Lance looked at Crystal. "Oh, I thought I was alone" he snapped. "I hate to rain on little miss smarty pant's private party" he smiled meanly. He turned back to the waves. They kept his mind away from his dark past. His mother left him at age four and took his older sister with her, leaving him behind with his father. His father got drunk everynight and when he got drunk, he took it out on Lance and that was never a good thing.

These 4 are friends.  Nathan is Naomi and Raven's older brother.  Raven is quiet, reserved, and analytical.  She enjoys reading, and learning about the thiings that interest her.  She has always liked Halloween and macabre.  Naomi is responsible and somewhat outgoing.  She is intelligent, but has a tendency to nag at her sister and have mood swings.  Esther is quiet, somewhat like Raven, and is a family friend.  She is an artist and is rarely seen without her sketchpad or paints.  Nathan is very shy and analytical.  He likes playing chess and piano, and wants to be a detective.  He, unlike Naomi, thinks long and hard about all decisions, and doesn't go with his gut feeling.  Esther likes archery, also.
