[[I assume that it is big enough for someone to be in comfortably]]
The last thing he remembered, he had been in one of the oceans in Umicksep, his home world. It had been storming above, dark clouds flashing lightning and the waves roaring as they attacked the air. Xander and a few other Kali had moved into deeper water where the storm wouldn't affect him. He could hear the thunder above as it boomed at the world. And then, all of a sudden, the currents changed, and he was dragged to the surface. He was thrown into the air and it felt as if a giant hand was pulling him up towards the clouds.
At that point, he passed out, and here he was now, in an unknown place. Xander hesitantly cracked his eyes open. It was dim. He waited for his eyes to adjust to the light before properly glancing around. It seemed that he was in some sort of large container filled with water. There were many other containers around him, and each of them held a single creature in it. None of the other creatures looked like him. To the left, a source of light was shining on the left-most containers.
Xander tested his limbs, moving his arms and kicking his legs. He brushed his fingers against his gills, nose, and finally his ears. Everything appeared to be in working order. He breathed out harshly, letting air bubbles flow out of his nose. Fatigue made his eyes droopy, but his instincts ordered him to stay awake. He reached out and felt what looked like to be the border of the container. He thought it was glass for a moment, but then he ran his nails against it and it didn't scratch. He clicked his tongue in irritation and let out a few curses. He tried to swim up, but the top of the container was only ten feet up, and it was as solid as the walls.
Xander noticed that there was a white spot on the outside of the container. He moved over to it and discovered that it was a note made out of a paper-like substance attached to the outside of the wall so it wouldn't get wet. He skimmed it. It had strange lettering on it that he didn't recognize. He read it over and over again, and the letters clumped together slowly started making word he could understand, even though he had never seen them before.
"A new life..." He mumbled, trying out the language. It was strange and obviously not meant to be used underwater. Maybe it would sound better once he was above water, if that ever happened. The writer of the letter hadn't made it very clear when he was going to be let out of the container, but he hoped it was very soon; the other creatures in the other containers seemed to still be passed out, which was a good thing being that they may or may not want to harm him. It said that he needed to escape, but how exactly would he be able to do that?
Xander took a second to think about his situation. His planet was dieing, but did that mean that his people were already dead? He hoped not. He had never really been that friendly with the other Kali, but that didn't mean that he wished for them not to survive. If they were gone, then he, Xander, would be the last of his kind, the last of a failure. He didn't want to be the last, because if he was, then there would be no hope, no reason for him to keep fighting for life.
Xander shook his head. There was no time to be thinking depressing thoughts; he needed to get out of the tank and onto the dry-looking land outside the container. But how? He tried to push against the glass, but it didn't give out. He kicked at it, but the only result was a loud thud and his foot throbbing. It was useless, there was no way he could escape. Maybe he could just wait until someone else managed to get out, and then copy whatever he or she or it did.

The battle was harsh and many creatures had already died. And for what: peace? It brings to mind an old earth song that one of the Tvar had brought back from an exploration: Then they stood beside the treasure, on the mountain dark and red turned the stone and looked beneath it... "Peace on Earth" was all it said... A girl stumbled and fell, over body upon body of her fallen comrades. They were soldiers, barely older than her. She looked around wildly, as if searching for a way out. And then they found her, shivering and alone in the barren wasteland that had once been a thriving city. She let out a shriek as she heard the footsteps behind her, but was too slow to jump away from the spear that slid through her body...
Blue eyes blinked open to gaze upon a sea of strange tanks in the near darkness. The owner of the piercing blue irises first thought as she awoke was: I should be dead. She found that she could stand and lifted herself to her feet, trying out her legs. She didn't seem to be dead. That was good. However, her head was killing her, sending shots of pain into her body, almost making her fall down again. She clutched at her belly, suddenly realizing that it was also hurting and discovered, to her dismay, that there was a gaping whole in the belly of her jumpsuit. Instead of there being any blood and a hole in her stomach itself, there was just a faint scarred outline of where the spear had entered her body, gutting her.
Then it dawned on her. She wasn't on her planet anymore. It was much too cold and damp and her planet didn't have caves or anything of the sort. It was much too natural to be of Tvar creation. Her mind reeled as she attempted to make sense of the situation. She couldn't figure out how, when moments ago she was facing death, she was alive and well in some sort of glass enclosure. It was large, she realized, looking around and seeing that the walls of the enclosure were about 3 feet on either side of her. Maybe all the cases were different sizes depending on the size of the creature, of course, that was assuming that the rest of the shapes in the darkness were creatures. For all she knew, they could be random floating things and she was just dreaming.
Something caught the girl's eye and she wandered over to it, almost bumping into the glass as she bent down to grab the thin sheet of paper. A pale, almost white, hand reached down and picked up the paper gently and cautiously, as if afraid it would eat her. She unfolded the thing and discovered it was a note, but the language was like nothing she had ever seen. She ran her hand through her short, snow white hair and started to read. Her eyes darted across the page, attempting to try and read it, while her mind translated it for her. She dropped the sheet as if it burned her. "Amur." Her mouth was dry and crisp as if it hadn't been used in days, which, for all she knew, it hadn't. It knew my name. Who sent it? She was silent as she bent to retrieve the fallen paper. As she read it again, it finally translated. "New Life. Maybe can try." The new words felt strange and different on her tongue and she lost some of the words, but she was learning. Now, it was time to figure out how to get out.
((Was that too short?))

[[Haha, no one should feel intimidated by my overly decriptive posts. Anyways, your post is just fine :) it is more than the requirement so its good! About the tanks, I was envisoning something tall so the creature can't easily jump out but wide enough so the creature can roam easily enough. Awaiting Wulfey's and Uboa's reply!]]

Name: Eleonora (prefers to go by Ellee) Age: Approximately 79 Earth years; but 17 Lurian years. Gender: Female Creature: On her planet, Luria, her species is known as the Ohen. Typically violent and rare creatures, the Ohen's skin is tinted purple around the edges (such as at the fingertips, ears, elbows, and toes), and in place of canine teeth, they have two large fangs emerging from their gums. The male Ohen's fangs typically can be visible when their mouth is closed; however, a female Ohen's fangs are just short enough to be concealed. The Ohen feeds on other creatures' blood, although it does not need to in order to survive. However, without blood, they are physically weakened and their powers are useless. Power: To a certain degree, the Ohen are illusionists; they can cause others to become confused as to where they are, what they're doing, etc. ((It should be noted that, because I'm assuming Eleonora will not be drinking much blood, that this power will not work to its best ability and is almost useless.)) Also, with their violent nature, the Ohen tend to thrive in combat. This, however, isn't necessarily a power, but more of an acquired skill. Personality: Eleonora, having lived in solitude for quite some time, has grown used to being alone. She rarely speaks, and when she does, it is usually in a broken language, since she is not used to speaking properly. However, this does not mean that she isn't intelligent, or that she is timid of others. Eleonora, like most Ohen, is typically violent; she will often think of the most torturous solution to take down an enemy and is not afraid to put such a plan into action. She also rather enjoys getting into trouble and is very witty; although most would not expect her to be the type due to her silent nature. Appearance:* Added to this would be the typical Ohen attributes; the purple-tinted skin and the fangs. History: About ten Lurian years ago, the Ohen broke out in war against the Floreni, a rival species on the planet of Luria very similar to humans. The cause of the war was simple- Although there were no more than one hundred or so Ohen on the entire planet, they were killing Floreni abundantly; capturing and forcing labor upon them, torturing them for sport, and sucking them dry of their blood. Fed up with the brutal treatment, the Floreni rebelled, quickly finding one surefire way to kill the Ohen- dismemberment of any body part. Even as little as a severed finger could instantly cause death to the Ohen. With this knowledge, the Floreni successfully killed most of the Ohen, leaving few who were only children to survive on their own, believing that they would not be able to live without the help of an adult Ohen. Eleonora was one of these children, able to survive by hiding from Floreni and drinking the blood of other, smaller creatures on the planet. Other: The Ohen are not vampires. They are not affected by sunlight, wooden stakes, or anything of the like. They do not have enhanced senses or strength. If anything, they are bloodthirsty humans. *Credit to FeliceMelancholie on Deviantart.

Eleonora had long since gotten used to sleeping in uncomfortable positions, but when she woke up this particular morning, her back ached like hell.
She figured she must have slept funny on the tree branch she was sure to have been suspended on as her eyes fluttered open. While she expected to see red leaves, skinny branches and a hint of sunlight peeking through the crevices, she instead opened her eyes to...well, nothing, really. The light was very dim, something that was abnormal to Luria, as the planet was extremely close to their sun. Even at nighttime there was still a fair amount of sunshine. Because the change in light confused Ellee, she reached up, hoping to take grasp of a branch or leaf. The air above her was the only thing clenched in her fist. Realization struck then, and Ellee's heart began to pound in her ears. What if someone had found her? It was only a matter of time before the Floreni would come across dead animals drained of their blood and suspect an Ohen was behind it. What if they finally captured her? She bolted upright, looking around her slowly as her eyes grew used to the change in light. Her surroundings were starting to reveal themselves- she appeared to be in some sort of hole underground. Or was she in a cave? She noticed a small light from far away that appeared to be the way in- or, in Ellee's case, a way out. Before running for the exit, though, she hesitated. Around her, in tanks that looked like they were made of ice, were other creatures, ones Ellee had never seen before.
It didn't take her long to realize, as she reached her hand out in front of her, that she, too, was enclosed in one of these containers. As her fingertips brushed against the wall in front of her, she noted that it felt sort of papery- or was that something else? Ellee ripped the piece of parchment off of the wall, examining it. There were markings on it that she didn't quite understand at first, but when she blinked, they slowly started to morph into letters that she had never seen before, but could somehow understand. Her eyes followed the letter as she grazed through it, reading slowly and thoroughly. She didn't understand how, but somehow she could fluently read in this language, and it made her wonder if she could speak in it, too. Although Ellee wasn't a fan of talking out loud, she tried to read the last part of the letter to herself.
"Wishing you... all... of the luck, the Un...iv...erse." She spoke in what sounded like a broken dialect. She didn't repeat the same vowel sounds or elongate some of the words, but she could understand what she was saying. And she felt a warm sensation in her chest when she realized that she enjoyed the language. It was beautiful, in writing and in speech. It could make a person like Ellee want to learn how to converse again. A new life, she thought in the new language. Maybe that was best for her. She wouldn't have to constantly be on the run, or ration her food, or live in solitude. She was finally free.
Well, she would be when she found out how to get out of this damn tank.

The enclosure was tall, the strange material that made up her cage was hard and nothing she did could penetrate it. The material was also slick, there was no way she could ever manage to get enough traction to climb the walls. For several minutes now, she tried. She braced her back against one of the corners while stretching her limbs to the side walls as she tried to shimmy up them. She tired to run up the wall, only to fall square on her rear as she cursed in her native tongue, then cursing herself in the new language for using her native language.
Every second and every minute that passed, Charlotte's mind had begun absorbing this new language; the grammar, the spelling, the pronunciation, the meaning, everything. It was like the air around her was knowledge and her mind was a sponge. It truly was strange, but Charlotte paid no heed to what was happening, all she focused on was getting out. However, any attempt she made ended up with pain and disappointment. Soon after one of her 'running up the wall' attempts failed and she fell on face, biting into her lip and making it bleed, she reasoned with herself to take a small break.
Charlotte sat in the middle of the tank pouting and fuming. She sat with her legs crossed and her arms crossed. Doe-eyed and with her pursed, bleeding lip, she reluctantly looked around the cave as if she was going to spot someone who was already free and ask for their help. It was a scenario that she wouldn't like to encounter, but if push comes to shove then... she was just desperate to get out. Her child-like attention span was getting to her. She bounced her ivory toned legs up and down as she searched.
To Charlotte's relief and disappointment, there was no one thus far that had made it out of one of the tanks. However, she noticed that there were others that were awake and moving restless top. She didn't pay much attention before, but now she saw movement and life. The small body sprung up to its feet and ran to one of the walls, only to get a mouth full of it and land right back where she started; on the floor. Slowly Charlotte got up, and pressed herself against the cold material. Her bleeding lip felt relieved as the coldness numbed the growing fat lip. Running into the wall had only made it worse, but the pain was nothing to Charlotte. Right now she needed to find a way out of here and maybe if she observed someone else's attempts, she could work off of that.

Banging on the glass was futile, Amur reasoned after slamming a powerful fist
into it a few times. Near her, another creature was trying the same tactic, but
it didn't seem to be doing anything. At least she wasn't alone in this strange
place. "Hello?" The words felt odd on her tongue, but strangely, they
also felt right. It was as if she was born to speak this language. Suddenly,
her mind quickened, it's gears turning as she thought. I wonder if it's
tiger proof. They made it for someone weaker... right? Amur fell onto all
fours as the transformation began. Fur sprouted from her skin and body-suit,
painting her white with black stripes. The bones in her face pushed forward,
turning into a snout. Her ears slithered to the back of her head and elongated
and widened, forming pointed ears. A tail lengthened from her butt and slashed
back and forth. Finally, it was over and Amur was a fully grown, adult Siberian
tiger.
Amur eyed the front of the glass cage, as if deciding whether or not her plan
would work. Positive that it would, Amur crept all the way to the back of the
glass cage until her butt was pressed against it. Then she leaped, paws
forward, mouth agape, at the front glass. Thud! Amur fell to the ground
as she changed back. "Failed..." She sat resigned on the floor of her
cage for a moment before her mind wandered back to when she had first awoken.
How had she gotten here? The universe wrote her a letter. It chose her, of all
her people, to be here. There must be a reason. But how? How did it get her here?
Suddenly, her slitted eyes lit up and she smiled, the first smile since the
start of the war on her planet all those years ago. She closed her eyes and
thought. She thought hard about wanting to get out. And suddenly, the ground
underneath her was no longer hard metal, it was smooth rock. Amur opened her
eyes to gaze at the new world around her.
((So basically, she wanted to get out, so she did. I guess that might not have been clear. I figured she might have gotten there by wanting to escape the war as she was dying. I dunno))

Xander clicked, cursing. The others were starting to awaken, which was not a good thing. If one of them somehow managed to get out, they might be able to find a way to kill everyone in the containers, removing the danger of the other species. At least, that was what Xander would try to do. Those sort of thoughts, the killing of others, would have disturbed and disgusted him if it had been directed at another Kali, but the creatures in the other tanks were nothing like him. Sure, many of them had similar body structures, legs, arms, and a head, but they were not Kali.
The others were creatures of land, something Xander had always believed were extinct. Long, long ago, such creatures lived on Umicksep, all horrid monsters known for dragging female and young Kali onto land with rope and eating them alive. Though the monsters hadn't been seen for centuries, every elder told stories about the land-walkers to anyone who would take heed, warning them.
Xander snarled, flashing his teeth aggressively. The land-walkers may have come from other far away planets, but they were still a threat. Who knew how they would act towards him. The young Kali kicked at the glass, raking his claws down it, not that it did any good. He hissed at it for good measure, as if it was some animal that he could scare into letting him out.
He heard a noise and stopped thrashing. It was sort of a thunk, like something running into the glass. He strained to hear more, but it didn't look. So he swiveled his head, looking for something that could have possibly made the noise. He say nothing of interest, other than small land-walker picking itself up. He couldn't tell its gender, but it had red hair, and it was pressing itself against the container wall.
Xander continued to search He swam up until his head brushed against the top of the container. It was difficult to see, but maybe five containers across from him, he watched one of the land-creatures get down on all fours and.... and.... change, becoming an even more hideous white and black furry monster. It slammed into the glass, and then, when nothing happened, it sat down. Xander blinked, puzzled at the strange thing. It was defiantly a threat, that was for sure.
He breathed out, bubbled rushing up, and he sank down until he was sitting on the floor of the container. Maybe... Maybe it would be best if he just stayed here. Inside the glass, he was safe, and it appeared that nothing could get to him. He had water, so he wasn't going to dry out. There was no food, but he figured he could go a week or so before he starved to death. That... That sort of death didn't seem so bad; surly it would be better than being eaten alive. Xander brought his knees to his chest and watched the other creatures around him.
[[When they do get out, where do they go? Like, does the cage just suddenly disappear and they are free to move around in the cave thing, or are they teleported to the outside world?]]

Ellee took a few minutes to observe the few others in the tanks who were waking up and trying to find their own way out. She came across a redhead who tried to scale the wall, a green-skinned creature who was kicking away at the seemingly impenetrable barrier, and a female who suddenly morphed into a strange, feline-like animal that she didn't recognize. Ellee rolled her eyes at their pitiful attempts; she was ten times as strong as any of these foreigners. And she was about prove it.
She drew a clenched fist back, aimed for the center of the wall, and swung. The glass tank rattled, but otherwise didn't budge. Holding her sore, pulsing hand in her other, Ellee looked around the tank, hoping to find a crack in the glass, a button to reveal an exit, anything to help her, to which she found no such luck. At this rate, she was never going to get out- wait, did that feline creature just get out? Ellee squinted her eyes, finding it a bit difficult to see through the glass. Her squinted eyes slowly formed a glare in the creature's direction. How did that thing get out before Ellee? Was it stronger than her? Smarter? A tinge of jealously flashed before her eyes before Ellee realized that it was doing her no good to wonder how others got out. She needed a plan to escape, and fast.
