"Hmm... Maybe. Whatever it is,I like it.",Shadow replied and then placed it on the tip of her nose. She balanced it carefully in place and giggled. "It tickles!",she exclaimed and paid no attention to what was in front of her. Her feet stumbled over the new splice and a wild pokemon. She made a grunting sound as she fell and quickly grabbed the golden leaf.

The wild pokemon hopped out of the way as Shadow stumbled by and it instantly became offended by what she did for whatever reason. It shouted it name like battle cry, " Shroomish! " and charged at Shadow, planning to slam into her.
Toda didn't respond as quickly as the wild pokemon as he was kicked in the face by Shadow and she blindly chased something she had found. With a startled squawk he stumbled back and looked at his trainer, hoping he would be told how to react.
Zane shook his head and tried to forget about Lekke for now. She wasn't doing anything bad right now and there were more important things to focus on, like the Shroomish that the group had stumbled upon. When he realized Shadow wasn't paying attention to anything but her leaf, he tried to warn her but he ended up causing trouble before he could say anything. The wild pokemon's anger was obvious to Zane and he raced forward, not wanting Shadow to be in an unfair fight, what with the wild pokemon attacking from behind and all.
Lekke sighed and watched as the idiots around her caused complete chaos over a single wild pokemon. She looked up at her trainer who seemed mildly annoyed. She doubted he even wanted to bother with a pokemon like this since it wasn't the target, but a battle had already been started so they would have to fight the Shroomish to get it out of the way before they could move on. He glanced at the other two trainers, silently using a glare to tell them to control their pokemon.

Shadow got up and moved out of the way, watching the Shroomish rush by. Quietly she observed it,ignoring her trainer as he tried to get her to get rid of the wild Pokemon. 'Why would he want me to kill something so interesting?',she thought as it turned 'round and began to run at her again.

((Sorry for being gone for almost a week. I was sick.))
Toda trainer waved his hand, motioning for him to let the other two pokemon deal with this. After all, he wasn't the one who caused this problem, so he didn't have the responsibility of dealing with it. He hopped over to Lekke and sat down, enjoying the break from walking since his short legs gave him poor stamina.
Zane slowed down, thinking Shadow was going to attack it, before he realized she wasn't going to do any such thing. She didn't look like she wanted to fight at all. Unfortunately the Shroomish was angry and friendly chats weren't going to calm it down. This pokemon wanted a battle, and Zane was going to give him one. Meanwhile, Zane's trainer halfheartedly tried to give him some commands, but gave up when he realized he was being ignored by his own pokemon. As the Shroomish ran at Shadow again, Zane skillfully intercepted it, tackling it to the side and biting it with an aggressive growl.
Lekke glanced at Toda and decided he had the right idea with sitting down. There was no telling how long it would take these idiots to fight off this wild pokemon, so she might as well relax and enjoy the show. She sat down took this free time to examine the forest more. She grabbed some leaves from a nearby plants and fiddled with them. It was weird how they were so thin and flexible, but still so fragile. She could bend the green things and twist them around without a problem, but if she held it too tightly, her claws passed through it like it wasn't even there.

(It's okay. I understand.)
Shadow dropped the leaf after accidentally crumpling it and then spat out flames at the Shroomish, eyes narrowed as she still continued to think. The flames hit the Shroomish, barely missing Zane in the process.

Zane wasn't bothered by the fire Shadow sent at the Shroomish, seeing as he was a fire type and all, but the Shroomish was incredibly upset by the fire type attack. It squealed and after Zane bit it a couple more times, the pokemon fainted and Zane hopped off of it. He felt a little confused. That battle had been so...easy. He was used to fighting other splice, pokemon with training, and he guessed that accounted for some of the difference in difficulty, but he thought wild pokemon would be harder than this since they didn't have people caring for them.
Lekke rolled her eyes and stood up, ready to move on again. Now that that was over, they could get back to the mission and catch some rare pokemon. Toda copied her and stood up, looking as disapproving as he could, which was a pretty pathetic amount of disapproval. He just looked kind of bored. He rustled his wings, trying to appeared serious, but he simply couldn't manage it.
((Feeling kind of brain dead write now. Hopefully I'll be able to write something more interesting next post.))

Shadow still had her eyes narrowed when she looked back at the two other splices and then turned away, arms crossed. "Well, since that's done. We should get going,of course watching our step this time.",she said irritated at the two loyal splices as she began to walk off,not caring if anyone would follow, but of course her trainer would.

((School has started again in my area and this year my classes are far more demanding. So far it looks like I won't be having much free time any more so my response time is going to take much longer. Possibly only posts on the weekends. Occasionally not even that. I have just enough time to hop on Res and tell you so you don't get upset that I abandoned the thread or anything. It's just going to take me longer to do things.))

Lekke, Toda, and the trainers followed Shadow. They didn't have a set course they were supposed to go on. Their orders were just to search the wood for useful pokemon and be back by sundown. For a while they walked without talking. The splices had enough to keep themselves occupied with the sights and sounds of the wild, and the scientists were all stubbornly refusing to talk to each other.
Zane trotted forward to walk beside Shadow. He didn't say anything for a little bit because he didn't really have anything to talk about, but once he thought of something he felt stupid for not bringing it up sooner. He glanced back at the others, who were about a meter and a half behind them. In a hushed tone he leaned over to Shadow and whispered, " I think we should make a run for it. In the next battle we get into we'll get the wild pokemon to cut off our tracking collars and we'll run. Those scientists will never be able to get us back!. " Just telling his plan to Shadow was making him excited and his heart beat faster and hope for a future of freedom in the wild swirled around his mind.

Shadow grinned and replied, her voice an almost silent whisper,"Great idea! We just need to find the perfect wild pokemon for the job." She looked around as she thought and then back at Zane. "I got nothing. It would probably need something pretty sharp on it to get through these collars, though.",she whispered as she looked back ahead of her,to keep from getting into another fight with a wild pokemon.

" I'm sure there's some pokemon around here with claws or something. Worst case scenario we can run off into the woods and try to chew the things off. " Zane said, his voice tinged with excitement. He glanced back at the other splices and it didn't look like they had heard him. That was good. Lekke was the one splice who wasn't afraid to take him down if he tried to escape. She already hated his disloyalty, he doubted she would allow him to plot like this if she could hear him.
Lekke watched Shadow and Zane. The two of them were obviously talking about something, but they were too far away for her to understand what they were saying. Whatever it was, she doubted it was anything good. She considered walking closer to them to try and make out their conversation, but they would undoubtedly change the subject the moment they noticed. For now she decided to just keep an eye on them. If they tried to bolt she would be after them in a heartbeat.
((I'll have a pokemon attack in the next post that can cut their collars. Would you rather have them get away or have their escape thwarted?))

(Maybe they escape and almost get recaptured. Later on,maybe,Lekke and Toda could try re-capturing them?)
Shadow nodded and then glanced behind her,not daring to move her head. "We will probably find a wild pokemon soon.",she told him and then stopped and stretched before trotting back up beside him.

The bushes to their left rustled, as though something small was crawling through them, and a Rattata came sprinting out with terror clearly written on its face. It disappeared and the forest was silent for a moment before a pokemon as large as the scientists leaped out from the underbrush screaming, " Scytheeeeer!" with its mantis arms stretched out and ready to attack.
Zane darted away from the Syther, which landed right where he had been standing. From the looks of it this pokemon was hungry and ready to eat whatever it found, and they were lucky enough to be the ones it found. Zane's mouth lit up and spewed fire at the pokemon, drawing a screech from the pokemon.
Lekke froze as the biggest pokemon she had ever seen appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. She quickly came back to her senses and sprinted around behind the pokemon, planning to jump on it's back and bite it, and she was careful to stay behind the Scyther while she waited for it to stay still long enough for her to get on it.
Toda moved after Lekke did, but he didn't run at the Scyther. He knew his fighting style and he knew he was too slow to be fighting a pokemon like that. He would be shredded to ribbon before he could even get a good peck in. His trained looked at him and frowned. He didn't like the way he was running from battle, but he understood that this wasn't a time where Toda would be very useful. He turned his attention to Lekke in case he needed to give her order, which he doubted he would need to do.

As soon as the large pokemon flew beside her she backed away and joined Zane in spitting flames at the pokemon. The screeches that came from it made her flinch, thinking it was going to attack, but she stood her ground beside her friend. "What is that?",she whispered to Zane as she stared up at the Syther's face.

" That's our ticket out, " Zane whispered back. He jumped and growled at the pokemon, taunting it and making it focus on him. The Scyther wildly swung at him, it's razor sharp blades whipping around him, barely missing him as he skillfully dodged each attack. The wild pokemon hadn't had any formal training and it's fighting was sloppy, and Zane intended to take advantage of it's weaknesses. All he had to do was get it to skim his neck, just close enough to get the collar off, but not so close that it got his neck.
While Zane caught the Scyther's attention, Lekke found her opening. She hopped onto it's back, holding onto it's shoulders and biting down on its back. This pokemon looked pretty strong, which meant it could be used. She would have to restrain herself from killing it unless the order was given.

Shadow joined Zane in the taunting and noticed after each swing the pokemon appeared to get closer to hitting her friend. Just as she was thinking it swung again, but this time almost swiped across her face, but luckily someone had got its back, causing the claws to dart upwards right before it could hit her.

The Scyther swung around, trying to get Lekke off of its back and failing until it flapped it wings hard enough to lift it off of the ground. The buzzing panels of wing smacked Lekke until she let go of the Scyther and was flung into the bushes. With it's back no longer being bitten by Lekke, the Scyther returned to its original target. This time it knew its claw hit its mark, tearing through something.
Zane felt his blood freeze in his veins and the Scyther's claw came racing down at him. He flinched back, knowing he didn't have time to dodge and heard a rip and a snap as it tore straight through his collar. Realizing he wasn't dead, Zane hopped back from the Scyther. The claw it swung at him was now stuck in the ground, and the Scyther screeched in frustration as it yanked its claw back. Zane fired a volley or embers at it before running behind Shadow, hoping to draw the pokemon's attention to her. Though he knew he could go ahead and run, he didn't want to go alone. He would wait until Shadow was able to go with him before he ran.
Lekke yelped in surprise as her face and body were repeatedly smacked by the Scyther's wings. She instinctively let go of it and was thrown back by the air the wings kicked up. She landed in a bush, which wasn't all that bad until she hit the thorny part of it. With upset growls of pain Lekke thrashed about, trying to get out of the bush but only managing to dig the thorns deeper into herself.
Toda jumped as Lekke was thrown off. He watched, waiting for her to hop back into the fray, but she didn't. When he heard her almost panicked growls he went running to help her. Well, it was more fast hopping than running, but it was as close to a run as he could get. Seeing her hopelessly tangled in the bush, Toda helped her as best as he could by slicing at the offending plant with his beak and wings. While this was working to an extent, it would take him a couple of minutes to free her by doing this.

Shadow watched all of this and then felt Zane behind her. The Syther didn't hesitate before swinging down its right claw. Stretching out her neck she firmly planted her feet to the ground and then it hit her. There was a loud snapping sound and her collar fell to the ground, with a bit of blood following, but not enough to worry. "Should we run now?",she asked before she moved out of the way of another failed swing.
