Deathpaw held back a laugh as Duskkit leapt onto highrock, barely missing it by and inch and panting as she did so. "Look at her, she'll never be a good warrior. She's blind!" He screeched with laughter, his tail swishing across the leafy ground as he laughed...

 Duskkit unsheathed her claws and pinpointed his location from his tail and the noise he was making. She lept from high rock and they toppled over, a writhing mess of black fur. She came out of it bruised and a bit hurt, but unharmed. Where as Deathpaw's right ear tip was hanging by a thread. She jumped abck onto High rock, quite sure where it was now...

Icepaw snickered to Coalpaw before shouting out. "You show him, Duskkit," She mewed and was hushed by a stern look from Flamestirke. She quieted her mews and contented herself with watching Deathpaw grumble over his torn ear.

Deathpaw wandered over to the Emberpaw and aasked for some herbs to put on his bloodied ear. "I didn't think she'd be able todo that." He admitted, staring at the ground...

Duskkit stared blankly at her paws in surprise, what had she done to Deathpaw. All she could remember was her having a rush of adrenaline and then Deathpaw had screamed for help...

Fallingstar was unsure whether he should have been proud or angered by Duskkit swiping at her Clanmate. He sighed, and straightened himself a bit more. "We have all gathered here for one of the great moments in Clan life." He looked straight at Duskkit's eyes. "Duskkit, are you ready to become an apprentice?" He asked.

Coalpaw rolled his eyes when Deathpaw provoked the young Duskkit. 'She's just a kit...' He thought to himself. 'Give her a break.' When Icepaw was laughing at Deathpaw's ear, he observed her as Flamstrike silenced her. This he smiled good-naturely to. "Big mouth." He teased.

Emberpaw sighed before flicking her tail and padding into the medicine den. She came back with a mouthful of cobwebs and and a burdock root hanging from her jaws. She chewed the burdock into a pulp and slathered it onto her paw. She covered Deathpaw's ear with the poultice. "This will keep out any infection," she said gently, not remembering who she was talking to. He was just another hurt patient. She wrapped his ear up gently with cobwebs and wiped her paws on the gra.ss when she was done. She met his eyes quickly before looking away. She swallowed her emotions and hardened her stare. "Next time, don't go making fights when they're not needed," She said and padded under the highrock to watch Duskkit's ceremony.

Icepaw flicked her tail at Coalpaw. "I do not have a big mouth," She said, opening her mouth as wide as it could go. Flamestrike shot her another look and she rolled her eyes. When she looked back at him, he was watching the ceremony.

Fallingstar sincerely hoped that this kit meant every word that would come out from her mouth. He nodded his head. "Duskkit, from now until you become a warrior, you shall be named Duskpaw. Your mentor shall be Rainflower." He beckoned the warrior with his tail.

Rainflower looked up as soon as Fallingstar beckoned for her, as she quickly clambered up the high rock. She stopped awkwardly in front of the newly named Duskpaw. "Don't worry." She whispered comfortingly as she touched noses with her new apprentice.

Coalpaw looked at Flamestrike's back. 'Sure has big ears.' He thought to himself, amused. "I think we should keep quiet." He whispered back to Icepaw, grinning playfully. "Then we'll go hunting together!" He promised.

((Duskkit, from this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Duskpaw. Rainflower, you have worked hard through your apprentice-ship, pa.ss on all you have learned to Duskpaw.   something like that))

Icepaw, of course, started the chant. "Duskpaw! Duskpaw!" She yelled and Blizzardpaw rolled his eyes at her. Icepaw quieted after she finished her chant. Her eyes sparkled mischeviously. "I can't wait, but I think Hailstorm was going to a.ssess me today. Maybe after? Or are you getting a.ssessed, too?" She asked, suddenly feeling bad she couldn't go hunting with him. She couldn't wait to be a warrior, when she could hunt with Coalpaw all she wanted.

 "Duskpaw!" Blizzardpaw shouted. Shadowstorm and Pantherclaw joined in the chant. Leafshadow joined in louder. She felt close to Duskkit, having nursed Skypaw, Earthpaw, and Scorchpaw at the same time she was in there.

Coalpaw looked up at Duskpaw, and felt as proud as if she had been his own littermate. "Duskpaw! Duskpaw!" He yowled, looking at Flamestrike and his mate. 'They must be proud.' He purred quietly.

Dreamstone looked up with her moony eyes at the little apprentice. "Duskpaw!" She shouted, the loudest she would allow herself with. The only time she would screech louder was when she would unleash her battle screech.

Nightowl, who was next to Dreamstone, followed her gaze to the new apprentice. He cheered as loudly and as enthusiastically as the rest of the Clan, as he yowled "Duskpaw!" To the clear blue skies.

"I'm sure they are," She replied, looking at Flamestrike's glowing amber eyes. She smiled to herself. "Come on. Let's go greet Duskpaw and then we'll go ask Hailstorm if I can have the a.ssessment some other time." She said and hurried over to Duskpaw.

Flamestrike's eyes glowed as he watched his daughter become an apprentice. He kept a happy smile, letting himself believe Duskpaw really was his daughter. He stood up and padded over to her, licking her behind the ears gently. "I'm so proud of you," He whispered to her.

Emberpaw watched Deathpaw go and rolled her eyes at his troubled ex
pression. She looked around the camp for Lifewing and saw her staring up at Duskpaw. She padded over to her. "Can we practice battle moves today?" She asked.

Rainflower looked on as her new apprentice quickly approached her proud father. She smiled, thinking, 'What a happy family.'. Rainflower looked solemnly at Fallingstar, giving him a silent thanks for trusting her enough to give her an apprentice. She slowly climbed back down the rock, and joined the rest of the Clan that was dispersing.

Fallingstar inclined his head to acknowledge Rainflower's gaze. He signalled with his tail that the Clan meeting was over, as he quickly leapt off the high rock.

Coalpaw looked at Icepaw in slight amazement. 'How in the world did she hear me beneath all those yowls?' He thought, bewildered. Pushing that thought aside, he slowly made his way, pushing past excited cats, and joined Icepaw to congragulate the young Duskpaw.

 Scribblekit narrowed his eyes. He turned around and pad to walk back to the Nursery. He sat down on the moss and curled into a tight ball. He let out a small sigh and began to think of what he would have done to Deathpaw if he was the leader of the clan.

 Ashpaw hissed. She turned around and began to walk in the direction she had seen Deathpaw go. Shepaused when she saw Emberpaw leave to go back to Duskkit's cremony. She jumped up into the tree right above the medicine cat's den without making a sound.
