Hm... root beer. I haven't had any of that since I was little.
He remembered his mom coming home with a pack of root beer once a month. It had been their special treat, and they hadn't gulped it like normal kids. They had savored every last drop, knowing that they wouldn't get any more for another month.

Yeah, perfectly fine. Except maybe a little hungry, though I suppose I can remedy that.
He tried to sound as convincing as possible. He was a little hungry, but that wasn't all. He went over to a window and opened it.
Watch this.
He concentrated extremely hard, and right behind another tree a tiny one sprouted, and all sorts of fruit grew on it. Even fruits from bushes or vines popped out. He grabbed a couple strawberries off of it.
Any requests? I can do vegetables too. I'm pretty sure no one will see, it is pretty well hidden behind this other tree. Unfortunately, I am limited to things that grow, but I could make you a little potato tree if you wanted me too.

Thanks. Anything you want? Also, I'm sure your a great shapeshifter. I happen to be terrible at doing stuff like this, compared to other earth demons I can't do squat. I make berries grow and leaves rustle. Others can make tree armies.
He remembered learning how to use his powers. He had been simply awful at first, not even able to control a flower.

Not compared to normal earth demons. They control trees, I grow flowers. They grow up to twelve feet tall, I capped off at 5'7". They have a huge temper to match there size, and the first time anyone has seen me lose mine was today, and that was about a subject I really care about. I'm about as runty and mutated as you can get for my kind.
