Spidermask's words calmed Sleetstrike enough for the deputy to flatten his fur, though his eyes never left the kittypet's. He was about to vehemently tell off the tom for instantly assuming the proud LeafClan warriors as kittypets, but Spidermask and Swallowtrill stepped in, the she-cat knowing that Sleetstrike was always more... Unfriendly towards non-Clan cats. "We've lived here far longer than you kittypets and your Twolegs, and you've stumbled into our... Home." Swallowtrill added in an even tone. She didn't want to sound to happy, afraid of earning accusing looks from Sleetstrike, nor did she want to use a harsh tone to come off as unfriendly.
---
Ebony saw a fellow kittypet [Byrd] wander off into the forest. She had meowed a greeting to the she-cat, wondering if they were around the same age. Unfortunately, the cat did not seem to hear Ebony's words, jumping off and sneaking into the forest. "Hey!" Ebony shouted after the cat. She was once again left alone on her fence, tail twitching in slight annoyance. Ebony stared off into the woods again, wondering if today was the day that she would finally muster up the courage to leap over the fence. Well, I'm going to do it some day. She thought to herself, bunching up her backleg muscles and leaping off the fence to trail after the kittypet.

OOC: Ahh, I feel sorry for everyone having to read through all that. Basically, Kitty and Puss have both stumbled upon ReedClan and LeafClan. Along with all that is normal border patrol and hunting party planning xD

LeafClan Icefeather narrowed her eyes, all the activity in the camp was making her feel hostile. She padded over to Swallowtrill. In an undertone she hissed: "Sleetstrike may be a little harsh," she nodded towards the kittypet, "but Spidermask should, however uncertain he can be at times, be able to help him work his way through the situation. Can we please get moving?" Icefeather would have loved nothing more than to help with the kittypet, but all the tension was making her fur fluff up.
"We can always discus this in the forest," she added, trying to persuade Swallowtrill. "besides, if we miss out on this, then that'll give the young cats something to do." Icefeather had to stifle a laugh at these words, she always enjoyed it when the kits tried to tell stories. Looking around her, Icefeather could tell most of the clan was up, and sunlight was streaming into the clearing in bright gold bands. Birdsong echoed through the forest, filling her with a sense of satisfaction that her clan would be safe in the paws of newleaf. --- Leafshade stood, hovering uncertainly behind Sleetstrike. The arrival of the kittypet had thrown him off. Bluefrost stood a short distance away, and Leafshade beckoned to him with his tail. He wasn't going anywhere while there was a mangy little kittypet in the clearing, and Bluefrost might as well be informed of his decision. ReedClan Lakeripple dipped her head to Swanflight as he suggested a patrol. She admired Swanflight greatly, he was always kind to her, and he treated her like a normal clan cat, letting her lead patrols and such, and for that, she was very greatful. Standing a bit taller, she looked around the clearing, searching for cats she might take with her. Lakeripple turned away again, and couldn't help but let her gaze drift around the camp, letting it rest on the deputy. She also couldn't help but take in how his white pelt shone in the young sunlight. Lakeripple continued to let her gaze follow the white warrior as he spoke quietly to Sandflight, then continued towards the nursury. She narrowed her eyes, what was he going in there for? Curiously, she darted forward, slinking around the edge of the camp. Soon she had positioned herself just beside the entrance to the nursury, she would question Swanflight when he emerged. --- Echopaw bounced excitedly around his mentor. Feeling that he might trip her, tired as she seemed, he managed to stifle his jumpy paws, and let his fur lie flat. "So we're hunting? Training? What do you have in mind?" Echopaw hadn't really been paying attention when Swanflight gave his orders, and now he was afraid he'd pay for it. He flicked his ears back submissively, watching his mentor curiously, awaiting her reply. He didn't notice any strange things going on in the camp, he was too preoccupied with his thoughts about his day. ((Would anyone mind if Lakeripple had a crush on Swanflight?))

(whoops. Got messed up :b ) Not knowing what to say, Kitty followed the strange forest-cats. Falconstar - what an exotic name, she thought, as she followed the pair near a large, moss-covered den. A crisp voice meowed, "Come in, Swanflight and Rabbitfoot. Who is this newcomer you bring?"

Lakeripple watched with narrowed eyes as The deputy, medicine and another strange cat, smelling like a kittypet, walked out of the nursury. They were walking stiffly towards Falconstar's den. They almost looked as it the didn't want to be seen. Who is that? Lakeripple wondered, the cat had her head down. Curious, Lakripple dropped down, and slunk after the group.
After a few heartbeats of waiting, the cats slipped into Falconstar's den. Lakeripple flattened herself in the shadows, ears pricked forward intently. She remembered the day she had entered the service of her clan.... Snow was falling lightly, Lake, only eight moons old, was mewling, laying wek and crumpled in the snow. She could hear voices, and her pitiful cries grew louder, she clung to the sound of the voices, trying not to slip into the darkness threatening to engulf her. Then a face appeared through the snow, a white face, with green eyes. A much younger Swanflight, before he became deputy, leading a patrol. He called over his shoulder, and a tortishell queen bounded over. Gently, she began to lick Lake, warmer her with strong strokes of her tongue. Afte a while, the queen picked her up, and the group began to stagger back to camp.... Lake was sitting in front of Falconstar. "You may train with us, little one," he spoke to her in his deep, soothing voice.... Lake was sitting in front of Falconstar, lean and strong, her fur fluffed up in excitement. "From this moment on, you shall be know as Lakepaw! Mossdapple, you have wonderful hunting skills, and are kind, willing to lend a paw when in need. You will be Lakepaw's mentor. Lakepaw scurried forward to touch noses with the tortishell queen while the clan called out her new name.... Lakeripple seemed to come out of a deep trance. She took a deep breath to calm herself, and slid closer to the entrance of Falconstar's den. But she smashed her paw against the ground. "Fox-dung!" she snarled, then froze. Surely the cats inside would have heard her?

Kitty raised her head slightly. "I am Kitty. I have stumbled upon this forest by accident with a friend, whom I have no idea where he is now." Falconstar stood up, acknowledging the presence of the kittypet. "Hello there, Kitty. I am Falconstar, leader of ReedClan." He flinched slightly at the thought of a kittypet crossing the borders and trespassing into ReedClan territory and how his proud and brave Clan had reacted. "I trust my Clan hasn't done anything... immoral to you?" Kitty shook her black head. "No. They were just startled at my sudden appearance and told me to come here with them." She flicked her tail at Swanflight and Rabbitfoot, waiting for them to speak up. Bluefrost flicked his tail in annoyance. "A kittypet getting in our way I see? What do we do about it now? We need a patrol and hunting party going, and this Kittypet is just causing trouble." Willowleaf nodded. "We are low on fresh-kill. We need more as soon as possible - we can't run the risk of ReedClan attacking when we are weak." Jaypaw glanced as a few cats took a few more steps into Falconstar's den. Rabbitfoot and Swanflight, as well as a new scent. He nudged his mentor in curiosity, "What is this new scent? It doesn't smell like a Clan cat, but it is a cat for sure."

OOC: I completely agree with you, Guiven. I apologize to everyone if my posts are too big and full of pointless details... Ohyus. And Elmrise shall have her kits now. Sorry it's so soon...
Spidermask LeafClan warrior
The black cat sighed. "Like I said before, I'm happy to go on a... hunting party," he grumbled. It was bad earlier being ignored, but now it was just fruitless time-wasting for the Clan if he wasn't given a duty soon enough. Was this disorganization really natural for LeafClan?
Swanflight ReedClan deputy
He'd led the stranger into Falconstar's den, with Rabbitfoot following the pawsteps on the kittypet behind him. And now he sat facing his leader, with Rabbitfoot putting Kitty in between them again. She sat like a statue, straight, without hunching over.
He took his opportunity to speak. "Somehow Kitty found herself in the nursery. Elmrise was able to get out safely enough-"
"- although it can't be said she wasn't startled..." Rabbitfoot murmured quietly.
"- and Rabbitfoot kept guard before I arrived to investigate. I told Kitty earlier we could help her reach the border of the forest to take her home. There's no certifying that her friend hasn't wondered into LeafClan territory, however."
Swanflight inhaled softly - it was now or never. "I also wondered whether it would be wholly unreasonable to invite Kitty into our midst. Falconstar, we're still a small Clan, when you compare it to the strength we had before leaf-bare. Elmrise's kits would only expand our population but bringing new blood into the Clan would be beneficial to us all as well."
Elmrise ReedClan queen
Elmrise watched Swanflight and Rabbitfoot disappear into Falconstar's sanctum, and in between them was the kittypet. She felt more inquisitive than offended, really - it wasn't like she wouldn't get to sleep later. Elmrise felt sympathy and hope more than anything. Hope she'd find her way home soon enough, if she chose to leave.
But as she turned to head into the nursery, she felt a stir in her belly. A convulsing of her muscles. Her eyes widened, but she refused to stress herself. Carefully, with deliberate slowness, she plodded towards the sandy hideaway, through the tunnel and back into her nest. The smell of the kittypet was unmissable and slightly unsettling - but it was here, or nowhere.

(Sorry I can't color the text, on my phone b ) Falconstar nodded at his deputy. 'True. Elmrise's kits have pure Clan blood running through their veins. A kittypet in our ranks would be interesting - maybe even beneficial. You do have a point there, Swanflight, but how would the rest of the Clan react? I'm not saying I do not wish to have Kitty in our Clan, but there may be objections.' Kitty sat even straighter. 'I may not be the best hunter but I am willing to work toward my goals. I am rather tired of depending on the twolegs for food, and quite often they forget to provide it. Please accept me into your Clan, Falconstar.' A wave of suspicion rose in Jaypaw as he bounded past the leader's den. Was he accepting this kittypet into the dominant Clan hierarchy? He was an apprentice and usually had no say as his older Clanmates often chided him, but he decided to hold back the temptation of barging into the den. Instead he brought a ball of dripping wet moss to Elmrise from Rabbitfoot's den - with Rabbitfoot busy in the leader's den, Elmrise may have been thirsty waiting for the arrival of the trusty medicine cat. 'Here, Elmrise, I got you some moss. How's your belly?' He asked, concerned.

OOC: S'no problem :3 I was also wondering... shall we establish relations between the cats? Like who's who's mother and such? Siblings, aunts, uncles? I'm happy for Elmrise to be the mother of Jaypaw and Echopaw, if that's what you guys would like (since she's had kits before)
Swanflight ReedClan deputy
"Objections," Swanflight echoed. "Of course there will be. But, it's either they oppose your decision, or face a Clan that will only grow if queens fall pregnant. And selective breeding in order to avoid incest would be difficult, since most of us are related, one way or another, or too young to be parents. New blood, I believe, should always be welcomed. Especially if it is willing and determined to try its best." He turned to Kitty, all traces of unfriendliness gone. "I'm all for having Kitty trained as a warrior."
"Me too," Rabbitfoot said warmly. "If anyone choses to discriminate, then it is a personal error of their own to overcome."
Elmrise ReedClan queen
Before Elmrise had settled into her nest, she was greeted by Jaypaw and a lump of moss heavy with water. "Ah, thank you," she said with obvious traces of effort. She was touched by his consideration - he hadn't been commanded to do that, had he?
"I think my kits are coming. Could you please do me one little favour? F-fetch me Rabbitfoot, please." She slumped into her nest of feathers and dried grass. "Please apologize to Falconstar and Swanflight as well. No need to fear, Jaypaw." She then took the moss from the apprentice, sucking and licking it dry with vigour.

( Ooh, nice idea :3 Im ok with it -- more like supporting it.) Jaypaw nodded and, as quickly as he had come, left the nursery. He barged into the nursery, eyes shining like lamps in alarm. "Rabbitfoot!" He gasped. "Elmrise thinks her kits are coming." Falconstar tilted his head at the apprentice who had just burst into his den and flicked his tail dismissively at Rabbitfoot. "Go tend to Elmrise. I can update you later if you wish." Turning to Kitty, he nodded. "Okay then. You shall be trained as a warrior with a more senior warrior as a sort of mentor. I do not wish to make you feel out of place , Kitty, but that is how the Warrior code addresses new warriors. Swanflight?" He turned his attention to his deputy. "Any objections?"

OOC: Swanflight's never been a papa, so he wouldn't have any children. He's open for siblings and other relations, including parents. Rabbitfoot is included here. But Elmrise can be anyone's mother - considering, of course, the age differences work. She's also open to siblingship and such :) Not Spidermask, however (since he's a newcomer to LeafClan)
Rabbitfoot ReedClan medicine cat
Rabbitfoot's eyes shot open wider. "Wh-what, really?" she questioned. "Is she sure? Oh, for goodness' sake, she must be certain. Elmrise doesn't fool about. Jaypaw, tell the others that they are not permitted into the nursery. This includes no-one." The tabby medicine cat nodded once to Falconstar, passed a look to Swanflight that was a hybrid of worry and excitement and reassurance, before turning tail and flying out of the den before she could hear what else Falconstar had to say.
She rocketed down the tunnel in less than two seconds, but slowed considerably to Elmrise's side so as not to startle her. "I received Jaypaw's message," she began quietly, gently, to the queen. She thought of more instructions to give, beginning with the obvious. "Just keep your breathing regular and steady. I'll keep anyone from coming in."
"Yes, I'd appreciate that."
Rabbitfoot sat near Elmrise's head, her neck arched. Elmrise was experienced, the whole Clan knew that - but Rabbitfoot wasn't. Concern just swirled endlessly in her mind, like a stream gushing into a pond that couldn't support all the water.
Swanflight ReedClan deputy
The white tomcat nodded once to Falconstar, both satisfied and pleased with the outcome. "None at all," he purred. Then he paused, deciding to clarify one little thing..
. "Wait... do you mean any objections against me... being her mentor?"

Falconstar eyed the white tom in respect. 'Of course not. You would be an excellent mentor for Kitty. Kitty, any objections?' He took great care in selecting mentors ,however Swanflight fit the deion of a perfect mentor so well he couldn't help feeling a little bias. "Not at all! I'm delighted to have such an experienced warrior be my mentor.' Kitty purred. Her eyes shone with admiration and respect. Jaypaw danced around the camp, yowling, 'No cat's allowed in the nursery! Elmrise is having her kits!' he felt like he was of high rank, being able to command the Clan and use such a confident tone.

Swanflight ReedClan deputy
He blinked a few times, as if hoping the motion of his eyelids would help clear away the humble surprise in his eyes. "Then by all means, I will accept Kitty as my apprentice," he said with gratefulness detectable in his tone, but there was a slight element of distraction, too. His best friend was on the brink of giving birth. He felt like there was a long thread connecting his brain to the events in the nursery, and that thread was being incessantly tugged, pulling his attention away. But he kept his focus in Falconstar's den, his voice quietly firm. "Yes, I will accept you as my apprentice."
Outside, he heard Jaypaw shrieking the news aloud. He couldn't help but awkwardly twitch an ear in realization of how irritable Elmrise might find the noise, but it was so typical of the apprentice his whiskers flared in amusement.

Falconstar sighed. 'Elmrise will be okay. Calm down. You've been my Clanmate so long I could probably recongize you even if you carried a different scent. I can't promise Rabbitfoot will allow for you to stay in the nursery , but you could stay outside and keep watch or something. As well as get a bite of food, you haven't seem to have eaten since the early morning.' (who plays Riverstone again? :o )

[[ Dragon - Maybe they could just come out of their dens/back from hunting and check out the kittypet, Puss? ]]
Swallowtrill nodded towards Icefeather, side-stepping to Sleetstrike. "Hey, Sleetstrike." She whispered into his ear. "I'm going to lead the morning patrol now, if that's alright." Without waiting for a reply, Swallowtrill darted back towards Icefeather and Willowleaf, nodding at them as a sign to start heading off. She marched in the direction of the exit, glancing back to take on last look at the kittypet. Great Starclan. She thought. A kittypet has managed to find our camp! Swallowtrill's mind wandered off, thinking about how easy it might really be to slip into the LeafClan camp.
---
Sleetstrike's eyes flashed at Bluefrost's impatience. "Leafshade, lead the hunting patrol off." He mewed. "I can handle this." The deputy's eyes quickly darted towards the leader's den, wondering what in StarClan was taking Pinestar such a long time.
[[ Neh, sorry for Sleetstrike's short post. ]]

OOC: I think Guiven plays Riverstone, but I could be mistaken. Also. Tld. I've been meaning to say this for a while... .... your siggy is hypnotic @.@
Swanflight ReedClan deputy
Swanflight dipped his head, and a soft chuckle escaped his mouth at Falconstar. The leader was telling the truth - it wasn't worth denying. The leader probably knew him the best, aside from Elmrise. The three of them were some of the oldest in the Clan as it was now, since the elders and the famine... well, they'd been apprentices together, received their warrior names around the same time.
No, it wasn't worth denying that Swanflight's nature was a mystery to every member of his Clan. "The offer is tempting, but I've volunteered to accompany Sandflight and Lakeripple on hunts. There aren't enough cats as it is to make a sizeable border patrol as well as a hunting party." He glance at Kitty. "What shall become of you now, I wonder... If you truly want to stay with us, you will receive your apprentice name at moonhigh tonight. You have the whole day to think over your offer to stay."
As much as he wanted to guard his friend, he knew Elmrise would support his decision to go hunting instead of sitting stern-faced at the end of the nursery tunnel, hissing at anyone who wanted updates on the birthing. And besides, if he caught anything, he could give it to his friend - her first meal after each kit was born. That sounded like a better idea.
