returned to her original position once he left to retrieve something from his van. The pyro listened to Nylat and Maya's conversation, giggling quietly and ducking her head down at Nylat's words. Remembering the other item she had purchased during her trip into town, Kioko removed it from her pocket, holding the small package in her lap. Looking over at Maya and Nylat, the pyro wondered whether or not to interrupt in order to present Maya with the small present, when Dravvy returned with the camera. "Oh. Okay..." she said in response to his request. Straightening up, the white hair looked forward stiffly, clasping her hands together in her lap as she waited for Dravius to snap the photo. -------- Selvai returned Julian's slight nod as the sword master left. "Good night to you as well, Julian. And thank you, we shall," he commented. As Karene turned her attention back to him, the magician couldn't help but return her smile. "You look," quite different, were the first words that came to his mind, but fortunately he thought better of saying them. "Very beautiful," he finished, taking in the sight of the light colored dress, and dark hair that had been pinned in a way so that it fell over her shoulder. "Well. I suppose we can't stay hidden in the shadows all night," he responded to her question, looking toward the bonfire. "Let's make the most of the night, hmm?"

Kanec nodded. "Just making sure. I'm sure you would have, but it wouldn't have been very good for the Circus, I'd bet. And the dress is perfect, don't worry." When she lightly kissed him, he returned it, and allowed himself to be pulled along closer to the bonfire. He smiled a bit at her comment on stalling, and responded with poorly hidden amusement. "Of course. Don't want to miss out on the fun, hm? And I'm sure Selvai will be plenty distracted, don't you agree?" He nodded slightly toward where Selvai and Karene were talking, smirking slightly. He was never going to let Karene forget this. ~~ Nylat smiled when Maya hugged her, taking note of her blush. "It is only natural I should keep an eye on you two, no? Not that I'll be hovering like an overprotective parent, no. That's Raphael's job." She fluffed up her tail a bit, curling it around her feet as Maya sat back in her chair, and proceeded to clean a paw, much in the fashion of a cat, andeven swiped it over her ear once or twice. ((FAIL.))

Dravius rolled his eyes at Maya's laughing, then turned to Kioko, raising an eyebrow at the stiff ex pression. "This isn't school, Kioko, don't look so....nervous." He quickly snapped a picture and set the camera down carelessly, then bent to examine her ankle, taking a flashlight from the depths of his pockets, before shining it briefly on the joint, gently rotating it several times, then grinning up at the girl. "Yeah, you should be fine. I'll pick up the crutches tomorrow, alright?" He straightened up, running his hands through his hair briefly, then ruffled Kioko's a little as well, then went back to rubbing at the corners of his one good eye. "Nnn." He made a discontented noise, then shook his head quickly. "My eyes bugging me. Can't see very well." Dravius murmered, sitting on the other side of Maya, reaching over the table to grab a plate and heap of fruit, sitting with his heels against the legs of his chair, blinking rapidly, as if to get something out of his eye. He went back to absently rubbing the inside corner of his good eye with a few fingers, picking at bits of the fruit, pulling leaves off of strawberries, peeling skin off of grapes. He didn't actually eat any of the food, as the small black dots swimming in the corners of his half-vision were really starting to bother him, especially in the dim light from the fire. He closed both eyes and scrubbed at them with the heels of his hand, looking in a rather large amount of disomfort. Dravius blinked hard one last time and stared into the darkness, punctuated in parts with the faintly glowing lanterns. He seemed to be completely detached, if not for the still-constant ring turning. The tall male was not looking so much at the lanterns as past them, into the deep black of the now-star-studded sky.
"Never bring that horrid drink here again." "It tastes of blue, not the river-dwelling reptile, as I had thought."

"Oh. Sorry," the white haired girl said as she tried to relax, slouching forward slightly. "I haven't had my picture taken in a long time," Kioko explained quietly. She tried to work up a more natural looking smile instead of the stiff ex pression she'd been wearing. After Dravius snapped the photo, she blinked at the dots left in her field of vision. The pyro rubbed at her eyes as Dravius examined her ankle. "Thank you, Dravius." When the white haired boy went back to his seat by Maya, Kioko looked back at the small item in her lap. "Um.. Maya, I got something for you when we were in town today," she said as she held up a small package. Inside the plastic wrap were two pairs of white plastic hair clips, each decorated with small images of colorful flowers. Kioko handed them to Maya as she continued speaking. "It's not much, but I thought you might like them. Since I got Nylat something as well, I figured I should get these for you." -------- "Well, there was that too. And thank you," she replied. Approaching the bonfire, she looked over where Kanec gestured, smirking along with him. "Haha, that's good. Too bad I don't have a camera right now. I'd give my right antler to get a picture of those two together. Especially with Karene in that dress." The shifter guided him over to the table where Maya, Nylat, Kioko and Dravius were sitting. She waved to the four of them, turning back to Kanec. "I guess it can't be helped, though. It's a shame." Spotting the punch from the corner of her eye, Disera poured two glas.ses of the liquid, her attention still mostly on the other shapeshifter. Handing a glas.s to him, she took a drink of her own, immediately coughing at the strange, unpleasent taste underneath the drink's sugaryness. "What is this?" she asked, making a face at the burning sensation in her throat. "Don't drink it, I think someone's poisoned the punch," she told Kanec, taking back the cup she had handed to him and sitting it beside her own on the table next to the punch bowl. ((Lawl, crappy...))
"I WISH THAT PUNCTUATION HAD A PHYSICAL FORM SO I COULD SMOTHER YOU WITH IT."

((LOL. Sure puck. If you can be active. xD)) Maya had gone, after as.sessing the general Circus population around the fire, to watching Dravius silently as he dealt with taking Kioko's photo. The poor girl didn't seem all too thrilled about it. She was almost instantly distracted by Disera and Kanec's approach, and returned their wave with a smile. She would have said something in greeting, had they not headed over to the buffet table and the giant bowl of punch that resided there. The butterfly kept her eyes on them with a faintly amused face. She was kind of expecting Disera's reaction to the punch. Clearly the Shifter hadn't noticed Dravius scrawled advice. Lightly chewing her lip, the blonde folded her legs on the chair, creating a sort of cascading waterfall of dress material that fell over the chairs edge, and looking back towards Nylat as she spoke. "Hm?... II think it's okay." Maya replied. "And Raphael is, huh." The girl looked somewhat surprised at the pyro's gift. Leaning forward, the butterfly winged teen took the package in one hand and looked at it. Blinking, she glanced quickly at Kioko and Nylat, then proceeded to unwrap the package. The items inside were, she had to admit, very pretty. She looked momentarily speechless, then laughed, leaning over to hug Kioko lightly with one arm, clips held in the other. "Thank you." She said with a smile in the pyro's ear, before settling herself back in her own chair and admiring the clips. Maya was, again, distracted when she heard Dravius speak as he sat himself next to her, and she looked at him for a moment. At first, she as.sumed he was referring to his bad eye. Though it was obvious with the way he kept rubbing the other that it wasn't. She watched his preparation of the fruit, then immedaitely grasped his nearest hand as he went to move it again. "Stop rubbing at it then. You'll just make it worse." She replied, keeping a firm hold on his hand. She shook her head. "Don't you have something for irrated eyes?... Eye drops or... You know?" She asked suddenly, looking in the same direction he was, and not seeing anything of interest. She turned back to him for a minute, then went back to watching Disera and Kanec who had by now sat near the buffet table. ~~~
"Oh. Cheery little ray of sunshine he is."Karene grumbled, looking off in the direction Julian had left. She turned her attention back to Selvai when he spoke, and raised her eyebrows slightly at his comment. Uh-hu. She heard the cover up for whatever he was gonna say. Not that she as.sumed it was a bad thing but still.
The corners or her lips lifted a little as she reponded. "You don't look too bad yourself." She retorted, trying to ignore the funny little thing her stomach was doing. She blamed nerves. Although... She really hadn't thought she was all that nervous. Was she?...
Shaking her head, she nodded at his last words, then held a hand over her eyes as she scanned the area. She noted Dravius' and Maya's location, along with Kioko and Nylat. She also noted Disera and Kanec. Her first immedaite thought was to go talk to the shifters, only for that to be quelled by their reactions earlier. They wanted to be alone... And if she took Selvai over there maybe he'd get all overprotective again. Her second choice was to go sit with Dravius and the others... Only she wasn't sure about that, firstly: She was wearing a dress. Second: The little round tables were barely big enough to seat four people.
Sighing through her nose, Karene then caught site of Raphael, who was currently stood by the fire, talking to a couple of members. "Come on. Let's go over to the fire." She said, rubbing the back of her neck with a hand. "Although it's not actually cold... This garment reveals way too much of my skin for me to stay suitably warm enough." She smiled at him, then headed towards Raphael and the other members over by the blazing inferno.
((EDIT: OH GOD. I can't believe I'm doing this. This. Is gonna kill me.)) My god. This so called Circus travelled a long way, Zyano was rather surprised the number of vans and whatever else had managed to stay together. Saying that, what he knew of these people so far should have made it possible. They weren't normal, as far as he remembered. He also remembered vividly the state of turmoil the Circus seemed to be in, back on the beach. Ugh. The beach. At least that awful salty smell wasn't lingering around this area. Speaking of that turmoil. There seemed to be none of it now as the giant wolf came to a stop a good long distance away from where the Circus had stopped. He could make out clearly the vans, and the fire, and the little dots of light that signalled the purple coloured lanterns floating around. He was too far away to be noticed, however, which was how he preferred it, at the moment. Zyano had, naturally, been keeping a close eye on the moving Circus. watching them as they made their way to the last town only to get moved on by uncomfortable viewers. The shows themselves had greatly amused the hybrid. It wasn't every day you came across a Circus so... Dark, in places. That one guy who could stab himself without feeling it, he was interesting. And the way the Ring-Master created entire worlds that encoated everything around him. Then there was the guy who couldn't miss, the shifters. And that hybrid. Though admittedly he hadn't seen her perform. Exhaling through his twitching nose, Zyano flopped onto his stomach under a rather large tree, situated in a seperate field to the camp. He'd continue to keep an eye on them. For now... And then, perhaps... He would finally accept the place as his new home. Should those peculiar humans accept him in turn.
