Name: Spirit stands about 6'3, slim and with a tan of a farmer. She has long blond hair with silvery brown streaks in it that hangs to her mid back.. She has long ears with many chips in them from the opsticals, also along with a long slim tail. Her right eye is an ice blue and her left eye is the silver brown color she has in her hair. She wears a white bandanna along with her black cowboy hat. Animal Characteristics: She has the speed of the Tazmainian Devil, the ears, and the caniee teeth, the tail and also, her feet are the paws. She has the extrodinary scense of smell, and with her eyes, she can see in the dark. Along with her ears, they allow her to hear better than a human. She also were's a sea horse ring. Personality: Spirit is a hyper young lady that loves getting into things. She loves getting into stuff she's not supposed to. Although, ever since the battle for survival has began, she often can't sleep at night and often will have nightmares when she does sleep. History: Spirits been their since she was 4 years old, and because of growing up in such a horrific place [W.A.S.P], she can't remember nothing of her past. With a fire lit and a lot of her fellow test-subjects awake, Alexis smiled brightly to see everyone seemed ok. She glanced over to Jac as he greeted the group before curling up to sleep a short distance away, then glanced over at Echo. Echo had been observing everyone's moves and actions from afar. She had barely touched the salmon she had taken to eat yet, having only taken one bite out of the fish's belly. Alexis watched curiously as Echo proceeded to bite the fish roughly in half (since it wasn't exact one half was a little bigger than the other), then grab the bigger half, the head end, by her teeth. Echo dragged it with her, of course still moving on all fours, then laid it down a couple of feet away from Jac, before running back to the other half of the fish.
Echo had probably assumed that Jac would be hungry when he woke up, and as such had decided to give him half of her food. Not that it mattered to herself; that salmon had been very big anyway, and more to the point, if a friend was hungry she didn't mind giving up her own food if it mean keeping them happy. Of course, this sometimes resulted in Echo under feeding herself, and that was why she was slightly underweight.

Kye attempted to walk over to the fire using her extra spider legs, which resulted in a bruised knee. She did get over eventually. She really hated being a spider "mix". She grabbed the dead bird. Even though it looked nasty, it smelled good to her. She poked it a few times with her claw (Yes, she has claws) and asked quietly "Um, does anyone know how to cook this?"

Dylan stirred in his sleep. His tail twitched and his round black ears swivelled round at the irritation of sound. His mouth opened ever so slightly, showing two large bottom canine teeth from a large cat. His nose was lifted by the smell... Food... Fish. One eye opened sharply, revealing a piercing yellow iris and a large black pupil, that got smaller as it adjusted to the morning light. The scent had awoken the boy. He had built up the habit of being nocturnal, having the annoying Panther DNA in his blood.
Dylan's stomach growled fiercely at him. He knew the others would be feeling this too, but to smell the fish made him think otherwise in some places. Despite being tired from a whole night of scouting, Dylan pushed his body up and stretched as you might see a house cat stretch. He then sat, legs straight out in front of him, and looked around. Jac was asleep, Echo was giving part of a salmon to him, Alexis was watching... And all the while, Dylan's senses were busy. These new abilities were really something to get used to.
Dylan decided to stop being nosy and actually talk with someone, though he would need to eat and rest soon. He got up, and walked round the fire. He hated the heat that came from it. It was just... Unbearably horrible. Inside his brain, he was pleading for a piece of meat. Just as he though that, his stomach growled at him again. He was now so hungry that it hurt, and the smell of food around him didn't make it any better. After all the confusion, Dylan went over to a tree and sat up against it, looking rather sick.

Echo had barely eaten a mouthful of the half of the fish she had saved for herself when she noticed Dylan get up. She stopped eating and watched him curiously, observing as he walked round the fire and as he stopped by a tree. The cat-girl blinked, and her ears seemed to droop a little. It looked like she was a little sad, but she was more likely concerned for Dylan. She glanced down at the still mostly intact fish half, then made a decision and grabbed the tail in her teeth and dragged it over. She dropped it right in front of Dylan, let out an almost kitten-like mew, then retreated, curling up in the middle of the clearing, though not falling asleep. She started absentmindedly batting at a flower growing from the forest floor just in front of her. Echo didn't seem to care that she had given up all her food for others by that point. All that mattered to the sensitive girl was the happiness and well-being of the others.
Meanwhile, Alexis blinked when Kye asked if anyone knew how to cook he dead bird.
"Well, you'd need to remove the feathers before you cooked it, then the head...unless you wanted to eat that part." Alexis began, thoughtfully. "Remove its innards...again, unless you wanted to keep them in..."

Kye looked at Alexis. She began to follow her instructions. The preparing of the dead bird would have revolted her, but apparently spiders have strong stomaches so she just gagged. A lot. She threw the innards and the head in the fire. Big mistake. The fire grew and made loud cracking noises, which scared her. She poked the dead meat a few more times. "What now?" she asked.

Eventually Komodo was left with nothing more than a fish skeleton, with some of the bones broken and crushed from being chewed on. He had only recently developed the instinct to eat his food quickly and messily. The faster he ate the less likely it was that he would lose his food somehow. He wasn't sure why he was so paranoid about losing his food, but he believed it had something to do with having to travel in a group. He didn't want his food to be stolen by someone, but of course he never told anyone about those kinds of thoughts. They would be offended. He would rather be considered a messy eater than a rude and paranoid person.
He got up and walked a away from the group and found a nice, dark place where he could bury the bones. Whenever he ate an animal he would give it a small funeral if he could. He didn't start doing this until he escaped the lab. Something about seeing the face of your meal before you eat it changes the way you feel about it. He scratched the leaves away from the forest floor and dug down into the dirt a little. He dropped the bones in the indent and covered them back up, leaving no sign that there he had done anything. He supposed a nice bonus of burying his scraps was that it made the group harder to track. The less evidence they left of their presence the better. Finished with his little post meal ceremony, Komodo returned to the group.

Spirit lied away on the lush green grass. She sat up and looked around as she sat in the feild, away from all the others. She liked being alone but also liked being with other people, so she'd know she wasn't always alone.She let out a sigh and stood up and began to walk to the others. She had slept their for a few hours now, and she hoped no one had noticed she was gone.

Alexis wasn't really an expert on cooking. She watched as Kye followed the instructions she had given, and Alexis ran a hand through her hair as she considered what could be done to improve the meal the dead bird would provide.
"Well, I suppose if we cooked it on the fire with some rosemary herbs that might give it some more flavour...Echo might know where we could find some." Alexis said, knowing that her younger sister knew a lot about the surrounding area because she often wandered off from the group. "I suppose we could ask her." Alexis looked over to where her sister was curled up, still batting at a flower with one hand.
"Echo, do you know where we..." Alexis called over, but trailed off when she noticed that her sister was crying. Echo's white cat ears were drooped and she had her tail curled around her, tears steadily flowing down her cheeks. Echo looked extremely sad, but she was crying silently. Alexis walked over and crouched low by her sister with a comforting smile.
"What's wrong, sis?" Alexis asked, gently. Echo didn't even meet her eyes, instead just shaking her head and scampering off about ten feet further away, curling up and just continuing to cry silently.

Alexis looked up as Lola suggested why Echo might be crying. Might it have been hunger? It was a possibility, yes, but Echo had never cried because she was hungry before. Alexis thoughtfully ran a hand through her hair and hummed thoughtfully, then looked back up at Lola and spoke.
"That is possible, not that she'd ever admit it...the way she sees it, she finds the needs of others so much more important than her own, even if it means not taking proper care of herself." Alexis said. "But she's never cried because of hunger before....I think it might be something else, but I don't know what, and she won't talk about it, I know." She glanced over to Echo who was still sat with her tail curled around her legs, ears drooped, tears rolling down her cheeks. A fly landed on her nose ad she swatted it away lazily with a clawed hand. |

Kye looked at Echo. Why was she crying? Maybe she was hurt? She wouldn't know. She wasn't very empathetic. She often tried, but it never worked. She looked at the dead bird meat and poked a stick that she had sharpened through the meat. It made a nasty squishing noise. She raised the stick and put it near the fire. "Echo, are you okay?" she asked before realising that it was close to pointless to ask, because Echo didn't answer to most questions.

Dylan's eyes widened as Echo came and gave him her fish. He wasn't sure what to say, and his tail flopped around constantly in anxiety. He was about to say thank you, but before his jaw could move, the shy cat girl was off and curled up. She seemed to now be dragging in some attention. Dylan then noticed that Echo was crying, ad that was why the others had gathered round her. He wondered if it was because he had done something, or because he hadn't said thank you or something. He urgently dragged the half fish over and placed it in front of Echo. "If you want to have something to eat, I am happy to stay hungry. I could always try to catch something of my own..." Dylan said, watching Echo caringly. He had always had a strange feeling about her, but did not know what it was or what it meant. He stepped back. Was it... No. Just no.

Echo sniffed a little and looked up at Dylan. She blinked a few tears from her eyes as she saw him bring the fish she had given to him back to her, looking down at it then back up at him as he spoke. She hesitated, then nudged the fish back in his direction a little more. She shook her head a little and then, much to the surprise of Alexis, who was observing from a few feet away, spoke.
"You have...I'm not hungry..." Echo said, quietly. "I...just..." She stood up on two legs for a moment - something Alexis was shocked to see her do - and tried to take a step, but stumbled, landing on all four limbs then sitting up again, her ears still drooped sadly and her tail twitching slowly.
"I'm...scared..." Echo continued, another tear sliding down her cheek. "Scared of...forgetting...forgetting who I am, and being...mindless...just like the evil people wanted." Echo had spoken then more than she had been known to speak in entire weeks. By 'evil people' she clearly meant W.A.S.P. |
