Prologue

Ming Yue thought to herself now, alone in the pasty moonlight. A part of what Tai Yang had said lingered in her thoughts, almost ripping her to pieces with wonder of how that applied. What people need isn’t always what they want… She sighed loosening her shoulders and looking down at the garden below, bathed in blue light. Finally the cold drove Yue inside, but she couldn’t help thinking that Tai Yang was right.

The emperor’s daughter, Ming Yue is due to the throne, but without a husband. Her father is desperate to find his only heir a spouse, against Ming Yue’s preference. She wishes nothing more than to let her love find her at destiny’s pace, flirting followed by being called upon, and finally courting and marriage. Unfortunately, this is not her father’s will. He wishes only to find a noble man for his daughter before the moon returns to being full. (This happens to be in 28 days time.) In the midst of all of this, China is divided and unruly, battles forming everywhere and threatening to overthrow the emperor before his daughter gets one chance.

1. Please be as literate as possible. Eight sentences is preferred per post, but I do understand if you can get anywhere from five to eight (or more) on a normal day. On a braindead day, just post so in OOC so we don't get any one-or-two liners. Five is the minimum, please.

3. Please use some form of OOC (Out Of Character) to indicate when you’re not roleplaying, such as ((this)) or {this} or OOC: this BIC: etc.

 Name: Jace Cai

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Personality: Jace is a very easy going person, laid back and not really caring about his future. He is not one to care either of he hurts other feelings by saying things he believes are true, or if he knows something someone else needs to know, all-in-all he's a very blunt guy. Not one to care about how anyone he does not know, nor does he want to knows, feeling he'll tell someone off just for the heck of it to see what kind of reaction he can gain from them. Jace is quite selfish when he wants to be, which tends to be most of the time, seeing as he does not have any one to look after or care about how they feel or what they want. Friends are hard for him to gain, and harder for him to keep, because he has little loyalty to anyone besides himself. This is mostly because of his past and the fact no one gave a damn about him, so why should he now. But if someone is lucky enough for him to consider a friend he can be over protective and very giving, not afraid to steal to get what they want. Or he can be a jerk and push them away. Jace is also not always on the right side of the law, and his learned over to years how to take care of himself and provide what he needs, not really caring if he gets himself into trouble or not.

Appearance: Jace is not exactly normal looking in the sense of Chinese. He has sun bleached blonde hair that at times looks white in the sun. His hair reaches just past his ears and is longer in the front then in the back, with side sweeping bangs that cover his right eye most of the time, He is not a real muscular guy when you first look at him, but he has hidden strength after so many years of running and fighting for survival. He is somewhat lanky in appearance really. He has a very kind face, with high defined cheek bones and he is almost always grinning in a cunning manner. Like he knows something you don't. Jace's eyes are a cobalt blue that seems to get darker towards the center of his eyes. He normally wears peasants clothing, consisting of a rugged blue or black shirt and dark brown well worn pants. He has a sapphire drop hanging from one ear, though he will say he did not quire it on the right side of the law if asked.

History: Jace grew up in a small village where everybody knew everyone and there seemed to be nothing no one did not know. In his small house he lived with his two older brother and his mother. They lived fairly well, working most of the day and earning enough to get what they needed. Jace is the only child between his mother and father, and he never learned who his father really was. His brothers father had died a year before Jace was born. He'd always been a bit of a crook, stealing small things or making a little ruckus in the village. His mother berated him for this often and his brother looked  down upon him for it, as did the other villagers. When he was eighteen Jace left home to his mothers annoyance to seek something more of himself. Over the next five years he found himself behind bars more then once and always able to flatter himself out of harsh situations. He is still traveling along, having little to nothing to truly do with himself. So he seeks now to find a permanent place to live.  

Other: He is presumably a foreigner, not having a Chinese first name or the looks of the people around him. His mother had told him once that his father named him before leaving. 

Name: Huali He [Hua as in flower, li as in some random chinese letter, and he as in river XD]

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Personality: Huali is very kind and gentle, and quite naive. She believes that every person deserves a second chance, and she doesn't quite understand the ways of the imperial family. But she is a loving friend, and very open to strangers.

Crush/Girlfriend/Boyfriend: Open

Spouse: Um, no?

Appearance: Huali has straight black hair that is long, and reaches half-way down her back. She has a fair face, and not very tan, and brown eyes. She is of medium height, and quite slender, suggesting that she is a very fast runner. Her hands are cut and bruised, results of farm work.

History: Huali worked on a farm when she was a child, but was taken away when her family could no longer afford to pay for their place. She has not seen her parents ever since she was 15, because the imperial king found kindness in his heart and placed her with the princess so his daughter could have a companion. [I hope this is sufficient -.-]

Other: Dur. Can Huali have a water snake as a pet?

Name: Marco Valone

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Personality: Marco is very wary of strangers, and is cheerful around the people he is comfortable around. He is short-tempered, but tries to control his anger. He loves hunting, and is skilled with a bow and arrow.

Crush/Girlfriend/Boyfriend: Open

Spouse: Er. No.

Appearance: Marco is a foreigner, so he has brown hair that flops all over the place. In the front, it is parted, and a lot of the fringe hangs over his left eye, partially covering it. His eyes are a day-blue color, and he is tall, but not muscular. 

History: He doesn't know much about his past, but that his parents were foreigners that left him in this land. [I just wanted to bring a foreigner into this RP. That's okay, right? o_o]

Name: Xun Zhikuo

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Personality: Xun is a man that knows his duty and will carry it out to the absolute best of his ability. A rather quiet person, he rarely speaks unless spoken to but when he does, he clearly shows his intuitive nature. He has an uncanny talent for reading people, from thier expressions and body language, to thier tones of voice and general auras. This causes many people to become unsettled as he always seems to 'guess' just what kind of person they are. As a result, he isn't very well liked by people who use facades and the like. He is a rather blunt person, telling people exactly what he thinks and not bothering with the little white lies; he finds them agitating.

Crush/Girlfriend/Boyfriend: open, for now

Spouse: none

Appearance: A bit tall, considering his average sized family, with the rich silky black hair of a typical Chinese. He keeps it cut short, to a little shorter than shoulder-length. He keeps one small strand of hair at the base of his neck long. He bears the amber-colored eyes that run in his family and a firm, angular face. His body is lithe and strong, honed by years of swordplay and martial arts. 

History: Xun's grandfather started out as just another young soldier in the army fighting for his nation. After fourty-odd years, he had risen to the higher ranks and retreated to a comfortable lifestyle, his wife giving birth to three sons and a daughter. The sons all joined the military as well, and became rather successful. Xun's father was the most sucessful of the three, achieving the rank of High General. Xun is expected to follow in his father's footsteps since he is the only male out of five children.
