Minxstar bounded up highrock, his russet pelt turned ginger in the light of sunhigh. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a meeting!" he yowled to his clan.

Robinwing licked Heronkit one last time, her tongue rasping over the small kit. Hearing Minxstar's call, she glanced at the other kits, making sure that their pelts were immaculate. "It's time for the ceremony dears," she purred, letting a peeved Heronkit out from under her paw. 

Ghostkit sighed and gave a small yawn, her small mouth opening widely. "Whatever," she muttered, though the fact that she was grooming her fur carefully showed she cared about this moment as well.

Leopardkit bounced up and down in excitement, "I wonder who'll mentor me!" he mewed, his dark brown eyes glinting with joy and a small bit of apprehension. 

Robinwing stiffled a purr of amusement at her kits and bundled them out of the nursery. "Behave yourselves, even though Stormheart isn't here in body, he's watching you from StarClan. I know he would be proud of all of you."

Heronkit nodded solemnly, her normally bright green eyes clouded with fear. "W..what if he's not mother?" she squeaked.

Robinwing gave her youngest kit an encouraging lick on the head, "He will be. I know it."

Featherstorm drowsily lifted her head to Minxstar's clear voice. She jabbed Rocketrage's side with her paw. "Clan meeting Rocketrage" she said, shuffling out of the warriors den, her tail swishing. She sat near the high rock, grooming her untidy fur, waiting for the announcement to start.

Rocketrage moaned and rolled over, only to be jabbed in the side by his brother, Owlcomet. "I was getting up" Rocketrage snapped as he stretched.

"I'm sure you were Rocketrage" Owlcomet said rolling his eyes.

Lightwave leaped out of the warriors den enthusiastically, hardly able to sit still with impatience. Her tail lashed across the fallen leaves noisily.

Owlcomet bounded out next to his sister, gently putting a paw on Lightwave's tail to keep her quiet.

Rocketrage followed his brother drowsily, appearing very moody as he stormed over to the high rock and sat down heavily, sending leaves flying upwards .

Applesong sat quietly in front of the medicine cat den, waiting for the announcement to proceed.

Minxstar looked down on the as.sembled cats, pride shining in his clear amber eyes. "Today we honor StarClan by welcoming new apprentices. Could Ghostkit, Leopardkit and Heronkit please step forwards?"

Heronkit took a deep breath and scrambled up the side of Highrock, her small paws searching for holds.

Leopardkit easily took over his smaller littermates, his lithe black-spotted body making its way up to Minxstar, who sat waiting. 

Ghostkit stayed next to Heronkit, laying her tail over her littermate's shoulders to guide her. Her sightless eyes stayed fixated on the gray rock in front of her as if she could see it.

Minxstar smiled at the kits encouragingly. "Today we have gathered to welcome these new apprentices." he started. "Leopardkit," he meowed, turning to the golden tom. "From now on your name will be Leopardpaw. Your mentor is Dragoncrest." Now Minxstar faced the deputy of the Clan, "Dragoncrest, you learned strength and patience from your mentor Lionflash, and I hope you p*censored*. down these qualities to Leopardpaw."

Leopardpaw looked at Minxstar in mute amazement, before whirling around to look at the deputy. My mentor, Dragoncrest? he thought in disbelief.

Dragoncrest inclined his head and padded towards Leopardpaw. His blue eyes watching the apprentice. His claws dug into the rocks of Highrock so he didn't fall off. The tip of his tail flicked in amusement.

Phoenyxcry and Wyvernsong sat with the other cats. Their eyes sparkled with amusment as they watched the young apprentice.

Leopardpaw stretched his muzzle out, his small nose touching Dragoncrest's larger one for a moment. He blinked, still feeling disbelief at the thought of SnowCLan's mighty deputy being his mentor.

Minxstar turned his attention to Ghostkit, who was staring moodily at her paws. "Ghostkit," he meowed loudly, adressing the small she-cat, "From now on your name will be Ghostpaw. Your mentor is Owlcomet."

Ghostpaw blinked, her ice blue eyes hidden for a moment before she turned them on Minxstar. "Oh," she murmured softly, feeling the sweet feeling of joy, something she did not feel often.

Heronkit purred happily, reading Ghostpaw's mood from the ex
pression on the tiny cat's face. 

Dragoncrest then rasped his tongue between the smaller tom's ears. "You will do fine," he whispered to his apprentice. Then he padded off a ways to let Owlcomet come forth to his apprentice.

Phoenixcry touched Owlcomet's shoulder with the tip of her tail before flicking it away. Her golden-yellow eyes were still focused on Minxstar.

Wyvernsong slid forward so he was laying down with his front paws tucked underneath them. His tail curled along his side as he watched the next apprentice.
