Jac looked up and smiled slightly at Echo as she placed the fish in front of him. He dragged it closer to himself, but didn't touch it and if anything looked as if he was curling around it. He looked up as he heard Echo crying though, and whined slightly. The whine attracted way to much bird life which flitted all around him before leaving when he stopped. He padded over and whined at Echo again, opening his mouth as if to speak. No sound came out though. His shoulders slumped, before he offered her his fish, shaking his head to make it clear she should have it.
He thought for a sec, before barking softly and reassuringly. If she had more in common with an animal, she'd understand. He kept up whining ever once in a while, his tail wagging at a slow pace, sweeping the leaves around him.

Alexis was quite stunned. Her sister was communicating way more right here and now than she had been known to for weeks on end. She just kept on watching, still very much shocked, as Jac approached Echo and tried to give her the half fish she had offered him earlier. Echo blinked, holding her head to one side in an almost quizzical posture. She watched Jac silently, but from the way her ears pricked up a little, Alexis could tell that her sister could understand what Jac was saying.
Echo blinked again, letting out an almost kitten-like mew. It seemed as though she felt she could just speak to Jac using 'animal-speak', which she knew he could understand. Echo shook her head gently and then, shocking Alexis even more...she smiled. Echo, shyest girl in history, genuinely smiled. Albeit a small smile, but it was still there. She shook her head a little.
"It's ok, you two can eat the fish..." Echo whispered, glancing from Jac to Dylan. "I...I'm not hungry...honestly...I'm just...worried about things. It...it's fine..." Her white ears twitched, as did her tail. She gently bumped her head against Jac's, purring softly, then did the same to Dylan; this was a greeting a cat would give to whomever it viewed as a friend.

Dylan smiled as Echo smiled herself. He was glad that she was able to communicate with Jac. So, this was what she understood clearer? 'animal talk?' Just then, his eyes widened. Echo talked, and head-butted him. Dylan blushed with increasingly red cheeks. Well, now that he knew what Echo understood, Dylan was eager to try it out. He almost forgot about his hunger. He stopped for a second. Surely Echo would understand him more, as he had cat DNA in him? Whatever, it was worth a try. After a few deep breaths, Dylan let out his version of a meow- not quite the high pitched kitten mew, but a deeper pitched grumble and a small yelp. He could not do the kitty mew as he had more feral DNA, from a wild animal, not a domestic one. Dylan hoped Echo would understand, because if she didn't, Dylan would look like a total idiot. He glanced over to Alexis for a second, who looked absolutely astonished. He had to stop himself from laughing at the sight.

Echo's tail was gently swishing from side to side as she sat facing Jac and Dylan. Evidently she trusted the two of them a lot, which was quite miraculous; Echo hardly ever let herself trust anyone, and trusting these two showed she was attached to them. Indeed, when Echo liked or trusted someone she would be quite clingy. She turned her head very quickly to look over at Dylan as he tried to address her using feline vocalisations. Her ears pricked up, she was now focusing her full attention on him. She smiled a little more and meowed back. She was very happy to be with two people she liked, whom could both use 'animal speak' to communicate with her. She looked at both Dylan and Jac, purring by now to indicate her happiness.
Alexis had watched all this in stunned silence, then smiled a little. She felt happy for Echo finding two really good friends. Alexis would have watched a little more had she not heard something behind her. She turned, but saw nothing. She heard it again...something or someone was nearby, either danger or potential prey. Alexis glanced around then slipped away unseen to check what it was she had heard.

Dylan grinned and grumbled a purr. He liked to see people happy. His ears were fully upright, and by now his cheeks had flushed bright red. He carried his tail high. Yes, getting used to being a black panther person was going to be hard, but having the sort of trust from somebody like Echo would make it a little more bearable. Dylan's ear flicked to the side. He imagined he had picked up a sound that Alexis had too- Her ear had moved in sync with his. He was about to get up and investigate, but before he did, Alexis was up and away. Dylan trusted that Alexis, being older, wiser and stronger, would be capable of handling whatever it was. If she needed help, though, he was ready to do so.

Jac smiled slightly, before barking softly and curling up into a ball at Echo's feet, the fish nestled between his chin and chest. As his tail swished the leaves away from him, his tee shirt shifted to reveal a long cut. He did, however, look up when Alexis left, but seemed hesitant to leave Echo. It seemed as if he were like a dog who had chosen his owner, before he settled back at Echo's feet and winced slightly and hid the cut from sight. His tail still wagged, but his eyes darted around for Alexis or danger.

Echo very much enjoyed the company of the two people she had just come to recognise as close friends, and her soft purring indicated how happy she was. She mewed and smiled brightly at Dylan, then looked at Jac as he curled up by her feet. She wondered why he did that, and showed concern when she saw the cut he had. Undoubtably it was from the experiments W.A.S.P had performed, and Echo felt sorry for Jac; Echo had no such physical scars. In some effort to express her concern or perhaps comfort Jac, she reached forward and gently ruffled his hair with her right hand. She kept purring softly all the while. Echo was clearly very attached to her two friends.
Meanwhile Alexis had found nobody in the area nearby, and would have turned back had not she then spotted what looked like a note nailed to a tree. She tore it down and read it softly to herself: 'We're coming in precisely half an hour. If you run, we will find you. We do not want to hurt you. Just hand over the white cat and we'll leave you be.'
Alexis gasped, then ran back to the others, note to hand. She knew who they meant by the white cat...W.A.S.P was coming, and they were coming for Echo.

Lola heard someone running to the group and started to camoflauge to see who it was. Lola jumped down from the tree, left without anyone knowing that she had gone some where, and started to walk towards the sound slowly and quietly. Lola finally ran into Alexis, knocking both of them to the ground. Lola saw Alexis face and started to become visible.
"What is it I heard you running here?"

Dylan smiled back at Echo and then even More as she ruffled Jacs hair. He knew why she did that- she had noticed his scar. Dylan himself had not checked for any scars of his own body, but did not think that mattered right now. He had gained the trust of the Shyest and maybe cutest thing in the world... Dylan shook his head. Had he just thought that? REALLY? The ex pression on his face was happy, yet confused and surprised. He knew it. What he had feared. He was in love. With Echo.

Echo noticed Dylan's ex pression, the mixture of happiness and ever-so-discrete confusion. She wondered why he would have been confused, but right now she didn't ask why. He was happy and Jac was happy, and therefore Echo was happy too. She kept on purring happily, occasionally letting out tiny mews. A fly landed on her node and she gently batted it off with one hand.
Meanwhile, Alexis had been tackled to the ground by Lola. Seeing it was just her, Alexis showed her the note. She was a little out of breath.
"A note...W.A.S.P is coming...have to warn the others." Alexis breathed, getting up and helping Lola up as well, before hurrying to the clearing where the others were. They had to know what was going on, what the note had said. Echo had to get away as fast as she could.

Jac looked up and smiled slightly, settling back down. He looked up at Alexis and Lola, obviously curious. He glanced over at Echo, as if for permission to leave, before loping over to Alexis on all fours and struggled into a standing position. Reading the note quietly, he growled and scurried back to Echo, a slightly fierce ex pression on his face. He barked defiantly, as if stating that W.A.S.P would have to go through him first.

Komodo watched the others while fooling around with the stick he had grabbed earlier. He kind of wanted to join everyone in their conversations and interactions, but they were all moving and talking so fast and he wasn't sure he would be able to keep up. It had been a while since he last had a real conversation with anyone, and a group conversation certainly wasn't the ideal way for him to ease himself back into socializing He would much rather have a one on one conversation, or not talk at all. And who knows, maybe it would be for the best if he never really spoke much. It meant he wouldn't get attached and if he had to leave the group he wouldn't feel as guilty.
He frowned at the unhappiness that was pooling within him. He wished he had his dog back. Before he had been taken she was always there for him to talk to, but now he just had himself and all of these people who were just as messed up as he was, if not more so. He didn't like just sitting and thinking like this. He wanted something to do. Maybe he would go hunting. It would be a good way to repay that one cat girl for bringing the group food earlier. He looked up as Alexis ran into the clearing, looking very distressed about something, which immediately put Komodo on edge. Something really bad had to have happened for her to be that upset. Had someone been captured? He thought everybody was here...

Lola and Alexis got to the group and warned everyone about what was going to happen.
"Echo is in Danger," Lola said, "We need to get her out of here the W.A.S.P. had this note that Alexis had found that said that they'll be here in about an hour, what are we going to do?"

The news that W.A.S.P was coming was bad enough, but as soon as she heard they would be coming for her Echo's eyes widened in terrified surprise and she got up onto all fours, as though ready to run away there and then. She had stopped purring and was instead starting to shake all over out of fear. She knew what those evil people would do to her...they would empty out her mind of all free will and control her like a puppet. Or, if she defied them too much, they would kill her. Echo let out a pitifully quiet mew, as though to say 'help me...' .
Alexis exhaled slowly and ran a hand through her own hair. She was the leader, sort of, so she had to come to some reasonable decision.
"Well, one thing's for sure...we're NOT going to let them take Echo. Nobody deserves to be controlled like some monstrous puppet, especially not my sister." She glanced over at the terrified Echo, who had cuddled up closer to Jac and Dylan, obviously seeking some comfort in her great fear.

" Why is Echo the only one in danger? " Komodo asked. If W.A.S.P. was coming after them then why were they only after Echo? He doubted they were just going to let the others live. Surely if W.A.S.P. was coming then they were all in danger, not just Echo. He wondered when the note had been put there. It could have already been put there half and hour ago and they wouldn't know. Nobody had even noticed them put the note there. Also, why did they leave a note instead of simply doing what they wanted? This seemed very unlike them. They must have planned something, and whatever it was Komodo was certain that he didn't like it.

Alexis frowned.
"You do have a point there, Komodo. Several points., in fact." she said, reasoning everything out in her head. "Well, I know for a fact that Echo was going to be the first experiment put through the 'final faze', which would mean complete control of her mind, and they were going to put her through the final faze because of how she had become so animal-like...they must have thought her human free will was ebbing away, anyway." Echo had whimpered at this point, still cuddled up closer to Dylan and Jac for comfort.
"This could be a trick though, you're right...they could be coming for all of us..." Alexis quietly went on. "I wouldn't put it past those evil creeps..."

"Wait i have a idea," Lola stated, "Me and Echo can stay here while you all run away, I can keep her safe, and besides they'll expect to have brought her along while you were escaping"

Jac whined softly and looked up at Echo, before settling down and nudging her every now and then. He looked up at Alexis before barking fiercely once more, his message clear. No one was taking Echo away, ever. A low rumbling came from his chest as well, his tail down. His entire figure, right down to his wolf eyes, screamed a fierce dog-like desire to protect.

Alexis heard Lola's idea and reasoned it out carefully in her head, then came to notice how Jac was acting. It was clear that he wasn't about to leave Echo's side even for a moment, and he wasn't about to let anything bad happen to her. Echo, who was still cuddled up to Jac and Dylan because she was so scared, had also noticed how protective Jac was getting and held her head quizzically to one side, as though wondering why he was acting like that. She was still shivering in fear, her ears slightly drooped. Alexis smiled, thinking it was quite sweet how one minute Echo had made friends and straight away one of them at least was extremely attached to her, enough to want to protect her.
"It looks like whatever we do, Jac here isn't going to leave Echo. So it looks like we're going to have to rethink." Alexis commented. "Let's see...maybe if I were to stay behind, that would buy time for the rest of you to escape..." Alexis blinked, then shook her head, dismissing that idea from her brain.

" You know if you stay behind you could be captured, hurt, or even killed right? " Komod asked. He didn't waant anyone in the group to have to deal with that. What was the point of sacrificing one person to save another. Someone staying behind wouldn't be a permanent solution either. Once Alexis was defeated or captured, they would just keep going after Echo. They needed a different plan. One that meant no losses and guarunteed safety. The problem was that he couldn't think of one. Maybe they should all just run together. Just run as fast as they can until they find a place to hide. Maybe block themselves into a cave for a little while until W.A.S.P. was searching another area. He just didn't know, and he didn't like not knowing.
