((Um...I don't think Animagi are as rare as five per century, and believing so is unrealistic.  Marauders were each animagi, as is McGonagall, as well as Rita Skeeter.  I'm am dead certain that there are several others not mentioned as main characters, but as those were all quite in the same century I think having two at the school is fine.  (And that's JUST England.  Keep in mind, wizards are all over the world.)  Though, I do believe our two current teachers are very, very similar.

Also, I don't mind at all if you take Headmaster.  I'll just make him Transfig Prof and Head of Hufflepuff.  It fits him better anyways!  I just think we need more male adults at the school currently!  Hopefully when I finish my guy everyone will love him, because with what I know of him now, he will be very fun.))

((Finally!  Here is my Transfiguration Professor, and Head of Hufflepuff! Hope everyone likes him.  I'm also contemplating doing a female professor...but I don't know if she should be Charms, Herbology, or the Flight Instructor...So, someone tell me what she should be!))

Name:  Alaricus Winikus
Age: He’s so not telling!
Gender:  Male

Year: Professor/Staff
House: Hufflepuff Head
Personality:  If he were to be summed up in a single word, anyone would be able to say the word after spending just a few brief moments with him.  Vain.  He lives his life in vanity, and believes himself to beautiful, focusing on his beauty beyond most else.  Self-confident and self-*censored*ured, there isn't a single being alive that will get him to second guess himself or his looks, and especially not his abilities.  Beyond his vanity, there is more to his being and his soul, but it's hidden, or at least obscured, by the magnificence of his wondrous appearance.  He's a very caring person, and wants to help others shine themselves, always wanting them to believe in themselves the way he believes in himself.  Though he does find himself to be the cream of the crop, he has no issues with helping others to be beautiful, to find their inner beauty, or to become the best that they can be.  Honestly, no matter how beautiful they are, they will never truly compare, so why should he be worried?  He is extremely kind and considerate, a perfect gentleman who will care for his students as if they are each a special child that could make use of his guidance.  Though he may seem fickle (many students believe that simply complimenting him will get them good grades), he is really a rather strict teacher, who demands only the best of his students.  He has his own way of cutting down those that bully or try to impose on other students, and tries to coax out the pretty little shy things that hardly speak in cl*censored*.  To be quite frank, Akaricus seems like a rather simple and shallow being up front, but he has a great many layers to his personality that it would nearly be impossible for anyone to completely understand him and his ways.
History: Much to the surprise of many, Alaricus was not the golden child of his family.  Two older sisters would take the wind out of any young boy's sails!  Especially sisters as talented as his, one a renowned witch working with the repopulation of endangered species focusing mainly on the golden snidget, and the second a very prominent witch in the Ministry of Magic.  Even his parents were wealthy and famous, his mother the head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation and his father a well known Beater for the Puddlemere United quidditch team.  Greatness was expected of all the family, their blood pure, their abilities strong.  At first it appeared that Alaricus would break the chain!  He simply didn't seem to bother with magic as a child, far more concerned with fashion and how he looked to the outside world, both magical and muggle alike.  His parents nearly feared that he would spend his life as a squib until he received an acceptance letter to Hogwarts.  His education was a very fickle thing.  Defense Against the Dark Arts was tolerable, but History of Magic was completely unbearable.  Herbology was too dirty, and Divinition was simply too finicky for him.  Potions were too specific, though there were a few he mastered simply to have mastered them!  Charms and Transfiguration were his favorites.  He adored both, and quite literally lived for them.  To charm things was wondrous, and to change the appearance of something was beyond his wildest dreams.  Excelling in those two cl*censored*es, he was able to become a professor at Hogwarts, though he picked Transfiguration above Charms, as it simply came more naturally to him.  Shortly after, he became the Head of Hufflepuff, a position he hadn't genuinely been seeking but enjoyed.  He had been a Hufflepuff, and the color combination was his favorite.
Pet: Magical Familiar yellow roan Ferret by the name of Icarus.  Being a Familiar, he is more intelligent than any normal ferret, and is extremely loyal to Alaricus.  He can even be seen to have a personality and being all his own, as well as some magical properties.  He knows and understands Alaricus, and often does errands for him, commonly without being given the task at hand.
Wand: 13 ½ inch Elm with a Demiguise Hair for the core, pliable with a decorated shaft.
Other:  He adores muggle music.  It can often be heard in his office, and any who seek out the origin will find it coming from a pretty golden statue of a siren that sometimes dances to the music herself.  (Lady Gaga seems to be the preference.)
Looks:   Beautiful.  He has smooth, pale skin without a single blemish.  His hair is long and silky, in a shade of soft gold that glitters in the light.  His eyes are a strange mix of blue and green that seem to shift beautifully depending on his mood or his clothing.  He is tall and thin, somewhat like a model, and is always dressed impeccably in beautiful colors and fashionable designer robes.  He even accessorizes, though usually with magical jewelry, sometimes items that he has transfigured himself.

((First off, I'll a.ssume you mean Alaricus, rather than his ferret.  Personalities are what make characters Mary Sue/Gary Stew-ish.  His looks fit his character.  I'm rather insulted, actually.  I put time and effort into the whole character, did not make him Gary Stew-ish, and have actual text for the looks.  Honestly, I think you are being a bit rude criticizing, espeically when all you have are pictures...

If you do mean the ferret, whose appearance I did not type out much, it's not exactly common for a ferret to be yellow (extremely rare and that's not the official color name anyways), but I figured as he is a magical familiar some creative freedoms could be made.  Especially considering there are purple toads and orange snails in this world.))

((No, this is the definition of a mary sue. Someone who is flawless in either looks or persona. I love your personailty, I really do, I just think that having him have no blemishes, the coolest eyes, awesome fashion sense etc. is pushing it. I am sorry if you think I am being rude, but I am just pointing out the truth. I love tyour character otherwise.

((They're not the coolest eyes.  It's a common feature on regular people, to have eyes that are sometimes blue and green that change.  No joke.  And he works hard on his looks, so why on earth wouldn't he look good?  His looks fit his character.  His character is not a Gary Stew.  If I added in the fact that his physical perfection is due to hours spent and not naturally blessed, would that make him seem less Gary Stew-ish?  Because that is as intended.  He works at it, and makes himself appear accordingly.  There are people like this in the real world too XD  Many of them were the popular kids in high school.))

((I disagree with this.  Some people have great skin.  Some are born with it, some work at it, and others have a mixture of both.  There are defintely some people out there that I would say have "no blemishes".  Add in the fact that this is a magical world, and blemishes seem even less necessary for him to be realistic.  Even beyond this, it's an exaggeration, sure.  But I doubt for a second that anyone will ever actually see Alaricus with a blemish, so I still find the statement an accurate deion of him.))

(("Blemishes are marks or areas of discoloration on the skin. In some cases, acne such as whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples may also be referred to as blemishes." I believe entirely that there are people who do not have these, especially in a magical world.  Not saying that he'll never have a cut, but these heal over time.  It is not at all necessary for a person to have a mark on their skin to make them realistic.))

((--If you are looking for flaws in him there are plenty there, also.  He looks relatively feminine, especially considering he focuses on his looks so much.  He is not muscular as many men prefer to be, and women prefer their men to be.  Some people prefer other colors of hair, or other colors of eyes, and some people believe that darker skin is more exotic and attractive.  There is no such thing as "the perfect look", and I believe that he looks perfect for who he is, and still find that it fits his character.))

((I honestly don't care, I was just pointing it  out and yes, I do only have pictures, but I am perfectly capable of writing deions, but it is easier for me to be able to look at a picture. I just don't like it when there are characters that seem to look perfect, even if they are like a model and most models have blemeshes. Unless they are an angel child, they probably have some quirk. I am just saying. But anyway.... We'll see what Shaste says. xD))

((Quirks in most models aren't necessarily blemishes.  I think the word "blemish" was rather unfairly picked upon really XD  Eyebrows can be uneven, people can have a slightly larger, smaller, flatter, rounder nose.  High or low cheekbones, dimples.  Lips can be thin or plump, eyes can be wide, narrow, almond, spaced apart or too close together.  There are enough products out there, in the real world and probably more so in a wizarding world, that would allow individuals to cover, care for, and even remove "blemishes".  No blemish =/= perfection.  Just means really good skin.

Just arguing my point <3  Even if you disagree <3))

((Okay, my last character!  At least for a while...I think this is plenty XD  Only thing I'm missing is a Gryffindor, and I don't mind lacking in that area.  Anywho, hopefully you like her.  She's semi-celeb, considering she was on a professional team for a while (even if that team is only mildly good, still professional), and is nervous about teaching.  This would be her first year at Hogwarts too, so I guess the former Flight Instructor has retired.  I figured Flight/Quidditch knowledge would be best for this position and created her accordingly!))

Name:  Polyxena Pembroke
Age: 25
Gender:  Female

Year: Flight Instructor
House: She was Hufflepuff
Personality:  Poly is a chipper little lady.  She is always happy, always bubbly, and can be quite annoyingly optimistic.  She doesn't appear to hold a lot of self-confidence, and tends to be nervous about her new position, but always puts on a brave face and a stern smile to take on the day!  It's her spunk that has to get her through the day with so many students, many of them bigger than she is, and many who will become better wizards and witches than she is!  She takes pride in her students, and enjoys her job, but her heart is in exactly what she teaches.  Flying!  She loves the freedom of flying, and hopes to train new students to understand the joys of flight.  She is determined to do her job well, especially given her inexperience.  She hopes to be of a.ssistance to her students, as well as the staff at Hogwarts, and will put her best foot forward to do whatever is asked of her!  Unfortunately, flying is about all she's capable of, beyond training and managing the Quidditch games for the school.  Basically, she has become a bit of an athletics organizer for Hogwarts, and often works with the Heads of House to manage the Quidditch field.  Poly, though talented in the art of flying and the sport of Quidditch, is only average -though lucky- with anything else that is commonplace in the wizarding world.
History: Poly is one of three children to a rather less than extraordinary pureblood family.  Her mother is a regular worker for the Ministry of Magic for the Department of Magical Transportation, and her father a decent herbologist who works hard to supply the wizards and witches of their area the more difficult to produce products.  Her elder sister works for the Owl Post in their area, and her brother is a struggling musician striving to make a name for himself, and not doing very well.  Of the lot of them, her sister had been a Ravenclaw, her brother a Gryffindor, so Poly kept the antics going when she was placed in Hufflepuff.  School was difficult for her, and she had to spend time with her sister and other Ravenclaws who sought to help her with her spells.  She was lucky, most certainly the lucky sort, and could guess the correct answers to tests, but could not really produce the spells expected for an individual with her scores.  She tried, but often fell short.  The only place where she excelled was flying.  Her first year, she was easily seen to be one of the best of the flying bunch.  Her second year she was given a "bench spot" on the Hufflepuff team, though she quickly took over when her skill proved to be well enough.  When it came to Quidditch, she could play any part and do extremely well.  Though the best spots to place her were Seeker or Chaser, as she was very quick and agile, given her small size.  There were whispers of her being given a spot on a team when she graduated, and indeed she did play a few years with the Holyhead Harpies, but flying was her pa.ssion, not her profession.  She stepped down from tournament play at a young age, and was surprised to have the offer of becoming the Flight Instructor at Hogwarts.  She took it gladly, and is excited, and nervous, for her first year at the school!
Pet:  As many adult wizards have, Poly has the companionship of an owl who takes her letters and fetches her things, as well as provides comfort and friendship.  Snidget -so named for the beast that influenced the creation of the golden snitch- is a medium sized Eagle Owl.  Quite the contrary to Poly's constant smile, Snidget has a never ending look of disapproval or irritation, and will likely have to help Poly put on a more serious face for the students.  As if any of them could truly ignore those vivid orange-red eyes glaring at them.
Wand: 8 ½ inch Lignum Vitae with Ashwinder Ash for the core, springy with a bent shaft.
Other: None that I can think of at this time.
Looks:  Poly is a slight little witch, not quite reaching five full feet in height.  Her small size makes her quick on her feet, and easy to lose in a crowd, though with the help of a faithful broomstick, she will never truly have to worry about being unseen.  She is very proportionately small, and though some may have teased her in the past about being part goblin, her features are pleasant.  Though she doesn't quite have a woman's figure, she is extremely feminine, and wears robes befitting any woman, black and flowing and silky, over dresses with rounded skirts that cover her under-stockings.  Though, she will change to trousers for flying, she does enjoy the way skirts flutter about her.  Her hair is a pretty enough shade, light brown with hints of red and blonde, though it is cut relatively short so that it won't blow in her face terribly while she flies, she will still pin it back with various barrettes and bands.  Her eyes are a pretty green shade, and tend to show exactly what she's feeling.  She has one noticeable scar on her right eyebrow from an unfortunate blow from a bludger during a tournament game, one of the few she was unable to finish.
