"Thats how I think of it. I wish we knew what in the world was going on besides a circus that's  giving off this pull." Colette said pondering.

Darius perked an eyebrow, crossing his arms and leaning back slightly. "What?" He hissed, watching the light-blonde haired female. "Do you expect me to be able to do some card trick, too?" He looked down at Charade.

"And you've never shown me that trick before. Why not?" He whined the last sentence, bending his knees so he could speak to Charade at eyelevel. Nathan snickered.

"Haha." He laughed quietly. Nathaniel smacked him in the back of the head, and he gasped. "Nath!"

"Nathan." Nathan looked away, muttering something about not getting enough respect. Then Darius clapped his hands once, straightening.

"Thats right, thats right! I forgot to introduce myself!" He exclaimed, clasping his hands together. "Darius. How do you do?" Darius extended a hand out to the small female, smiling slightly.

"Be nice, Sir. And it is quite basic, not for any of my preformances or for any means to impress." Charade looked up. "Well who do we have here?" She asked, amusment playing in her violet eyes. "I am Charade, resident here at Circus Gothica." A smile curved along her lips. "It seems like we're getting pretty popular here, eh Sir?" Charade had always called Darius Sir, ever since she joined the Circus, although she didn't really care if he liked it or not. "Sir here has a tendancy to give a very...friendly welcome, sometimes." She put her arm around Darius's shoulder casually, the way friends sometimes do after giving him a stern look. Even if he's her boss, he should be nice to the guests.

Dude, when I was in fourth grade I was...eight. O>O )

Darius rubbed an eye. It did annoy him that Charade called him "Sir," and he was about ready to snap. Just once more...

"Friendly? Is that what you people call it?" He placed his hands on his hips. "You people creep me out." He shuddered. "And I'm supposed to be the creepy one." Darius laughed, slapping his hand over his mouth when he did.

"Oh noes. I'm not supposed to laugh until the show starts! Fail." He shrugged, removing his hand from over his mouth. The area around his mouth was slightly red, but it disappeared quickly, as if it had never been there. "Anywho, children~ I might as well be off. The first show is always the grandest, and that means quite a bit of preparation." He chuckled.

"And so I'm off!" Darius walked away, leaving Charade behind.

"What is with that guy?" Nathan asked Charade, cupping his mouth as if he was trying to make sure that only Charade heard. "He kisses everyone but me and that white-haired girl, and then leaves?" Nathaniel shuddered.

"Worst first kiss ever. His lips tasted like wine." He said, shuddering again.

"And how do you know how wine tastes?" It was Darius. "I'm still here, okay? Just because I walk away, doesn't mean I'm not still able to hear you." He crossed his arms again, almost dropping his red jeweled staff. Nathaniel hugged his brother protectively, as if to keep this weirdo from...kissing him.

((...Pretend she's in fourth grade :3 XD She kinda acts older than she is though, and I'm not sure if I'll stick with Sofie...we'll have to see. Just pretend she's exploring a little))

Charade smiled. "It's his way of saying hello, I guess. We each have our special qualities." Her voice had a hint of an Estonian accent. "I have cat eyes, we have a boy with cat features. His exhuberance helps cultivate ourselves though. It keeps us from being depressed." She flicked her wrist and her last card appeared. "Feel free to get tickets. The first show is the best." A sly smile crossed her face. "I need to watch you though, can't have you sneaking peeks at our top material now can we?" Charade smiled, showing that it wasn't a serious thing. Her head cocked and she looked behind her, towards a grey field, eyes confused. "I can feel something."

Tears streamed down Holly's face. "I can't take it anymore, Christopher." She said to the white stuffed rabbit in her hands. Dry gr*censored*es tickled her legs as she ran through the field, away from her home. Her mother had just yelled at her again, and she couldn't take it any longer. She was running away. But Holly knew this place. It was where she came at late night. Christopher would tell her to. There he would show her tricks on plants and animals. The sky was turning grey though. In the distance were the train tracks, she would go there and take a break. At the top of a hill she collapsed. It was about a mile from her house, continuosly running. Curling into a little ball, she clutched Christopher, her tears making her small frame shake. But she would recover, like always, but stronger. Then she would really get out of here.

Darius stood over a small, frail looking body. "Oh dear. What do we have here?" He bent down, wiping a tear from Holly's cheek. "Did someone make you sad, dear?" He asked, tilting his head. He sat her up, frowning. "Its not good for a pretty face like yours to be tainted from a frown. Why not smile? Turn that frown upside down?" Darius smiled.

"See? Like that." He patted Holly's hair, still smiling.

Almost as if he had been summoned, the catboy appeared from behind the train, his tail flicking like wild. "Where's Darius?  I swear to god, I heard him call me." He asked, his ears twitching. Nathan stared at him, his jaw dropped.

"Nath, look at that! He really does have cat features!" He exclaimed, pulling at his brother's sleeve. Nath, sighed, nodding.

"Oh, great. Why didn't you tell me there were kids here already, Charade? Then I would've avoided you." He sighed, his tail flicking angrily. Nathan continued to stare at the catboy.

"You'd think I'd lie?" Charade said to Nathan, faking innocence, then smiled. "I didn't see you when I came by." She shrugged. "We've still more to show them later. When does the show start, exactly?" Excitement rose in the pit of her stomach at the thought. Even though she had to go out in front of an audience, Charade loved preforming. "And I don't know where Sir is, so don't be mad at me."

Holly snivvled and looked at the man, then at Christopher. "Who are you?" She asked coldly. "Christopher says not to trust you yet. But I am Holly."

"And Christopher would be the bunny?" Darius asked, blinking. "And I'm Darius. Since I need to gain your trust, I'll tell you my real name. Criss." He smiled, touching the stuffed animal lightly. "Its really Christopher, just like your bunny's. But since I don't really like it, I spell my name C-R-I-S-S." Darius looked back up at the girl.

"Don't call me Christopher, though. Thats your bunny's name. Don't call me Criss either. Call me Darius." He grinned, shrugging slightly. "Thats my show name."

"Who said I was mad at you?" The catboy asked, blinking. He blinked at the teenagers, wondering why they were still near the freight train. "And shouldn't you be somewhere else?" Nathaniel frowned. His personality did resemble a cat's, but why did he have ears.

"Like where?" Nathan asked, tilting his head. Nathaniel slapped the back of his head, and Nathan winced. "Ow."

"No one did, just for future reference." Charade shrugged, then looked at the twins and the two remaining girls. "Yes, yes. The show should start soon. Go get tickets and peanuts. Oh, and I like to be thrown roses at the end of my show, purple ones, if they have them tonight." She said, motioning to the front of the circus tent, then walked back to Ritsuka. "Tonight should be fun." Her voice was low enough for only him to hear, although she was mostly speaking to herself.

Holly narrowed her eyes. "Christopher doesn't like to be touched." She growled. "He only lets me hold him." A crow cawed in the distance and the gr*censored* around her started to dry up. Suddenly, it stopped, and Holly looked at Christopher. "He says we need to follow you." Her voice was still cold, but she trusted Christopher, and obviously Darius said the right thing. "Take us to the Circus."

"In the front. Here, I'll show you. There's a gift stand that sells all kinds of stuff, which is sometimes stocked with purple roses. I'll check that out too." Quickly, Charade ran into the tent, grabbed a pair of shades from her prep room, and ran back out, the shades covering her feline-esque eyes. She went ahead, not looking to see if the kids were following her, and found the ticket counter. The kids would see it if they followed her, it was covered in bright lights, as all circus ticket counters are. Instead, she headed to the gift store, to see if they had blue roses in stock, which they did.
