There once was a day when humans and dragons coexisted peacefully. Humans had nothing to fear, as dragons acted as guardians and protectors of different villages. There was never a more peaceful, prosperous time for either species. But one day, that all ended. One day, the world was baked with fire. Humans were plunged into a war with those who once used to be their kind benefactors without even knowing why they needed to fight. There was war and so, so much blood. And nothing has changed. Neither side has won, but both sides lost. Never was any ground gained, never was any stronghold captured. It is just bloody battle after bloody battle with no relief between.
Hey guys! So it's been a while since I've been able to roleplay (I've been doing a lot of writing in my spare time) so I figured I'd start one up and see how it goes! This will sort of be a dragon hunter roleplay, us playing the humans that are at war with the dragons. Feel free to use magic/fantasy weapons, it's cool by me (as long as they aren't overpowered)
Anyways, I've got some rules, so let's get into this shiz: 1. No Mary-Sues (aka your character ain't perfect, bub) 2. Don't control someone else's character unless they tell you that you can. 3. Try your best to use proper grammar and spelling. I understand that you aren't perfect, but your best is appreciated. 4. Try to get at least 5-10 sentences per post. If nothing is going on, less than that is alright. But normally you should go for that or more (I'll be posting a LOT each time lol) 5. Don't be rude or hateful to anyone, though if you really want your characters to butt heads you can do that (but just characters) 6. Don't try to force a character relationship on someone else, though you can feel free to ask them if you want to (like my character is open to pretty much anyone lol) 7. Have fun, enjoy the story, and let's write!
Anyways, I'll be taking at most five other people for this thing, so post your characters here. If you don't have a format, feel free to use this one:
Name: Age: Gender/Sexuality: Personality: Appearance: Fighting Style (unless you want to be a medic or merchant or something): History (optional): Other:
Anyways, this is going to be my character~ Name: Annabeth Faye Age: 22 Gender/Sexuality: Female, Pansexual Personality: Annabeth isn't shy; she just doesn't speak much. Unless she feels like she has something important to say, she doesn't say it. It's just a part of who she is. It takes a monumental amount of effort to crack her shell, something that no one has ever felt the need to do. Consequently, she's a lone wolf. She's a fierce fighter, fighting for something or someone that she never tells anyone about. She has an odd ruthlessness to her, something you wouldn't expect from someone who looks like she does. But even so, it exists, making her a feared mercenary for any army. On the outside it seems as if she has no moral dilemma doing anything, though that may not always be the case on the inside. She struggles with rather intense depression and the feeling that her life doesn't matter. Appearance (I'll have a picture later): Annabeth is slightly on the taller side, around 5'7" to 5'8". She isn't overly muscular, but years of wielding a sword has given her a fair build. She is fair skinned to very mildly tan, despite years of sunlight. She has red hair, most of which she keeps held back in a bun, but she lets her bangs hang down on the left side of her face. These mostly cover a black tattoo design that goes around her left eye. She has bright blue eyes and light freckles dotting her nose and cheeks. Her face overall looks kind and sweet, a sharp contrast to how most perceive her personality. She normally wears whatever the best armor is that she can get her hands on, though she tries to stay with blue/white pieces if at all possible. Fighting Style: Annabeth mainly uses a mix between magic and swordsmanship. She uses dual short swords as well as a pair of dual pistols in her belt, just in case she needs them. She tends to use lightning fast, direction based attacks, most of which involve sneaking up on an enemy and attacking them from behind or to the side. On top of this, she uses magic mostly just to enhance her sword skills. She knows one main spell to enhance her strength for a period of time that she uses often, as well as a a spell that makes her invisible to detection for a period of time and a few minor repair spells. History: Nobody knows, and maybe they never will Other: She hates stuck up, posh, or uptight people. She feels that since everyone should be doing their part in the war those people are nothing but dead weight.

List of Characters:
Name: Emily Smith (Hates the name Emily, prefers to just be called Em)
Nickname: Em. Only Em. Anything else, and you'll regret it.
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Appearance: Em stands at about 5'11", with long legs and a smaller torso. Her build is thin and lithe, though she is very fit and has lean muscles on her arms, legs, chest, and back. Em weighs around 140-145 pounds.
Starting at the top, her hair is light brown with some blonde highlights. The highlights are natural (mostly from the sun) and her hair reaches just past her shoulder blades in slight waves when it is let down. Usually, it is up in a braid of sorts, whether it be French, Dutch, or the like.
Em has a diamond shaped face, with big, bright, icy blue eyes, much like that of the sky on a winter day. They are framed by long, dark eyelashes, making her eyes much bigger than they seem. She also has a petite button nose, and lips that are small, but always pink and usually chapped. She has fair skin that tans to an olive color, and a splattering of faint freckles all over her face- mostly concentrated around her nose and cheekbones.
Her collarbones are prominent, but her chest is not. Her waist is slim, like the rest of her, and her hips jut out about an inch after that. The rest of her body is the same- slim and fit, with freckles scattered sparsely everywhere. She doesn't have any scars, but her legs and arms seem to always be covered in bruises and scratches.
Personality: Em is adventurous and daring- sometimes too daring. She tends to get ahead of herself. She hates to be left out, and loves getting into whatever her task is. She is very quiet, despite her fetish for being in social situations. She is trusting of everyone she meets, to a bad point, and will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of her loved ones. On the exterior, she tries to play a bad girl, with a tough attitude. She likes to act as if nothing can break her.
Fighting Style: Em's weapon of choice is her lucky spear; a hand-crafted pole that resembles an Elven make. The blade itself is split into three parts; a sharp prong in the middle, and two smaller prongs that curve inward. It is no trident, do not be mistaken, for it is all one piece of steel sharpened to a deadly point. The pole is made of a strong wood, origins unknown. Whatever the case, it is black in color, light as a feather, and strong as a rock. Em has not wrapped anything around the pole, but it is very smooth from years of handling the weapon.
When fighting, the blade is surrounded by a green glow that matches the fierce look in her eyes. It seems to make her actions quicker and more precise rather than stronger, something she strategizes with. In combat, Em is either a whirlwind surrounding you or a sniper from afar, able to throw the blade precision.
Despite her abilities with the spear, she has little skill with other weapons. Also, because of her build, she isn't as strong as many others.
Other: N/A
Name: Aykinthrein Fleetfoot [also goes by “Ayk” since his full name is a bit of a mouthful]
Age: Twenty-five
Gender/Sexuality: Male/Heterosexual
Personality: Ayk is well… Ayk. He is sneaky and conniving, often playing jokes on those who can’t see him when he is doing his thing. Ayk is also very cold and distant, choosing not to speak when he wants to. Though, he can show other emotions around people he knows absolutely. But… that list has only a few.
Appearance: Ayk has dark gray eyes with a startling vibrant ring of gold around his pupils. He has extremely light blonde hair. It is so light that it appears white in certain lighting. Together, the colour of both his eyes and his hair contradicts himself; eyes hard as steel and hair as soft as downy feathers. Ayk stands tall at six foot four and can more surprisingly quick for a man of his height. The male is fairly muscular, covered with lean muscles. He bears two diagonal and parallel scars across his left pectorals. Ayk is also covered with eight tattoos; two on the downward V of his hips, one covering his right shoulder and most of his arm, two on his outer ankle on both legs, two on both his thumbs, and one following down the length of his spine.

[[ All URLs have a space after the Serphirium/]
Fighting Style: Ayk was trained as a thief and an assassin, so he can move very quickly and silently. He has quick fingers and the ability to “disappear”. Having been trained as such, he knows all poisons known to man, human anatomy, has been trained in daggerplay, archery, some sword-work, and hand-to-hand combat. Despite being human, he does have slightly enhanced senses and a small increase in speed/strength/stamina.
Ayk carries two daggers; a seax and a curved blade. The seax he carries in his boot, the curved blade is strapped to his left thigh. He also carries a longsword on his right hip. Ayk has a longbow he keeps in a cloth quiver diagonally across his back. The quiver carries about twelve arrows, however they don’t have any heads on them. He keeps them in a small pouch on his belt.
History: Ayk’s family was poor and lived in a ramshackled little house in a crime-ridden slum outside a major human city. When he was about five, the dragons burned his slum and subsequently killed his mother, father, and little sister in a housefire in which he was out playing “pickpocket” in the city with a small group of boys around his age. He had managed to hide during the dragon attack, and then fell off the “radar” as it were only to reappear at the present time with the full knowledge of how to kill without being seen.
Other: He likes to read in whatever spare time he can afford.
Name: Annabeth Faye
Age: 22
Gender/Sexuality: Female, Pansexual
Personality: Annabeth isn't shy; she just doesn't speak much. Unless she feels like she has something important to say, she doesn't say it. It's just a part of who she is. Other: She hates stuck up, posh, or uptight people. She feels that since everyone should be doing their part in the war those people are nothing but dead weight.
Name: Arka Ayudo Age: 18 Gender/Sexuality: Female, Asexual Personality: Arka is a very kind, generous individual with an uncanny green thumb. She is talkative and friendly, and always wants to help. Her opinion on dragons is an unpopular one, as she believes fighting them is not the solution. However, Arka is willing to be on the battle team to help as a medic. Appearance: Standing at 4'9 with rounded features and a bright face, Arka appears much younger than she actually is. She has dark brown skin, brown eyes, and short black hair in tight curls. Her usual outfit is the simple white gown, green cloak, black boots, and gold pin of her class. She often adorns herself with flowers, and always carries a bag full of bandages, herbs, and other emergency supplies. Fighting Style: Although her class is not a fighting one, Arka can defend herself in an emergency. Her weapon of choice is to run or try to negotiate, but she is skilled with a knife. History (optional): Other: Because she refuses to fight the dragons and even talks of trying to befriend them again, her loyalty is often question. Arka is also terrified of water, and cannot swim.

[Oh yeah, I got a reference image by the way, in case you didn't see And I'll start, but I can't promise I'll be any good xD Also, I write in first person, so I hope that's not an issue. I've had it be an issue before.]
Time always seems to pass so much more slowly when something is being waited on, does it not? In my experience that is always the case. No matter what I do, no matter how many times I pace back and forth or absentmindedly doodle in the air, absolutely nothing makes time go faster than a slow crawl.
That was what I was experiencing; the crawl of time as it pressed ever onward, trying its best to go as agonizingly slow as possible. I was waiting to meet with the General of the army I was currently serving under. Times had been slow, and there hadn't been much fighting going on, which was why I had started to fill out resignation papers so I could move on to the next task. I was never okay with the quiet lull between battles. It made me itch and crave to fight, just so that I could be doing something with my time. Peace was too boring for my tastes.
But as soon as he caught word of it, the General begged for me to stay. He told me that he would have a special mission just for me that would keep me entertained for the time being. I had reluctantly agreed to listen to him, as it really couldn't hurt me that much to at least hear him out. At any rate he seemed overly desperate to keep me, which was always a nice burst of reassurance.
And that was why I was sitting in the middle of that tent, trying to pass the time. I cast a few spells here and there, convincing myself it was for practice when really it was just a way to stay entertained. Other than that I just sat on the dirt floor with my knees pressed to my chest, peering over them and at the entrance to the tent, silently praying that something would happen to end the abysmal quiet.
Eventually my prayers were answered. In walked the General with his ridiculous plumed hat and his gaudy manner of walking and talking. He was trying my patience, as I so desperately wanted to stand up and punch the gleeful smirk off of his pretty little decorated face. But I stayed where I was sitting, concealing my annoyance with a look of disinterest instead.
"Hello, Miss Annabeth. May I call you Anna?" He asked politely. I shot him a death glare that very clearly said "No. No, and I will murder you if you ever call me that again." I could tell he understood.
He coughed awkwardly, shifting from foot to foot. "Anyways, I'm here to tell you about the mission. I think this will interest you greatly! There is a supposed nest of baby dragons a ways away from where we are now, across a large forest filled with dangerous monsters. In an ideal world we would go take them out as younglings, but of course these monsters are some that only good warriors could take care of. That's where you come in! We would reward you handsomely if you could accomplish this treacherous task for us."
I nodded, smiling widely as I did. To be frank, it sounded like a ton of fun. "So you agree?" He asked. I nodded once more, standing up and shaking his hand.
"Then it's settled." He said with a smirk. "Oh, and I forgot to mention, this mission is impossible alone. I'll be assigning you a partner or maybe two, and I assure you they will be the best I can offer." My eyes went wide at this statement.
"No way." I said, crossing my arms and glaring at the man in front of me. "No way in hell, you old hag." I snarled, my lips curling up as I did so.
He shook his head. "But Annabeth, you already agreed! Anyways I must be going, tata for now!" He grinned as he left the tent, waving behind him.
If looks could kill, he would be dead on the floor in front of me. But as it was, it seemed like the only thing I could do was wait for fate to deal with my as it wished.

[It's not what I'm used to, but it's no problem! Also, I think Em's gonna have a little grudge towards Annabeth, just to make things interesting. If you don't think it's a good idea, please tell me :)] Emily Smith When Em had first heard of the mission, she had agreed to it before he could finish his sentence. A solo mission through a treacherous forest? Done. A potential kidnapping of some dragons? Done. Em had shooed the General out of her purple hued tent so she could gather her things, much as she had done countless times before. This time was different. "Smith!" Em rolled her eyes. She could picture the General just outside the flaps of the tent, tapping his leather shoe on the grass as if it were a big deal. "This time, I'm assigning you a partner or two. Possibly three." Em froze, bewildered. She stuck her head out of the tent, hazel eyes staring fiercely into the General's orbs. A partner? Excuse me, Mr. General sir, but I work alone. Assign me a partner, and I'll leave them in the dust- you know I will. I've been working for you for six years- you know I work alone. But that wasn't what she said- just the first part. "A partner?" The General smiled, knowing that he had caught her attention. "A partner, dear. Possibly two. This is, after all, a dangerous mission." Em blinked. "Yeah, I know. Dangerous. That's why I agreed to do it." The General shook his head. "You will need a partner, I assure you. In fact-" He glanced over his shoulder. "I know for a fact that miss Annabeth Faye will be accompanying you." Em stuck her head pack inside the tent and groaned to herself. Not only was she partnered, but she was partnered with Annabeth Faye. "Sir, I have to refuse," Em called, straining to keep her voice even. "You already are enlisted, Smith. I'm afraid I cannot assign you to another campaign. If I were you, I would go talk to Annabeth about any others you'd like to enlist." "Very well, I will do that." Em pleaded, hoping for him to leave. "But you have to remember, you're leaving tomorrow at dawn." "Fine with me!" "The adult dragons are on a hunting trip- you must make this quick if you are to capture the hatchlings!" Em grunted, and didn't look outside her tent until she heard the General's retreating footsteps. Better now than later to talk to Annabeth, Em reasoned. She shrugged on her leather armor and exited the tent.

Yey~
Here is my character.
Also, I ship out for BMT on April 26. If this rp is still active by the time I have to leave, I can make it so Ayk gets captured or something and leave it open-ended so it is uncertain whether he is still alive or not.
Also, if rp is still active when I get out of that and tech school, then I can make it so that Ayk makes it out alive.
~xXx~
Thanks! Ayk appreciates the love.
Now I need to figure out how to insert Ayk into the mission since he isn't in the military... :/

[Sorry for disappearing. It's been a stressful week. Anyways, I love the character, Dragon And the grudge thing is fine, but Annabeth doesn't really know anyone, so it's gonna be one-sided. Though she has a grudge on everyone, really xD]
I plopped back down onto the dirt floor of the tent, frustrated and annoyed. I hated working with people almost as much as I hated not working at all. People had a tendency to get on me nerves, a very easy task. Nearly anything could set me off and make me explosive, especially lazy coworkers. Even as a child I had always hated things that I was meant to do in groups, mostly because I ended up carrying the load of multiple people. It had just never been worth it for me.
I let out a long sigh and laid back on the ground, sprawling out on the dirt beneath me. My fingers mindlessly drummed on the ground as I thought about my options. I could easily leave without a trace in the night, and I wouldn't have to worry about being grouped. To be fair, I could leave for the dragon's nest and take it out by myself as a rogue just to say that I did.
But for some reason, I wasn't feeling very rebellious that day. I was pretty tired of arguing with everything that moved; after a lifetime, that stuff got old. I figured that for just once it wouldn't hurt to stop causing trouble. I knew I'd probably regret that decision when I was in the middle of a hostile forest with people I'd likely end up loathing, but I figured it was the best course of action I could take.
With that in mind, I stood up for my spot on the floor and made my way out of the tent so that I was under the open sky of the day. Moping inside wouldn't do me any sort of good anyways. I needed to get a move on with my day, which was already more than half over. Perhaps I'd even run into the general again and try to convince him to let me go on the mission alone, or maybe something or someone else of interest. I didn't really quite know; all I knew was that I felt like walking, and that was that.

He was sitting inside a grand tent in a sea of tents, his feet her propped up on a table containing maps and mission orders. As he reclined further into the plush chair, he flipped a page in a book he was reading as he waited for this General to return. He had all but given up hope that the other male would return, when speak of the devil, the General walked through the tent flaps.
The male in mottled leather, grays, blacks, and browns, was suddenly on his feet and in front of the desk and holding the General – who appeared very effeminate – in a solid headlock.
“Hullo, General. I have a couple of questions for you,” he spoke gruffly. When he noticed the General’s eyes moving, he looked where he did. Two bodies – soldiers – lay on the ground motionless and very pale. “Ah. Don’t worry about them. They’re not dead.” He tilted his head, a shock of white-blond hair falling in the way of one gray-golden eye. “Well… at least not yet. First…”
It took the mottled male a little longer than he would’ve liked to get the information he needed. With satisfactory answers to every question, he started to tighten his headlock around the General. Enough to incapacitate, not kill.
“What’s your name, I know you are no soldier in this army,” the General wheezed.
The mottled male paused, gray-golden eyes narrowing in consideration. “Aykinthrein Fleetfoot,” he replied simply before applying enough pressure to the General’s windpipe to make the other male go limp. Ayk dropped the dead weight and shook out his arms. Then, exited the tent through the rear flap and disappeared into the sea of tents.

Em
Where had she last seen this girl? Was it to the west- no, of course not. Em specifically remembered seeing a new face by the north wing of tents. Trying her luck, Smith changed her path and set her sights on the north wing. There were slightly fewer tents here, but still an ample number to get lost in.
Em glanced behind her for a quick second to check than the General wasnt near her as she walked behind a row of tents. If she had to look at his stupid smile once more, she might punch the guy. As Em turned her head back around, she ran smack dab into a wall. As Em stumbled, she couldnt help but notice that the wall was very man-like.
No, not a wall. Merely a man dressed head to toe in a mixture of leather and metal armor- yet another new face. This one had whiteish blonde hair, though most of it was covered by a dark hood,
"Watch it, " Em warned, finally regaining her footing. "Run into too many people, and they might just try to fight back." Even though she had a serious tone, her ex pression was bright and her eyes clear. She couldnt help but notice a brghly colored plume on the ground, half tucked under the edge of a tent. Em subconsiously reached down and plucked it off the ground with long fingers before bringing it up to her face.
Definitely one from the General's ridiculous hat. Em twirled it in her fingers before glancing back up at the man, raising an eyebrow. " Did the General happen to pass through here? Could you direct me to the opposite direction he went?, I need to speak with my partner about our...." She paused for a second, realizing who she was talking to. "Our, er, task."
As far as she knew, this mission was top secret. Em already had one other she had to drag along on this mission. If this guy got too nosy, he might want to tag along- and Em would not tolerate that.
