Swiftstar padded out of the leaders den. The sun was just brimming over the treetops, cascading brilliant hues of orange, scarlet and topaz. It contrasted well with the dull greens, grays and black shadows of the trees. I wonder when the kits will be born. With so many kits we will need more warriors. These thoughts made Swiftstar begin to decide which kit; Silentkit, Stormkit and Lionkit, would be best suited for each warrior. I want to be sure that the apprentice won’t pester the mentor too badly. Coming to a conclusion Swiftstar thought Stormkit would be good for Lionshadow, while Silentpaw would be good for Ravenfeather, and Lionkit would be good for Fallenwind.

Leopardheart stalked into the camp after doing an early morning patrol, solo. It feels good to run in the morning. I'm glad that my brother, Swiftstar, allows me to patrol as I please. Since __Clan was just getting started, they were short on warriors so patrols were lacking. But Swiftstar is going to get us going. He fought for this as well. Only he and the medicine cat knew that Swiftstar had merely two lives left. The clan knew that he had lost some but not how many. Scenting the air in camp, it was sweet like honey, when he saw Dewstone dash to the queens den. Will we have new kits by sun high?

Lionshadow stretched and padded out of the warriors den. Another great day in ____Clan. He padded up to Leopardheart and mewed, "would you please come on a patrol with me?" Lionshadow was not used to ordering cats around ashe had only recently became deputy of the clan after the previous had retired.

Willowspark saw Leopardheart and Lionshadow talking about patrols and asked, "Mind if I join you?"

Leopardheart looked at Willowspark and Lionshadow. They both want to come with me? "I can go with you if you'd like." he replied simple. Looking at Swiftstar, who was sitting by the Highrock, Leopardheart saw him wave his tail in a "go on ahead". Turning back to the other two, Leopardheart said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a crow, so can we hunt while we go?" His tummy rumbled in agreement. I wish I could feel comfortable in the warriors den. I don't like waking up before the sun rises. It makes me tired throughout the day. He had done a patrol before the sun rose but felt wonderful enough to go on another patrol this moment.

Lionshadow looked at the tan warrior, "Of course. It's a border patrol so we can hunt for ourselves and if we can bring back some extra prey." He looked around and said,"I don't think most of the other cats are up yet, so let's go."

Willowspark  mewoed her agreement and followed Lionshadow out of the clan.
