Jack had been wandering for days since the forest fire. He needed a place to rest. Then, he heard a group of wolves eating, he slowly crawled on his stomach and hide in the bushes next to the wolves. But as he crawled into the bushes he snapped a branch loudly.

Denali yelped as he was nipped, and tucked his tail with the flattening of his ears. He was right- Fisher was definitely a higher rank than him. He still knew he would be omega, but was fine with that. Denali stirred as he looked up to probably the most dominant two wolves, and just nipped at their heels to show respect. Then, he heard a large snap of a branch and his ears pricked to that direction. "twigs don't snap by themselves..." he said under his breath.

Shadow watched the pup as he showed her and her brother respect. Then she heard the twig snap and a voice and began a deep throated growl. Exiting the cave she saw the wolf,he looked about her age,and was trespassing on her territory. She walked towards him,head held high,tail straight out,ears pulled back on her head,and teeth shining in the faint light of the tree's shade. Looking meaner than ever as she stood in front of the intruder. "What are you doing in our territory?",she demanded.

Aidan had stopped eating and looked up at Madera. The look on his face was a thoughtful one; a decision making one. Aidan stated up, confused, and went to entertain himself with a stick. His paws threw it up into the air and as it fell, he pawed at it. His eyes were wide and his ears were pricked straight forward, fully alert to his twig. He scratched at it and flipped it around for a while, entertaining himself perfectly.
Denali flattened his ears and growled, his teeth partly showing. He held his head low and squinted his eyes.

Madera looked at Aidan, who was now playing with a stick. Seeing the young pup cheerfully enjoying such a simple game made him feel bad for thinking of abandoning him. Surely he could teach him something to help with the hunt. Have him stand over rabbit holes or chase prey towards him so he could kill it. " Alright, well let's move on. I want to eat some real food before the night comes. " Madera said as he stood up and trotted in the opposite direction of the barks and howls he heard earlier.

Tide was in his cave sitting alone, he was bored talking to himself.He spotted a little deer limping so he thought this could be his chance to eat some food, but when he went closer to the limping deer it kicked him right on the nose that kick was so hard that he howled so strong that the whole forest can hear him and then fainted.

Madera paused and looked around as a loud howl rang through the forest. Actually...it sounded more like a yelp. A yelp mixed with a yowl. He wasn't certain, but it sounded like some other wolf had jut been hurt by something, and pretty badly. He made a mental note to avoid that area until the danger was gone. There was no need to take any unnecessary risks when he was starving and traveling with a pup. He put his head back to a more relaxed position and continued forward, this time a slightly faster pace.

Jack stood up slowly but crouched looking at Shadow, "I'm sorry." he said "But I'm the only one in my family to survive the forest fire, all my friends are dead, I'm all alone I've been walking for days but now, this is the first time I've found this many wolves." Jack stepped back once and padded the ground "May I stay here? at least for one night. I'm really tired, I've been walking for days."

With that Shadow's tail dropped and she quit snarling as her ears went back to their normal place on her head. "Fine,but only for ONE night.",she agreed,then heard the pain filled howl of another wolf,but ignored it. Those howls normally meant trouble and she didn't feel like having to fight something at the moment. "Come in,but don't even think about trying to hurt anyone,unless you want your pelt ripped off.",she warned and then turned and walked inside,brushing her tail over Denali's mouth to signal for him to stop snarling.
