Rosalie flew wordlessly over the vast, sandy plains before her, her black vampiric wings making a whoosh every time they sliced through the warm air. Her light blonde hair trailed behind her, revealing a soft and delicately featured face, along with two crimson red eyes. She was a vampire looking for her next meal. She came across a pasture filled with mooing cows and she landed beside one, pressing her lips to its soft leathery neck and sinking her fangs in. She was careful not to drain it completely, leaving it with enough to survive normally. She wiped her mouth and took off into the skies, narrowly avoiding a farmer's watchful gaze. That was the difference between Rosalie and the others of her kind. She refused to take a human's life, instead opting to feed off of animals. Humans were too similar to her own race, and she herself was once one of their kind. But she would not go to the extent of some others and kill any vampire who crossed her path merely because of what they were. There were some extremists who hated their own kind and swore to see to its extinction. She had narrowly escaped one of them, only surviving because of a happy accident; She hid in a dark barn, and a farmer attacked the hunter with a pitchfork, thinking he was trying to rob him. She shuddered at the memory. The one thing she had to remember it was a long scar along her left forearm from a knife he had thrown at her during the chase.

Destery ran his tongue over his fangs, tasting the leftover traces of blood. Travelers were an easy meal, especially when they were disoriented. It was sometime near dusk, and the night before, Destery had been stalking the two humans he had found. It wasn't until the next day that he decided to kill them. They didn't even realize someone else was in the woods...or wherever he was. Stupid, Destery thought, pressing his thumb to the tip of one of his fangs. It sunk right through his skin, which didn't bother Destery too much, but it certainly felt weird. Very stupid. ~ Mellonie blinked her red-violet eyes at nothing. It was dusk, so she was awake. Being a vampire, she thought that being nocturnal would suit her best. It suited her before, when she was just a human. But, she didn't try to be nocturnal as she did now, as a vampire. A bird startled her, and she threw a stone near her hand at it. She hit the bird and killed it, and she would've killed another bird with that same stone if there was another nearby. Killing two birds with one stone, just like in the saying or whatever. That would've been corny.

Blood hit the ground as a body fell limply upon it, headless. "WHEW! Hot damn, D, that was cool!" Said a voice cheerfully behind the raven-haired man. He didn't even look at the Sapphire-eyed man as he seathed his blade. "That wasn't the woman we are looking for. That was a regular. A fake," He explained, turning to the other, who sighed. "D, D, D, D, don't you know by now, after working with you for six years that if that were the chick we were supposed to kill, this job would be easy?" He asked with a smirk. He was ignored by the other. "Hey, kid, maybe your suposed to just cool down?" Said a third voice. But no one was around.... "Yeah, yeah..." Crispin mumbled, walking over to a black horse, as the other walked to his own steed. "South...Just a bit farther," He said as the horse raced by before the other even got on his horse. "Dammit D, stop leaving me!" Crispin called. ____________ "X," Said a young man with long raven hair, reaching his mid back. "What, Rain?" The other asked. He had short red hair with purple streaks. They were both of brown horses. "I haven't a clue where the girl is. She disappeared," He said with a sigh. "Don't worry. She's a vampire. We'll find her...It's in our blood"

Rosalie paused, hovering in midair. The wind was laden with the smell of freshly spilt human blood. She resumed her journey, altering course to follow the smell. She found the headless corpse of a woman, and smelled the distinctive scent of vampires and horses. She sped off after them, followinf at a safe distance.

"Hey, D," Crispin said, smelling something. "..." He nodded for the other to continue. "I think I smell another vampire. Shouldn't we do something? "It's not the one we're looking for," He said, making the horse go faster. "Right.." He said, not even thinking about hunting after the other one.

Rosalie sped up, seeing the two vampires on horseback. "Why ride when you can fly twice as fast?", she wondered, slowing as she became paralell with the duo. "Are you the ones who killed the woman back there?", she asked, glaring at D. He was handsome, but the scent of blood, human and vampire alike, clung to him.

"It's none of your buisnes," Said a voice from neither Crispin or D. "Yes. It wasn't human either," D said, not even looking at the other.

"What do you mean it wasn't human?", she asked, frowning slightly, "She appeared all the world to be an innocent mortal woman."

"She was turned you idiot," Said the voice. "Hey, don't be so snippy!" Crispin laughed, as D squeezed his right hand, closed, and then there was a rushed. "I'LLBEGOODIPROMISE,I'LLBEGOODIPROMISE!!!Stopstopstop!!!" "You are you?" Crispin asked. "That's D, he isn't very social. I can talk to ya, though,"

"What is that annoying little voice?", Rosalie asked, chuckling, "Anyway, you mean she was turned into a vampire? Like I was over a hundred years ago?"

"Oh, that' Rodriguz. Uh..Left hand, we call him," He expalined with a laugh. "He's D's sence of humor..Uhnn...Anyway, yeah, but there's a problem. They turn more into zombies than anything else,"

"That's odd.", Rosalie said, "Why does that happen?" She uncontiously touched the bite mark on the side of her neck left on that fateful day.

"Dunno. Only purebloods can turn people into vampire's with no conciquences. If a a makeshift vampire turns another into a vampire there's a five percent chance they get turned into a zombie like form. However, something happened that changed that five ercent into a eighty percent," He said, looking down with a sigh. "Once slain, they go back to human," D iunquired. "Yeah, and I-Ooof!" He was knocked off the horse with an incredible force, blood spatterign everywhere due to a bullet in his side. "What the hell?!" He sat up, looking around. In the distance he saw two people riding on horses. They were too far to make out, and the only reason he was able to even see then was his vampiric abilities. He ripped the knife out of his side, and stood up, watchign D dismount his horse.

Rosalie dropped to the ground, easily landing on her feet, and knelt beside the other vampire she'd been talking to, watching as the wound healed itself. "Why did they- Oh, dear....", Rosalie said, gasping. The were vampire hunters, two of them, coming closer every second. She stood up, her eyes turning an even darker shade of crimson as the duo came nearer and nearer.

D had disapeared in a flash, nowhere to be found, as the two on horse-back circled the both of them. "A pureblood and a 'fake,' without zombie charecteristics," A man with long raved hair said. He looked at the other with red hair. "Doesn't matte.r We'll stake them and-" "The hell you will!" Crispin growled. X didn't even notice the other vampire as he jumped on him and forced him off of the horse. "Filthy monster!" X growled, strugglign with the other man, "'Filthy?!' We're the smae speciese! Rosalie, run!" He shouted, kicking the other man off, who gracefully landed on his feet. "Ahh, two lovers, perhaps? Rain, kill the girl," He said, taking what was unmistakably a steak out of a pouch on his leg. He charged at Crispin, who was standing once more, who smirked, and punched the other in the face, sending him flyign the other way. "X!" Rain shouted, dismountign the horse. "You want some too, slim?" He asked, crackign his knuckles, fangs painfully visible. "Oh yeah," He growled, reachign for something in the bag on the horse's saddle. It was a large handgun. X, by this time, had recovered from the rather agressive "B itch-slap,' and had grabbed Rosalie from behind a knife to her throat. "You don't get out much, do ya, babe?"

"Actually, I'm almost always outside.", Rosalie replied, grinning and kicking X in the wrong spot, slipping out of his grip. "You may be a pure blood, but you aren't infaliable." She bowed before jumping onto X's horse and riding for a distance before turning around and watching the scene unfold from a safe viewing point.

Crispin grabbed the lithe vampire before Rain even knew what was gonig on, and tossed him into X, who had just stood up. "Ouchhhh..." Crispin laughed with a smirk. "And, you guys are hunters, you said?" He asked, tiltig his head as Rain stood up. "And your hardly qualify as someone to be at D's side," He sneered racing towards the other man, but this time was barely noticed. Blood spalletered on the ground along with Crispin's unconcious body, a large chunk of wood sticking exactly where a regular human's heart would be. "Trickery usually gewt's 'em," X smirked.
