Byrd's paws softly padded through the building in which she was confined to.  The light rays of the sun peered out through the glass sliding-door as she sat down beside the catflap.  It had just been installed by her housefolk yesterday, and she wasn't too sure about the thing.  The first time she used it, it grazed her skin.  Alas, she loved going outside, so the catflap didn't deter her too much.
Byrd burst through quickly and ran out onto the green grass.  It felt natural on her pads, rather than the hard stuff inside the house.  Leaping up on the fence, she let her paw hang down and looked out over the horizon.  Everything was so... peaceful.

Riverstone awoke and wanted to go back to sleep.  Sleep was healthy, and he definitely needed more.  However, this not being an option, the tom lumbered out of the Warriors' den and would've plopped right back down on the ground, asleep, if it wasn't for his Clan.  He needed to be awake, and if he wasn't, he was just going to be yelled at to get up sooner or later.  Or, worse, jumped on.
Stretching out, he looked around ReedClan's camp.  Not too many were awake yet.
Does this mean more sleep?

[[ She's not? Oops, sorry Ice :( Yup, she's the MCA, I'll add her on the character roster. ]]

Sleetstrike's eyes flickered towards Icefeather when he saw the she-cat exit from the warrior's den from the corner of his eyes. He had the idea to add her into the morning patrol along with Swallowtrill, and was about to open his mouth when he heard Swallowtrill's excited mew.
"Hey, Icefeather!" She greeted the cream cat. "I'm leading the morning patrol today, would you like to join me?" Swallowtrill sat a few fox-tails away from Sleetstrike, eagerly waiting Icefeather's reply. Sleetstrike rolled his eyes, though he twitched his ears in amusement. The grey she-cat was always known for being exceptionally excited, though no cat really knew why.

Spidermask
LeafClan warrior

He watched the sudden gathering of cats, all greeting one another, in an observational silence. In truth he was still in the process of accepting he had to live with so many other cats. Spidermask was happy to be peaceful and agreeable - he was never a hostile character by nature - but... it made him feel quite awkward when these cats, friends from kittenhood, would talk so enthusiastically together. Kind of helped emphasise the distance between him, born a stray, and them - the Clan-cats.

To hell with this. The long-furred cat stood, bristling a little in his nervousness, and approached them, seeming.... strained. "Patrol?" he volunteered. "I'll be happy to go on one, or do something else, if you've.... got anything else..." Why did he make everything sound so complicated?

Swanflight
ReedClan Deputy

A cloudy shape padded out of the warriors' den - a familiar shape. It was Riverstone. Swanflight surveyed him closely, in interest. He suspected the warrior wouldn't appreciate being pounced on with duties straightaway, but he would like to start assigning the members of the Clan with tasks. The deputy signalled to Riverstone to come closer with an inviting flick of his tail. At the same time, he pushed his whiskers out and kept his ears rigid. He hoped he looked.... approachable. Welcoming even.

Rabbitfoot
ReedClan medicine cat

She made her way towards the mouth of the nursing den. Tall stalks of dry grass made a little tunnel that led to a sandy hollow, sheltered by a small, drooping willow tree that made a kind of dome out of long, protective tendrils. A single line of pebbles made a little border against the surrounding wall of stalks. Lying in her nest of dry grasses, feathers and moss was a tortoiseshell queen. Elmrise.

Even when she was asleep, Rabbitfoot preferred Elmrise's presence to many of the other cats. She was more patient, a lot quieter. And the fact that she was heavily pregnant also gave Rabbitfoot a greater excuse to be with her - she'd never been of assistance during a birthing, but she liked the thought of being there to comfort the queen in her hour of need.

The tabby cat curled up beside Elmrise, who stirred slightly but didn't awaken. Rabbitfoot rested her face close to the tortoiseshell's, aware she would probably appreciate the warmth. Being in a den all to yourself was something Rabbitfoot understood, and didn't always prefer.

Redwing ran for her life. She continuously managed to get thorns caught in her fur, but that was the least of her concerns right now. She couldn't let the dog catch her. She was practically flying through the woods, but this dog was chasing her, and quickly catching up. Redwind turned around to fight it, knowing that if she ran any further, it would get into the camp and attack the clan. She gave the dog three red cuts under its eye, and it snarled, and bit her, picking her up by her neck, and throwing her across the clearing.

Her eyes shot open, and she was breathing quickly in fear. She began to calm down, but that had been one of the worst dreams she'd ever had. They weren't from StarClan or anything, just dreams. More like nightmares, actually. She glanced around the warrior's den, and hoped she wasn't getting wierd looks from the other cats because she was so frightened of what the other cats would probably assume was nothing.

May I join? Not sure if I'm actually supposed to say this but I love potatoes. I read it in the rules and assumed you're supposed to say it if you want to join. xD

Wolfeira is my sister and we've talked about my joining, and I've decided to take up her offer on roleplaying one of her kittens when they're born. That's if I'm accepted of course! XD

yeah i dont know either.

[ Just a note. I may be late in posting for a few days since mum's like - SCHOOL REOPEN. FOCUS. So yeah. I'll try my best.]
ReedClan
Falconstar shifted uneasily in his sleep. He rolled over in hopes of being able to get back to a peaceful slumber, but there was far too much rustling outside his den to sleep properly. Sighing, he flicked a leaf off his pelt and brushed a paw over his ear. Stepping out confidently from his den, he took a place quietly at the foot of a tree near his den and scrutinized his surroundings. His Clan was in order, and as usual, Swanflight was attempting to assign duties to the Clan. He padded over to his trustful deputy. "Has a patrol been arranged yet?" He asked, flicking his tail over Swanflight's shoulder to remove a speck of dirt.
Jaypaw bowed his head as Falconstar padded past and continued on his short journey to the fresh-kill pile. Picking a small mouse from the top of the pile, he sat next to the pile and daintily started to tear the mouse apart, using his tail to push the pieces of prey into his mouth. The piece of fresh-kill tasted wonderful - fresh blood was still rippling through the body. It must have just been caught, he thought. Usually, on such a bitter winter, such good-tasting fresh-kill was hard to come by. I shouldn't be selfish. He thought. Carrying the mouse, with just a few bites taken from it's belly, in his mouth, he dropped it near his mentor, Riverstone. "Hope you don't mind, Riverstone," He started, "I thought this piece of fresh-kill was tasting rather nice and thought I should share with my great mentor."
Sandflight drank in the air - the scent of mouse was rich and strong. She started to track down the strong scent before a rustling sound caught her attention. Her sharp, icy green eyes descended on a nest of squirming baby mice just under a bramble bush, the mother nowhere to be found. Bounding over in anticipation she realized that the mother lay next to the nest, not moving a whisker. She scented the female - it was alive, breathing ever so slightly. Carrying the female in her mouth by the foot and as many baby mice as she could hold in her mouth, she returned back to the camp after eating the remaining two baby mice that could not fit into her mouth. Bounding past the grassy camp, she dropped her easy catches onto the fresh-kill pile in pride.
LeafClan
Bluefrost rustled awake to the sound of scrambling paws and activity rising in the Clan. Padding out of the den, he drank in the fresh morning air. The scent of sweet, dewy grass always calmed the young cat, who usually woke up flustered and annoyed. He padded past a few other cats quietly - he was not one to draw attention to himself.
Willowleaf hopped off a short tree branch, carrying the small quail in her mouth as she headed back to the camp. She was not usually found in the Warrior den at night - she often went on a solitary hunt till the early morning. Dropping her catch onto the fresh-kill pile as she bounded past, she pricked her ears as Spidermask mentioned the word patrol. "I could go on the patrol if you'd like." She volunteered. Altough she was a solitary , loner of a cat, she liked going on patrols.

Non-Clan
Puss meowed loudly at his housefolks, demanding his morning feed. The younger of the twoleg kits imitated his loud yowls innocently, "Mew mew mew! Puss-puss!" as she unsteadily emptied two cups of dry food into the metal bowl before filling the water bowl to the brim. Puss rubbed his head fondly against the twoleg kit's leg, a sign of affection.
"Lily! Sophia! Time for school!" A familiar yowl rushed through the household as the twoleg kits ran out of the door, screaming, "Bye mommy!"
Kitty woke up to the screaming of the twolegs, her paws padding softly on the linoleum floor of the warm kitchen. She bowed her head to take a drink and have some food, flicking her tail at Puss. Puss was oblivious.
That was weird - Puss would have play-attacked her. She followed his emerald glance as he mumbled, "The door."
"The door?" Kitty started, but he had already started to walk across the room. He flicked his tail, beckoning Kitty to follow. As they scented a twoleg descend down the stairs, Puss hissed, "Let's go!" As they bounded across the room, closing the distance between them and the door in a heartbeat. Leaping over the fence and across the street, they walked.
"Where are we going?" Kitty asked, as she leaped up the stone wall that Puss sat on.
"We're having an adventure today."
Kitty glanced over the stone wall. "Wasn't this place..."
"You're such a coward, Kitty. No one will find out. Come on!"
And together they padded into the dark, forbidden forest.

Regan hopped out of yet another trashcan. She sighed - it would be another hungry day. No twoleg would feed her due to her aggressive looks, she recalled, as she toppled over a glass bottle of milk on a doorstep. The twolegs attempted to shoo Regan from the window, but she didn't budge till they came out of the door. By then she had already lapped up half the milk.
The twolegs however, had a different idea. They let their little dog loose - and Regan looked at the canine. The dog bared it's sharp fangs, snapping at the cat. A chase ensued, and she leapt over a stone fence. "Mouse-dung," She cursed, as she looked at the forest ahead of her.
[What does MCA mean? :o]

OOC: Ohey, my sister wants to roleplay one of Elmrise's kits. Is it alright to let her give birth sometime soon? xD
MCA - Medicine cat apprentice :) It confused me too...

Swanflight
ReedClan Deputy

Before Riverstone could heed Swanflight's request, their leader suddenly emerged and approached the white cat. Swanflight felt himself recoil inside. "Not yet," he answered. "I was getting to work on it just now, actually. I was going to ask Riverstone to go, but I think it would seem appropriate for Jaypaw to accompany him too, along with Echopaw and Redwing a well."

He may as well admit it. He wanted to prove his efficiency as a new deputy to Falconstar. By sharing his orders with the leader, he'd at least hoped he could show he'd thought his duties through, established a plan. It hadn't occurred to him, until now, that his explanation might feel like a verbal pile-on for the leader.

LeafClan

Icefeather looked up at Swallowtrill's exclamation. She purred happily upon seeing the grey she-cat. For whatever reason, Icefeather got on better with this cat than her own brother sometimes, which was surprising due to the difference in their personalities.

"I'd love to come," Icefeather replied happily, "when are we leaving?"

Icefeather suddenly remebered that Sleetstrike was standing just a few inches away, and she stole a glance at him. "I can go, right?" she asked, trying not to laugh at his ex
pression.

---

Leafshade rolled his eyes at his sister, flicking a now clean ear.

"Hey Sleetstrike, want me to gather a hunting patrol?" he asked casually. With the clan stirring, there was no way he'd get any sleep, and the fresh-kill pile was... well, basically empty. There were a couple scrawny mice left, but that would hardly feed a clan.

ReedClan

With her paws clamped over her silver ears, Lakripple, glaring irrtably around her, hissed slightly. She had just managed reenter her dream, and now she was in a foul mood. But nonetheless, Swanflight would be looking for her soon, so she might as well find him first. At times, Lakeripple still found it hard to adjust to certain aspects of clan life.

Still glaring at the stirring cats, Lakripple slid carefully out of her nest, and slunk towards the entrance, padding out into the clearing.

---

Echopaw heard his name, and pricked his ears. His name and the word 'patrol' didn't belong in the same sentance, as far as he was concerned. Jaypaw was already somewhere else, and Echopaw wasn't sure where his mentor was. He was hovering uncertainly near the entrance to his den, surveying the waking cats with bright eyes.

Then Echopaw spotted Jaypaw and his mentor Riverstone a short distance away, Swanflight and Falconstar close by. Tentatively, he slipped from the shadows of the den, and began to work his way over to the other cats, maybe one of them had seen his own mentor, Redwing.

[Ty! :v]
Jaypaw pricked up his ears at the sound of his name. "Training?" He meowed, sitting up straighter.
Falconstar nodded, considering what he had heard. "You wouldn't mind organizing one now, would you?" He asked, nodding to the fresh-kill pile. Only a few sparrows, the few very small mice and two hares lay on the ground. "We are rather low on fresh-kill. A hunting patrol would be lovely, and the borders may need a patrol's attention as well - we don't want to risk LeafClan crossing it." He let out a slight hiss - he wasn't usually one to express his emotions during a conversation with clanmates.
Sandflight sat near Rabbitfoot's currently empty den and inhaled the strong fragrance of herbs - mousebile, moss, yarrow... she recalled the days as a kit yearning to be the Clan's Medicine Cat, however her mother's abandonment had caused her to drop everything on her mind and decide that being a Medicine Cat was not in her best interest after all. She sighed as the calming scent of yarrow, however bitter it tasted, intoxicated her ever so slightly.

Willowleaf glanced at the newborn mice, still struggling hard to escape the frightening surroundings they were in, and thought to herself, They wouldn't do a Clan much good. But a starving cat would gladly take a radish if that was all he could find. "The Clan needs more fresh-kill." She commented in slight amusement.
Bluefrost flicked his tail. "Yes we do. I am pretty sure Sleetstrike would organize a patrol soon." He stole a glance at Sleetstrike, "Are you?"

Venturing deeper into the dark forest, Kitty and Puss came across a strong scent of... cat. "Cats live here?" Kitty remarked in disbelief. She took a step further into the forest, and as she pounced at a dove, unsheathed her claws. Her claws sunk into the dove's neck - her first catch in ages. She was not particularly skilled at hunting, however she did know how to catch a small piece of fresh-kill every once in a while. Dipping her head to take a bite of her catch, the dove suddenly clawed at her face with the last bit of energy it had. In fury, Kitty sunk her rather blunt claws into the dove's body. A alive-and-kicking animal would never be killed by Kitty - her claws and hunting skills were far too terrible for such a terrible chore. "Puss?" She meowed in pride, holding up her catch in her mouth. But Puss had already bounded off to who knew where. Alone Kitty was, in a dark forest. She walked slightly further up, scenting more cats as she walked. Her ears caught the sound of many cats rustling and meowing, and in fear decided not to move. She sat, frozen, as she witnessed the happenings of a group of cats for a heartbeat before deciding to sit on a short branch to have a better view.
The cats slowly emerged from the grassy area, dens encircling the small field. She sat frozen on the branch, preparing to spring as the cats started to disperse.
Puss, on the other hand, was full of excitement as he finally found a large group of cats a few foxlengths away. Bounding over to them, he meowed loudly, "Hello! Are you stuck in the forest as well?" Looking at their stunned faces, he continued, "You don't look like you belong to any twoleg I know! Have your housefolk just moved into this place?" He flicked his tail at the faraway light tunnel, at the stone wall. "I am Puss, and this is my housemate, Ki--" He turned around. "Kitty? Where are you?"

[ Puss has found LeafClan while Kitty has found ReedClan. It is up to the rest if they want to accept them or not. ]

Spidermask
LeafClan warrior

Suddenly everyone was awake. Well, not quite everyone, but the assembly of cats all enquiring for their morning duties had swollen. Spidermask couldn't decide between hunting and patrolling now. Well, it depended on the deputy's choice and judgement. The black cat simply sat and patiently waited for orders, hoping he'd be at least acknowledged.

Swanflight
ReedClan Deputy

The white tomcat nodded. "I'll get together a patrol, and a hunting party too," he promised. He also cast a look at the kill pile. They were well off for another day or two - the hares would feed at least three apprentices comfortably, he assumed.

With a departing nod to the leader, he stood and padded over towards Riverstone. Swanflight was not the slimmest of cats, yet fat was nowhere to be found on his body. His build was lean and a little heavyset - built for strength, for swimming, for bringing animals down. Swanflight could catch hares if he was fast enough. He was one of the strongest cats in ReedClan, and was proud of this.

"Riverstone and Jaypaw," he greeted kindly. "I am going to assign you both on a border patrol this morning." He noticed the little face in the opening to the apprentice den. "Echopaw and Redwing will go with you. Pass the massage on, Jaypaw, please. I will inform Redwing now. Once she's up and awake, be prepared to leave by then."

Swanflight turned to make his way towards the warriors' quarters. There came Lakeripple, slinking out of the gap. She was one of the cats that stood out most for Swanflight - not because he hadn't grown up with her, like the other warriors, but for the air of diversity that seemed to surround her all the time. She wasn't Clanborn, and it showed in her doubtful step, her eyes. Nevertheless the deputy was eager to welcome her.

"Lakeripple." He dipped his head momentarily, his tone even. "I would like you to gather two more cats for a hunting party. Not Redwing, however - I have other plans for her." Suddenly, he paused, considering his orders. With both apprentices occupied, along with Riverstone and Redwing, that left two warriors spare - Elmrise and Sandflight, both tortoiseshell she-cats. But one was currently in the nursing den, too heavily pregnant to hunt. He noticed Sandflight, lingering around the medicine cat's den. Again. He exhaled inaudibly, in understanding of her behaviour. "Just take Sandflight with you, and depart when you are ready. I will join you afterward." That at least left three cats for a hunting party.

He passed the slender silver tabby she-cat, giving her a respectable but not exaggerated berth, and slowly prodded his head into the shadows of the nest. "Redwing," he called gently. "You're on for border patrol, with your apprentice, Riverstone, and Jaypaw."

Rabbitfoot
ReedClan medicine cat
(who's just heard Kitty - in the willow tree, perhaps?)

One yellow eye split slowly open. She heard a soft rustling, she faint scrape of claws on bark. Her head jerked upwards. Over the faint chatter in the clearing, the distant gushing of the river, she could tell another animal was close by. In the drooping willow that protectively sheltered the nursing den. She sprang to her paws, fur fluffed up, ears against her skull. Elmrise wearily opened an eye, not surprised at the medicine cat's appearance. This wasn't the first time the medicine cat had sought company in her den, but it was a new occasion when the tabby she-cat awoke with her features enlarged and threatening, poised for a fight.

"Rabbitfoot?" she mewed curiously.

"There's something close by," the medicine cat hissed very quietly. Her voice was as airy as one of the willow's tendrils that sloped down from above. She sniffed. "Another one of those strange loner cats." She flexed her paws and her claws, circling the den area, peering into the tree. "You're up there, you sneaking spy. Get down and there won't be a fight." Her voice eased. It could be a confused kittypet, rather than a skulking rogue. "There's nothing to fear. I won't hurt you. But stay up there any longer and I'll fetch help."

"Swallowtrill has already organized the morning patrol, Bluefrost." Sleetstrike said, happy to see the young warrior so eager to participate in patrols, though he slightly disapproved of Bluefrost's questioning. Sleetstrike then nodded towards Willowleaf and Icefeather. "Of course you two may join Swallowtrill." He mewed, knowing that the grey she-cat would be thrilled with the opportunity to chat with her friends. Turning his attention to Icefeather's brother, Leafshade, Sleetstrike nodded his thanks. "Yes, that would be helpful, Leafshade." He then casted a glance at Bluefrost. "Perhaps you would like to join the hunting patrol?" He asked the younger warrior.
"Don't worry, Willowleaf!" Swallowtrill tried to assure her denmate. "I'm sure Leafshade will bring back plenty of fresh kill to feed every warrior here." She then turned towards the camp exit, trotting off before stopping to look over her shoulder at her friends. "Come on!" She mewed excitedly, earning an eye-roll from Sleetstrike. Swallowtrill was way too lively in the mornings sometimes.
They both stopped when a tom had crashed into the LeafClan camp. Sleetstrike immediately arched his back and narrowed his eyes, instantly assuming that the intruder was from ReedClan. His position didn't relax, however, when the cat made it obvious that he was merely a kittypet.
"What are you doing here?" Sleetstrike asked, voice icy calm. Swallowtrill, who was closest to the kittypet, backed off from him to standing next to the deputy.

Spidermask
LeafClan warrior

At first, he'd waited patiently, acceptingly, as Sleetsrike settled the confusion and enthusiasm between the young cats. He'd calmly watched the others have their needs met with his tail tucked over his forepaws. But soon, it became apparent that Spidermask's contribution had been missed. He felt despondent inside, and a little annoyed.

Just as he stood up to question the deputy, Sleetstrike's eyes raged wider and he coiled into a seething, spitting thing. Spidermask was confused at the tabby's unprovoked reaction. He whipped around, and saw a loghaired ginger cat standing on the edge of the camp. He seemed benevolent, and his tone had been bizarrely... friendly. His words were peaceful, kittenlike.

Spidermask didn't react with the same extremity as his deputy. His fur fluffed up a little, but he regarded the ginger tom carefully. If Spidermask didn't know any better, the newcomer was a housecat, lost and soon to be baffled by the hostility in LeafClan.

"I think he's lost his way," Spidermask quietly, quietly said to Sleetstrike. "I don't think he means any real harm... Sleetstrike, look at his fur. He's a... a... captive, cat?" Spidermask couldn't find the term he was searching for.

"Kittypet? Aren't you all kittypets as well, ones that are stuck in the forest just like me?" Puss asked, eyes bright with curiosity. He eyed the silver tabby tom who had greeted him with such hostility, and the calm black tom who seemed at a loss for words. Both had the scent of marsh and undergrowth mingling with their cat scents.
Kitty hopped off the branch, confused. "A spy? For whom exactly?" Her golden eyes looked like fireballs aflame with life and confusion. Her collar's bell tinkled merrily with every small move she made, a sure indicator of a kittypet.

Sandflight nodded as she stepped away hesitantly from the medicine cat den. She flicked her tail at Jaypaw, then at Riverstone, an indicator that he should go over. Jaypaw bounded over, closing the distance between him and his mentor in a heartbeat. "Hey Riverstone!" He meowed cheerily.

"Good. I shall not bother you then." Bluefrost meowed, looking away in embarrassment after he caught the note of disapproval in Sleetstrike's voice. He pricked his ears at the strange meowing sound and new scent that was present in the Clan camp. He bounded over to Spidermask and demanded, "Who is this cat?"
[ Shall add 'suspicious' to his personality... ]

Spidermask
LeafClan warrior

"He appears to be a... kittypet, I think is the term," Spidermask replied quietly, without looking at Bluefrost. "He's lost." He took a few pawsteps forward, hesitant, but not threatening. He felt oddly sympathetic to this cat. He saw himself in the stranger - unfamiliar with these Clan-cats, bewildered, and somewhat fascinated. "We're not stuck, or lost, or homeless. We live here. This is LeafClan, and this forest is our territory." He tilted his head observantly, thoughtfully.

Rabbitfoot
ReedClan medicine cat

The tabby cat stared at the glinting, singing orb at the neck of the intruder - a long-furred, black-and-white she-cat. She was so mesmerised, her rigid back relaxed, and her ex
pression eased like ice melting into water. "You're a kittypet," she remarked gently, with a kinder note in her voice - it sounded almost as welcoming as the bell itself. "No spy at all."

Elmrise
ReedClan queen

From where she lay, Elmrise eyed the stranger with fright at first. Even though she seemed quite innocent and oblivious, the tortoiseshell queen was all too wary of the lost cat's unexpected appearance. She crept away a little, close to the ground, protective of the unborn babies she carried.

Rabbitfoot regained her posture, yet her tail lowered and lashed slightly. Warningly. "Elmrise, you'd better go," she said. "Go and fetch Swanflight. He'll know what to do." The medicine cat stared at the newcomer. "You. Stay here. You'll be alright, so long as you don't try to fight, or run." Elmrise cautiously backed out of the den, her huge belly making her traverse slow and careful. She approached the white tomcat by the opening to the warrior den, whispered a few quick words, before the deputy's head snapped in the direction of the nursery with his eyes perfect circles.

(Blarg.  Riverstone fails at responding D| )

Non-Clan
Byrd, atop her spot on the picket fence, decided to be a little adventurous today.  She had recently started embarking on little journeys in the forest, and though her housefolk knew of these things, they always felt that she'd be good and come back.
Leaping off of the fence and into the streets, she set a fast pace towards the wood's edge.  Once the huge trees started looming over her, Byrd knew she was in the right spot.  Carefully making her way through the unfamiliar territory, she ventured a few yards in, messed about for fun, and then went right back out.  It wasn't quite scary, nor would Byrd say the forest wasn't intimidating, but today didn't seem like a forest day.
Perhaps later, Byrd thought as she started towards home.

ReedClan
Riverstone mewed a 'thank you' to Jaypaw and nodded his head to the sound of a patrol.  "Sounds great."  However, in truth, he'd really really really like more sleep.  His ears pricked up at the sound of foreign pawsteps, but perhaps it was only his imaginings.  If it was real, maybe the others would've heard it. [Aaaannd he's referring to Kitty.]
As he noticed Swanflight go to get Redwing, Riverstone couldn't help but notice that he hadn't seen her all morning.  Strange...
Turning to Jaypaw, he suggested, "How about we do some training after the border patrol?"

LeafClan
Ashfoot sleeps.

Paleflower was sorting through herbs.

Swanflight
LeafClan deputy

"You left it in the nursery, with Rabbitfoot?"

"She told me to go. The kittypet didn't seem dangerous, just... gone astray." Elmrise was sitting sideways, her bulging stomach pulling her body down to her right. "Swanflight - be kind to her. I don't think she knows about the Clans."

The white tomcat licked her forehead, asking for her to stay. Then he turned and began a vigorous trot to the nursery. As he passed Riverstone and Sandflight, he whispered: "Don't leave just yet. There's a stray kittypet in the nursery. How it got there, I have no idea... Keep out of there for now, but stay... prepared."

He didn't want to cause a panic - for the kittypet or the Clan. The dry, hard-pressed earth melted into sand that was flurried by his paws. He slipped into the protected confines of the den, finding Rabbitfoot facing the stranger. Her body language, her eyes, were unrelenting, but not combative. Swanflight stood close by her, so that they faced the kittypet in a "V" formation.

"Don't be alarmed," the deputy advised sternly. "I am Swanflight, deputy of ReedClan. Who are you, and where are you from?"

The kittypet dipped her head slightly in respect. 'I am Kitty. I came from twolegplace with my friend and have no idea on how to get back.'
She glanced at the cats, whom did not seem at all menancing. However they seemed to suspect her of something. 'Deputy? LeafClan? What are those?' she asked, more confused than before.
Willowleaf sat outside the nursery, her ears catching every spoken word. Was this cat really as innocent as she seemed? With a pregnant Queen, the Clan could take no risks - no risks at all. She sunk her claws into the fresh earth, ready for a battle.
(The Clans can decide if they want to accept the newcomers :3)

Swanflight
ReedClan deputy

"ReedClan," he corrected her. "This Clan constitutes of many cats, each with a role that helps ensure its success, and the wellbeing of each member. Rabbitfoot here is our medicine cat - a healer." As he flicked his tail in her direction, her ear gave a twitch. Not once did she bl
ink. "As deputy I am second-in-command. Our leader is occupied elsewhere at the moment. If you like, we can escort you home, to the borders of the forest."

An idea alighted in his mind, showing in his eyes like a spark as he murmured the faintest of murmurs that only Rabbitfoot and Kitty could have possibly heard: "Or, you may stay with us, and train to become a warrior."

Rabbitfoot whipped around to face him, her face incredulous for a moment, before she saw the reason in his request and approval entered her own ex
pression. Swanflight did not glance at her. "Kitty, come with me. Keep your eyes low, and do not speak unless our leader, Falconstar, does to you."

Swanflight turned to make his way out of the nursery, expecting Kitty to follow. Rabbitfoot lingered, awaiting to follow the kittypet.
