~mean while
(in a land far faraway, but not really)
Atop a small pile of crumbled cloths, Kay tipped out the last draw on to the floor.
She knelt down rummaging through the spilled cloths, searching for her swim wear, her knees slowly sinking in to the pile below her.
" No luck" she mumbled to her self, tipping back to sit on her heels.
"uh im just a scatter brain"
Closing her eyes she tilted her head to the ceiling and rubbed her neck, all this rummaging was making her sore.
she opened eyes and let out a short sharp bark of surprise and amazement.
Lo and behold, hanging from her top-hat-shaped light shade was her bikini.
She jumped up, stretching up towards her swim wear, coming up on tip toes to add a few essential inches.
Squinting and stretching she finally snagged one of the bikini tops black straps and tugged it free, the bottoms falling after.
With a snort of triumph she quickly changed, putting on the swim wear under her cloths, and head out the door locking it behind her.
She grabbed her bike and rolled out of her drive way, swinging left towards Renas house.
Kay loved late night bike rides, the roads clear and quiet, no one in sight apart from their
silhouetted forms behind closed blinds.
Despite the urge to slow down or take a detour, she kept up her pace, knowing that she was already late.
Swinging around another bend she stopped out side of Renas, expecting to see her there in the cold, tapping her feet and looking at her watch.
Yet, her street was as quiet and as empty as the rest.
A cool wind ruffled her short red hair as Kay pulled out her phone and typed in Renas number,
the ringing seemed to go on for hours with no answer.
With out a seconds thought Kay started to peddle again, turning in the direction of the lake.
even if they hadn't left with out her she could meet Rena and the others there when they turned up.
This time she enjoyed the ride, and the breeze in her face.
