Sarah narrowed her eyes at him, anger sparking. "I never said I didn't want to be near you," she protested hotly. "I just don't want to walk around, flaunting off that I'm taken, when I'm not. I'm moving away, remember?" Pain flared through her heart like a bullet.

"I'm not coming back after I get my glove. I'm moving away. Y'know. Away. From people I know." Her eyes flickered with sadness, but she dragged her gaze away from him and walked inside without knocking.
