Coalpaw looked helplessly at Icepaw for help. The three cats seemed rather hostile, except for one of them. "Um, well." He began, twitching his ears. "We're Clan cats. We live in a camp, where there are many other cats, and we help each other." He nudged Icepaw grumpily. "Your turn." He whispered.

Sky crept forwards, ducking her head shly. "Like...a family?" she mewed, voice sounding hopeful. Her blue eyes watched the tom carefully, full of admiration. Scorch narrowed his eyes at Coalpaw but didn't say a word.

Earth stepped forwards and nodded at Coalpaw, "What are your names? I am Earth, the ginger is Scorch and the little blue she-cat is our littermate Sky." Her tone was even yet commanding, showing that Earth had wisdom beyond her years.

Coalpaw was quite surprised when the nervous little she-cat approached him. "Haha, yeah, like a big family." He said, twitching his whiskers in amusement and thinking of the childish Rainflower. He looked back up at the beige cat that asked him for his name. Coalpaw bowed his head a little, feeling like this cat was worth respecting. "I am Coalpaw," He began, and touched Icepaw's shoulders with his tail tip. "And she is Icepaw. We're denmates. It's a pleasure to meet you, Earth, Scorch and Sky."

Coalpaw looked at Sky in slight surprise. 'What in StarClan is making this cat so upset?' He thought, mildly bewildered. But he shook the feeling out of his head. "Of course we do, Sky." He hoped kindness was in his eyes, since he did not want to get in a scuffle now, when he was so close to becoming a warrior. "We have a medicine cat, who tends to the sick with her herbs. The elderly cats also live with us." He hesitated for a moment. "And we don't abandon cats in need." He turned to Earth. "We are each given a name that describe us. My smoky grey pelt looks like coal, while Icepaw's bright white fur is like ice. When we are born, we are given the name 'kit', when we reach six moons, we are given mentors and change the name 'kit' to 'paw'." Coalpaw flicked his tail, a bit tired of explaining.

[[Hm... can cats smile? xD Maybe the mouth just looks bigger than usual]]

Sky's eyes lit up, "So no cat gets left behind..." she murmured, blushing when she noticed she was meowing aloud. She smiled at Coalpaw and ducked behind her siblings, happy now that she had goten the answer she wanted.

Earth stepped forwards and whispered to Coalpaw. "We were abanonded by our mother, so she has an intense dislike for cats like that." She hoped Coalpaw would understand.

Scorch licked Sky's ears and turned back to Coalpaw. "Can we come with you?" he asked, his voice deep and rumbling, almost like a full-grown cat's. 

Coalpaw looked at Icepaw, then turned back to the three cats. They may be able to live, with each cat supporting one another, but they certainly could not live in a Clan's territory. They would be driven out, or even worse, killed. Coalpaw thought for a moment, wondering how Fallingstar would react. Coalpaw then sighed and nodded. "I can bring you to our Clan, but it's up to our leader to decide." Coalpaw paused for a moment, then explained. "Our leader, Fallingstar, is the cat that well, leads our Clan. He makes almost every decision, and his deputy, Flamestrike, helps and organizes patrols." He paused again and smiled. "Don't worry, Fallingstar is a kind leader, and I'm sure you will all get used to Clan life." He nudged Icepaw, and started trekking back to the camp, waiting for four cats.

Sky nodded seriously, "I'm about 11 moons, so that would make me an apprentice if we were accepted, right? I like the way these Clans live, always helping the weak ones in their clan and such. My mother wasn't like that...but I believe she was a Clan cat. She smelled like you, only wetter...I can't really describe it."

Nightowl was prowling around the camp, a bit bored. He looked up at the fresh-kill pile, stocked up with the latest victims of Icepaw and Coalpaw's as.sessments. He was just about to take one, when he scented the two apprentices, along with unfamiliar smells. Nightowl turned his head to the entrance of the camp. "Hey, Coalpaw!" He called, bounding up to his friend.

"Well, um, you're welcome, Sky." Coalpaw muttered, feeling slightly embara.ssed that this she-cat trusted him so quickly. He was just about to saying something, when he noticed Nightowl racing up to him. "Nightowl!" He called back. "I found these three cats in the clearing, and they said they would like to join EmberClan!"

Nightowl sniffed the three loners in turn. "Well, they don't seem hostile." He noted, and turned to Coalpaw. "Let's bring them to Fallingstar!" He said, and charged off without waiting.

Coalpaw looked at Sky. "Um, Clanmate. He's already a warrior, but he's still extremely energetic." He explained lamely. He slowly followed Nightowl to see Fallingstar.

Sky nodded, looking around with wide blue eyes. "This place is amazing!" she squeaked, a joyful grin on her muzzle. It was the second in only a few minutes, and it surprised her so much she fell silent.

Earth smiled at Scorch, glad that Sky was finally learning to trust again. "This place will do her good," Scorch growled. Earth shook her head, "It will do us all good."

Nightowl grinned at the three cats. "All very emotional, aren'tcha?" He said, before dashing off again, calling out to Coalpaw. "This is your problem!"

Coalpaw stared blankly at the retreating form of Nightowl. "That idiot!" He muttered to himself. "He ditched me!" He sighed, pushing Nightowl aside, and started making his way to Fallingstar, who was crouching underneath a tree, eating a rabbit. He cleared his throat. "Fallingstar, I have found three cats. And they wish to join the Clan."

Fallingstar was eating his rabbit. His ears pricked when he heard Coalpaw and Icepaw approaching, three mysterious cats following them. When Coalpaw said the three cats wanted to join the Clan, Fallingstar almost choked on his prey. "This is a bit sudden, Coalpaw." He mewed slowly. He then looked at the new cats. None of them had hostility on their faces, and Fallingstar could see traces of happiness. Fallingstar knew that he could never turn down young cats. He sighed. "Fine. But I'm not sure the Clan will agree or not." He picked himself off the ground, and quickly trotted towards the high rock, leaping up onto it. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a Clan meeting!" He yowled.

Sky looked at Coalpaw nervously. "what does that mean?" she asked, curious about the Clan customs.

Earth looked at the tom that had just run off and wondered if he and Coalpaw were good friends.

Scorch looked at the leader, and instantly saw someone he respected. I would like to be leader one day, to have everyone's trust.

Fallingstar looked around at the small meeting of his cats. "Today, we are welcoming three cats into the Clan." He beckoned for Sky, Earth and Scorch to come up to the high rock with him.

Dreamstone looked laziliy up, seeing her leader up on the rocks. 'Another meeting?' She sighed, sauntering over to the edge of the rock, sitting down and licking her paws. 'I wonder what happened now.'

Nightowl grinned as he sat next to Dreamstone, watching the three new cats. "I bet they'll make great apprentices!" He said to Dreamstone, slightly confusing her.

Coalpaw nudged Sky. "Go on, the three of you." He whispered encouragingly and glancing at his leader, who stood on the high rock retaining much dignity. "Don't worry." He added, wondering if Sky, Earth and Scorch would need comfort.
