Had Shinno been in human form, she would have smiled. "As it turns out, I apparently wouldn't know either. After all, I didn't grow up among my own kind, so it's not exactly surprising. I don't know if the fire will go out or not, and I'm sorry if it does, but I think I will travel with you, and I need to cloak myself as a human once more." Shinno was careful not to offer any explanation for her need of a disguise. If she was ever able to fully trust Kacela, then perhaps the day would come when she explained about her past to the wolven girl. "In any case, as you have pointed out, the rain is dissipating, and I would expect the sun to be out sooner or later."
Shinno was feeling much better, not to mention talkative. She was grateful for the storm right now. If other fire birds were to show, then it would likely be later, after she was hidden again. The rain and wet conditions would hopefully slow them down, and any of their movement would be sluggish and uncoordinated, so it was highly unlikely that they would even attempt to travel anytime soon. That was, if they were even still around. Whilst back in the capitol, there had been several unexplained fires, most of which near to where Shinno had resided at the time, but there was never any explanation for them, and they never occurred at a time when they might injure someone. They were usually set to abandoned buildings, or ones that were rarely visited, as it someone was searching for something, or trying to flush it out. The last fire had been a few months after the land fell into its darkened and weakening state.
Shinno attention was brought to the horse as Kacela took the time to clean the last of the dried mud tangled in his black coat. He was a large and powerful creature, but he seemed to have a rather sweet disposition, unlike many horses, especially stallions.
"Will you leave right after the rain lets up, or will you wait for the land to dry a little before setting out?" Shinno asked, standing up for the first time in hours. She felt warm strength coursing through her, although the flame by her side was now just a sad little spark, sputtering angrily. "I'm only wondering because I will need to cast some spells, but I also need to prepare something for the journey. My preparations shouldn't take long, but I need to know whether I should start them now or in a little bit, and just rest more while I wait." Her dark, sapphire blue eyes scanned the barn, as if searching for potential hazards. She actually didn't know what she was looking for, but she felt like she needed to be doing something, and waiting for Kacela's reply wasn't exactly satisfactory.
((Could be worse I suppose. Not that I'm happy with this, but I thought it would be shorter.))
