"I've been better," Kyaan said with a half-hearted laugh. He smiled weakly and rubbed his arm awkwardly. "Is... Is that an egg?" He asked skeptically. Though, the question was rhetorical. He immediatly ripped the the bow off of the box and looked inside. An egg was in there too. Only, hiss egg wasn't green and brown. It was dark blue and silver like his box. He held it up, with both hands, to his eyes. Instantly, his heart started to beat a bit faster. Like Kachina, the boy then tapped his egg. It responded with not a squeak, but more of a growl. This made Kyaan laugh lightly.

Kachina grinned shyly over at him then turned back to the egg. She wrapped it in a small towled she found on her bed and rubbed her hands over the top of the egg, feeling it wriggle and begin to crack at the top. She smiled. She had done this when raising chickens as a little girl. The eggs here had already been incubated fully. They just needed the right person to come and hatch them. After a few minutes, a scaled, winged green, brown, and white creature sat on her lap, grinning up at her. "Cossatot." She said aloud, naming the creature. At the word, the dragon blew a puff of smoke out of his nose and into Kachina's face.

"Woah!" Kyaan said, almost dropping his egg as he watched a small creature, that appeared to be a dragon, sit on Kachina's lap. He stood up, and walked over to the bed opposite him. Sitting down, the boy sat less than a foot away from the girl. He looked over at the dragon, wondering if he could do the same for his egg. "Can... Can you do that to my egg?" He asked her, smiling brightly.

Kachina nodded, smiling brightly. She wrapped his egg in the towl and rubbed the rop. The cracks spread quicker this time and Kachina handed the egg back to Kyann before it shattered. She ran her fingers through Cossatot's, who she nicknamed Tot, white mane. He curled up in her lap and made a purring sound deep in his chest. Kachina grinned.

Kyaan grinned deeply when the Kachina handed him the egg. For a moment, he forgot all his worries, and his pain. His face was etched with happiness. The egg fell apart, a blue-gray dragon broke the peices and sent them flying. You could tell it's wings were already stronger than most. "Hello Pretty..." He cooed to his dragon. "I think I'll call you Allegra," He said with a grin. He turned to Kachina and smiled. He gave her a quick side-hug and went back to his dragon. "Thank you so much!" He said this to the girl, but was looking at Allegra.

Kachina's heart fluttered when he hugged her and she grinned hugely. "Not a problem." She said and laid back on her bed, lounging in the soft folds of sheets. (Homg. Failure. BAD BLOOD! *slaps self* Lol)

Kyaan smiled at the girl and got up. He walked over to his own bed and placed Allegra on his pillow; he didn't need it. The boy got under his covers as well. He smiled softly, not even bothering to think about what happened: The kidnapping, the injections, the Dragons. And he didn't want to think about things such as: his family, his friends, what would happen tomorrow, and how things were going to end out. He was just wondering where the other subjects were.

After recovering from the majority of the pain, picked up his box and slunk to a bed in the far corner. He opened his box and stared down at the clean, white egg. It had swirling designs of silver and gold. Copying what he had seen the others do, he wrapped a blanket around the egg and rubbed the top gently. Small cracks began to form along the designs, and the shells soon fell away revealing a small white creature with shocking blue eyes. Instead of the scales that were present on other dragons in books, this one was covered in a white fur. She stared up at him, their eyes locking. Volo swore that her eyes were swirling with a unimaginable power. "I'll call you Sakura." He whispered, stroking the small creature's head. As he did, all pain was forgotten and the horrors of the whole night fading like a bad dream.

The pain fading away slowly from his blood, Ryuu could feel his heart's beating slowly start to go back to normal. He rubbed his wrists as they were released from the bed, and glared at the man who had injected him. The man gave some weird mischevious smile, waving the syringe in the air, before walking away. "What a creep," Ryuu muttered, before another man came in and led him out of the small lab-like room. The man was holding a small package, wrapped tightly in pale, frosty blue paper, tied with a simple darker blue bow. The man stopped suddenly, threw Ryuu the parcel and pushed Ryuu into a room. A bit annoyed now as the door slammed into his face, Ryuu huffed, before staring at the small box in his arms. He slowly lifted the top of the box, going over to an empty bed near a window. Sitting down, his legs crossed unerneath him, Ryuu stared at the egg. "What is..." he trailed off, poking the egg with his index finger. It was cold to the touch, and immediatly made a hissing noise, before starting to shake. Veign-like crack started forming on the egg's frosty surface, and just when he thought the egg was going to explode or something, a small, pale blue icey had poked out from the top. And then, launched itself at Ryuu, biting his ear. "Ouch!" |
