A soft hoot of a forlorn and meloncholy owl sounded in harmony with the rest of the world of the darkness. Night had fallan once again on the castle of the dark as it did every day for with the day, the night would always consume the light and then the light the dark. It was neverending, the rising of the sun and the path of the moon. Yet, each struggled to keep the other at bay. There were even times in the year that the days were longer than the nights or the nights were longer than the days. Perhaps then, the sun and the moon had gained the upper hand but it never stayed that way.

Raven slipped trough the dark courtyard of the castle, hoping to be alone with her thoughts. Only the small light that was trapped in her necklace gave away her position but she need not fear. This castle was her home for as long as she could remember, a lonely and hard home, but a home none the less. It was difficult at times, knowing just what the Dark did to the ones of the Light, watching it and still having to be part of it all. Raven never actually helped with any of the attacks, she would not give up her powers for that, but it was just as hard knowing what they were all doing. Not that the Light were innocent of wrong either but at least they were fighting for what was theirs.

Raven shook her head slowly and looked up at the wanning moon above her in the navy and black sky. Only four stars could be seen tonight by the untrained eye, but Raven knew there were countless others just hidden from her view. As she walked, the soft pad of footsteps followed behind her, not threateningly but just accepting. Her familiar went with her every time she took these walks. It to had become routine. Raven had come to expect those sounds but the ones she heard a moment later were not part of it.

Two voices, speaking in just a little ways off... once that should have been recognizable but weren't. One voice that Raven had heard before in the span of her years at the castle, but couldn't fit the voice to the name or the face.... and the other was one she didn't recognize at all. Sighing, she looked around her again, knowing that the only way back to her bedroom was past those two voices. It would have been easy to do a spell to teleport her there or make herself invisible but..... Raven just didn't do it. Couldn't actually. She was a firm believer in not using magic if she could make without it. So with a dreading heart, she began to walk foreward again, the lithe yellow and cream wolf by her side.

[Tld, I wasn't planning on having the Light's that close to the Dark fortress, maybe in a village a little way off...?]

The night seemed silent as Tybalt padded softly though the dense underbrush of the forest the surrounded the Dark castel. It had been a warm afternoon when he began walking and as it reached dusk, having had no urge to return for the evening meal, he simply continued strolling, Peronell draped lazily across his shoulders, acting as a scarf against the cold wind night brought with it. The only noise was Tybalt's breathing and the soft hooting of a far away owl, even the snapping of a brittle twig seemed deafening in the hush that had settled over the forest.

It was totally quiet. Too quiet in Tybalt's opinion.
"Can you sense anyone here Peronell?" He questioned the dozing cat, who raised her head slightly to sniff the air and made a low growling sound in her throat the sounded rather like 'No'.
"Okay, if you're sure..." He added with a quizical look at his feline companion.
Peronell nodded her head once and continued to doze.

'Damn lazy cat...'
Tybalt thought, crossing his arms and glaring a the deer trodden path ahead of him. As he walked deeper into the heart of the forest the trees grew thicker, allowing for very little moonlight to seep between the leaves, Tybalt was having trouble seeing the way forward. With a quick motion of his skilled hands and a few mutterd words, an orb of glowing gold hovered about a foot from the redheaded wizard.

"Follow."
He commanded the ball of light, continuing along the path with the orb bobbing above his head, lighting the way.

Hebe bit her lip, and was about to deliver a stinging retort back to Noah, when he clamped her mouth shut with his own hand, his dark, shadowy orb vanishing into the trees.
"Shut up." He hissed. Hebe struggled and clawed at Noah's hand, making him yelp and release her. He glared at Hebe vehemently.
"What was that for?" She asked, eyes narrowing. Zekiro, who had fallen from Hebe's arms during the short struggle, had made his way to sit beside Lyra, strangely unafraid of the terrifying cheetah.
"Lyra. She hears something." Noah replied. They both looked at Lyra, who was oddly quiet. Her orange eyes glowed, staring straight ahead. "She sees, and hears, something. Might be another witch. Or a human." He sighed.
Hebe squinted her eyes. "I see nothing."
"'Course you don't, you idiot. Lyra's senses were altered. They're much keener than yours, but that thing must be close. Zekiro seems to have picked it up too." True enough, Hebe's black fox was staring at the imaginary path Lyra's eyes had made. He growled, though the cheetah remained stonily silent.

Suddenly the small brown tabby lept from Tybalt's shoulders on to the path in front, staring intently off to the right and hissing.
"You would sense something right after you told me it was safe, wouldn't you..." The young wizard rolled his eyes at Peronell, bending down and giving his familiar a comforting stroke. She turned her head and shot him a venomous look as though saying 'at least I acctually told you...'

Tybalt waved his hand dismissively and muttered an encantation, putting out the light orb.
"We had better continue, who ever it is, they'll be able do us no harm." He smirked, clicking his fingers and creating a spark. Peronell sighed in exasperation at her master's showing off.
Tybalt took another step or two in the directing Peronell had been staring, jesturing for the tabby to jump back on to his shoulders. The cat gladly obliged, curling around her master's neck, still staring in the direction he was to go in.

'I bet it's some stupid human who lost their way in the woods...'
He thought, rolling his eyes as they continued walking. Soon, he spotted a small clearing, two people standing near te center and a pair of shadowy shapes at their feet. Tybalt couldn't make out faces from where he stood but one of the figures was clearly female.

Slowly, he continued towards the pair, he could now make out the shapes at thir feet as animal, one distinctly larger than the other. The bigger one seemed to glow with an odd orgae light, which indicated to Tybalt that the the two humans probably practiced magic and this was one of their familiars. Peronell began to hiss once more as they stepped into the clearing, leaving the shadows completely.
"Greetings, I am Tybalt Athalos Fendrell, who might you be?" He asked, not recognising the pair from the castel.

Raven let out a soft sigh as she followed the path of tiled bricks that trailed along the pathway. The entire courtyard was wrapped in these pathways, some ones used more often then others. The more commonly used pathways had trees and plants growing of to the side of them and even in the dark, it was still possible to see the wind shifting the leaves around.

As they approached Dannai got tense as well, though Raven was sure it wasn't because she was shy. The wolf wasn't one to be afraid of anything or anyone, though she wasn't one to react to things like this either. Maybe something about the people ahead got her worried. Perhaps they had other animals with them.... Dannai prefered to stay away from other familiars because of what happened to her the second year after she was fully grown. It had happened by accident but someone had mistaken her for their own familiar and had cast a practice spell on her. It won't have been harmful to the other familiar but it just so happened that the spell wasn't good on canines. Dannai had been in the infirmary for weeks. Now Raven had noticed how she prefered to keep away from other animals, just so that she wasn't mistaken for them again.

Rounding the corner of the castle, she peered ahead. Her keen eyesite could just make out four forms in the dark, placed by one of the larger oaks of the castle. No light was around them, though Raven could figure that they could see her..... her necklace would give enough light away for them to make out her features. Her black hair was tied up in a bun, with stray strands falling across her face but as soon as she spotted the people, her eyes dropped to the ground, making the color of them unseeable.

She just kept walking, Dannai by her side.

"Get out of here!" Came a shout from inside the deep forest. It was Rowen, who was warding off a visitor she did not want to encounter- a wolf. And something told her it was not a friendly wolf; one that belonged to the dark side, that is. Rowen was not a fan of dogs, besides her own, Cody. Cody was strong, stubborn, and protective, and you'd bet he was trying his hardest to scare off this animal that was scaring his master. Unfortunately, the wolf wasn't frightened by the greyhound. The wolf lunged at Cody, who instinctively lunged back. The two fought and bit and scratched until one of them fell to the ground with many battle wounds. Rowen at first couldn't tell which one had lost, but soon she realized it was her dog, whimpering and bleeding on the ground. The wolf stood there triumphantly. "Shoo, Shoo! Get out of here, you mutt!" Rowen created a ball of light and threw it at the wolf, who cringed at the brightness and ran deeper into the woods.

"Cody, boy," Rowen crouched down to the dog, gently prodding over his cuts and sores. "Don't worry, we can fix you up, 'kay, boy?" Cody looked like he had used all of his strength when he licked his master's cheek.

[[Lake, do you ever intend to post Ragnok's intro?]]

Hebe and Noah froze, while Zekiro's growling became louder. Lyra's snout had twitched into a faint snarl, glaring at the tabby that clung onto the newcomer.
"My name is Noah." He said quietly, not wanting to give the stranger his last name. Noah elbowed Hebe to do the same.
"Uhmm... And I'm Hebe." She yelped, glaring at Noah. He sighed.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" He asked, giving Tybalt a suspicious stare.

Raven glanced up at the new voice, her eyes making out the shape and even slight details of the pair of three that now stood near the tree. Freaking out, she kept her head down hoping to slip by unnoticed by the three though it was very unlikely. No matter how much she would like it, Raven rarely went unnoticed. Whether it was the adults commenting on her shyness, or the teachers on her lessons, the girl wasn't overlooked. On rare occas.sions, Raven would pray to whoever the authority in heaven was that she would just disappear from the sight of people forever. It never happened.

Keeping her pace swift, the girl kept walking even as she caught the names of all three of the humans. Only the name Noah rang any bell for her.... maybe he had been in one of her lessons before. Whatever the case may be, she preferred not to have to talk to any of them. But the path she walked lead right next to the tree. It was inevitable that they would notice her, and anyone, Dannai seemed to be getting curious. Apparently something about the other familiars was getting her attention. Maybe it was that faint orange glow on the larger one. Whatever it was, Dannai seemed to be interested and it wasn't like Raven would leave her there, even if it meant having to wait in awkward silence till the wolf's curiousity was satisfied.

Tybalt grinned, leaning calmly against a tree "Hm... Noah and Hebe, not ringing any bells. I'm simply taking a night-time stroll around the castle in which I live, is that a crime?" He said is mock dispair, Peronell jumping once again to the ground and winding her way around his ankles "The real question is, what are you doing here? I don't recognise you and I believe this is private property. I can see you practice magic but if you're not for our side... well... you'll find out soon enough if you aren't."

He
smirked, examining his nails and humming a little to him self, not outwardly worried in the least but extremly suspicious and slightly scared of the two strangers on the inside.
'What if they're more powerful than me? Or they're planning an attack on the fortress? What do I do then?' He worried, the voice in his head quickly becoming panicked.
Peronell hissed, sensing her master's fear and pressing closer to his leg.

The moon was high in the sky, a breeze was going lightly through the trees, and light danced across a lake that seemed to be made of gl@ss. A male crane, it's beak pointing at the moon, rested in the middle of the unmoving lake.
The water rippled suddenly: it had been disturbed. The crane took flight, startled, into the dark night sky.
The thing that had caused the tranquil lake to become disturbed was a small stone, tossed by a small boy, who was leaning against a majestic snow leopard at least ten times his size.
The boy threw another stone, and another, until finally he stopped, and stood up, looking carefully into the dark forest.
The snow leopard, too, had noticed a disturbance. She too, stood up, moving closer to the boy. The boy pushed her away, lightly, but the snow leopard kept coming closer, until finally the boy growled with annoyance.
"Jas, I'm fine, go away!" he hissed at the snow leopard.
"You need protecting, Peter, and I'm your protector," Jas replied calmly. "Do you not like me being close?"
The boy's tone softened. "No, I'm sorry Jas." he was going to sit down again, when he heard voices.
"Hmm, other children out of bed? I did not know others did night wanderings too," Jas said, amused.
"Shh, I'm trying to listen," Peter hissed to the snow leopard. He strained his ears, but only caught some words, most which were common words, such as 'I', 'me', 'you', and 'is'.
"Let's move closer," Jas whispered, and the two crept silently into the forest.
Peter climbed a tree, but Jas wouldn't, as she was terribly afraid of heights.
"Hide in the bushes," Peter suggested.
"That's really my only option," Jas replied back, slinking into the bush.
The people talking were a bunch of kids, all older then Peter, talking about who should be here, and who should not.
