[ I'll hold off my LeafClan ones for now. ] Jaypaw eyed the small writhing body as it was carried away by Rabbitfoot. It looked so frail, so fragile. How did Rabbitfoot, a cat that had no kits, feel? Holding that little warm body that was dependent on her and it's mother? Sandflight nodded at the deputy, and without waiting for a reply, headbutted Redwing around the corner of the nursery den. Kitty bounded past Sandflight and Redwing and into the nursery. She flicked her tail at Elmrise. "Hello there, are you okay?" She asked, concerned. Falconstar sighed - the sudden wave of events made it impossible for him to think, for him to carry out the apprentice ceremony that Kitty was waiting for. He felt relieved - as the previous deputy he always had a very heavy workload on his shoulders. He thought of Swanflight, having to hold the chaotic Clan together, and sighed.

Rabbitfoot ReedClan Medicine cat
Having understood how she could keep Yewkit warm, Rabbitfoot began to brush him with quick, precise strokes of her tongue. To her pleasure, he didn't protest, or squirm, or try to wriggle away. He simply lay there, as if appreciating the gesture.
When Kitty enquired to Elmrise, with obvious worriment in every word, the medicine cat looked up from what she was doing. Rabbitfoot respected the newcomer's concern, but her tone was still strained. "She's doing fine. But listen out for that fox."
At that moment, Elmrise contorted with effort again, and the medicine cat edged closer, picking up Yewkit - with more ease and skill this time - and settling him aside. Not so far that he was at risk, however. Rabbitfoot peered, hungry for knowledge, as Elmrise cleaned her secondborn. It was so dark it could almost have been black, but there were spots and streaks of fine ginger. It was a tortoiseshell, like Elmrise, but lacking any white. It was immobile.
Then it trembled, its head quaking, and its maw opened, bright pink and demanding.
"She must be female," Elmrise sighed, reclining. "Male tortoiseshells hardly exist... Come closer, little one." She slid closer to the kit, sniffing and licking her thoroughly. The kit snuffled int her side. "My first daughter." Yewkit struggled closer, hardly moving, but neither Elmrise nor Rabbitfoot worried; he was lying across his mother's paw, gaping for food.
OOC: The female kit will be my sister's :)
Swanflight ReedClan deputy
Without waiting for a response, the white tomcat charged out the entrance, turning to one side to follow the border of the camp. He crept through the grasses of the dune towards the drooping willow - the landmark for the nursery - and lowered himself. His speed did not decline however, and he streaked through the green like a trail of living snow. Swanflight jutted out of the stalks with painful clarity.
He'd heard Lakeripple's warning, but hadn't expected her to be in the situation she'd landed herself in. In one of the rare, scraggly trees of their territory, he spotted a patch of stripy grey, clutching by her claws in the branches. At the bottom of the tree was.... no, were, there were two! Circling and watching Lakeripple with their mesmerising eyes. It wasn't common for foxes to prey on cats, but they must have been attracted to Elmrise's birth-smells, seeking kits to eat. Taking their chances against an entire troop of cats? They must have been desperate.
Swanflight lay low, praying to StarClan that his warriors would arrive swiftly, and that the tree did not give way under Lakeripple's weight.

ReedClan Echopaw watched Rabbitfoot curiously, ears strained for the slightest hint the fox might be near. "Can I help?" he asked the medicine cat. He was very interested in his new siblings, and eager to get to know them. These were childish thoughts, as the kits were still quite young, but Echopaw didn't care. As far as he was concerned, these little cats needed his protection, and he figured he should get to know them.
Echopaw crouched again, slidding carefully along the moos-lined floor. Tentatively, he reached out his muzzle to sniff Yewkit. The little cat smelled warm and sweet. Echopaw dearly wished he was already a warrior, maybe then Falconstar would have let him mentor this little kit. Echopaw had no idea, really, what this cat's personality would be like, but he'd already taken quite a liking to his new brother. --- Lakeripple gazed fearfully at the foxes below her. She had managed to claw her way into the lower hanging branches. But they were very brittle and thin--this tree was a snap-willow. She knew it could break quite suddenly, very, very soon. And drop me right into the mouth of that fox, Lakeripple thought desperately with a shudder. Then she saw Swanflight crouched in the bright green grass. Lakeripple could have yowled again with sheer joy, but she kept her voice quiet for the deputy's safety. If she called out loud, the foxes might be startled. That might cause them to be more wary, and they would surely scent Swanflight, if not see his white pelt. Instead, she motioned with her tail, flicking it in a repeated pattern. If he could distract the foxes, she would leap down on the mother's back, hopefully before the branches broke under her weight.

Rabbitfoot ReedClan medicine cat
The tabby she-cat purred with a new warmth. With two kits born without any real complications, despite the prowling danger outside the nursery, she felt a surge of optimism. But it was tainted a little with urgency. These kits could be living on borrowed time. "Nothing I should think," she mewed gently to the apprentice. No doubt he was gripped with interest over his new siblings.
Yewkit seemed to feel the soft flushing of his older brother's close breath. The kit's blind face angled and tilted to face Echopaw, touch and smell being his only truly reliable senses. "Echopaw, he must already like you," Elmrise whispered with a quiet thrill. "It's as if he knows who you are..." She gazed, proudly, at her sons. Both from her first litter, and both her oldest living offspring. Although she saw them almost every day, watching them serve and obey the Clan, there was a new distance between the queen and her oldest children since their apprenticeship. To see them with her, with their growing family now, made her ever-more protective of them.
"Rabbitfoot, I believe one more is on the way..." she sighed, kneading her bed. "I think, only one more. And then our little family is complete, in the outside world."
Swanflight ReedClan deputy
He watched the branches buckle slightly. Such brittle bones. Not like the steadfast body of the nursery-willow. He flinched in desperation. Was there.... really nothing he could do? Nothing at all?
Then his body went quite still, and his fur settled, and his eyes grew as hard and cold as the moon. Still crouched, Swanflight adjusted his form into a tense poise, ready to charge. He wasn't a giant cat, but he was of considerable size. If Leakripple helped him, they could probably fend off the foxes. Just the two of them.
Swanflight let out a rugged screech, dashing out of his hiding-place. The foxes jumped and spun around as if on ice, and surprise seemed to flicker on their faces as they saw the raging white cat thunder towards them. He weaved through the tussocks of grass and bounded over many of them, displaying the strength in his legs with each leap. It looked a little comical, really, with his tail as madly inflated as a squirrel's. But the foxes appeared to recognize it as a kind of frenzied war dance. The younger one's body coiled in intimidation, still mortified as the deputy raged closer.
Then he sprang at the mother, not making contact because she'd bounced backwards to dodge his attack. Swanflight proceeded to bat and leap and hiss, swiping at her nose and face, only making contact every few swipes, leaping into the air like a displaying crane. Both fighters hardly touched one another. The vixen snapped, and soon, Swanflight had wrestled between mother and son. His back was vulnerable, unguarded.
"Lakeripple!" he shrieked. "Come and join me now! We can scare them off!"

OOC: No problem at all :)
Basically, in ReedClan, two foxes have been seen skulking around the camp. They've been supposedly attracted there by a queen called Elmrise, who's kind of in the middle of giving birth. The apprentices, Kitty, and the medicine cat are in le nursery with her, keeping guard. Meanwhile, Swanflight is trying to help Lakeripple (stuck up a tree outside the camp) fend off the foxes whilst the rest of the warriors join in the scrap.
As for LeafClan, I'm not entirely sure. I know a kittypet has joined them - Puss - but since I only have one character in that Clan (who doesn't get up to much xD) I'm not certain about a lot of things that happen in it.

Echopaw had eyes only for his brother. The way that little pink mouth opened in order to draw in Echopaw's scent meant the world to him. Very gently, the apprentice reached out a paw, and brushed it against his brother's soft belly, trying to tickle it. At the same time he breathed on the little cat to keep it warm, allowing his breath to billow from his nostrils.
Echopaw turned to look over his shoulder at Jaypaw, who sat rigid and stiff, with a faraway look in his eyes. "Hey, come on, stop day-dreaming," Echopaw nudged his elder brother. Then he focused his attention back on his newest siblings, keeping one eye on Yewkit at all time. "There's another one coming?" he asked, looking up at Rabbitfoot. --- Lakeripple felt the branches begin to crumble beneath her. It was now, or never. A fall might break her spine, she'd have to jump. She tensed her muscles, and prepared to heed Swanflight's request for help. The branches snapped as Lakeripple flung herself from them, she landed hard on the mother fox's back. The impact shook her whole body, dazed, she went temperarily limp from shock, her limbs refused to work. Growling, the fox shook her off, but Lakeripple had come to her senses. Hissing and spitting, she hurled herself once more at the fox, clawing here and there, but rarely making contact. The mother was quick, and had obviously fought cats before. Lakeripple gave a slight growl of surprise as she felt herself bump into Swanflight. They were back to back. "I don't think this is scaring them," she hissed. "The mother has definitely fought cats before."

[[I think I'm going to start them in the camp, and work from there. :)]]
Reedclan
Palestripe paced nervously around the clearing, flinching at even the slightest movement. She opened her mouth to taste the air, but the foul scent of fox filled her mouth. She continued pacing until she heard scrabbling noises and growls. She dropped instinctively, the dirt sticking to her fur as it touched the ground. She crept into a bush, ignoring the thorns that tore at her cheek. She watched as Lakeripple and Swanflight fight the foxes. The foxes are going to scent me sooner or later. She thought. She crept out of the bush and threw herself at the vixen, but didn't aim properly, and flew over into the ground, landing clumsily as the wind was knocked from her briefly. She stood up, and putting her weight on her back paws as she aimed her front paws at the vixen, making a claw mark, but failing to do much damage. The vixen swiped at Palestripe, who scrambled back. "I'm no use." she hissed, "I'll go get Greypaw." she darted back through the bushes, as she went through a bit of the territory before heading back to camp to try and divert the foxes if they ever found the scent, or if they were to follow. She padded to the apprentice den, and hissed loudly, "Greypaw! Get out here right now!" A low growl rumbled from the grey apprentices throat as Palestripe explained the situation.
"You want me to help fight foxes?" Greypaw half meowed, half yawned. Palestripe nodded sadly as Greypaw said lightly, "You too clumsy for this scuffle?" the pale warrior hissed, as Greypaw flattened his ears. She led him near where she saw the foxes last and where she saw Lakeripple and Swanflight. He nodded along the way as she told him about things. Palestripe whispered, "You fought like a warrior when you were training, let's see if you can do it for real." Greypaw nodded again, as Palestripe nudged him into the bush. Greypaw let out a small sigh as he crawled through the bush, trying to see where he was actually going. "Quiet!" he heard Palestripe hissed as he stopped in the middle of the bush. Hopefully someone hadn't heard him.
Leafclan
Blackpaw rolled around in her sleep, moss sticking to her fur, letting out pitiful wails in her sleep. She kicked her paws violently in the air, like she was trying to root them to the ground. Her wailing paused, but turned into low moans.
Whitenose slept peacefully in his sleep, curled up neatly in a ball with a few other warriors enjoying the morning with a bit of extra sleep. Hearing hushed mews from outside apparently about an apprentice. Whitenose opened his eyes. He looked around. The den was fine, so what was this all about. He stumbled sleepily into the middle of camp. He padded to the apprentice's den as he heard a shrill wail as his fur stood on end and his ears flattened. He looked into the den, as he saw Blackpaw rolling around. No other apprentices in the den. She was the only apprentice, after all. "Wake up Blackpaw!" he meowed loudly.

Swanflight ReedClan deputy
The white tomcat registered Lakeripple's words, and his attack-stance deepend. He arched his form, turned his eyes into glassy black orbs, and growled at the cub again. "We cannot give up," he said. "If we want the Clan to be spared, then we must tire out before them!"
The cub glared at him doubtfully, but when he made a jab for Swanflight with his teeth, his claws flew and dashed for the fox's face, its jaws clacking shut. He sprang away, confused, intimidated, until Swanflight was certain he was out of the fighting range. He stared woefully at his mother.
But Palestripe suddenly clamoured in, out of nowhere. She made a futile attempt at a clawing for the vixen, then disappeared quite as suddenly as she had joined in. She mentioned something about her apprentice, Greypaw, and alarm bubbled wildly in Swanflight.
"No!" Swanflight bellowed after her, but she was gone before she could make a reply. He spat angrily. Foxes were foes for warriors, not apprentices! "Lakeripple, keep an eye out for Greypaw. He must not be here!"
The vixen had cast a look for the strange intruder in the fight, but once Palestripe had retreated, the fox lost interest. By now, however, her attacks had lessened - with the decline of her cub's effort, she had begun to sink farther and farther away, the interest dying in her pretty yellow eyes. Swanflight never hastened his strikes, however, and continued to hiss and spit, no longer swiping as much, but making quick little charges at her as if electricity was powering him. The thought that Greypaw was about to be dragged into this battle filled him with with a fear he didn't usually experience.

Greypaw's fur stood on end. These foxes were huge, and the cubs were bigger than him. Palestripe crawled into the bush with him. "Now!" she hissed, as she sprang out of the bushes. Greypaw did the same, and veered around the vixen, hissing.
Palestripe is a mousebrain if she thinks I can fight foxes! He thought. Palestripe flanked him, her eyes full of fear and horror. Palestripe sprang forward into the fox, and clinging onto it's shoulder, biting until the fox flung her off, as she slammed against the ground, going limp. No... Greypaw thought with horror. Palestripe got up though, as she caught her breath. Palestripe glanced at Greypaw with her ex pression guarded. What is she thinking? He thought.

Lakeripple snarled at the two cats. "Paleflower, what were you thinking bringing Greypaw here?" she hissed angrily. "Go back, there isn't room! Paleflower, take Greypaw and get out of here!" there was a furry in Lakeripple like she'd never experienced before. These two cats could endanger the future of the clan if they managed to get themselves killed. Lakripple wasn't used to giving orders, but at the same time, she was only a few moons younger, yet much more experienced then these two cats.
Her fur sticking up like she'd been struck by lightning, Lakripple turned away from the two cats, willing Paleflower to take Greypaw away. She hadn't noticed the ex pression on the she-cat's face. Insteadnd, Lakripple turned her attention on the fox cub, who had backed away into the bushes, its eyes wide with fear, its pupils round .She a great snarl, and lunged at the cub, knocking to the ground. She pinned it down heavily. She decided not to kill it, but lowered her face to its ear and hissed in a threatening manor. The cub whimpered under her grip, and Lakeripple leaped lightly back into the long grass. The cub gave her a fearful look before it turned and streaked off through the forest, heading for the border. Lakeripple could only hope its mother would follow.

Reedclan Palestripe nodded as she flicked her tail at Greypaw. Greypaw shot a glance at Lakerippe, unsure. "Greypaw, now!" Palestripe hissed. Greypaw's tail drooped sulkily as he followed Palestripe back to camp. Palestripe padded into the warriors den, curling up in a balll and watching the camp stir. She watched as Greypaw sat with his tail curled over his paws, watching the tunnel that led out to dirtplace. Palestripe closed her eyes as she relaxed in the den.
Greypaw sat in the middle of camp, wishing he could go back and help. He looked back into the warriors den, and Palestripe was happily napping. He padded through the tunnel to dirtplace as he heard crackling of leaves. He stopped dead. He watched in horror as the fox cub that had been chased away lift it's head and look at Greypaw. His first instict was to run, but he'd just put the clan under more stress. He hissed and arched his back, hoping it would scare it off. The cub stared back curiously. Greypaw jumped onto the cub and bit into it's ear. The cub threw Greypaw off, as it bit down hard on Greypaw's flank. Greypaw struggled to regain his balance and get to his feet. Starclan help me! He prayed silently. The fox cub stood over Greypaw, as Greypaw closed his eyes, preparing for the worst. The cub simply sniffed him, then scampered off. Greypaw stood up and shook himself. Palestripe isn't going to like this. He thought. But, I left camp to help Lakeripple and Swanflight. Or atleast try to.

Swanflight ReedClan
Before the deputy could snap an order to the careless warrior and her uneasy-looking apprentice, the silver tabby by his side had already given the command to head home. Swanflight said nothing, but instead gave Palestripe a very hard glare, swimming with disapproval.
He watched the two cats retreat for a moment, before he heard a scuffle beside him. Suddenly his companion was pinning down the fox yearling with her snarling face in his. Had she intended to kill it in the first place, Swanflight doubted that even Lakeripple would be capable of killing such a large creature. The fox was smaller than its mother but it still dwarfed an adult cat. But Swanflight watched, impressed, as the cub disappeared into the brush.
Then, quite miraculously, the vixen slipped away into the shadows too. But not after throwing Swanflight an ex pression glittering with dark intent. Her gait was not defeated.
Silence panned out between Swanflight and Lakeripple, except for the cheerful piping of birdsong, distant in the denser forestry across the river. His tail twitched. "You fought superbly," he praised quietly. "I will remember this, when Falconstar wants to pair mentors with Elmrise's kits." He hung his head, tired. "But now we must return to camp, this instant. Paleflower's mistake is one that cannot afford to be repeated, and she needs correcting."
(OOC: Just a heads-up - she is not heading for the den, okay? Missus Fox has had her share of kitty-claws today.... Guiven pointed out the cub's headed for le border)
Rabbitfoot ReedClan medicine cat
The tabby she-cat's ears flicked rigid at the thudding of bodies tumbling, scuffing the ground, soft exclamations of pain. She leapt to her paws, passing a glare at the apprentices to stay put, but before she could step out, she heard a soft brushing of foliage, followed by silence.
Rabbitfoot pounced into the open, failing to suppress her fur bristling. Greypaw stood there. The fur on one side of his body was unnaturally ruffled, with little gauge-marks of red from where teeth had almost torn him in two. Her mouth opened. "Where's the fox?" she yowled. "It's gone? Has it gone? Greypaw, how did you survive? Hurry to my den, this instant!" She spun fiercely around for the direction of her quarters, fully aware Elmrise was vulnerable without her. And where, in the name of StarClan, is his cursed mentor?
"Echopaw, call me if Elmrise needs help. I think the fox has gone for good, but be careful nevertheless if you come out.

Lakeripple sighed, and flopped carefully down on her side. She needed to rest her paws for a little bit. Raising her head, she noticed for the first time the deep scratches on her flank. Oh, so now they start to sting, Lakeripple thought annoyed.
Swanflight's quiet murmur of praise and frustration at Paleflower's rushing in seemed to come to Lakeripple from a long ways away. Opening her mouth, she tried to speak, but the word caught in her throat. Her whole bady ached, her vision swam in and out of focus. If she didn't snap to it, she knew she'd pass out. With a groan that didn't seem to belong to her, Lakeripple forced herself up. The sunlight seemed even brighter than usual, and she closed her eyes as they began to water. For the past few moments, Lakripple had only been able to think of the most recent events of fighting the foxes. Now everything came back in a rush. "Ow," she muttered, her head feeling as if she'd banged it on a tree. Lakripple rose unsteadily to her paws, her legs shaking uncontrolably. --- Echopaw nodded and watched Rabbitfoot go, alarmed at Greypaw's sudden appearance and wounds. The younger apprentice often seemed to attract trouble to him. No, Echopaw corected himself, Greypaw went looking for it. Echopaw stood and briefly stretched his cramped limbs, before ducking and burrying his muzzle in Yewkit's soft fur. The little kit had fallen asleep. Echopaw crouched again and snuggled closer to his mother and brother, sharing his warmth.

Greypaw followed behind, clenching his teeth to keep himself from yowling in pain.

OOC: Oopsie, my bad. Apologies for that, I know someone else plays a character called Paleflower. I'll try to remember my mistake xD Also, you'd better check who his mentor is. Greypaw's bio doesn't mention anything about it.
Swanflight ReedClan deputy
Alarm was all he felt. Lakeripple seemed very unresponsive - as if her hearing had become muffled. The deputy watched her for a moment. He noticed the exhaustion quivering in her legs, the light scratches from where a fox had swiped at her. That seemed odd. Foxes tended to use their teeth....
Not that improved her situation any more! Sandfight neared the silver warrior, sniffing intently for blood. "Try to stand," he suggested. "The sooner we get back to camp, the sooner you can rest properly."
Rabbitfoot ReedClan medicine cat
Rabbitfoot rounded on Palestripe suddenly. Her yellow eyes scoured over the lean she-cat's orange fur, vexed. "Excuse me?" she challenged. "What do you mean, he should have stayed in camp? He did! He defended it! Greypaw fought the fox and scared it away, presumably - protecting the nursery and Elmrise's kits. And where were you, might I ask? Napping in the warrior's den?"
Rabbitfoot leaned closer to Palestripe, so that their whiskers were on the brink of touching. "You are in no place to scold him. Now keep watch out here, until Swanflight or Falconstar return."
